Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
Kyo began to frequent the hotsprings more and more lately. His 'integration training' forced him to remain more and more clean, bathing daily and performing the most basic hygiene routines. His skin started to look clearer, his teeth started to look cleaner (albeit, still crooked as all hell), his hair started to have shine and volume, and his smell was less 'distinct'. The steam drifted up from the steaming hot water; contrasting the cold winter air above it. He ended up strolling into the 'co-ed' bath, not understanding the definition of 'co-ed'. Thankfully, he was alone in the bath at the moment. He turned his eyes to the far-side corner of the bath towards the large direwolf that was sitting atop a rock within the hotsprings. The water was just a little too hot for the direwolf. [lb2][/lb2]
With a toothy grin, Kyo dipped his hands into the water and splashed some of the water at Dakota, the direwolf's, direction just missing her by a few feet. The wolf simply stared at Kyo with angry eyes. "The water is fine, Dakota. You don't HAVE to be in cold water all the time. Besides, it'll help you relax a little bit and make your coat glisten. We don't live on the Spine any more, so we have to look presentable now-a-days," he said with a bit of a grumble. Integration into human society was a lot of work. He had to do daily rituals of cleaning and he had to try to care about others' feelings. While he still doesn't care what they have to say, he still attempts to empathize with them, as hard as that was. With a little bit of a chuckle, Kyo sprawled out, letting himself sink further into the warm water.

"..." Ever hear a silence that sounded annoyed? Because this one was. If the look on the boy's face didn't relay his mood then the tension in the air that he seemed to carry around with him certainly did. He shook his head as finished piling up his clothes on a bench in the men's locker room. "What'd I get myself into?" a good question. Unfortunately he wouldn't know the answer for a while yet. This was the first time he'd ever been to one of these onsen things. Hell, outside of running Missions for Kumo he barely ever ventured outside of the Cronopolis. It was his home. And he definitely didn't fit in with the middle- to upper-class crowd anywhere else. He definitely didn't want to be here. But his sister made him promise he'd take some time to relax. Between running his trivial Missions for the village and handling dealings with the Ku-9's, he didn't have much leisure time. Oya noted this and wouldn't leave him alone until he agreed to some R&R. A sigh sounded out as he removed a small cassette player from his pocket. He wasn't sure about the hot springs yet...but music never let him down. Click!

A chill song began to play as he made his way towards the springs. You could tell at first glance that this was Ie's first time here. He had a towel with him...but it was draped over his shoulder. And instead of stripping down he wore a pair of dark navy swim trunks. He was far too situation savvy to come out here with nothing but a small white cloth covering him up. The smallest slip up and it would be a scene straight out of one of those harem manga Kana was always reading. Y'know...when the main character inevitably trips and lands on someone? Or when his towel gets caught on something and he flashes the entire hot springs? This section was even co-ed. It was the perfect recipe for disaster. He nonchalantly bobbed his head to the relaxing beat as he entered the bathing area. It was big enough for a crowd but today it seemed that people had other things to do. Maybe it was the brisk weather keeping everyone in? Suited him just fine. Less people to avoid. Something odd did barely catch his eye as he made his way to a secluded corner of the springs. Another person who was certainly a few years older than himself. Normal enough...except for the gigantic wolf that was with him. It was a good thing he wasn't afraid of animals because this thing looked like it could do some damage. It seemed to be lounging harmlessly enough on a rock though so he wasn't too worried about it. He'd make sure to shoot a few watchful glances its way as long as he was here though...

Much as he was hesitant about this whole situation, he had to admit the water felt pretty good. After setting his towel and handheld cassette player down near the edge he lowered himself silently into the soothing springs. All the minor aches he carried with him from training seemed to drift away with the ripples on the water's surface. He closed his eyes in a small moment of bliss as he submerged his body until just his neck was showing. Maybe he was wrong about this place? He was certainly not in his element all the way out in the Delectatio but the journey almost seemed worth it the moment he entered the springs. "This ain't too bad..." he thought to himself, leaning his head back as he shifted position on the underwater rock he was seated on. But rather typically his cynicism soon got the better of him. "...yet." He always walked around with the thought that something stupid was going to happen soon. And usually? It did. Only time would tell if his instincts were right..

