Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Nobu had summoned Shion back to the Casino instead in the office it was time to talk about other than something regarding power. As he signed to himself in the office the books down open and out to anyone in the office to see, it was clear that each of the books had the money, and the running of the business all inside of the pages, the normally hidden information out int he open for anyone to see that was the plan at least, to teach something about business rather than constantly having to go over things that don't normally see the light of day.

He had been preparing the office, the blinds were drawn and it was only light by candlelight that flickered and twisted into each corner of the room almost as if dancing for attention against the pages of the books, the black ink sparkling sometimes where it had not dried properly as the flames licked at it. Nobu sat on the other side of the desk facing the door, he had his fingers tracing lines as he followed the times that he had been away, seeing what going in and money going out had been like and what the difference has been.

"Well, now I guess the only thing to do is wait and see if Shion comes, though to be fair the person I sent may actually have some trouble finding them. I will leave it a little bit and wait and see if they turn up and then cover what I am going to teach them."

Nobu had to make sure that at least someone had an understanding of how the books worked, the secrets behind them, and the tricks after all when he was away things still had to keep going on like normal. That included forging the documents and the paperwork, as well as making sure that all the tax side was correct and could pass under inspection.

Shion had been up and around the whole of crater city, he had been running an errand on his days out. Holding a good connection to the people around could give good information; on days like these, he would heal some lesser wounds and help bandage things. People still found it odd that a person from the casino was helping them, but at one point he also gained information in regards of a bandit outpost. "Thank you, you were brave to tell this Lilian." he would compliment the small girl and lay a last bandaid to the small cut. "Now please do stay out of trouble from them, I will make sure to pay them a visit later on." He would smile at the small child and the mother made a small bow. That was when a man came closer and seemed to be out of breath. "Eh-?" Shion simply asked and got explained that Nobu wanted him in the casino. "Alright, thank you for telling. Have this water and walk back; I will go up front." He said and would give a small water bottle, and say goodbye to the small girl and the mother before making his way to the casino.

Inside the casino sure was lively again and Shion made a glance to see if there were any troubles or not. As he got a mention it was all clear he would nod and make his way towards Nobu. "How long has it been that I have been here..." The more he got to the back the lesser the sounds became and it somewhat became troublesome to see. Leaving an annoyed tsk he would create a small noise ball in his hand before moving forward again. At least he could see close to him now.

"Nobu, are you here?" He questioned as Nobu had been silent and there barely was a sound around. For now, he could see slight silhouettes of books all around.

Nobu watched as Shion finally made his way into the casino, he allowed himself to lean back into the leather chair, almost wanting it to consume part of him from this world, but no he in fact had other work to do and right now had more important things to focus on and even he understood and knew that. He allowed Shion to walk into the room knocking on the desk to bring the man's attention back to the desk in those few moments and making sure that he knew that he was not alone in this room after all that was the purpose of the two of them being in the same room, to make sure that they had the time to learn from each other, this time it would be Nobu who would be doing the teaching it seemed.

"I am here Shion, at the desk as always, please come and grab a seat after all we do have a lot to discuss with each other and very little time to discuss everything so we must make use of the time we do have."

Nobu allowed himself to gesture out for the other one to take a seat, though he knew that it may have been pointless it was a gesture nonetheless of the fact that Shion was welcome in this place, even he knew that much and understood that much. As he waited for the man to take a seat, spinning the book around to allow the man to read it in his own unique way, as he had managed to get it all transferred into brail since the first time they had met.

"Tell me can you see what is really hidden in all of those lines, what is really kept secret and out of the way, after all, we must hide everything in plain sight, we must work in the shadows and be subtle yet never hold back, this paper work is one way in which we do that."

He was glad that Nobu answered him and let him know where he was. It made the room fully visible to him and he swallowed for a moment. ' That... were a lot, and I am meaning it. A lot of books.' Went the thought through his head before he would lower the noise ball and just saw the glimpse of the motion Nobu made. 'Let's hope that was aimed at the chair...' he thought and would sit down in the chair that Nobu pointed out. He heard something slide and it was sliding more towards him. Then he heard Nobu speak and saw it was a book. He could see the faint dots on them and was surprised that it was in braille. Carefully he reached out and took hold of the book; holding it on his lap as he went over the pages with his fingers. "This... is all in braille." He actually and genuinely sounded surprised as he let his fingers go forward on them.

