Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

What condition Kane thought to himself as they walked through the village, keeping the chit chat to a minimal until he was certain they would be able to talk in private.

Kane walked and led Irotsuya to a ramen house that was off the normal path of Adventure street in Iwa. It was a small place and one that would be good for a private conversation and also a place that they wouldn't cause too much attention. Kane's ANBU escort stayed outside the establishment on a rooftop waiting for them to depart after their meal had concluded. The two would be able to have a private conversation for a matter that Kane was still unsure of.

They were sat at a table in the corner of the room where the room was bit more dim than the middle of the establishment. Kane sat down and waited for his previous Sennin to do the same. A waitress came by asking if they needed anything.

"A water for me and a bottle of Sake for the table please." The waitress would smile and nod and wait for Irotsuya to order anything. Once he did, if anything she would leave the table to go get the order.

Kane looked the man who used to be the sennin of a very powerful nation and spoke "What condition were you talking of at the gates... I have many questions I'd like to ask of you honestly... but I need to know that answer first." The man with Hyuuga eyes saw something wrong with Kane.

Kane just didn't know what... What did the Hyuuga see?

Hira, or Irotsuya as he had identified himself to Kane quietly sprawled out in the low chair allotted to him. Giving Kane an up and down, be observed the man as he ordered Sake and water. Lifting his hand to the waitress as she took off with his request, he signaled to her that he also required a cold water. It had been a while since he had hydrated himself in any fashion, and he was starting to suffer the consequences of being truly parched.

Thank you for the opportunity to have a private audience with you, Kane.

He smiled at the man, cupping his hands before him on the tabletop. Restaurants and Ramen bars were few of the places where he felt comfortable, as he always treated himself with fine dining in Kirigakure. Of course, this restaurant was a little more casual than his own personal taste would normally permit, but he was flexible above all. After his rude interruption of Kane's entrance at the gates, he had elected to take whatever formal meeting he had the pleasure to be offered.

It will be nice to enjoy a fine Junmai. It has been several months since I have had the good grace of a fine spirit within.

He laughed softly, with a slight heartiness layered within. His eyes were finding their own paths over his skin and through his armor and clothing, examining his weaponry and other physical details that seemed to be of note. This incisive examination was far from his main purpose, but he found himself in no better position to learn details about a potential enemy than the position he was in.

A good magician never gives up his tricks too easily.

He enjoyed the foreplay of a discussion. What was the use of 'giving it up' so quickly? He had information that was relevant to Kane's personal situation, and he planned to use it as a bargaining chip for information of intrinsic value as well. Equivalent exchange was the only thing that had any relative meaning anymore, he had begun to believe.

You'll have to excuse the establishment. Its a bit more run down than someone of your stature is probably use to. Its privacy is what I valued, not necessarily its notorious stature in the village." Kane smiled politely. The bigger named restaurants had too many customers and had too many that could look in on them and listen. Kane wanted to make sure they had their privacy. He didn't know what the Hyuuga saw with his eyes nor what condition he was talking about.

Irotsuya, though really known as Hira, gave a comment which stopped all conversation for a moment. Kane would have to give him something in order to get the information. Though with his hands tied with Helping Akechi and their goals... His time and resources were preoccupied and limited.

"And what pray tell will allow the magicians lips to become unsealed Irotsuya-san? My agenda is quite full at the moment with things happening in this very village. But I'm sure there is some type of arrangement we can make." Kane took a drink from the sake and would listen well. Kane needed to know what was going on. If Hira were to talk about Kane's Dark sage powers, he was wasting both of their times. However that gold looking chakra moving around in Kane's chakra system in his brain was still there and plain as day for the Hyuuga to see. What would be the cost of the knowledge of such condition?

Irotsuya turned his face from Kane for a moment, brushing his hair from his eyes. Such discourse demanded more than simple pleading to divulge, and the gentlemen he sat with bore a necessity. Now aware of something amiss within his own existential presence, it was unlikely that he would be sated with silence. Filled with the understanding of human nature, the crow bowed his head in contemplation above his water. The waitstaff quickly arrived with the sake, placing it on the table before the both of them with tiny porcelain mugs to imbibe from. Pouring Kane's sake first with direct eye contact, he gently slid the jug forward to him to customarily request Kane to pour his own. Luck was something hard to find in common times, and even superstitions were useful tools to achieving dreams in such a reality.

Oh, relax. The venue doesn't unnerve me. I simply feel out of place here for a multitude of reasons, but I will spare you those details. You are thirsty for a beverage of more pertinence.

