Fumika has been doing experiments to improve her power by fussing beings into herself. Her first attempt was a failure; she separated again with the entity in less than a day. Her last test subject was a puppet she used her seals of power to give it human intellect. She thought it would be enough to satisfy the spell, but obviously she will need to use something that is unquestionably alive. This is why she enters into the dark abandon mineshaft. There are quite a few creatures here hiding in the darkness; surely they would gift her with heighten awareness. Of course, like always, she take her pet hawk with her. Now most people would wonder why she is going through the trouble for she has a perfectly good animal right there. The answer is that she did not have the heart. She has drawn close to Yuki and relied on her greatly, so she could not afford to sacrifice her in such a manor.
The mines were like a labyrinth going deeper and deeper into the earth. Unwilling to get lost in the caverns forever she decided to keep in the beginnings of the mines. The light of her lantern causes the bats to stir from their slumbers. They swarm around flying away in different direction. Yuki springs into action; winging one with her sharp talons and carried it to her master. The tiny beast had fang which it used to suck the blood out of its victims. “Yes I believe this will do nicely.” Fumika stomps a foot on the ground and immediately a magic circle appears beneath her feet; the lines glow a dim crimson red. In the center of the circle was two five pointed stars overlapping one another in circle. That circle was in a 12 pointed star which was in another circle. On the left side of the stars was a crescent moon and on the right was the sun. Runes filled the empty space between each point of the outer star. The bat was placed on the moon while Fumika stood on the sun. “Activate.” The crimson light begins to brighten until it completely envelopes the two standing on the seal. The light then vanishes along with the seal itself and in its place stood Fumika alone. Unlike the previous experiment that changed her appearance dramatically, this didn’t change her appearance at all. But she could feel the powers; she was like a chimera with access two sets of abilities.