"Read that is in plain sight..?" He questioned as to what Nobu was getting at, but he tried wrapping his head around it. At first it just seemed like regular braille and what tehre stood. but he tried different methods, he tried going up and down, back to right, left to right. Yet you could easily notice the male was a bit puzzled. "Erm... I hate to say this; sometimes my brain isn't as smart as yours. Could you show me the way?"

Nobu watched as Shion began to understand the work and effort that he had put into this to get everything sorted on both the bookkeeping front as well as the work that hid the secrets in the pages locking them away from those that did not need to know as he watched for a few seconds a smirk crept across his lips, it was clear that Shion was not seeing the bigger picture and he knew that was to be expected after all the information was locked away within lines upon lines, coils, and twists this was the way that a business worked and this was the way to keep things in the shadows.

"We all look for numbers, secret codes, and messages, we try to find things behind the lines that are written, messages which do not exist this is the issue that we will always have, is we try and read into situations too much when they do not actually exist. It's all about the mind games really, so let's go back to basics and really look at the document and go over each line"

Nobu allowed Shion time to go over each of the books again, though the numbers would not change, no secret messages would come up after all the Casino books which rarely ever got seen by anyone even though inside of the clan everything was on display right now and Nobu knew that Shion would have questions, this is why it was teaching after all.

"The trick is simple, at least with this establishment Shion, the numbers are all perfect, on that paper is the outgoings and income that the Casino takes within a month with no exaggeration or lies or slander, the numbers are not made up and never will be so the business runs legitimate so the question you then have to ask yourself is how do we get the money we need for the black market plans and sales?"

Hearing what Nobu said; Shion couldn't do much then to agree to what he was saying. "that is true... That is what I did now too." he would confirm and would nod that also all that he had read was fine. He couldn't find anything to fault for that. Once more he went over it; it really was all that they had in a month and there was nothing odd. 'I cannot find anything that is out of the ordinary... All the numbers add up, all the purchases add up, the repairs... Oh... here is that table I broke... Whoops.' He would then look back up to Nobu and tilt his head. "I still do not get it. I see no oddities in this book..." He would then once more listen to Nobu and the gears started to turn and twist inside his head.

"How. For the books from sand, I used my own custom Jutsu. A real easy one on top of that. But it keeps everyone away... But, if these books are real..." Everything he said he said out loud for the moment to give Nobu his thought process. Shion would try to feel if there were double layers in the paper or something. Not that, that would be easy as braille kept that relatively easy to figure out.
"I mean... in the sand cafe that I own. I used my Custom Jutsu to keep it hidden, not that it was the most advanced. But you cannot really hide that with Braille.. perhaps not all the books are going over the casino and you have a few others hidden away?" He questioned Nobu to see if he had a guess right at this point. "It has to be something that is easy inside reach, but not too far out of reach right?"

Nobu leaned into the chair, shifting his weight on his feet slightly as he looked towards Shion, watching his fingers on the book it was clear that nothing had been changed, as he nodded slightly listening to Shion speaking about using her own Jutsu that she had mastered in order to hide things he shook his head, this book allowed him to do everything out in the open. This way they couldn't be attacked for tax or blamed for anything else it had to stay above board. As he grabbed two glasses and put them on the desk, the bottle of whiskey came out next as it clattered onto the desk.

"Do you want a glass Shion? Might as well, after all, numbers make more sense when you are drinking besides what I am about to tell you might actually confuse you. So with the way I understand it, everything you see numbers in and out is legit but of course, look around, and understand the building that you are in."

Nobu allowed the chip to twiddle in his fingers as he then placed it down in front of Shion, this would give the man time to find out what it is as well he placed it down on the book to allow Shion to have time to find it first. As he waited for a few moments he knew full well that things would come together when he found out the answer to the surprise that had been behind him.