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
Dakota's eyes tracked the young new-comer into the hotsprings, keeping her eyes keenly upon the child as he took his spot in the bath. The wolf stared at the boy hungrily, licking her chops as her eyes continued to track him. The hair on the wolf's body started to stand on end and her tail went erect. A single wave of the hand from Kyo was enough to calm the wolf down. Even if the wolf calmed itself, it still kept a piercing gaze upon the child that entered the bath. A low-toned growl could be heard from the wolf as the child started to submerge into the water as if he was encroaching onto their territory. None of this really bothered Kyo as long as Dakota didn't go on a murdering rampage. [lb2][/lb2]
The first thing Kyo noticed from the child was his skin complexion. He hadn't seen someone with such a dark color before -- perhaps it was similar to other animals where humans, too, came in different colors. He didn't see it as race or regional like most other people did. It was more flavor than anything else. He learned something new today; that not everyone is as pale as he was. Kyo's body was covered in small scars except for the one over his left eye and the large scar upon his torso where his mother stabbed him. Sentimentality stopped the wound from healing completely; something that Kyo needed to eventually put to rest. [lb2][/lb2]
Kyo submerged himself under water for a moment and came up to the surface, brushing away some of the hair from his forehead. Upon his forehead, there seemed to be 3 eyes in the shape of a triangle. The eye on the apex of the triangle appeared to be closed while there appeared to be a steel eye and another eye with the hands of a clock upon it. The eyes turned to look towards the boy instinctively. Kyo obviously didn't have any real control over these due to their spontaneous and erratic movements, but the movements stopped as soon as they spotted the child. Normally, Kyo would wear his headband to cover up these eyes, but he slipped and allowed someone to see it. Under these circumstances, he would have killed anyone that saw it, but he's in a bath and had no desire to fight someone while he was completely naked. "You didn't see that, understand?" Kyo said before moving his hair over his face, covering most of it just to cover the strange eyes upon his forehead.

Uh-oh. Growling coming a colossal, ferocious-looking wolf was never a good sign. He'd done his best to ignore the thing but it was hard to pretend it wasn't there when it was almost snarling at him for "encroaching" on its territory. Ie sank into the water until just his eyes were showing. And speaking of vicious animals what the hell was wrong with this village? The Cronopolis had always been his home and he never strayed too far from it if he didn't have to. Maybe this was for good reason. The last two times he'd ventured out of the C, he'd run into odd individuals with large pets. The first was a man with fox tails and a giant wolf. Now it was this guy with multiple eyes and...a giant...wolf. "...." He was gonna have to think twice before going out again...

As his relaxed hip-hop continued to play Ie attempted to get back into chill mode. Though that would admittedly be a bit hard to do now. He had barely glanced at the guy and all of sudden he threw out a very thinly veiled threat. Honestly? The youth had no words for him. He couldn't care less about some stranger with a few extra features on his face. It was strange most definitely. But as far as he knew he was just another cosplayer like Kana. Seemed to be a lot of those people floating around now. His eyes closed and he once more leaned back, resting his head against the wall he was seated up against. R&R. That's what he was here for. He promised Oya. Not to get into a turf war with a giant wolf. Not to trade barbs with some multi-eyed rando. But to relax. Since he'd only recently been promoted to Chuunin he had yet to undertake any actual important missions. And his time spent as a Genin was wholly underwhelming. Mostly just odd jobs around the village. It was true that shinobi life wasn't always the most exciting and his everlasting disinterest only served to further that cycle. Dealing with rival gangs however? That was another matter entirely.

It had been awhile sine the Nines had any real spats with competing crews. No one really went out of their way to step on their toes, at least in their neck of the woods. But the day-to-day handling of their activities could take its toll. Ie served a very awkward purpose in the gang. On one hand he enjoyed spending time with his friends and getting into trouble. He'd been doing it for as long as he could remember. But on the other hand...he was employed by Kumogakure. Oftentimes he found himself playing the mediator. And curbing the more wild or morally ambiguous tendencies of some members. Not that he'd ever admit it but it did wear him down sometimes. This visit to the hot springs was supposed to be relaxing. So that's what he was going to do! Relax. Take it easy. Absolutely nothing was going to get in the way of that. Absolutely. Nothing.

...right?

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
Kyo looked at the boy with a bitter look on his face, awaiting his reaction to what Kyo said. He firmly believed the boy would fire back with some kind of stupid, witty comment. After a few moments of silence, Kyo cleared his throat and sat back down in the hot water of the hotsprings. "At least you didn't say anything smart like that 'Booger Kid' does. At least you have enough sense to keep your yap shut," Kyo said as he closed his eyes and let the hot water sink into his skin. He let out a groan before bubbles appear from below the surface floated to the top and popped. Kyo let out a little chuckle at that.[lb2][/lb2]
"I didn't know Kumogakure let monkeys become shinobi," he said in reference to the boy's odd appearance; mainly the large ears that made him think this way. Kyo turned eyes his back to the boy and eyeballed him for a moment. "Oh, I suppose you aren't a monkey. You look far too hairless to be one, hm?" Kyo said as he chuckled to himself once more before sitting up and splashed the warm water into his face. While Kyo's face was covered in water with his eyes closed, he turned his face towards the boy's general direction and asked him, "I've never seen you before. Who are you?" he wiped his face to open his eyes, eyeballing the child for a brief moment before holding his hand out, catching a dart before it reached Ie's face. A disappointed grunt could be heard from Kyo. [lb2][/lb2]
"More assassins? Why do they always target the children I happen to be near? Well, keep your eyes open. These assassins have a habit of attacking children before attacking me," he stated. This wasn't the first time he encountered an assassin that did this and it most certainly won't be the last. If the one claiming to be his 'sister' was the one who sent the assassin to do this task, she really needs some more imagination.

