Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Akumi had made it a long ways, it took her almost a week to get back to Konoha. It took her a little less than a week, her letter probably long made it to her brother before she even was halfway home. She gazed at the gates, her eyes were rippled now, and a light lavender color. It would be obvious she had the rinnegan. She had a different feel to her as well, she was happy to be back.

Today was a nice day out, Akumi seemed to have made it before noon, and before the rush. She approached the gate and the stand where you would normally show a passport and sign in. The working nin there seemed to not know who she was, or not know she was a missing-nin. Maybe they just were not thinking about it at the time either."Can you notify my brother, Yuumoto, Tamashii, that I am here, Yuumoto Akumi?" She asked, in hopes they would not turn hostile towards her, she wouldn't let her guard down though. She expected them to be hostile.

It didnt take long... Tamashii was in his office and finishing up a note to send to Takeshi and his squad to inform about his sister when he got word about her return.... and within moments he would flash to the gates mere feet away from Akumi as he used his expansive ability to use the gates to increase his speed to near blinding speeds, shaking his head he would slam his body into hers... wrapping his arms around her and gripping her tight. "...I...Missed you...So much...", emphasizing every syllable of every word he used. He wanted her back in one piece so bad... he wanted her to be freed from the clutches of those damned ANBU that looked for the next kill just for the sake of it. This was nice... Very nice. Holding her close he would call out to the gate guard. "I'll handle her from here... Notify the Hokage that she has returned.".

Nodding he would stand up straight, huffing a bit before looking down to her, "...Sister... Firstly your eyes. It seems you've done something quite bad..", holding out his hand, "The Book.", hoping she would just give it up before this went any further. . . but this was going to be quite the ordeal, how he loved his sister and how he loved the idea of having her back home, in one piece. However, he looked around for a moment and mentioned, "Where is... Your friend...?", tilting his head, he'd await all these things and more.

Despite being on guard, Akumi was taken by surprise, her brother was there almost instantly, hugging her. If she were a santaru he probably would have been zapped with lightning chakra in response, but akumi had no such power so he was safe from static. Her breathe was knocked right out of her, her first thought was an attack, but his chakra, she recognized it quite quickly. She hugged Tamashii back, just as tight. This was a delightful surprise. "I missed you too..." Akumi said quietly, she wasn't quite sure what else to say.

AKumi had grown a little taller, her hair was longer, and messier, probably due to the trip, and she looked more mature in ways. She was a little dirty, but it was hard to avoid that while hiking. She had to take off roads, and less traveled paths in order to avoid Anbu.

Akumi blinked when he asked for the book, what book? It took her a moment, but she blinked again as she remembered. Her face could completely be read in that instants, at least to anyone who could read faces. She pulled out the Jashin scriptures and gave it to him, she no longer needed them. "I am sorry for taking it without your permission." She stated, but she was taken a little by what he said, something bad? she did nothing bad. "I did nothing bad, I freed myself, I am free now." She stated with a grin. Free...

AKumi looked back at the woods when Tama asked where her friend was. "I am not sure... We separated at Iwagakure. He could be anywhere by now." She explained, though she did know he was going to try to find another village, at least that's what his note said. No point in mentioning it since that was almost over a week ago, he probably moved on from there as far as she knew.

Despite not exactly wanting to do gate duty, Umashi was all too attentive when word came back concerning word about Akumi. Quickly putting on his Kage robes, he rushed off towards the gates all to see Tamashii and Akumi standing there, having a moment. While there was a presence at the gates, the first thing that Umashi noticed was that fortunately, Tamashii had dismissed the more blood thirsty hounds among the gate guards who were just looking for a fight. Although Umashi hadn't quite personally known Akumi, from what he gathered from her file, she had been changed by what she'd no doubt seen. Unlike most, Umashi was not blind to the ins and outs of the world abroad and if there was one thing that he'd come to understand, it was that there was no place like home.

