From what Kiyonori told them the person guarding the other base was just as sneaky, cruel, and underhanded as the one they had just faced. Mostly because it was his mentor, a mercenary or shinobi probably wanted considering the previous guys tactics. Moving with two of the men towards the second location he ordered the other two to take the scientist to the extraction and report it. This really wasn't part of their mission originally but they'd be loosing out on intel and the other hostage of sorts would be gone probably quite soon. Taking off his mask he’d need the extra breathing capabilities to make it in time he figured.
Unlike the assault this was an infiltration as they moved into the smaller secluded compound by the river, the fact there was less people around should have tipped them off when they started having to navigate, counter, or just wade through traps. Finding the scientist was easy enough considering; they found her on the floor flailing with an injury to their shoulder, a dagger imbedded deep into it. The man staring at them as they finally entered simply laughed at them like a mad man.
Kamaru quickly ordered the two to retrieve the scientist and give her medical attention if immediately necessary, if not to get them out of the complex as soon as they could as safely as humanly possible. The mad man injected several syringes into his chest as once and Kamaru told them time it was probably best to leave now. No one did weird stuff like that unless it was an ace card up their sleeve, they were working against time now. As the man moved to stand Kamaru felt something connect with his jaw knocking him into the air and away. A sudden jolt of air rushing out of his lungs had him trying to connect why it felt like he had been kneed in the stomach as well as he kicked out of the rumble he was in.
”You’re too late. They will die after I kill you… I need my pet back to make more. It’s working just fine. More then we, I, even imagined." As the invisible punch came this time Kamaru took it directly in the nose his face caving in his nose looking like it would break from the impact. As the fist reached the normal area of impact it kept going the fist ended up embedded in Kamaru’s head as mud slowly leaked from the wound. The man looked around realizing a scroll open on the ground as fire engulfed him. He started laughing again looking for the coward that didn’t know his skin wasn’t harmed anymore from fire. As he looked around he finally looked up to notice the seals on the ceiling marking out a pattern. He swore as the building above him collapse diving to the side at inhuman speeds at the wall. Flipping a protective case and smashing a bottom as the building collapsed on itself. He smiled to himself, he wouldn’t lose outright.
Outside Kamaru worked his jaw still sore even though it was healing slowly. He’d never meet someone who specialized in Genjutsu and Taijutsu and sync their tactics so well. Granted it seemed to boil down to setting people up for sucker punches but Kamaru didn’t complain since he turned tail and ran the first chance he got. As explosions behind him let him know the room and various other areas of the build he had stuck tags on finally exploded he sighed before hearing a screech behind him as something large came out of the river.
Radioing ahead he got the status of the scientist being stable and that they were transporting him to the extraction area. Kamaru told them that was good cus something big and nasty was still chasing him and he would catch up as soon as he outpaced the creature. Kamaru listened and acknowledged the suggestion from the rest of the strike force that was waiting on the odd ball who was the last to evacuate the area.
Kamaru figured something pulling out of the water couldn’t be that fast on land. He was quite wrong in the assumption. Using Lightening didn’t help as smaller versions of the creature had split off of it. Radioing his location as he moved through the canyon area and the creature’s fondness for electrocution got chuckles but at least they belonged to voices that were helping out. As the monster screeched behind him and smaller wails followed Kamaru side finally stopping to survey the downed abomination. The body of the monster was impaled by several spires of stone. As the body shifted the group watched it strike into the size of a human, the smaller versions turning just into gobs of meat.
When they looked at Kamaru he just shrugged explaining he really had no idea. He sighed as the order was given to take account for all parties and move out.