While many likely considered themselves contrary typecasts of those who 'minced words', Nakamura Hira was not. He would be loquacious, dancing around the subjects that were of interest with a fiendish pleasure. The fun was in the chase, and he enjoyed being chased for things that mattered. In this case, however, answers were of vital importance.

I will not torture you with the pain of needling for my desires. They are my own, and they are tucked away somewhere far more tricky to locate than you would be willing to search. I for that matter wonder if I would even wish you to be conscious of such things?

He stared down at Kane's cup of Sake, waiting patiently as a means to prompt his own pour. Sake was one such thing that every participant drinking would wait for, and do so as patiently as necessary for their own slice of the pie. Irotsuya made no exceptions for himself. He needed the fortune.

I would understand your agenda being busy. The life of a Shinobi is a chaotic one, especially of those who bear our cross. You are not so blessed with the freedom to deny my request, however.

He chortled behind his locks of hair, seeing each strand reverberate lightly beneath the frequency of his voice.

I am not so sure you understand completely, but I will get to explaining in a minute. I don't enjoy to rush myself. After all, you haven't even poured my Sake yet.

He stared at Kane with a slight vacancy in his eyes. Perhaps he was implying something?

Kane sat in silence as the man of his kin talked. The more he listened to the words of this man the more questions erupted from his brain. Which question to ask first though? How to choose the correct one? How to word it to get an exact answer, one that cannot be danced around like a children's play in the academy?

Kane nodded him as he finished his words, pouring Sake for Hira as well "Excuse my mannerisms Irotsuya-san. I've been on my own for such a long time now, out in the wilderness and all, that something's have escaped me."

He made sure the cup was properly filled nearly to the top as it should be. He put the jug of sake back down on the table in the center for either person to grab. The thing that Hira, or Irotsuya rather, was leaving out that, Kane now knew he had some type of condition and it had to be chakra related due to the captains notorious Hyuuga abilities. There was more than just one Hyuuga that Kane knew. Also a few genjutsu users and a powerful Uchiha. Kane wouldn't be a fool to be backed into one corner and if Hira were to assume that then, there in itself is his own mistake. Not that Kane would voice this though. Not yet anyway.

"You have my attention Irotsuya-san. Or should I call you by your true name? I can play this dance as well. There are things of your past that I know of Captain of old. Things I'm sure this village's leadership would love to hear. Why don't we talk business though, I'm not one to oppose helping another person, especially a fellow Kin." Kane would say the words in a serious yet relaxed tone. Kane wasn't one to lollygag on a topic for too long nor play a waiting or stalling game. He was a direct person with specific actions for certain purposes. Hira probably could tell Kane had these qualities without being told by now though.

Clutching the sake in his hand, he whiffed at the surface of it. The scent of lightly fermented rice protruded into his nose, and overtook his senses for a moment. Kane was trying to jimmy his way into a well-guarded mental region, where no information would escape if he did not so choose to free it. He would wait as long as he wanted to share his observations. If Kane thought he was stubborn, Irotsuya was all the more.

It is normal to lose your grip on custom and tradition. To lose it on your common sense is another thing entirely, my friend.

He was being cryptic, as always. He enjoyed to dance around matters of importance. The anticipation of doing so was so exceptionally succulent, and it certainly never failed to disappoint. This was one such case where the information he held was actually valuable to the questioner. He looked deeply into Kane's eyes for a moment, viewing his entire chakra system in motion. It was truly magnificent to watch the human body operate, unbeknownst to the typical Shinobi. Who really knew what was going on beneath their flesh, and actually bore the intellect to dissect that information into something useful?

I am glad to at least have your attention. It has been too long since I have had the attention of anyone or anything worthwhile.

He joked with Kane. If he didn't know himself better, he would have called that an advance.

I am not concerned with what others think of me. No one can judge me at this point except for myself, for I am a free man with many voices quarreling within. They often yell too loud at one another for me to even concern myself further.

He closed his eyes, leaning back into his seat for comfort. He admired the man for a moment.

You bear the mark of another man's chakra upon you, that much I can visibly discern. Your mind is fraught with the distortion of another being's will.

He could see the energy of the symbol droning, as if it was weakening somewhere else in the world.

I would even say that it is the mark of a dead man. Some one ill or currently weak in physical status. The influence it has on your consciousness may even be translucent now. Perhaps you have been experiencing some odd transience of your memories?

He already knew there was a seal of some sort upon Kane, but he wasn't exactly sure what its effects were. Certainly he would be able to figure it out if he examined more closely, but he was not one for invading the privacy of another to a ludicrous extent.
