Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The genin known as Ren would receive a small letter in the mail notifying him that he was being a called upon for duty. It would be his job to escort a civilian from the cold grasp of lightning country, to the warm and toasty fire country; more specifically, Konohagakure. Not the most exciting of missions, however, they were going to leaf country and there would no doubt be drama along the way. Knowing the nature of the world and how chaos liked to interrupt the peaceful nature of man, Ren was sure to look forward to a mission like this. Plus, any genin would be eager to get more missions under their belt for promotion.

The chunnin known as Asuchi wasn't currently in Kumogakure. He was out on assignment assisting honorable medical ninja's perform deeds that healers loved to do. Unless you were Kushin; then you liked to cut people up. Nevertheless, he was notified by headset that he was slate for this mission as well. A chance to visit leaf was a rare one indeed for a ninja. Could it be fate that he had the opportunity to visit one of the most technological places on earth? Or was it some alternative power in the sky who controlled everyone like Sims(tm). Time would tell...

That Kosei guy is a derp, and got the same kind of letter Ren did. Surprisingly, the little AiT filled out the squad in a way that was rare for Kumogakure. ANBU seldom traveled outside of their sorority, and when they did, it was because they did something wrong. However, this particular anbluu had been working the gates lately. So it was possible that he enjoyed the work of the main branch and just had given up on ANBU by this point. That's right ANBU, MAIN BRANCH FOR LIFE.

...anyways, let's focus on the task at hand...

Sumiko Sasaki.

According to the dossier that was given to both Ren and Kosei, she was a civilian whom was being relocated due to professional reasons. The company financing this transition was the Titan Corporation. But aside from details and recommendations* within the folder, it was up to them on how to proceed.

Ms. Sasaki would be waiting for her escorts at the gates, unaware of whom or how many would be protecting her against the harsh elements in the wild wasteland. She had a certain...aura about her though. One that kind of seemed distant as if she was constantly confused about something. Another way to think of it was this: she seemed like a ditz, and airhead, a clutz. Hopefully the group of shinobi would be able to help this poor young woman reach her destination without injury. But still, there was no disputing her beauty. While she may seem confused all the time, she had the body of a goddess-- whether she knew it or not. Perhaps that had something to do with why she was being located.

Would the mission get underway on time? How would the three men react to being alone with a good looking woman like Sumiko? Would they act like boys or professionals? The questions were endless, but could only be answered once things got underway.
Post for Exit.

Recommendations in the information: It would be wise to appear as if you weren't made of money. Disguises are recommended as to avoid the attention of bandits.

The life of a shinobi never allowed for rest, did it?

Asuchi had spend the better part of the last few years outside the gates of the place he called his home, Kumogakure. He was not adverse to taking the occasional mission, after all he was a shinobi, but it appeared that he would not get his dream of relaxing and catching up with the events of his home. A call came over his headset calling for his presence at the gates. Some B-rank escort mission for a woman named Sumiko Sasaki. He was to meet her and his other two teammates, a genin named Ren and an AiT named Kosei, at Dragon Tooth Pass, and from there they would escort her to Konohagakure. Seeing as he was not able to receive the mission dossier in person, that was all the information he had. Hopefully it should be enough to go on.

Asuchi eventually arrived at the gates, sighing wearily. He could deal with the bureaucracy of entering the village, only to turn around and then deal with it again to leave. That did not appeal to him. So, he simply set his things down and laid down on a rock just outside of the village. Hopefully the other two could manage to escort her out of the gates before they met up with him. He chuckled to himself. He had confidence in his fellow Cloud ninja. This should be a relatively easy mission, he figured, despite the fact that it was a B-rank.

I had put in a request to take a non-ANBU mission the day before, and as such, I awoke earlier than usual the next day to greet the letter he knew would arrive at the Jinkotsu Mansion's door. Of course one of my butlers immediately took the letter to me, and then returned to his duties for the day. A seal across the fold proved that it hadn't been tempered with... not that I had expected it to be. Some people just have concerns that when anyone other than the recipient of letters, it may possibly be altered or something of that sort. A B-rank mission, it would be--escort, of all things. A lady named Sumiko Sasaki requested to be transported to Konohagakure, the main shinobi village of the fire country. Attached to the briefing was a picture of her. She was attractive, if anything: blonde hair, and she really didn't look bad, for having it be a full-body mugshot-like picture. I sighed, took a the last couple sips of coffee from my mug, and shoved the rest of my toast in my mouth.
"What shall I do with any mail you receive while you're out, sir?" the butler who brought the message asked.
"Reply to what you can, throw out anything that's just junk, and save anything I'm needed for. It looks like I'll be out for maybe a week, ok?"
"Yes, sir."
I walked across the large reception area, pushed the door open, and began my walk to the village gates.

