Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

This place held a lot of memories when it came to him, this was where he first met Ishi and the two of them intertwined and learnt from a grand shark. Who gave life to Keniwa's contract that he formed with his dear companion Nom, however as of recent there was something off about the usual calm waters which resided here. In some cases the lake was even blood ridden in certain areas, it was wrong and the natural order was out of place. He was in his own office when he decided it was time to discover what truly was the cause of this, however... as if it was a vision, the time when him and Ishi traversed the ocean's floor, despite Ishi's significantly larger power he was not alone.

There was one student who he had taken note off as of recent, whenever she would complete classwork or assignment she was incredibly dilligent and hard working with whatever task came to mind. Keniwa would like to think he was similar when he was in the academy, but in truth that only really would happen when things came down to the practical side. At the morning of an average school day the sennin would appear outside the door of her classroom, knocking before opening the door. "Hello, I am sorry to disturb the class, however may I borrow Tachibani for the day please?" He would be direct and kind with his tone, allowing her time to pack her things and head with him for the day. As soon as they left the classroom he would begin to explain what would be their task for the day as they walked through the hallways, "Hello Tachibani, I would like to take you on a mission with me today, I believe you have worked hard in your time at the academy, so I will be taking you on a trip of sorts, if you have not got any food for lunch I packed the both of us bento boxes."

The two would travel all the way to the valley of the end, Keniwa made sure to match the speed of Miyako safely escorting her to the large area, it was surely a long trek however the afternoon sky certainly made up for it in his mind. Although unfortunately it was ruined by the once pristine clear water, now tainted with splurges of blood and raging waters. "I am not aware if you have been here before young one, though it is usually far more... peaceful, this chaos is not right in any sense. Do you have any idea what might prove fruitful in a situation like this? Many strong beasts and monsters alike reside in these waters though their natural order has clearly been disturbed by something."

Miyako was listening intently during the lesson, jogging down any little tidbit that could hasten her growth. She desperately wanted to grow, evolve past her meager skills. She’s seen so many talented shinobi since coming to the village. All of the teachers were incredible! Their accomplishments are as legendary as the heights Miyako aspires for. She couldn’t wait to get out there on a mission and make everybody proud! Then came a knock. Miyako drops her pen, jolting upright to correct her posture and make a good impression to whoever this visitor might be. A tall, young man steps into the classroom and well Oh no! Did I do something wrong?

A sigh of relief as the situation is explained, relaxing her shoulders and releasing the vice grip she had on her katana as they carry on down the empty corridors. Of course it would be for a mission, silly! Why else would a high rank official call for me? I, the legendary Tachiabana Miyako! Finally some recognition~ Miyako cheerfully skips to their destination, a smug sense of accomplishment infecting every little movement she makes, her mind filled with delusional thoughts of grandeur that she would absolutely never share with her escort. She had to remain a little modest in front of her elders after all.

Their brisk pace halts, standing at the precipice of an unmistakably tainted lake, pools of crimson diluting and swallowing up crystalline waters. She had never been here before, but it was very clear that something was severely wrong with this sight. “Whoa, that looks dreadful.” An involuntary response to such a grisly sight, but true nonetheless. Miyako was definitely a bit frightened by it. Her experiences prior were completely sanitary compared to this, but she'd have to get over it if she wanted to continue on as a shinobi. It was just a lit- well, A LOT of blood. No big deal~ Pausing a moment to think rationally, before answering her teacher’s question. She places her hands on her hips, puffing out her chest like she’d just made the most incredible breakthrough. “If this is a new phenomenon and monsters were already living here before, the only logical conclusion is that there is a new threat that does not belong here. An invasive monster that is disturbing the ecosystem, no? Which means we’re going to have to deal with it! You know, like, beat it up!”

Keniwa would nod as he listened intently to what Miyako said, for her age and as a student despite the horrific site in front of the two she managed to keep relatively level headed. As well as her quite well made deduction, the Kyoujouran also thought it could be one of the many possibilities as to what had taken place here. His dear friend and contract Nom had lived here for the majority of his childhood so when it came to the valley of the end he had the most expertise in the group. Placing his hands together Keniwa would make a group of hand seals before slamming his hand on the ground and a puff of smoke would appear in front of him, the small shark contract being left sitting when the smoke resided. “Nom, the valley is in danger, its tranquility and peace are slowly losing its touch. Nature is in discord, we need your help.”