Making his appearance, Umashi appeared with the biggest smile on his face. Truly, it was a happy occasion when someone approached the gates and didn't want to blow things up. Ever cautious, it wasn't as though he was fully naive, but the last thing that he expected out of this situation was some sort of ambush. Opening his arms wide, he welcomed Akumi home.
"Welcome home! You must be famished, have you eaten? Wait . . . you have come to resume your duties right? Yes, great? I'll just need you to again, verbally state that for the record . . ." Speaking rather quickly, Umashi was trying to make it plain as day for all the faceless gate guards and passersby that the Akumi situation was already handled and that they were giving a Sennin, Tamashii, special privileges concerning having a nuke-nin for a relative. As far as Umashi was concerned, they could get this thing solved quick fast and in a hurry.

The moment didnt last long... but when he received his book back it seemed Umashi was right there. And as quickly as Umashi arrived would be Tamashii's posture and body would all stand at attention. It was never because he was afraid of Umashi... in fact, Tamashii was sure in an all out fight he could defeat Umashi. It was respect, for the rank, for the intelligence, for all the things that Tamashii was not when compared to the man next to him. He was humbled, but always willing to keep an open mind to learn from Umashi. There was a great deal of honor that came from the man... and it was his honor and respect that he carried himself with that made Tamashii adore the man as a leader. He was not perfect... but who was? Nodding Tamashii would second Umashi's statements.

"Aye. Its best to state outloud instead of the assumption because of arrival. So? Have you come to resume where you left off?", a quick nod... and he would await the response...

Yuki breathed a small sigh of relief in knowing that, at least on this occasion, Takeshi hasn’t done anything to cause an international incident. Her posture relaxed a little but Umashi wanting her she found a little more disconcerting, it did make sense him wanting to test her abilities. With Takeshi being gone a lot of his responsibilities inside the ANBU had fallen on her shoulders and even Yuki wasn’t even sure she was entirely ready for it.

The female Shinobi watched as the Hokage turned he back to her and walked away, there was something about the male’s movements didn’t sit right with her, at first, she was inclined to believe he was simply walking away from the chill that surrounded her, however, something about the action caused Mizuke stir. She could feel him move and twist inside her as he began to awaken. In any other situation, the demon waking was something she was would just ignore. This time, she couldn’t ignore him he was biting at the back of her mind, gnawing at her for attention.

I don’t trust this man Mizuke voice whispered into Yuki consciousness, she closed her eyes trying to regain the paper-thin control she had over him, she heard Umashi speak but didn’t register the word as Mizuke had won the battle for her attention. Yuki move! His voice came through less than a whisper and move or a shout, she opened her eyes seeing a fireball heading towards her. Reaching to the moisture in the air she moved her fingers with speed sending a large shark made of water to meet it before rolling away out of the path of the inferno. She heard the water sizzle as it met the with the intense heat of the raging inferno, she got to her feet looking around for the Hokage, who in the chaos, had disappeared.

Yuki arrived at the gates, she had been made aware of the entrance of female and was very much hoping that the laws of the village where being followed. To her disappointment, she had seen that they had in fact not, with the Hokage and a Sennen there she was a little surprised to see the Akumi had not already been taken into custody.

"Lord Hokage, I expected better from you. This woman is a known criminal and by the laws that have been set in place I shall be taking her into custody, any further communication with this criminal will have to be held under observation within the walls of the prison complex. Now I'm not one for violence so Akumi if you would just come with me we can get this over and done with" Yuki stood firm, while she had the utmost respect for Hokage she did make her disappointment clear.

Upon hearing of the incident going on at the gates Yukio made haste to join any that were already present at the scene, upon his arrival he caught the end of Yuki's statement and could only bring himself to agree with his fellow ANBU and tutor about what was going on at this time. Though they had come back to the village with seemingly good intentions a criminal was a criminal and it was the initiative of the ANBU branch to bring such people into custody for processing.

