Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Lightning Show

During the First Shinobi Age the village of Kumogakure was rebuilt and after four hundred years the stories tell of how it was placed under judgement by Raiden. The village failed the judgement and was decimated under a great blast of electricity. The village was all but decimated as many more bolts rained down across the mountainside. It is said that it was both terrifying, and wondrous.

Through the efforts of the surviving Santaru, the storm was quelled, and the village was again rebuilt, but this time placed under the leadership of the Kagetsu Clan which lasted eight hundred years as Monarchs of the village.

There were those that saw beauty in the destruction, and to immortalize it for all eternity the Lightning Show became a regular event during the annual festival. Thus the Lightning Show was born.

Stalls of food and drink are set up in the Susukino District, as well as some simple stall games. In the center, around the fountain, an area is taped off to regular citizens. Shinobi, however, are brought forth, where they display their lightning jutsu in homage to Raiden.

Some may keep to themselves and display their own tricks, while others could pair up and perform acts together. Some play-spar, while others still make the very skies rumble above. Much like the legend, the show is both terrifying, and wondrous as advanced shinobi reveal the true extent of their lightning prowess.

There is a prize to the winner this year though as the Raikage has created a weapon with mastery over the element and put it forward to be won. Perhaps with this encouragement the amount of shinobi taking part will increase, the display being ever more fierce under the dark Kumogakure skies.

[OOC: Post entering the topic and showing off some fun lightning skills. You may have fun and make up whatever you like, but remember to be aware of your surroundings. ANBU are stationed, so if anyone gets out of hand, they may be removed, and possibly punished depending on what they do.

To take part in this event you need to do one of two things.

Option 1: Create a CRPJ according to the CRPJ rules.
Option 2: Reflavour a jutsu your character currently has access to.

Try and be as creative as you can with what you're doing, and remember that this event will go through to the 1st of November. Voting will begin on the 15th of October, so you have plenty of time to come up with a good CRPJ and get it through Council before the polls open.]

Forged by Akira Saito as a prize for the winner of the Lightning Show event taking place during the festival this sword is much more than simply a standard blade. Forming an artificial chakra network through the blade enables it to store a limited amount of chakra, but specifically it can only store chakra of a Lightning nature. When charged with a Lightning Jutsu the blade lights up as the element crackles up and down the blade. The forked end allowing the weapon to catch incoming lightning jutsu, protecting the user and allowing them to either convert it into chakra for themselves, or reflect the attack back on their opponent.
Weapon Name: Storm Eater
Damage Type: Piercing
Accuracy: +2
Damage: +10%
Effects:
  • Lightning Jutsu (only) can be cast without handseals using this weapon, including A-Rank jutsu.
  • Any lightning jutsu channeled through the weapon are cast with Melee Accuracy
  • If attacked by Lightning Jutsu and this weapon is equipped the user may make a basic attack, striking with their Melee Accuracy against the accuracy total of the jutsu, if successful the jutsu is dispelled and instead stored in the weapon. A maximum of 1 Jutsu may be stored in the weapon at a time and while a Jutsu is stored inside it any further attempts to use this ability have no effect.
    • With stored jutsu the user is able to convert the total damage the jutsu was cast at into chakra for the AP cost of the jutsu (no chakra cost)
    • OR
    • With stored jutsu the user is able to 'cast' the jutsu at their opponent at the same total damage it was cast at for the AP cost of the jutsu (no chakra cost)

Note:
  • A Cloud Event Weapon cannot be used to this same effect outside of a Cloud Event, however whenever an event being run by Cloud Council is taking place and you wish to use it you can.
  • You are also able to use this weapon to create a Custom Weapon of the same name which will give it an "in Battle" effect, our suggested build and augment for that is below but you do not need to go with this.

Tomo took in a breath, his stomach turning as he did so. Performing was never something he fretted much about. If something went well, great. If it failed, better luck next time. However, he wouldn't have that luxury this time. There was a prize on the line, and Kimiki had made it very clear that it was a Mochizuki that needed to bring home that reward. Failure to would result in a thousand lashes, maybe more. Probably some Genjutsu mind horrors along with it, to really dig in the amount of rage she would hold within her tiny body. His stomach churned again as he looked at the stands of food. He was hungry, but feared regurgitating it all back up while on stage. That would definitely ruin his chances at that prize.

Finally mustering his courage, Tomo approached an ANBU guarding the entrance to the planned stage. "I'm ready." The person gave a nod and allowed the Mochizuki male entrance. He jumped onto the stage and looked out over the crowd. He needed to impress...who did he need to impress? The crowd? The Raikage? It didn't matter, he just needed to be good in general. He took one last deep breath before beginning.