Despite his contracts small size and usual childish demeanour he was quite wise when it came to the environment, especially his home. “Nawt… good, Nawt good at rall,.. hrave this to help breathe…” Nom would bump in to the student and Sennin each of them feeling a wave of natural like chakra wave throughout their body, the shark would help usher them in to the water. Before swiftly diving in himself to get ready to his own independent search, it was something he cared deeply for its wellbeing and structure, and his worried facial expression displayed this clearly.

“Nom has temporarily blessed us with the gift of underwater breathe, however the water will still be much less clear than the earth above, you’ll have to focus a lot of chakra in to your eyes to see clearly if you wish to go under with me. It is your choice Miyako whether you wish to take on this challenge, I understand it’s a lot for a student, trust me however, you will be protected no matter what happens.” Keniwa would gently dive in, making a tiny splash, right after nom sinking slowly yet staying in the same spot waiting for the student to make her decision.

Miyako bobs back and forth, her capable sensei giving credence to her claim results in a giddily impromptu gesture celebrating, well... herself. A little clap in honor of the very astute gal , so gifted and wise beyond her years.~ Still, this was only step one and she didn't have a single clue on how to really approach solving the problem in a practical sense. The lake was not the domain of air-breathing creatures such as themselves. She racks her brain, trying to come up with some kind of solution. Oh, great and wise, Miyako. Bless us with your insight.

As she was doing this, Keniwa already had a plan, being the experienced adult he was. The crack of flesh against solid ground wakes Miyako from her fantasy, to the sight of something rather fantastic. The most adorable little shark emerges from the smoke. "Nom is so cuteeeee!!~" She coos, as spontaneously as the shark appeared. He even sounded cute! Miyako was hopelessly bewitched, yearning to scoop the little guy up and cuddle with him. Hmmm, maybe when the mission was over she would ask Keniwa. Nom waddles over without a moment of hesitation and escorts the two into the water, granting them the ability to breathe underwater as Keni explained it.

She takes a moment to ponder as he finishes warning her of the risks and explaining the situation. She was specifically chosen for this assignment, yes? Then it was her duty to fulfill it. To make everyone proud. Of course she was nervous and the idea of what could be lurking in the nebulous, blood-stained waters frightened her, yet her upbeat self-confident attitude persists. Well, that and she felt like she was in very dependable hands. "Thank you, Nom! I want to help out any way I can, Sensei. I don't want to be someone that runs away at the first sight of blood and like you said, I have a valiant hero to save me." She points to Nom and giggles, her delicate fingers brushing against parted lips as she tries to conceal her devilish smile. "I'm teasing, I'm teasing~ I know I'm safe in your hands, too. I'm ready when you are, Sensei!"

They could easily communicate under the water, and it was clear to see his joy at the student's firey determination, her own spirit was very amazing to Keniwa and he could see that she wasn't any normal kid... at such a young age. "Not that i do not believe you are not capable or anything! Just if worst comes to worst, ...heheh." He awkwardly chuckled not wishing to have offended her in anyway, truly he was not sure what horrible phenomenon had caused something for this. The water was quite clear where they remained, however as they walked across the sea floor it only got bloodier and darker.

Nom took the lead and with breakneck speed in to the mist it was in almost a flash however in when he returned desperately practically barking at the two. "Rinjured! Shrarks... nreed.. help... guidance!" Clinching down with his sharp teeth on Keniwa's rock like skin he would drag him over, luckily he managed to grab the student so that they would all get swept together towards where his shark was taking them. "I believeeee! He's taking uussss!! This waaaaaay woaaahhh-!!" They were flown through the mist, upon the sand underneath them it looked as if there was a few trails that were reminiscent of animal marks upon the way, almost as if they'd been dragged across the floor. This place unlike pretty much all of the surrounding area was quiet, the marks leading in to a small cavern where a few injured sharks resided... lying almost limp, heavily in pain as small leaks of blood and would leak from a few of them.

