Name: Domen Nobu
Age: 11
Physical Description: Standing at 146.5cm in height and weighing in at exactly 40 kilograms, Nobu is about as average as they come physically. He has a round, youthful face, though it has been growing more narrow since his puberty started. He has almond-shaped, blue eyes with dark lashes, and dark grey, pencil-stripe eyebrows. His nose is somewhat smaller than average with a slightly upturned tip. Nobu's hair is a shock of white standing out in all directions, hanging all the way down to between his shoulderblades. Nobu's hair is always tied into a ponytail. For his clothing, Nobu commonly wears a dark blue sleeveless zip-up hoodie over a simple mesh shirt on his upper body, and plain grey pants underneath. He wears the footwraps and toeless sandals common to shinobi, in white and brown respectively.
Mental Description: The short of things is that Nobu is a cocky, impolite brat. He knows when to shut his mouth around teachers and other important people, but doesn't bother when around his peers and even certain authority figures. Nobu believes that he's the best of the best that Sand has to offer, and that he'll one day grow into the most powerful shinobi Sunagakure has to offer. He believes the blood of the First Men is particularly strong in himself, but he also just has a very high level of self-importance by nature. He doesn't care about approval or the thoughts of others, but about advancing himself.
This arrogance leads into overconfidence more often than not. "I can totally make that jump, guys" or lines like it are hardly alien to Nobu. It's only through other people intervening or his own blind luck that he has yet to end up seriously woulded because of his attitude. Nobu's youthful, naive and arrogant confidence seemingly makes him think he's invincible.
That's not to mean Nobu is entire unpleasant. Those who tolerate and play along with his impolite and bratty attitude will find him a social beast at heart. He enjoys hanging out with those he considers friends, though he has a tendency of dragging them along on 'adventures'. Nobu dreams of one day leading a team of Shinobi against the village's greatest enemies. It's not uncommon to find him shadowboxing with his own fantasized images of these vague enemies, interspersed with clumsy hand seals and imagined jutsus of great power.
History:
Nobu was born as the child of the wealthy but unimportant Domen family. Though primarily craftsmen by trade, the Domen family produced several Shinobi every generation. Their shinobi were often highly capable, but the family was small and often withdrawn from Sunagakure's society at large to become a true political force. They prided themselves in the purity of their blood, often arranging marriages with both clan-members and clanless based off their family trees and how closely related the wives and husbands were to the First Men.
Nobu was born as the child to a particularly promising couple. His mother was Domen Izumi, a shinobi who had to retire early into a promising career due to a chronic illness. His father was Uneo Takara, a local smith with no notable familial or clan associations but, as the Domen discovered through public records, a high level of 'purity' in his blood. The Domen family essentially bought Takara's hand in marriage with a hefty dowry, but Takara was a kind man who did not simply marry for greed. Love did bloom between the two, and eventually their child was born.
Domen Nobu was born healthy of body, unaffected by his mother's illness. He was raised by loving parents, but also by the rest of the Domen family. They told him his blood was pure, that he held the strength of the First Men. They did not want him to work for greatness - they knew it would come to him naturally. All these assertations affected young Nobu as he grew up, feeding his ego and leading to the terrible attitude he grew to have.
The rowdy, arrogant child made for a poor craftsman, and thus he was enrolled in the Shinobi Academy. At this point, he had already been shaped into a self-absorbed problem child - something not even the Shinobi Academy managed to shake out of him thus far.
