A bead of sweat ran down Hira's face as he stared into the cavernous abyss that was his impartial teacher. The time had come to prove his worth not only as a student but as a shinobi that would have both the drive and potential to use his strength to defend his village. After a long and confusing road, Hira found himself increasingly willing to lead this path in life, though he still had to prove he was worthy of doing so. Across the field where Hira was to demonstrate what he had learned in the academy was Okada Kaji. Hira has practiced privately with the man on a few occasions so the situation should have been less stressful. Instead, the experience only compounded the worries Hira held deep within his heart. This man probably knew the most about what Hira was going through, and how hard he had worked to get to this point, making all that much more important to demonstrate that the boy had honed his skills even further without the help of his mentor.
"Don't be alarmed by what you are about to see," Hira proclaimed with a fashion of confidence perhaps not yet earned.
Deep breaths... Just do it exactly like you practiced.
Hira took a moment to gather his thoughts before looking up and almost immediately whirling his hands in a dance of hand signs, preparing for his hardest technique. This was the shinobi world after all, and in combat, the enemy would not give him a chance to warm up. The signs went by quickly:
Uma - Hitsuji - Inu
With the last hand seal, Hira began circulating a vast amount of chakra throughout his entire body, resonating at a visual level as he transformed his body. At first, his skin only became translucent, as though his body wasn't of this plane. Soon the very form of his limbs began to shift as they progressed from solid to a liquid state. This, however, was not where his skill set ended.
Mi - Ushi
Clapping his hands together, Hira slammed one of his hands onto the ground, causing the earth itself to seem to ripple before water gushed out from the point of contact. It twisted and whirled, guided by Hira's chakra, until it soon formed the basis of a sphere. The Water Prison jutsu promptly completed its formation as the liquid encompassing Hira's body began to fuse with the jutsu itself. It was almost as though the prison were absorbing his now fluid form. It wasn't long before the water prison appeared empty, as if Hira were never there, to begin with.
After a dramatic pause, or rather Hira's attempt to mask how exhausting the techniques were, the sphere began to shift uneasily; one part being pushed out as though an invisible force were trying to escape, and then another part following in suit. Within time, a section of water began to outstretch from the sphere, taking the form of an arm. The emergence of Hira's form was both an impressive and worrying site as the jutsu began to dissipate, the water forming it rushing into the now escaping form as it began changing back into flesh and blood. As the sight of Hira's original body finally completed itself, the boy immediately collapsed onto his knees, breathing in deeply but grinning widely.
"What do ya say, teach? I'm basically a pro at this water style stuff by now so I don't really think the academy classes are gonna help me much anymore." With that, Hira chuckled and laid down, too drained to accomplish much else.