One of the older looking ones would speak up, wrinkles almost being seen upon their sharp like fin, two whisks which could look like an old moustache laid upon his face. "The natural peace has been disturbed... so many young and bright individuals... slaughtered mercilessly... But not within mother nature's will. No... it is terrible. One of my young... despite his rude attitude is the only reason why us few made it out alive." He would gesture towards a tough looking shark, one dwindled with yellow marks yet clearly still recovering from the close call that was their escape. "It wras... an octoprus, one which droesn't belrong here... corrupted and drark..." Nom spoke up to the group and they would all sit still for a moment before Keniwa eagerly nudged miyako forwards as if giving her a chance to take the stage. "So student, what are you thinking we do to help?"

Miyako takes a moment, glancing over at the heroic shark covered in dreadful wounds. She thought to herself that it must have been a very kind soul to put itself at risk like that for others. A tenacious and strong-willed look in its eyes that left Miyako fascinated. "Hmm... I think we should help. I'd hate to turn tail and run now after seeing how much everyone is suffering. Maybe we can go ask that one over there. He can lead us to that awful monster's lair" She frowns, a far more reliable disposition washing over her. She wanted to help them. Not just out of a sense of duty, but also genuine compassion. If they could free these adorable little sharks from that tentacled freak's terror then they should! It's just the right thing to do!

She swims over to the blue-yellow shark with piercing eyes, carefully and considerate. "H-Hi, Mr. Shark? My sensei and I were w-wondering if you could help us out." She stammers shyly, unfamiliar spotlight spiking her anxiety just a tad. The shark glances over, scanning the demure maiden, almost evaluating her to see if she was worth his time. He scoffs and turns away, a slight snarl in his voice. "Go home, kid. If a guppy like you sticks around here, you'll end up sleepin' with the fishes." As dismissive as he was, Miyako didn't get the sense that the shark was mean. HIs actions spoke far louder than words. She invades his space, forcing him to look her in the eye. If he would be stubborn, she would match him in turn with persistence. "Hey, I may look small and adorable, but that doesn't make me a guppy! I can fight, too! So you can help us or we'll just go do it on our own!" She's pouting- determined, but pouting. "And then the rest of the sharkies are gonna go 'oh wow, Mr. Shark was being soooo cranky to those nice humans that helped us. He would've been soooo cool if he helped those nice humans at all!'"

The shark lets out an exasperated groan. He realizes the kid would keep pestering him until she finally got what she wanted anyway. He glares back at Miyako, a scowl with a faint smirk buried beneath. He had to give it to her, he admired the gumption. "It's Denjiro, brat. No more of that 'Mr. Shark' nonsense. I'm not even old." Heh~ Heh~ Heh~ He caved. Miyako could almost hear his tongue clicking beneath the waters, but even still she was overjoyed that her wily charms got the better of him. "Alright then. Fine, you win. I can show you where the attack happened, but I'm not expecting much out of you, guppy."

Miyako wiggles on over to her sensei, letting him know that she had successfully recruited Mr. Denjiro, tilting her head inquisitively. "Did I do a good job, Keni-sensei?"

Astoundingly Miyako rose to the challenge, most kids would probably have wet their underwear several times by now, especially upon seeing the mass assortment of sharks they were not exactly the most friendly looking on the outside. It was a sour sight to see however, they all seemed generally shaken or in shock and despite death being a part of the food cycle this was not any normal event and definitely left them all a bit on edge.

"Hmm... I think we should help. I'd hate to turn tail and run now after seeing how much everyone is suffering. Maybe we can go ask that one over there. He can lead us to that awful monster's lair"

"
Take the lead Miyako..." The sennin would say as he watched her walk towards the blue and yellow coloured shark, whilst she did seem to somewhat hesitate the conversation appeared to be going swimmingly after not so long. She was head strong in her approach and managed to take down their attempts at deflecting the conversation or ridding her from this area. A grin would pull across Keniwa's face as he saw Miyako giddily come towards him, putting out a thumbs up he would brightly beam towards her. "A fantastic job Miyako!" Taking his hand to his chin as he would begin to stroke it as he looked upwards, "So I guess now we should head there..." Bringing his arms down he looked to Denjiro with a smile "Please, lead the way."

