The story goes that during the war against the ancients and the demons, Mother Suna bestowed upon the First Men a blessing in the form of a vast, thriving jungle. When the King disappeared and the horrible maelstrom devoured the surface, Mother Suna sank the wonder beneath the rock and sands to preserve her work.
The Elderwoods is a strange formation of overgrown, unique cave trees not know to any other cave system or the world. Perhaps once they were a normal breed of trees, but these plants have adapted, forming crystal-like spires from their trunks and leaves. They appear part stone, and part plant. These crystals trees grew in, in such abundance with such a uniqueness that the Toraono clan purchased the land for an immense price, to keep it as a sanctuary. They have since opened the lands for all to travel through and enjoy.
Sadly, the generous spirit of the Toraono family would prove to be the fatal blow for this natural wonder. A bomb was placed at the base of a great crimson tree made of crystal. The bomb ticked away until the final second and then...
BOOM!
The world rocked from the combustive force of the explosion. The stones seemed to scream in agony as they cracked and shattered. The walls buckled and broke and the sands reclaimed the almost alien landscape and took back whatever secrets the Elderwoods maintained. The the shadows and beneath the rubble, twisted monsters clawed their way to salvation. What they were and where they would go would be a tale for another time.
The Elderwoods have been destroyed, all of the RP's from the area have been moved to the parent forum: Toraono Dojo.
Sitting just behind the Crystal Forest sits a serene lake. Its edges are without fault, creating a perfect circle which looks as though it was created rather than forming naturally. It’s waters are so calm and clear that you can see to the very bottom, where its bed is inlaid with crystals that light up and glisten like stars. When standing at the lakes edge, it seems as though you are looking down into a perfect night sky. The water of this lake, as well as being crystal clear, has a few mysterious properties. It’s naturally warm, although the lake itself is not connected to any underground hot spring or lava fissure. When one swims in its soothing embrace, they leave it feeling invigorated, rejuvenated and in the case of the injured, healed. How these happenings are accomplished, no one is certain, but it has been speculated that the waters properties can be linked to the crystals embedded in its muddy bottom. Because of this, the harvesting of these crystals is strictly prohibited and punishable by law. You’re welcome to go for a dip, but don’t touch the goods!
