Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It was early in the morning...too early...earlier than was normal to be waking up. It was indeed earlier than Oushi-Ouja Etoku would ever dream of waking up. However at the time Etoku had what could only be described as a searing migraine. His vision was blurred, his ears were ringing, he felt dizzy and nauseous and there was an unbelievable pain in his head. It was making it impossible to even dream of sleeping for the young Oushi-Ouja and he had found himself unable to really move or do anything to rectify the situation. Eventually though, he mustered up his remaining willpower and forced himself out of bed. He felt as if he was about to throw up but continued to move his way towards the nearby bathroom to hopefully at least get some water, or vomit, whatever the situation may call for. Despite the feeling of nauseousness he managed to avoid spilling his guts all over the bathroom floor. He twisted the handle on the tap and splashed some cold water on his face, hoping that would do some good. He splashed a bit on his face and drunk a little bit just in case this was a horrible case of dehydration. 'Remind me of...that birthday...when...my eyes.' Slowly he looked up to check that his Sharingan eyes had not reverted or disappeared or something equally horrible. To the boy's shock his ordinary blue eyes weren't there, and his Sharingan did not manifest when he activated it. He attempted to conjure a small Amaterasu flame to ensure they still worked and indeed a small black flame manifested and scorched part of the ceramic sink. Whilst Etoku was pleased to see his Dojutsu still functioned he was still confronted with the fact that his eyes had changed overnight to an apparently constant multi-ringed purple coloured orb.

Slowly he backed away from the mirror, unsure whether to be scared or intrigued. All he really knew is that he needed to check with someone quickly to make sure he wasn't going to die or go blind or something equally horrible. His migraine from before became mostly ignorable as his veins surged with adrenaline and he sprinted full-speed, still in his pajamas, to his cousin's chambers. After a few minutes he arrived at the room he knew belonged to Suzume and without warning flung the door open and quickly shut it behind him. "SuzumeSuzumeSuzumeSuzumeSuzumeSuzumeZumeZumeZumeZumeZume He rapidly repeated her name to the point that all the repetition started to blend into nonsense. He leapt on top of her probably stirring from and landed with a thud. Still panicked he swallowed and tried to breathe in and out deeply. "RightoksoyouknowhowIvealwayshadSharinganeyesanditskindaweirdbutnotthatweirdbecauseweknowforafactlotsofotherpeoplehaveit?!" There was no spacing or breaths between his words which would likely make them quite incomprehensible to someone who had just been sleeping. "WellanywaysomethingreallyweirdhashappenedandIdontknowwhybutmyheadhurts!" After that next sentence he would faceplant into an empty spot on her bed without warning. His next words came out muffled due to his face being squashed against the mattress. "Dud yoo gah unny o 'at." He asked her, despite the fact that his speech had now slowed down he was no more comprehensible. He would keep his face laid on the mattress for the time being. If Suzume asked to see what the issue was he would hesitantly lift his head with his eyes closed. On request, he would slowly open them to reveal his strange new eyes.

Not all of her nights were filled with peaceful dreams. In fact, most of the time when she slept it was poorly, filled with vague memories of events that were not her own; they were distorted and twisted versions of a past reality, warped by time and malice. Even so, those nights of restless sleep were better than none at all, a comparison that a certain member of her clan was all too eager to test.

On the edge of her mind she heard something, it sounded familiar as she held the massive blade alofe with both hands, trying to push back against the armored man which towered over her. She heard it again as her heels pressed heavy into the ground, barely managing to summon the strength to push his cleaving strike to her side. The crackle of fire that burned around her began to die down as she raised her own thick sword for a counter strike, but the voice in the distance continued, familiar and yet...

With a jarring yelp she shot up in bed as the boy leaped atop it and hear, continued to shower her with a string of frantic incoherence. Her head would meet his, sending her rebounding back down to the bed with a red mark on her head and shock shooting through her mind as it attempted to resettle back from that old reality into the present. Her hands shot up and pressed against her head, still unable to understand the jumble of sounds that vaguely resembled human speech coming from the panicked boy. Rolling a bit until her cousin, which she had finally managed to recognize, buried his head into her bed and became somewhat coherent.

Still rubbing her head, she slowly sat up and stared down at him, looking more than a little annoyed at the moment, both due to the lingering effects of the dream and due to his sudden violent entrance. "What in the world are you going on about Kuku...?" It was too dark in her room to see much, with only the light from the hall and the curtained window providing just enough illumination to see shadowed shapes and outlines of the crazy guy.

