'Anti-Terrorist? Shinsengumi?' Doi had never heard of such group existing among the shinobi ranks of Cloud. Still, such an entity would explain why the number of terrorist attacks on government leaders has been remarkably lower than one would expect for a military village of its magnitude.
In any case, it was revealed that these were the people that hired him for this job. How exactly he’d met their qualifications, Doi had no idea. All he’d gotten were some clear-cut instructions via a messenger a few days prior. Not something that necessarily required a physical mission scroll, but it was still strange to not have received one judging from the task’s importance.
Doi was skeptical of following the mysterious group but decided to do so after a moment of internal deliberation. The teen had to see his mission through to the end before he could call it a night - even if he didn’t necessarily want to. He trailed after the group before it reached the point where he would have to proceed blindfolded while gripping a coarse piece rope. Doi initially put up a fight when presented with the garment but conceded, nonetheless. These secretive types wouldn’t be willing to compromise, and an incomplete mission is a failed mission; at least by his standards anyway.
As they walked, Doi could gather a general idea on where they were heading based on the sounds he heard. Judging from the brushing of leaves and the sound of wildlife, they had to be somewhere in the Ancient Forest. Nevertheless, pinpointing an exact spot in the forest would be nigh impossible. It was a very large place, after all. Even he himself — an adventurous teen — had yet to see everything the Ancient Forest had to offer.
Eventually, the group of five came to a halt. This was when one of the three men in blue removed Doi’s blindfold. The first thing the teen laid his eyes upon was the shady looking building in front of them. It gave off some really weird vibes from the outside and to no surprise the inside wasn’t much better.
"Uhhh..." There weren’t any windows, and it was pretty dark.
While other men disappeared to a lower level via a hatch on the floor, Doi was given an explanation of what he was supposed to do next. Afterwards, he himself told to head downstairs and follow the others. The teen went over the questions he was given in his head.
1) Who are you?
2) Who do you work for?
3) What were his objectives during the protest
Luckily, these instructions were simple enough. Doi personally had yet to gain any experience in torture, but did not bother to refuse his role. It would’ve been as waste of energy since he'd have to do it anyway.
After starting to descend the steps, it took a moment for his eyes to adjust. The light down here being much brighter than what he’d been exposed to for the last hour or so. Doi ultimately came upon a strangely pristine white room. Judging from this, it was clear to see the entrance on the floor above was meant to throw off any potential passerby. Once the teen entered the room, he flinched as the door was immediately closed shut behind him.
“Yikes…” He turned to face the prisoner who was seated at a table in front of him; the criminal bound where he sat. Doi sat down at the chair he’d been presented with and took a deep breath; afterwards hardening his features to appear as serious as possible.
“Who are you? Where did you come from?” He observed the captured man’s minor movements.
“What were your intentions behind tonight’s events?”
