Nani got a mission pet sitting a person’s dog while they were in an important meeting. Nani babysits her baby brother all the time, so how hard could it be to babysit a dog for a few hours. It is the middle of the day where the sun was at its highest. Nani and Mimiru, the dog, are in The Tear-Drop Oasis on the prowl. The dog was of a tracking breed and Nani decides to play along and follow her. The both of them crawl down low with their bodies hidden in the tall grass. Only the dog’s long black tail can be seen poking out amongst the grass. Mimiru’s nose presses against the ground as she tracks the scent of her prey. Soon they come upon a big fat field mouse chewing on some grass seed. Mimiru’s tail lowers below grass level and they begin circling the mouse like a pair of tigers. The mouse lifts its head noticing the movement of the grass. The two stop and stay perfectly still. The mouse, not seeing or hearing anything, goes back to eating his seed. Mimiru them pounces and attempts to grab the rodent, but it slips from her grasp. The vermin runs away for its life, but Mimiru was quicker. Nani did her best to keep up. They stealthily circle ahead of the mouse’s path. The mouse stops thinking that it lost the predator after it.
Mimiru gets ready to jump again, when suddenly a pair of talons came swooping down from above. Luckily the mouse escapes its clutches. Mimiru and Nani look up to see a hawk flying high above. It seems that Mimiru was not the only animal on the hunt. Mimiru barks at the hawk angrily and the bird screeches back at her. Mimiru then puts her nose back on the ground and tracks down the rodents scent once again. She kept her tail down for she did not want to attract the bird’s attention. If that bird of prey wanted that mouse it will have to do its own hunting skills. After a minute of tracking the trail it stops and a new trail of a larger prey begins. It smells like a fox got to the mouse before them. Mimiru howls in protest. Looking at the sun position in was getting close to time anyways. Nani then takes Mimiru back to her home.
