Nickname: Taku
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Sex: Male
General Description: Takumi is a thin, tall young boy with silver hair that often covers his blue eyes. He is fairly tan, with a cut frame from swimming. He often wears black martial arts pants with white socks and standard black sandals. His shirt is white with blue sleeves, with images of a white lotus (the symbol of the Dokuyaku Clan) on each shoulder. Under his shirt, he has a form-fitted black shirt with a half mask covering his mouth and nose. He wears his Hitai-Ate loosely around his neck.
Taku is generally a reserved person, although he often speaks out when he sees something wrong. He can be sarcastic, and can come off as curt at times. He is often stubborn, rarely doubting his abilities. Takumi is a bright young man who is able to quickly come up with strategies in battle, and prefers to use his brain over brawn. He focuses on ranged attacks that minimize his risk. Taku will try to avoid conflict when possible, preferring diplomacy. He is quite clever, and enjoys games like chess and go. He is fluent in Common, the local Cloud Country slang, and Runic Terran. He loves to learn, and is quite capable of creating puppets and poisons.
History: Dokuyaku Takumi was born in the Sand Village, and lived there as a young child. Originally Arashi Takumi (nicknamed “Taku”), he was a member of a powerful clan that focused on puppetry and certain elemental techniques. As soon as he was old enough to walk, he would waddle over to fountains and any body of water, and would swim in the water. Unlike many Suna children, he enjoyed the water, and loved every moment he could spend near it, even baths. Because of his obsession for water, and the fact he loved to run off and explore, his parents named him Takumi, which means Pioneer of the Sea. His father was a very skilled puppet player from a famous puppet-using clan. His mother was a healer, and was known for her powerful antidotes, and her ability to make poisons for the clan. Even though Takumi loved water, the family lived in the Wind Country, where there was little water at all. Luckily, Taku's family was able to spend a short while at the ocean each year. At the beach, Taku was most happy. He loved the water so much, and could not have spent his entire life in the wastelands of the Wind Country.
When Taku was nine, his father went on a mission to Kumogakure no Sato. While there, he noticed how wonderful the land would have been for his son. There was no sand, and less chaos. Takumi’s parents decided that Takumi, with his natural affinity to water, would do best somewhere other than Sunagakure no Sato. Unfortunately, however, Taku's parents were not able to leave their village, since Taku's father was a Jounin, and his mother was a Chuunin, and a very skilled medic. The Sand Village still needed them. However, Takumi’s father met in secret with his wife’s family, and they agreed to adopt Takumi. When Taku's father arrived back and told them the news, Taku's mother was upset, but knew it was for the best for their son, who would not have done well in the underground village. Taku was to live with a kind family, who were master puppet makers, and relatives of his mother. Taku would be able to expand his knowledge of the puppets he used, and would one day be able to become a master puppeteer and a master puppet maker.
Takumi was very excited to leave. He left the day after his tenth birthday. He loved his family, but he needed to be at the water. His parents knew that, and respected his choice. Takumi’s parents faked his disappearance, and sent him by boat. In the desert this disappearance was not unprecedented, so the plan worked well. Taku arrived from his boat trip to the Tea Country two days after he left, and bought some tea to give to his new family, as a present for their kind hospitality. A few days after that, he was in Kumogakure no Sato. His new family was a very kind, somewhat elderly couple. Both their older daughter and younger son were old enough to live on their own, and both took up a job having to do with puppetry. Taku gave the family the box of fine tea, and they drank it the first night while his new father and mother spoke to him about the secrets to puppetry, and what he could learn with them.
Little did Takumi know at that time, but his new parents were specialists in both puppetry and poisons. They came from the Dokuyaku clan, a clan that was renowned worldwide for their puppets, but more importantly their special poisons. Because the Arashi clan had enemies, Takumi took his adopted parents’ family name and became Dokuyaku Takumi. His new family members were in fact the best poison users in the Water Country, possibly in the world. While there, Takumi would be able to learn to become the best puppet user he could possibly be.