He started with the hand seals required for Thunderdome. However, he did them at a slower pace to weaken the move. He also pulled at his chakra, urging it to hold back. Already a bead of sweat formed on his brow. After a few seconds, a small dome formed around the young man, its surface see-through. Purple electricity coursed within its glass outline as well as within the electrical field itself. With his Static Dome formed, Tomo began his routine. He flowed through different poses, at first going slowly, only to snap just as he reached the desired position. Around him, within the dome, lightning would shoot parallel with these movements, making his actions all the more intense. He lightly winced at the zap to his back, but continued nonetheless. He did a lot of arm chops, a few sharp kicks, along with a back flip at one point.

At the end of his presentation, he snapped his arms outward to either side of him, slamming his palms against his dome. The impact shattered it, causing what looked like shards of electrical glass to shimmer to the ground. They made quiet tinkling noises upon making contact with the stage, before evaporating into lingering chakra. He gave a bow to the crowd, his heart racing from the exertion. He hopped down and went straight for the teriyaki vendor. He was starving.

Laughing amongst the crowds of people, it was nice to see that the susukino district was in good shape. Especially after him and his sensei stopped the blood demon king from destroying it. The Chief was enjoying family time. It was his children's very first lightning festival and he'd make sure they'd enjoy it. His family traveled to dozens of game areas, food stands, and other stalls. They all seemed gleeful. Karin chuckled as the twins jumped for joy at almost everything. They were energetic, and always curious of the things around them.

Often, they seemed intrigued and inspired by their father. Often, they played doctor or ninja. Shaking his head, Junko seemed a little bothered. More than likely, it had something to do with his empty pockets for the moment. He wasted a great load at some of the game stands trying to impress his family. He should've known that some of them were scams. No matter, everyone at least had a prize to go home with. Except Junko, but he didn't need one. Making his family happy on this delightful day was the best gift he could ask for.

Soon, sparks began to fly, people began to cheer, and thrill filled the susukino district. "Well, the Annual lightning shows are beginning." Junko said as his family was making it through the dense crowd. Sadly, Yoshi couldn't make it. Well, at least make it to have fun. A funny feeling told Junko that that he was on guard duty amongst the others. Surprisingly, Tomo was the first to kick things off. Chuckling a bit, analyzed him. "For him to be performing, I'm guessing he's better at lightning then he is at earth." Junko thought clapping as he made his way to the center of the planned stage.

As he began his presentation, the twins watched with their eyes and mouth wide open. Apparently, he was using an alternate version of the thunder dome, one of the greatest and strongest lightning techniques known to skilled shinobi. His control was well displayed as he didn't allow the size to increase too much. "Nice." Junko thought with a few nods as Tomo executed a few stunts. Slamming his hands on the dome at the end, electricity began to fly, and the sound of the crowd went wild.

Clapping, Junko cheered him on with many others. "Great Job out there!" Junko said before looking at the twins behind him. They were pushing him with all their might.

"Go Papa! Show us your stuff please! You're good at lightning!" the twins said in unison.

Baffled, Junko shook his head as Karin giggled. "No no no no no. Now boys, let's ..." Junko said kneeling to them.

"Pretty please papa!"

Looking at Karin, she shrugged. "Well I guess. Just for you guys." Junko said with a smirk. Simultaneously, the twins cheered and began nudging Junko to enter the stage. "Alright alright, I'm going. Stay here with mama." Junko said walking towards one of the guards. After a quick discussion, they decided to let Junko perform. It wasn't his particular cup of tea, but he'd make sure to put on a show for his kids. Holding his stomach, he was okay. Surprisingly, he wasn't nervous. "I guess the twins are giving me strength." Junko thought as the show was about to begin as the crowd became hushed in anticipation.

Spontaneously, a typhoon of fire twirled toward the center of the stage. Once reached, minuscule amounts of lightning began to cover the firry tornado. Focusing his chakra on the wind affinity, Junko strengthened the tornado, causing it to become chaotic and extend towards the sky. Stopping his rotation in the center of the stage, Junko dispersed the fire with a single wave of his arm. The prodigy brother had made his entrance and heat was circulating all throughout the air. Everything was set.

nvdqpc.jpg

Focusing an immense amount of chakra in both his hands as he held them together, chakra began to circulate his feet. His eyes remained closed as the sky was already beginning to darken. The large amount of heat he sent up along with the electrical current was definitely meant to start things up. Soon, the sound of thousands of birds chirping could be heard. As lightning was beginning to crack the sky, Junko slowly began extending his hands, separating the chidoris into two. "Alright. Twins, enjoy the show!" Junko thought raising his hands. Reacting, the lightning from the sky surged even more. "Let the lightning show begin!" Junko said Slamming both his hand to the ground. bolts of lightning ranging in various colors shot from the sky.