An escort mission wasn't optimal... I only put in for the mission because I needed more practice in fighting with Youko, and a B-Rank would be fairly easy. The unfortunate fart was that Youko and I couldn't totally cooperate with each other; even though we were thinking about the same things, focusing on the same goals, attacks were still uncoordinated. We were fine most of the time, but every once in a while an attack would go blatantly off-course. This wasn't a good thing--something like that may very well hit an ally in a fight. And an escort? I would have to keep Youko's use of my body to a minimum, for fear of hitting this Sasaki character. After all, I was supposed to be protecting her. I mentally told this to Youko, and he agreed... though he wasn't 100% for it, he understood and would refrain from causing a problem. His distaste was not unexpected; the whole reason he'd inhabited my body was so that we could fight together, and thereby making us both stronger. But he understood, and iI began to appreciate him more for his cooperation.

I arrived at the gates, but apparently I was the first one to arrive. Only Sasaki was present, dressed in... well, I don't remember right now. I'll tell you if I remember! Anyways... I walked up to her, my black hair waving in the cold mountain air as I approached. I was dressed in typical merchant attire, with a long, black, jagged scimitar strapped horizontally across my back. Bandages were wrapped around my arms and legs, for if it came down to running through brush, trees, or anything else like that. The bandages weren't for show--they protected against little scratches and abrasions from things like that. I didn't exactly look like a merchant, but I wasn't going for that look. I was just doing what the mission briefing advised: laying low, not looking rich. A typical tan top, and black pants were the highlights of what I wore, accented with black shoes and, of course, my Kumogakure headband hanging from a belt loop on my right side.
"Hello, Sumiko-san. My name is Jinkotsu Kosei, and I'll be one of your escorts to Konohagakure. Rest assured, you'll get there just fine!"

I mentally wondered where the other two were... I hadn't gotten there totally early, but... eh, I let it go. When they arrived, I knew I'd like to discuss our different capabilities. I was an avid Ninjutsu user, but I didn't know if they would also be the same. Hopefully we'd be a nice mix, but I'd take anything, really. As long as we could work together.

I woke up late. That was the first thing I thought when the sun peeked through my blinds and disturbed my slumber. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes as I blinked my vision into focus. I rolled over and faced my door to avoid the sunlight. I considered going back to sleep, but a small envelope was on the floor, must’ve come in the mail this morning. My mom probably slipped it under my door while I was sleeping. I literally rolled out of bed and let out a small “oof” as I hit the ground. I reached over and grabbed the envelope; opening it I realized I had a mission to do. Sumiko Sasaki, the civilian that needed to be relocated to Leaf. I let out a sigh, escorting people around wasn’t the mission shinobi like me were hoping to get. I saw the picture of the girl and had second thoughts about dreading the mission. The girl he was to escort was beautiful, and it was a long way to travel. They would have to get acquainted with each other sooner or later.

I finally got up off the floor, took a shower and threw on a pair of black pants with a black shirt and black shoes. I grabbed my older red coat off the back of my door; the color was dull so less attention would be drawn to me. I dodged my parents while I was getting ready to avoid too much questioning. I was finally ready to leave, but first I had to face my mother.

I approached her behind the counter of our bakery. Hey, mom I have a mission, I’ll be back in a week or so. “Oh, Ren, please be careful.. Come back in one piece, I’ll let your father know.” I snagged a basket full of fresh bread rolls and was out the door.

I approached the gates and saw whom I was to escort, and a fellow shinobi who would be doing the same. Walking over to them I introduced myself. Heya, I’m Ren, I’ll be escorting you along with this fine gentleman. I’d never met the Shinobi I was partnered with this mission but we would know each other after this week long journey. I vaguely remember reading there were supposed to be three escorts. Lets get out of the gates and then wait for the third escort, it might take a while getting out the gates anyway. Oh, anybody want a roll? He pushed the basket towards his companions.

Sumiko practically jumped into the air upon her name being said by Kosei. A hand was quickly brought to her chest to calm herself down, followed by a very embarrassed smile and red cheeks. "Sorry about that, I must have been day dreaming again. It's nice to meet you Jinkotsu-san." she said while bowing respectfully towards one of her protectors. As she stood erect, she once again was already bowing as Ren approached to introduce himself. "A pleasure, Ren." she responded softly as he continued to speak with an authoritative tone. Perhaps this was the leader of the escorts whom might be escorting her? She could only assume as much. When offered a roll, he eyes lit up like a child's on Christmas and her hands quickly reached for one to take. As they waited for a guard, she nibbled on it cutely.

