Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

There were many qualities that one must have when hunting prey, though of them all the ability to garner patience and silently stalk your target were traits that the Katai held dear. Resting in the underbrush of the woods, his body hidden among the shrubs and flora while both pupils of his icy gaze rested upon a grazing deer. One would be foolish to assume that his weapon was not already prepared for the kill as held tightly in his grasp was a simple hunting bow, one that had various carvings etched into the wood. It's string was fully drawn back, his knee dug into the ground for support while a single eye rested it's visual gaze straight behind the back of the arrow shaft. The arrowhead was rubbing against the bow's wood and hugged it tightly as the bowstring fought the strength of the male whom had pulled it fully back. He remained in this position for some time, his muscle endurance a testament to his training both as a hunter and as a shinobi. Opposite side of the deer a bird suddenly flew from the brush into the trees, catching the animal's attention from grazing enough for it to raise it's neck and turn an attentive gaze towards the source.

Silence gave way to a sudden disruption of the air as something sliced the wind.

The animal collapsed with the shaft of an arrow embedded deep into it's neck, the barbed ivory bone arrow tip having easily dug through the animal's pelt and into the muscle tissue. While the deer was not dead yet Kanki rose from his hiding spot within the shrubbery and walked over to the animal. He kneeled, placing a palm along the creatures side calmly stroking it's fur as he whispered to it. "Dauði þinn mun fæða mig í nokkurn tíma. Ekkert mun fara til úrgangs.", the words of his whispers followed quickly by a stone knife no bigger than his palm cutting with one motion between the animal's ribs right into it's slow beating heart ensuring it's life was dispatched quickly. His bow which was on his back was set aside as he began the task of harvesting what was needed from the animal. A leather bound bundle was unrolled revealing various tools, none of which were made of metal but all being handcrafted from stone and bone.

"This should keep me fed for some time..."

Junko had been hunting herself in the very same area. However her target was not the deer that Kanki had set in his sights. She had her sights set on a small animal, she learned to only kill what you could eat since she had no way to preserve the meat. So she would hunt every day... Every night while in the redwood forests. She remained in a hollow of a nearby tree, her arms crossed over her chest like she were laying in a coffin. Her stone dagger was clutched in her right hand as she leaned in those shadows of the tree. She was still almost as if she were dead. Her ears twitched at the sound of the bushes rustling due to the bird. She knew however that sound was not the sound of her prize, so she remained ever silent. Then the sound of the arrow flying through the air. The sound of a body hitting the ground. She could feel the vibrations of the creature echo through the ground. She had been training in using her chakra more to hunt now days and she found the earth element to be very helpful. She was still very new to the use of her chakra, in fact so new that even now she had trouble using it to sense vibrations in the ground.

Her body was so still, in fact she had nearly stopped breathing, causing insects and even a snake to have moved across her body on its merry way. She heard Kanki's words, a language that she was very much unfamiliar with. So much so that she slowly opened her eyes to look. She saw him hunched over the body of the dead deer beginning to do his hunter thing. She then moved her arms and legs slowly causing popping sounds in her joints from being still for so long. She had been standing there for nearly three hours without movement in an odd standing position. Kanki was sure to have noticed her by now do to that sound if he hadn't already noticed her in some small way. She walked forward out of the tree's hollow bending over to be on all fours as she saw the little creature she had been hunting now very aware of her presence and staring at her. She stared while being completely still before using her chakra to move faster then the small weak creature could react and stab it through with her stone knife, killing it quite quickly and without cruelty. It wasn't much bigger then a squirrel but it was her dinner for the night. She began her usual job of skinning the creature and pulling out the organs bit by bit, setting them off to the side with the fur of it.

All the while she was doing this she paid very little heed to the man, she felt a sort of... Hunter's instinct. She felt that if she didn't try to mess with his prey, he would do the same and they would move on after they were done.

He was impressed, the girl whom he had faintly sensed thanks to his status as a sensor had some primal skill when it came down to hunting. While he did not interfere with her quarry he did acknowledge her by giving a soft greeting in a head nod before finishing his field dressing of the deer.

