A light snow fell as Ayumu passed through the streets, travelling from the Sileo exit closest to the gates to the gates themselves. It had been a little while since he had gone outside the village. Missions took him out more frequently before he became a Sennin, but with his new position he was increasingly required to be at home. That was why, though some might consider his current mission a chore, he was perfectly fine with taking it on if only to enjoy the travel he had become accustomed to. He had adorned a fairly heavy coat to contend with the cold and had a backpack behind him with supplies for the upcoming days. At least one day was sure to require him to camp, even if the others he could rent a room. The bag could have been carried by one of the two ANBU accompanying him if he wanted them to, but what self-respecting shinobi would make a subordinate carry his burden? Aside from that, he hardly noticed the weight anyway.
Unlike the two ANBU behind him, Ayumu was not wearing his mask. There were many things he had to do as Sennin, and those things were difficult to accomplish without his known identity as the Sennin. This was one such task. Since the death of Rin, and Ayumu's ascendance to Grand Commander, some of ANBU's contact had lost faith in the ANBU. One of Ayumu's jobs had been to travel and meet some important contacts to reassure them that a partnership with ANBU was still valuable to them. This week he was meeting a particularly paranoid contact who refused to even meet Ayumu in the city the contact lived in. Instead, he had provided coordinates to an uninhabited location in the lowlands of the country. With such potential for this to be a trap, Ayumu would obviously not be making his appearance until he had a chance to scope out the meeting point for any scent of a trap.
Regardless, that was where he was now headed. First, he would need to make it through the gates. He approached the gates and awaited a guard to let him through. Whether the guard would recognize him as the Sennin was up to them, but whether they did or not he had his passport prepared. The two ANBU with him displayed their passports as well, when asked, and would be verified by an ANBU guard via their tattoo to be legitimate ANBU of Kumogakure, since they could not remove their masks.