"All right let's not waste time!" a man said, nearly shouting. Snagging the three passports he checked them all out, and places marks of approval on each before handing them back. "Good to go! Don't dawdle on your way back or we will send the ANBU after you." he threatened with a smile before leaving.

Sumiko looked to the two men with a smile, and a small hiccup. "Time to go I guess!" she said, and started trotting out the gate.

[[Make your exits, and make sure you have all left RP topics in lightning country before moving to fire country]]

Sumiko had a mini heart attack when I addressed her... which didn't exactly give me the best first impression of her. And her later reaction when offered a roll by Ren, another of the three escorts, was a bit childish, to say the lest. I hoped that the entire trip wouldn't be like this, that she would calm down, per se. I didn't expect anything to happen, but if we were, say, attacked by bandits, dealing with her freaking out would be one more thing to deal with. If she was this hyper now, seeing her when shit hit the fan wouldn't be desireable. But, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, and chalk it up to nervousness. Why did she need protecting anyways? People traveled to Konoha all the time...

Anyways, a guard hopped down and let the three of us out. Nodding to him, I walked out with Sumiko tagging cosely behind, and Ren, I assumed, was somewhere behind me as well. Note: I didn't leave before I took one of the rolls Ren offered. They were... perfect. Golden brown. Crispy outside, warm on the inside. The only fault I could find in them was that they weren't big enough! I wanted more!
As I walked out, I quickly noticed a guy lying down on a rock, typical shinobi gear (from what I could see). He looked to be about my age, twentyish, and... well, he looked a lot like me. Same hair length, hair color, age... we were wearing different stuff, but that didn't take away from the effect. It was a little weird at first.

"You here for an escort mission?" I called out to him. Hopefully it was he, and we wouldn't have to wait any longer before we left.

My eyes lit up as a huge smile formed on my face while the two devoured the bread I had brought. The basket was still relatively full; we’d have enough bread to last a while. I followed Sumiko and Kosei out. We got through the gates slowly, everyone let out an unsure chuckle as the gate guard threatened to send the ANBU after us if we were gone for too long. Maybe it wasn’t a joke, the ANBU seemed to get thrown around a lot.

None the less our trio was out the gate, upon exiting we saw a man similar looking to Kosei laying out on a rock and Kosei called out to him “You here for an escort mission?” hopefully we are lucky enough for this to be the guy, I am so ready to get moving. And, do you want any bread? I added in to Kosei’s question. I didn’t want to be carrying around bread for too long. It’ll only be warm for a little longer! Would either of you like another?

Asuchi may or may not have nodded off while waiting for his team to make their way through the gates. All this traveling was taking a toll, okay? Shut up.

Anyway, his dreams were interrupted when he heard a voice directed at what he could only assume was himself. He was in fact here for an escort mission. Opening his eyes but not sitting up, Asuchi glanced at the group of people leaving the gates. Two of the three definitely looked like they could be his teammates. One looked vaguely like a merchant, but he had a long blade strapped across his back, and bandages around his arms and legs. Definitely not normal merchant attire, and there was a headband hanging from his belt that marked him as a shinobi. The other seemed to have on all black, save for a dull red coat. He guessed they were both going for a nondescript look; it would be a good idea to not draw attention to themselves during this journey. Asuchi hadn’t gotten the dossier to tell him this, and even if he did he didn’t have time to go change anyway. However, his dark grey peacoat was unkempt already from spending so much time outside of the village, so he would probably fit in just fine. He made a mental note to ditch the scarf in his bag however. It suggested a bit more of a high class look.

Before he could respond to the first shinobi’s question, the second one spoke up, ”And, do you want any bread? It’ll only be warm for a little longer! Would either of you like another?”

Asuchi smiled. An easy walk through the countryside? Topped by the fact that this Sumiko was quite the looker? AND THERE WAS FREE BREAD? This promised to be a nice relaxing mission.

”I am here for an escort mission. You’ll have to forgive me, I didn’t feel like dealing with the gate guards twice back to back. Morikou Asuchi, I’m the third ninja assigned to this mission.” The last part was directed at Sumiko, his smile becoming just a bit wider. ”And I would love some bread, thank you!”

Asuchi hopped up from the rock, bundling his scarf up and stuffing it in his sling bag. He gratefully took a piece of bread, and after a bite turned back to his teammates.

”So, let’s get moving!”