Kanki was not trying to save the hide in it's completeness, so he laid the deer on the ground on it's side and worked the hide off of the exposed side. Then he took his short, stone knife and went to work it in right against the top of the vertebrae, slitting all the way along the back. Keeping the blade as close to the bone as possible for minimal waste of the meat, Kanki's precision was delicate as if he had an intimate knowledge of the animal's anatomy. Then after looking for what was obviously the bottom side of the long muscle the ran from the spinal vertebrae around the animal's sides he would slip the knife in along the tops of the ribs until the edge stopped at the base of the vertebrae. Working it along the length of the back at a right angle so that it met his first initial cut, Kanki removed a nice, long backstrap of meat. Among his hunting tools was a decent sized wooden bowl, which had been used as a collector for the blood that drained from the animal's wounds.

This blood would come in to play later on...

Leaving his kill momentarily, Kanki found himself harvesting a nice long, thick branch which he hung between two low hanging trees, before draping the wash backstrap meat along the rack. As he squatted back near his kill, wiping his knife off before beginning to work the hindquarter of the deer, he spoke towards the girl while keeping his attention on his current task.

"If you could get a fire going we could cure both our kills and start up on a meal. You're an interesting kid, unlike any others around here just like myself....I am sure we will find a lot to discuss, wouldn't you think? Though the best way for two hunters to converse is over a hot meal composed of their kills. Whadda'say?"

Junko really ignored what he was doing overall till he spoke to her. She nodded back and set about gathering some kindling and leaves to start the fire. She then began to grab dried wood from nearby trees that had some dieing branches. She arranged them into a pile and began to place the kindling in it. She then took a deep breath and blew into the kindling under the wood. A small jet of flame would spurt out from her mouth and lit it on fire. She would begin to blow giving the fire air to breath and grow in intensity. She had taken to training using her chakra in different ways. Maybe that would make her guardian proud if she could somehow use her chakra to fight or something. She had buried herself into a ton of books that she spent nearly days reading without eating, or much sleep. To be quite frank, this will be her first meal in three days. She could feel her hunger grow quite ravenous as she did that little spurt of fire. She was using up her body's remaining reserves of chakra, that wasn't good for her at all. However Kanki seemed to be a fellow person of the wild so she didn't mind helping out somewhat. After all, he carried a stone dagger like her so...

She then returned to her hunt and began to slice it up. She pulled off hunks of raw meat and began to eat it. She had no use for the fire for she had always eaten things raw and never once gotten sick from it. So why change her way? She did however miss the honey baked meat that Razu and her guardian used to make for her... but she was not deserving of that after her failure a few days ago in the class. She felt compelled to learn from her mistakes like Jiro had told her to. With pain and hunger being her only friends she had revered to being a wild creature, talking very little, but still retaining the knowledge that she had from all her studies... making her a bit more intelligent of a beast then the norm. After she was finished devouring -her- meal of the creature's meats. She grabbed the organs and tossed a few of them out to the bushes. The other creatures that could eat them would find them tasty... while she kept the heart of the creature and liver. She sat down in front of the fire and began to 'snack' on both, the blood dripping down her chin as her pale blue eyes were fixated on the fire.

Junko stood up and headed deep within the wooded growth. She had eaten her fill and helped a fellow hunter by starting his fire. She had a feeling that she had to hunt again... the hunger was once again building up inside her. So with a small motion and nod, she had walked off, slowly dropping down on all fours to run off into the undergrowth like a wild animal, using her chakra to enhance her normal speed, nothing as fast as her guardian, in fact it was very pale in comparison. That did not however stop her from practicing, she had to prove that she wasn't a waste of time for him. She had to grow stronger, and the only way she knew how... was by devouring things. What she would eat next, she didn't know, but whatever it was... was sure to taste sweet to her... heart and all... She left the animal skin behind as a gift to the man, as a thank you for keeping her company for the time they spent together, it was nice to meet a fellow hunter as always. Her hunting ways led her to the edge of the village where she caught a feral cat and devoured it quite quickly. She found that her hunger kept growing overtime and soon she feared that it may come back to hunt her later around her guardian. She still couldn't return home though, she still felt that she hadn't earned her spot in her guardian's house. She did hope however that, that day would come soon... So once more she headed for the rooftops and away, keeping the memory of how that man looked implanted in her mind encase she should ever meet him again.

[Sorry, shortish post, Just clearing up a slot for later. Left due to inactivity on Kanki's part.]