Bringing himself to stand beside Yuki he felt no need to make his presence vocally known his stance alongside his teacher speaking louder than words ever would his eyes taking in each individual there and whatever actions they could make. He still respected those present but was ready to take whatever actions were required of him to protect the integrity of the branch.

Akumi smiled at her brother, but another presence joined them. She looked to the side and saw it was a Hokage, welcoming her back warmly. She smiled at him, she didn't expect this man to be so nice. Would it be that easy? Just going back to work? "I do intend to resume my duties..." She said to her brother and the big man in charge. The Hokage spoke quickly, it seemed he just wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible. Akumi did as well.

But then ANBU showed up, the very people she had been warned about from Yuuto and Baba. They probably intended on killing her as soon as she left the safety of her brother. Maybe it was a bad idea to come back? She heard many things about the anbu and what they do behind closed doors, the only thing she did was leave the village for a short while, but they would treat it as if she killed a dozen people trying to get out. The tone of voice and choice of words said it alone. But she was right, Akumi did break the law by leaving, no arguing that.

Akumi looked up at her brother then at the Hokage for guidance, she was scared of going alone, especially after the rumors she has heard. "I won't fight as long as you don't intend on killing me." She stated simply, she wasn't going to allow herself to get killed so easily. THough they could answer with a lie, which she would not be surprised if this anbu did. The anbu was accompanied by a man at her side. He didn't say anything but nodded in agreement with the other woman.

and-we-would-have-gotten-away-with-it-if-it-wasnt-for-you-meddling-anbu.jpg

Apparently Umashi wasn't allowed to exactly get his way all the time, if ever. Despite trying to rush the process along, Umashi still wasn't quick enough to beat the ANBU to the punch and suddenly, there was Yuki and Yukio . . . two shinobi who were notably not siblings despite having similar names. Refraining from smiling nervously, Umashi went along with the flow as Akumi responded to the ANBU in a thankfully calm way. While Umashi didn't want to agree with the law on this one, he knew that there was only one way other than the law that the situation could end and definitely would involve a lot of backtracking in the long run.

Five seconds . . . in under five seconds Umashi could end the entire argument, debate and simply go about his business as he chose. He knew the relative strengths and weaknesses of everyone present save for Akumi, and he knew that to simple "start over" would be nothing harder than applying action to thought. In his mind, probabilities surfaced to the forefront of his thoughts and as he plotted a rather daring escape from a bloody massacre, he knew that none of them would come to pass. Akumi would have to pay for this one and hopefully Tamashii could get a really good lawyer to back her up. Holding his hands up, Umashi stopped thinking so much and instead spoke calmly to the wife of the Uchiha Clan Head.

"You'll have to forgive me honorable Lady, I merely meant to use my words instead of my fist. It's not everyday that one who gets lost is so quick to find their way back home, no? Alas, your duties are what they are. I shall not impede upon the law." In such a public place as the village gates, Umashi couldn't cause a scene. Considering the fact that Takeshi was Yuki's husband, and the ANBU Sennin, coupled with the tension between Takeshi and Yomi . . . any perceived sleight towards the Uchiha Clan and ANBU leader would seem to be a favor curried towards Yomi and one that would ruin all the hard work that they'd put into uplifting the village. In a word, Umashi was trapped by the bureaucracy of it all and either Yuki was smart enough to know that, or she'd accidentally stumbled into a favorable position. Simply put, the ANBU had managed to score a pivotal point on this day.

Yuki grinned at the Hokage, it felt strange him addressing her as "Lady", she often forgot of her newfound stature the words made her feel a strange mixture of pride and resentment. A small laugh escaped her lips as she placed her hands over her heart.