"The Casino pays out winning, to the invisible hand, that then shifts the money, all money movement can be confusing, it's keeping it quick and making it look standard, once you do both of those things, chips and payouts become while legal for a casino a great way to move our money around."

It seemed like he wasn't quite right on that subject. Apparently it was right in the book that he held in front of him. Yet it at the same time wasn't the answer. It riddled him to no end and he started to feel bad. He wasn't just understanding it and couldn't wrap his head around it either.

He had to be honest, the drink started to sound nice specially since he was trying to wrap his head around it. "Alright, let's just take a drink." he would comment and take the offer. He started to swirl the glass as Nobu placed the chip right in front of him. "Goes round..." He muttered and eventually just took a nip of the alcohol.. He would swirl it after before he would stretch a little thinking, probably almost overthinking while he listened to Nobu.

"Hmm... I maybe am getting it..?" He questioned himself as he picked up the chip in his hand. "These you buy with money... 'white' money... and... we buy them out with the not yet washed..??" He would tilt his head; this was more complicated. He never really had to deal with this; he normally was the one being send out to everywhere and then had to do something there. Fix it and come back. "White wash circuit?" He questioned further to see if he even was remotely right and if not he would question him what it was as he wasn't understanding it.

Nobu listened to Shion, as they take a sip of the whiskey from the glass and listen to Shion trying to work out how this worked, what he actually meant by all of it, and how to make sure that it never came back to them, it causes a slight smile across his lips as he considered just how far Shion had come but still knew that work had to be done to understand the full picture. Leaning into the chair he left the chip sitting on the table as he considered the best way to describe what they actually did.

"I think the best way to say would be, take that chip we give a load to the standard everyday guests, they use those chips and exchange them we get rid of all dirty money or money that could be marked, getting it off our property quickly and safely and in theory legally"

Pouring another glass of whiskey for himself he would once more offer a drop across to Shion if the man wanted another go at the Whiskey before putting the bottle down and picking the glass up, sipping away from it he allowed himself to indulge in these moments as he smiled slightly.

"The clean money, we keep used inside of our organization, we can buy, sell, trade without any hint of it being dirty money as we used that in the Casino and while allowing people to take chips, we can essentially 'lose' the money to the upright conventional citizens of this world, and by them, I mean people loyal to the clan, it's a win-win situation in that sense and as such, we benefit."

With the explanation given it seemed that the lesson had now come to an end, Nobu stood up and allowed himself to walk to the door of the room before opening it and heading out, leaving Shion to consider what had been discussed.

"These you buy with money... 'white' money... and... we buy them out with the not yet washed..??" it seemed with these words he was... on a way to say the least; and it did seem to make Nobu please on the way he was getting. But these things were just something that went over his head and he couldn't help it much.

The trail of thoughts that the young man held were at least somewhat right. Raising his hand he would play with his hairs and keep nipping the drink till it was empty. It was then that Nobu offered a new fill and he would take that. The way that Nobu started to explain how it all went, it did start to make more sense.

He picked up the chip once more and looked at it. " I.. .think I understand it now... at least a bit." he would comment and then looked towards Nobu again as he heard him speak. The room once more lit for Shion to see. " Hm hmm... so in fact; it is a type of it." he would comment and would look to Nobu standing up and leave. Shion would do the same; but first he took the moment to take a gulp of the alcohol, placing the empty glass down and make once more an sound ball that made sound so he could see.

Once nearing the casino he would stand still inside; looking over to the bouncers and they nodded that everything was fine and Shion smiled soft. Now was it that the man from earlier came in. ' that was that messenger boy from this morning.' he thought to himself and would go towards the register. He never showed interest in them... But now he wanted to see how the words of Nobu went into action. He looked towards the handling, but couldn't see the numbers on the bills or the likes. All he could see was a square of paper. But he could notice how at one point things were handed out or the other. " I see... so this is what Nobu meant." he would then walk behind the cassiers away.