It appeared somehow his incoherent rambling had not quite been understood by his relative. His face still firmly pressed against the mattress he took a deep sigh. Trying to collect his thoughts and ease his panic. He slowly lifted himself up to a sitting position. Now face to face with his cousin though his eyes were still closed, he inhaled deeply again. "I..." His voice faltered as if he wasn't sure how to phrase what he planned to say. "My...my..." He continued stumbling, unsure how exactly he was supposed to explain himself. "T-turn on the light please..." He decided it was probably easier for him to just show her what he meant rather than trying to put it into words. He was banking on her knowing what was wrong and telling him he was overreacting or something because the fact that his head hurt so much and his eyes had changed entirely caused a seizing anxiety within him. He had confirmed that his Sharingan still functioned, but for how long, what if this was just a transitioning stage to him losing his Sharingan eyes. What if he hadn't trained them enough and now he was losing them forever. The possibilities made his hands shake and tremble with worry.

Assuming Suzume complied with his request to bring up some kind of light source he would hesitate for a few seconds before slowly opening his eyes, the right slightly before the left. He blinked a few times as his eyes adjusted to the light but they were now clear to see. Etoku's grey-blue eyes were gone. Having been replaced by a vortex of black rings with varying shades of purple filling the spaces between. His eyes still moved and reacted to the light as they should but they no longer appeared normal by any standards. The girl would likely see the lingering traces of fear in the boy's gaze despite his best efforts to appear calm. His lips trembled slightly before he attempted to speak once again. "I-I woke up...with a really bad headache...s-so I ran to the...the bathroom and...and...and I saw these in the mirror. I-I-I don't really know what's going on." It was an effort, but he managed to stammer out a coherent sentence. His eyes began casually taking in the sights of her bedroom as he waited for a response. An attempt to keep his mind busy during the silence.

Every time she closed her eyes to blink they threatened to stick together and drag her back off to that place beyond the reach of consciousness. Swaying slightly as he muttered out his meek request, she let off a long low grumble as she weakly pushed herself to the side of her bed, shambling over to the light to flick them on. The light immediately seared her half-open eyes and she let out another groan of pain as she turned to go back to her head, momentarily forgetting about the unwelcome intruder who nested within it. That moment did not last long, however, as she climbed one foot into her bed and smacked his hip with the side of her foot, jolting her just a little more awake.

Lacking any real regret for accidentally kicking the boy, she finished puling herself into her own bed and sat down near her pillow, rubbing her eyes as she continued to try to adjust. "I swear Kuku, if this is another prank I will toss you out of the window." It was debatable if she had the current strength to do so, but given his capabilities it was not an impossibility. The four story fall from her window was no laughing matter, even for aspiring shinobi.

Opening her eyes more widely, she leaned forward towards Etoku to get a better look at him, her eyes still slits, though they had widened enough to see some details. Her eyes examined his for a few moments, trying and failing to understand what she was looking at. They were unsettling, but her brain was groggily enough that fright was lower than normal on her list of available emotions. She blinked a few times and then commented in a deadpan tone, "think it means you are gonna die." It was nonsense, but it was the first thing that came to her mind.

Waiting to let that sink in a few moments she leaned back as her face twisted into a great yawn. "Kuku, I have literally... no idea why your eyes look like a... a..." she hesitated a moment, rattling her brain to think of the word, "target... thing. Why in the world did you wake me up?" From a logical point of view, while she was an aspiring shinobi, she was still only slightly more qualified to help him in any such matters than practically any other non-civilian in the entire compound. Even so, she didn't appear unsympathetic and even the slightest bit curious, grumpy as she was from being tossed from her sleep as she was. It was not even that she didn't want to help, but the girl simply didn't have the foggiest idea what was up with his eyes anymore than he did.

"That's not funny..." He pouted, annoyed that she wasn't taking him seriously. The fact that he had just shaken her out of her slumber didn't even occur to him as a reason why she seemed so disinterested in his issue. He was certainly concerned about it and the fact that his cousin didn't seem to care very much annoyed him.

"You're a Genin aren't you? Aren't you supposed to know this stuff?" He asked her, trying to give a more logical reason to why he had decided to question her about it instead of 'This was the first place I thought to go.' He glanced around the room and then focused on her again. "C'mon you have to know something about it? You're meant to be so much better than me at everything." He attempted a new tactic, one intended to appeal to her occasionally large ego. He was hoping it would be enough to spur her into some kind of action.

"Can you at least help me try and research it, I'd appreciate the company right about now." He sighed. His headache was definitely calming down but there was still a slight throbbing behind his eyes and despite his best efforts he couldn't stop his hands from shaking as they rested on his legs. "Please Suzu..." He begged meekly.