"Lord Hokage you wound me. I too am trying to find a peaceful solution to the situation that we have all found ourselves in, and trust me when I say then her returning willingly and not under armed guard or dare I say in a body bag will definitely but looked upon favourably in her trial," Her words dripped with passive aggression. She still though incredibly highly of the man before her but as acting Branch Leader she had to make sure that the law of the village didn't slip in Takeshi absence. She turned away from Umashi and looked as the woman who stood at his and the Sennen side. "Akumi, I swear to you on my honour and before the Hokage, and your brother, that no harm will come to you while you are under my custody. In fact, you are lucky that I am the one that came to arrest you if it had been anyone else I am sure this conversation wouldn't be happening" She tried to look as trustworthy as possible but she knew her ANBU fatigues was probably not helping her credibility. "I have never gone back on my word nor am I about to start. I promise that you will come to no harm. We ANBU are not the monsters that everyone paints out to be."

Yuki turned her back to the three and looked at the younger male that had joined her. "Yukio, as acting Branch Leader I hereby promote you to the rank of ANBU in Training. You continued loyalty to the branch thus far needs to be rewarded. Now would you please escort Miss Akumi to the prison complex, unless anyone has anything else to add?" she turned back to the Hokage and his little entourage waiting to see if anyone had any objection.

Watching he exchange between the ANBU and the Hokage Yukio listened content on not getting involved for he knew it was not his place too the statements given creating more than a higher level of understanding of all present at the time. Though hearing Yuki's words he couldn't help but nod in agreement the branch had not been painted in the best light from what he had heard here and such things were not what they wanted if anything they wanted to be seen as guardians or protectors who follow the law of the village for good reason.

This thought process was cut short however as Yuki spoke to him directly granting him the rank of AiT turning on his heels to face her he gave a bow of thanks a calm smile on his face.

"I thank you for this, I am honoured to be promoted into the ranks of the ANBU"

Hearing her next request he nods turning to Akumi speaking in a polite tone

"You will be in good hands with us, for we do not mean you harm as you have been told and we will honour her words"

Akumi nodded, it seemed like she had no choice but to trust their words, If she fought here, she would die. She knew her brother wouldn't fight her, she would not be able to take on two highly trained ninja, and an anbu in training. Plus she wanted to return to the village, and go back to work, fighting would just ruin any chance of that. She let out a sigh of relief, it was almost like she was holding her breath. "I have no choice but to trust your words..." Akumi said softly, she then looked to her older brother, "I will see you sometime If everything goes well that is." She stated, then she showed him a smile.

Akumi walked forward and away from her brother, and bowed her head to the Hokage in respect. "Thank you, sir, I did not expect someone of your power to be so kind. Your smile really meant a lot to me." She said to him, truthfully. SHe needed to thank him before she left, she didn't know when she would be able to see him next.

Akumi then walked up to the Anbu duo. The woman had promoted the Man to AiT, meaning she was truly high ranking. Someone she did not want to mess with. "Congratulations on the promotion." She said to the boy, there was no harm in saying congrats. She was ready to leave with him now.

Standing there Tamashii could not say anything.... The Rules of the land were as such... however, Tama would look at Akumi once before she left, "I'll see you soon...", this was not something Tamashii wanted to be accustomed to. This was a hiccup at best but leave it to the ANBU to be arse holes. He was once the ANBU Sennin. He knew this was the way of it... but there was going to be a legion of respect to be earned soon. Tamashii was sure he would strike the fear of Kami into the hearts of the ANBU, Takeshi included with his suggestions. They were the hand of the Hokage. His word was doctrine. As long as he was not ignoring the needs of the village he was not to be questioned. In Tamashii's eyes, Umashi was the final word on anything along with Council decisions. However, Tamashii was not Umashi who seemed to be soft and lax with his ideals on this day...

"Anbu girl... Do remember your place as the Hand of the Hokage... Remember that even with his actions he has a reason behind them. To question such things could be considered mutiny. And a civil war is not something I dont think any of us want the people to be thinking of... also, remember your position is one of a person who is hidden... you just promoted a student out in the open. However, this is duly noted for the future...", nodding Tamashii would stand huffing a bit before looking to Umashi, "My hands are tied as you wished Umashi, But I trust you will treat my sister with the respect that is deserving of a fugitive that turned themselves in...?" and with that he would wait for Umashi.