The yellow coloured shark would hastily swim out of the cavern before turning back to Miyako, "Get on then... we don't have all day." Offering Miyako a place to grab on his back so that they could move faster, right before setting off. He would briefly stop every now and then to see if the others were still following him, even with the student on his back, despite his uncaring attitude on the surface, deep down he knew what horrors lied ahead. The other group of sharks whilst injured were many in number with about twenty of them swimming aside and behind Keniwa and Nom who trailed just behind Denjiro and Miyako.

It took about ten minutes for them to arrive at the horrific sight, the water was a thick crimson red, it was even harder to swim in than before and in the midst of all the raging water would lie a monstrous looking octopus, eldritch in appearance and size. The ground was littered with corpses of several aquatic creatures, turtles, whales, eels you name it and it likely found it's demise to the behemoth before them. Denjiro came to a sudden stop as they all gazed upon the beast. Keniwa and Nom would move in front of the the student and shark alike, as Keniwa cracked his knuckles he knew what would likely have to come to pass. "So i'm guessing this is it." He would say at a whisper, Denjiro replying with just a small nod.

1700841225804.png

Although one of the sharks in the miniscule group would succumb to it's own fear making an attempt to get away... that was then it's glowing yellow eyes centred down on the group below, it towered above them all being at the very least 30 metres in width and height. A horrific screech one able to make any ears bleed would ring from it's beak being protected by it's eight tentacles as one of it's appendages would fall down upon the group, smoke from the surface clouding the water evermore. Most would have reached a grim end right there, however with gritted teeth Keniwa had caught the giant tentacle clasping it in each of his hands as he struggled to keep it up. "Okay! Me and Nom will- grr.... Take the left four appendages, M-miyaako! Denjiro! You must... work together.. lead the sh-... sharks! Attack as one!" With a mighty push he through the tentacle back up at the creature, it almost smacking the monster as he leaped forwards clenching his fist as a ray of orange chakra glistened around it, moments before he smashed his gauntlet in the middle of each of it's eyes. It recoiled and sent tentacles flying all over, three to Keniwa, and five at the group below, whilst Nom was down there... could he really take five alone? It was up to the student with what would happen next.

Miyako lights up, sprawling out as the praise washes over her and keen to prove herself. She would take the reins as he sensei instructed and save the day like the great heroes she's read about. "C'mon Denji-chan. Lead the way!" The shark snaps back of course, bemoaning the cutesy moniker with an audible groan. begrudgingly allowing the girl to surf through the waters on his strength. It's okay. The grumpy shark would come around to her charms eventually.

It was a pretty quick journey all things considered, thanks in large part to their agile shark companions, picking up quite the entourage- a rebellion against the abhorrent tyrant plaguing these peaceful waters. Still, what Miyako saw was something out of a nightmare. A colossal monstrosity, horrifying and alien, concealed in a murky blood-soaked bubble strewn with the corpses of innocent creatures. Miyako understood immediately by looking at it. That every last creature in this lake was a mere guppy to this leviathan. Miyako was frozen in fear. The beast's terrible wail paralyzing the young maiden. Even as the tentacle was crashing down, she could not move. Her eyes shut and then...

Keni-sensei bounds forward to receive it. An unyielding, unbreakable titan to match the behemoth in kind. The visage of the kind of fabled hero she aspires to be. The despair washes away and with renewed vigor she heeds her Sensei's words. "Denji-chan! Everyone! We can beat this monster, together!! Ummmm..." Think Miyako, think. How do we beat this enemy? Then it hits her. We're only guppies because we're so spread out. "Everyone get close together and follow Denji-chan's lead! We'll show this freak that even guppies can beat a monster!" Denjiro bursts into laughter and swims over to almost bow, like a noble steed. "Alright, brat. Ya got spunk I'll give ya that. You heard the little lady! On me, now!" Miyako wraps her legs around Denjiro's back, freeing her hands up to make an opening for their makeshift revolution. "CHARGE!" A fierce battlecry from a little bunny out of her depths as the school of sharks rebel against the tyrant. Boar. Tiger. Boar. Miyako collects her chakra, unsteady and turbulent, stealing the oxygen from drowning waters and carve a path forward. Two slashes cast from her own two hands to blind the behemoth and make an opening for her sensei and comrades.

