"Mawhn, iss hohh..."
*translation: "Man, it's hot..."
And it sure was! Sunagakure was a nice village and all, but the heat coupled with the whole, "being in a cave" thing was enough to make you feel like you were in a pressure cooker. Natives to Wind Country never seemed to mind and went about their day like it was no big deal, but for a foreigner like him a day like today was relentless. It seemed to sap the energy right out of more weak-willed individuals. Gun wasn't lying when he said this place had one of the best natural defenses in the world. If the heat didn't get ya, the endless sands definitely would...
But despite a little excess sweat, the lad seemed to be his usual high-spirited self. He strolled along the streets of Sietch Zensunna, a sea-salt flavored ice-cream treat dangling carelessly from his mouth. One of the stall-owners nearby had been nice enough to offer the obviously foreign young man a free sample, and his gluttonous subconscious all but willed him to accept. The boy had been provided a protective robe by one Byakko Kyuji to help shield his body from harmful sun rays (whenever he deigned to explore the areas surrounding the village), but he quickly discarded it in favor of a red Hawaiian floral-patterned shirt and blue shorts. His trusty straw sandals did their job in protecting the soles of his feet. And he even managed to find some sort of headwrap that helped keep sweat out of his eyes. It was "too hot" he'd said, not being able to wrap his brain around the fact that covering up in these kinds of extreme weather conditions would actually keep you cooler in the long-run. But all things considered, he seemed to be managing. His attire suited his needs just fine, but it absolutely screamed tourist. Villagers and shinobi alike knew how to dress for maximum comfort and protection, and he well...didn't.
Good news is, his horrific sunburn he received on his life-threatening trek to the village was all but gone! The good doctor that patched him up said that all he needed to do was take it easy for a few days. You'd think almost dying of dehydration and exposure in the desert would serve to smarten someone up...but not this guy! Since he entered the village he'd been getting up to all sorts of crazy stuff. But nothing that served to further his goal. His err..."traveling companion" was MIA once again, and he had no idea how to get a hold of anyone important short of running from person-to-person and literally shaking them for information (which, believe me, he'd tried before...). First he had to find Gun. Or maybe the Kage. Or some food...he WAS starting to get a bit hungry. Whatever he decided on, he would no doubt achieve with his legendary extreme focus and determination. But there was just the one small issue of- "...where am I?"
...well, yeah...that.
Upon impact the foxlike girl tilted the box she was carrying, emptying its contents all over the ground. Littered all over were bugs, all shapes and sizes of leaves, weird bottled liquids...it was like a nature lover's wildest dream. Or a mad scientist's. Either one. But what caught his eye wasn't the strange assortment of goods he assisted in dumping all over the street. Rather it was something else entirely. A little ways off to the right and on the ground. His heart. His joy. His stick of sea salt-flavored ice cream.
Her eye brow twitched.
Yeah that tantrum? It was back. A frown took hold on his face as he stomped forward, bringing his angry head dangerously close to Azusa's.
At a nearby restaurant, somebody exited via a curtain used to block off the door. This somebody was tall and wide as well, easily towering over the trio and even most people who passed by him. A head of what used to be vibrant rose-colored hair would be the first noticeable thing about him, though it appeared to be graying. While a beard of the same color covered his face. He was garbed in a red floral shirt similar to Keiatsu's except his was buttoned up properly. The figure kept his hands in his pockets as he wordlessly walked towards the group of squabbling kids. Riyota spoke, offering the both of them a solution to end their argument. This was enough to make Keiatsu stop his itch dance (if only for a moment) and look at the boy.
Perhaps another time?)