Loud crackling shockwaves of electricity was sent through the air as it seemed like Zeus was sending them himself. The colors illuminated the sky as Junko smiled, but the show wasn't over. Tightening his hands from the intensity of the chakra, the current began flowing through the ground a bit. Quickly standing and forcibly slapping his hands together, the bolts began to shift towards each other and become one Just like his chidori. Raising his right hand bearing the chidori toward the sky, it began to change. The color went from blue, to black, intensifying in power and density. Just as Junkos chidori did, so did the lightning bolt, except I went under a specific transformation. The bolt morphed into some sort of Dragon beast that roared from the heavens as wind began to pick up. "Black Lightning show." Junko whispered as he snapped his fingers.

Simultaneously, the black lighting dragon beast roaring from the heavens exploded in dozens of explosions filling the temporary dark sky. Sparks floated about greatly similar to fireworks with each thunderous boom. "Happy Lightning Festival." Junko thought putting his hands in his pockets as he began making his exit. Looking back one last time to enjoy the view, Junko smirked. Hopefully the twins enjoyed.

Only two other main contributors showed up for the longest while to this glorious event. Shisokoku had studied and praised Raiden for his magnificence, but this? This event, this display, it was causing him to nearly drool in excitement to honor him in another way. He just couldn't help himself but get worked up over this, he wanted to have the most bombastic and impressive thing in the entire village! He wanted to respect the god of lightning with his own skill and talent, make the very sky sing in his glory! The only regret he had was that Tomo was also competing his show. Maybe he would give the prize to him if he won, who knows? Shisokoku was really just doing this for the glory and pride of the event.

Shisokoku watched silently though with exploding excitement as many shinobi went up. He had ideas, constantly working them off each other until his thoughts would pulsate and burn with one perfected ideal. He watched Tomo form the electric dome of glass, shattering it in glory and beauty. The transmutation and coping the effects of glass? By Raiden himself that was ingenious! A smile came to Shisokoku's turn, tapping his foot and wiggling around in excitement. The next one was a man he did not know, but he did admit he tended to stay in his studies way to much to remember that many people. Flames boiled and moved up in a tornado of color, before exploding upwards to formulate and stimulate the clouds. A few seconds of awe came from Shisokoku for he knew what was about to happen, the Kirin! His eyes were widened like a child when the bolts of rainbow colored lightning rippled through the sky, birthing forth a pitch black dragon. It exploded forth, causing even more colorful explosions to coat and overwhelm the sky. Amazing. For a second Shisokoku thought how he was going to top that, until he realized a important detail. He didn't have to! It was all in good fun, plus it's not like he's trying to win eh? Just honor Raiden, that't all that matters...
Let the act begin!

Shisokoku silently wandered up to the stage with his other bodies, Hisui the colorful and Yatagarasu the winged, as if they did not belong to any realm of reality. All three of them stood as far away from each other as they could possibly be on stage, gazing towards each other with crazy smiles that echoed a false malice. It was time to give their all for the crowd and Raiden! All three of them screamed their shout towards the Heavens with raw pleasure and joy, "Avatar of the Star Forged!" Shisokoku twirled first on stage, his chakra ripping forwards like a Sussano to form a giant Phoenix made of lightning. Golden lines came from his spinning frame to form a outline of the beast, before more details began to fade into existence. Golden sparks jutted from its vast outline, coating nearly the whole entirety of the stage while Hisui glowed with red, and Yata with blue, their chakra flooding in lines to the sky. The Phoenix soared above the stage, its long trailing feathers raining tiny droplets of electricity into the crowd. The droplets were bright like sparklers, exhausting themselves well before they could reach a few inches from even the tallest man to be on the safe side. The colossal beast screamed with the ferocity of thunder, as untamed as plasma itself illuminating the world. It melted away into the stage, leaving a large pool of sparklings that surrounded it's summoner with echoes of it's past form, Shisokoku. He wore the mask of the plague doctor while the rest of his clothes were that of a knight made of lightning, bright, bold and sharp. The jagged and powerful armor roared with the beast, echoing its might in a much more calm tone. It sung out once more, forging around it the lightning phoenix like a slender devil, wrapping its wings in to claim its thin land around it's master.