Bracing himself to take the brunt of these three tentacles like a shining light he would see from the corner of his eye Miyako shout their battlecry as grouped with the rest of the sharks they all went forth with brazen ferocity and tenacity. Two slashes flew forth in quick succession from the brave academy student at the creature's eyes slicing through enough tissue to blind the monster as it screeched out loud, all of it's tentacles recoiled to cover each of it's eyes and its face setting up the perfect opportunity for them to attack. Nom immediately swam towards Keniwa as they prepared themselves to attack as one whilst the shark's moved together. Each of them bared their sharp teeth as they swarmed the invasive octopus, biting and gnawing at it's giant tentacles ripping through several with Miyako and Denji being the lead.

They had bought enough time for Keniwa and Nom, the two readied a large amount of chakra in their feet and arms before launching themselves of the water's surface, spinning and turning violently before a massive drill conspired out of water would form around them as they shot right through the monster's body, avoiding their allies as a hole was left in the octopus's head. One last ear wrenching screech would ring out before what was left of the creature would fall to the ocean floor, dust covering the area. A cry of victory from everyone present would ring
out as several other ocean creatures would appear from their hiding spots in happiness and content.

Swimming back over to Miyako and denjiro, Keniwa and Nom were beaming brightly. "You two were amazing! You should be so proud! With this, soon enough the valley of the end should be back to normal!" Nom was quick to agree. "Yesh, yesh so true! And! Who doesn't love calamari!" The small shark swam down to the creature and would begin eating as much as he could, for the creatures of the sea it was like a gigantic banquet all for free. Even amongst predator and prey for today they all could eat and have a full belly, happily, in peace. "Well, you two worked quite well as a team together! Let me know when you are ready to head back Miyako, you did a great job today." He'd begin to slowly swim up to the top, today meant a lot, and he certainly would not forget the valiant efforts that were displayed for today. Better yet, she was only a student, who knows what she has in her in days yet to come.

It worked! A genuine look of dumbfounded surprise permeates her expression. She wasn't sure her attack would be strong enough to wound the beast. A proverbial Hail Mary against stacked odds. She wasn't a gambler by any means, - it just felt like her best chance. Her stalwart courage displayed in the face of a overwhelming, dangerous enemy was rewarded in kind. The behemoth reeled in place, a shrill wail pierces through stormy waters. "Now's our chance! Hit 'em with all you got!" Denjiro and Miyako blitz towards the injured octopus, cavalry in tow, gnashing and biting through malleable flesh. She tries her best, plunging her katana through an open wound, twisting and severing through resistant flesh and water. She had faith in her sensei, Nom, Denjiro and the rest of their merry band of rebels. Every little bite helps.

Miyako was too distracted and embroiled in the warfare to notice the maelstrom of chakra behind her. The hero was about to arrive and slay the villain. A hypersonic bullet cutting through a waterfall, roaring louder then the crashing waves until it finally went silent and sank to the depths. "Wake up, kid! We gotta move!" Luckily for Miyako, Denjiro had a sharper nose and cleared out along with the other sharks, dragging her along. The monster had been vanquished in what felt like an instant. We did it! We actually did it! Miyako was on top of the world, cheering along with the rest of unwater uprising, hugging and petting Denji-chan, much to his chagrin, but she knew he was just too prideful to admit he enjoyed it~

"C-cut it out, Miyako... Ya got guts, kid. Hmmm..." He furrowed his brow, circling around the young maiden. "Alright, boss. If ya ever need any help.. you know where ta find me. I'm gonna go get my licks in on that piece of work." Miyako giggles and waves goodbye, until the sudden realization that the rest of the sharks had gone to feast on the freshly deposed tyrant shocks and horrifies her. She scampers off, hastily swimming to catch up with Keni, basking in his flattering praise. Miyako DID do a good job and it felt great being acknowledged. "Thank you, Keni-sensei~ You and Nom were so cool out there! You took out that monster so easy, like BWAH, and goodness it made such nasty sounds. My ears are still ringing! I can't wait to get back home and write to my family... oh and tell Utsumi!" She was energetically shifting around, almost as if rehearsing her retelling of this epic tale of defiant sharks, the oppressive leviathan and the brave heroes that put their lives on the line to do what's right: vanquish evil no matter where it dwells.