Umashi definitely didn't want an issue on his hands and yet as far as he could tell, Yuki had him dead to rights. Despite her having the law on her side, there were a number of things that Umashi could do to combat her proposed actions towards Akumi. In fact, Umashi was rather surprised that she'd promoted a kid right in the middle of a gate interception. Watching the situation play out as it did, it was good that Akumi went along with the process although it seemed as though Tamashii was a little annoyed, and understandably so. Had Yuki been thinking more about the act, she could have just passively mentioned that he was her subordinate, a much more palatable way to promote a person in the open. Even more to the fact, her actions left a rather good opening for Umashi to also pull some rather crafty rank promotions himself if he'd wanted to. The better question that he posed to himself was if the situation as presented was worth it.

If he were to suddenly use his power and authority to get Akumi and by extension Tamashii out of a sticky situation, would it be worth it in the end when the cards were all set on the table? Tamashii had a point, the ANBU were to be hidden, and not so blatantly out in the open with their practices. Yuki had revealed her hand early and it showed her to be a bit inexperienced about the whole ordeal. Again, Umashi would have to careful play the part of the wise politician and not take a bite of the low hanging fruit. With the various factors all coming to a draw, Umashi smirked nervously as he noticed the faint but still noticeable frigid cold front that had followed Yuki. She was riled up, but could she bear to stand the heat that Umashi was capable of dropping on her? Inhaling, and then exhaling audibly, Umashi allowed his own warmer front to permeate the air and to meet up against that of the ANBU Captain.

To those present, it would have gotten extremely uncomfortable physically, extremely fast. Opening his mouth to speak, Umashi first looked at the ground before looking into in Yuki's given direction.
"Oh if only the ANBU had been so quick to stop that Uchiha that recently got through the gates. Why . . . it would have saved me the effort of having to be here at the gates myself." Shrugging his shoulders, Umashi sighed as he began to shake his head side to side. If there was one thing that he could do incredibly well, it was playing the petty card with extreme efficiency. "Then again, I guess it is easier to prey on a hit dog than to hunt for a true savage wolf. Eh, Yu . . . ki . . . o?" The question was definitely rhetorical but considering the way that he'd ended his biting remark, it was meant as both a warning to Yukio and a rebuke of Yuki's actions. Turning his attention back to Tamashii and Akumi, Umashi smiled and nodded. "Have faith Akumi, you will be free in due course." Motioning to Tamashii, Umashi then waited and watched the ANBU take Akumi away. There'd be a further discussion about this soon enough.

OOC: Uchiha referenced is Izura . . . who force exited recently.
OOC: Topic left unless stopped . . . though ICly I'm standing and watching the ANBU take Akumi away.

Yukio simply led Akumi away without a word though a jab was being thrown in his direction he was not one to give in to such things easily nor would he rise to it such a thing would make him come across as petty and weak something that was not needed in this time and place. The only action he made was to spare a glance at the group a slight hint of disappointment in his eye, though he respected those here without question it was still a bit of a hit to see them all acting as such.

Though he did appreciate the cooperation of Akumi and would make certain to show the same respect back to her as she was showing to him.

"I thank you for your congratulations, and this should be a simple process as said"

He was straight forward though cheerful in his response.

As her task was complete and seeing no reason to stay any longer, she deliberately ignored the males attempts to get a rise out of her, the situation was tense enough already without her added to it as she had already said there was no need for mindless violence.

"Thank you for your co-operation in this matter Lord Hokage, I hope you have a lovely day" The female grinned before turning from the two men, waving at them as she walked away.

Yukii walked a few paces behind Yukio, she had half a mind to following him to make sure that Akumi was processed properly but from what she could he was doing a good enough job without her help beside she was sure that she had some paperwork that she had to be getting back to.