It was now Hisui's turn to try and impress the crowd. She leaped into the middle of the stage before reaching high into the sky. She shouted like a actor, "Raiden! Bless me with a treasure of the Heavens so I can defeat these peasants! Let me honor thou!" Within moments, crimson lightning exploded from the sky that united with Hisui's hand. The lightning screamed like a devil, zapping outwards and coating the stage in stray lightning, but never escaping the very edges. The bolt of angered lightning took a few movements to focus its rage, but once it did all of the lightning arced into Hisui's body. She screamed in agony, dropping down to a knee before slamming the lightning down, letting it fly back into the sky. She took a few moments of breath, before Shisokoku stood next to her. He roared out with lightning pulsating to his voice, "Mistress, why do you waste Raiden's time? You will never defeat me! Become one with the ashes..." Shiokoku turned his back to the woman, but Hisui roared in anger. She thrusted her hand straight into the air, forging the lightning bolt once more. This time, she crushed the lightning bolt into a sphere. The sphere roared in outrage, but grew around Hisui until its anger could become personified. It became a giant serpent of power, burning dark crimson with crackling lightning. The battle began with a bang!

Thunder roared out as the Phoenix and Serpent went to war. The Serpent began the brawl by swallowing a bolt of lighting before firing out a explosive burst of red lightning that connected with the heart of the Phoenix. The bird raised it's wings to shield itself, stepping backwards under the pressure. This was a mimic of the battle below, where Hisui accepting a bolt of lightning from the sky, Raijin's Vengeance, before elongating it like a Emperor against Shisokoku. The lightning was violent, untamed, but most of all destructive. Shisokoku twirled with golden glory, spinning like any Hyuuga would. The lightning coiled around him, turning into a bright gradient of crimson orange. Shisokoku roared, "Not even the Rain Transformed will save you! I was born from it, molded by it! You simply stole it from the Heavens..." Shisokoku stole the lightning, turning into a dome of thunder. The thunderdome was bright gold, but was straining against the scarring crimson wrath of Hisui. Hisui snarled out her comment back, "Let us dance then in truth! The holiest of lightning, the one that comes straight from the Heavens!" Both of them stopped their attacks before twirling backwards to channel their chakra to the sky.

The Phoenix and Serpent obeyed their masters, leaving each other to coil around he who summoned it. Another few moments would pass in silence before the Serpent and Phoenix would fly into the sky, moving around each other in a double helix formation. Their lightning bolts roared and ravaged each other while they could, but they vanished into the sky. Golden and crimson blasts echoed their ravenous war, but nothing came seemed to happen. They both held their hands high to the sky, awaiting the glorious blast that would aide them. The gods themselves raged on, exploding to the surface in massive shapes. On Shisokoku's side was the Phoenix, transformed into Bird of Oblivion that foretold devastation. Its body was pitch black except for golden spots running down it's wings and it's eyes. On Hisui's side, the serpent turned into a giant elongated white dragon. Crimson cursed marks ran down it's body, but it held a more tame and enlightened form compared to before. The beasts of chakra and lightning reared back, twirling around the stage one final time.
tumblr_mx3flj2khs1s2z05xo1_500.gif
The masters flew forward, both forming Chidori Control and slashing the other. Swords clashed and lit the area around themselves, but neither came close to hitting their mark of flesh. They both back flipped, Shisokoku unleashing senbon while Hisui unleashed her current. Both exploded against each other, sending both flying beasts into a larger pattern. They grew faster and faster, until they both flew once more into the sky. The crowd did not have to wait long, for they both flew absurdly fast into their masters. Shisokoku and Hisui accepted the Kirin of the Heavens, forming a aura of raw lightning around themselves. Both of them formed the maw of a Golden and Crimson Dragon, attempting to swallow the other whole before becoming just a tidal wave of lightning. The lightning grew brighter and brighter, the struggling moving back and forth, before Yata stepped in behind them. Her beast formed behind the struggle as a giant man of lightning. She screamed as loud as the thunder, so loud that nothing came from her maw. Moments later the sound would boom from around village towards them...
"...I am Raiden, the Rain Transformed..."
She raised a single hand, ripping all the lightning from Shisokoku and Hisui into herself. The lightning became twin dancing dragons around Yata, who sent them flying back into the sky, forming a large hole in the dark storm. Light came from the hole down on Yata, her body illuminated by her purple electric robes making her look like a royal sage. Shisokoku and Hisui fell to their knees in defeat, staring down to the ground in shame. The final second of breath happened before the Avatar of the Star Forged ran out, evaporating around themselves upwards like trailing off a flame. All three of them in unison spoke, "Thank you all for letting us do our show!" The giddy three ran off stage, smiling with raw joy lining their faces.