Just what the hell was wrong with people outside of the Cronopolis? What would drive someone to antagonize a complete stranger in such a way? All he wanted to do was relax. And even that was only because he'd made a promise to his little sister. It was truly a mystery as to how there could be this much concentrated jackass in one person...but whatever the reason this guy picked the wrong one. "You talk a lot." the boy's words were dripping with irritation as he stood from his seated position. His dark eyes narrowed upon Kyo as his natural frown grew in intensity. "Wonder if you can back it up?" Now, a skinny fourteen year-old boy who only stood at 5'3" wasn't exactly an intimidating sight. But even this guy would be able to see the conviction in his eyes. He wasn't phased. There was no tension in almost any of his muscles. He almost seemed...at rest? If it wasn't for that grimace on his face you'd never be able to tell he was even agitated. This big-mouthed stranger looked older than him. Maybe even stronger too. But none of that mattered. He didn't care if this guy was the Raikage. Ie was no punk. And he wasn't about to let anyone talk to him like that.

For a moment his eyes glanced to the wolf. A problem to be sure. Two on one was bad odds...but he had a clever mind. One that was already at work. If this came to blows he could think of a few ways to turn his disadvantage around. It seemed like with every second that passed this guy put his own foot further and further into his mouth. Ie wasn't sure if the insult was due to the color of his skin or...something else. But it definitely crossed the line. "Get bent you bug-eyed freak." he spit at Kyo in response. After crouching down for a moment he leapt vertically out of the hot springs, coming back down in place where he previously stood. Except this time he was standing ON the water. A faint blue glow could be seen emanating from the soles of his feet. He'd never water-walked while fighting before...so this was sure to be a challenge. His chakra control was decent, but enough to maintain his footing while worrying about a battle? He wasn't sure. Regardless, Ie didn't let anything but disgust show on his face. So much for R&R... "For someone with an ugly mug you got a lot to say about how other people look." Venom. If there was anything he hated more than authority figures or the rich it was bullies. And Kyo fit that profile. He didn't even have to know the guy to tell he did this often. Hands entered his pockets as he locked eyes with the ANBU. "Tch..." sucked teeth was his response as the guy asked his name. Were they being cordial all of a sudden now? "Who are you?" His tone was mocking and saturated with hostility. No way in hell he was gonna sit here and trade names with- fwip!

...

"...what the hell?" A dart. From the shadows. This wasn't good. Ie made sure to keep a grip on his chakra control as he slid his feet apart and lowered his center of gravity a bit. His eyes moved back-and-forth, looking for a sign of...well, anything really. This guy pissed him off and he was so focused on glaring at him that he didn't see the projectile launched in his direction. His brow furrowed at Kyo's words. "I'm no dumb kid." It was true. He might've been young but he was a shinobi of Kumogakure. And the village brass sought it fit to promote him to Chuunin. However much he disliked this decision...at the very least they deemed him skilled enough to grant him the rank. He was no fledgling Academy Student. "Worry about yourself, Five-Eyes." It was time to prepare. A hand moved to the kunai holster on his right thigh and- ... "Damn...it's with my clothes." all of his equipment was back in the men's locker room. It only made sense. What was he supposed to do, come into the baths all kitted out? It would've been stupid. Though...that plan was sounding brilliant right about now. Looks like he'd have to rely on hand-to-hand skills for this one. Fine by him. Brawling was something of a specialty of his. Not to mention that he had a few other tricks up his sleeve if push came to shove. Ie never went anywhere without being prepared. He just wasn't expecting a fight in the hot springs of all places.

If he had the time to spare he would've let out a sigh. This was the last time he promised Oya he'd relax...

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information
The irritation from monkey-boy was clear and evident with the little bit of spittle to enter the water. He would be more inclined to help him against the assassin as the people sent by his sister, who used cowardly tactics by attacking those perceivably weaker than Kyo, as a means to get some kind of a rise out of him. However, with the rambunctious and annoying mouth from this child, Kyo didn't feel it too necessary for him to protect the child. "Well, then. I guess you won't need my help taking them out, do you saru-kun?" Kyo asked as several more darts flew towards Ie's direction. Each dart was aimed as a kill-shot or a shot meant to debilitate the child in a permanent manner. Kyo thought to simply stand there while the child got bombarded with darts, but they were here for him and not for that child specifically.[lb2][/lb2]
Letting a groan escape his lips, he stepped out of the water before black and green energy began to swirl around Kyo, covering his private parts in white fur. "Alright, alright. No need for that stealth crap. Come on out and fight me in the open. Unless my 'sister' told you to be cowards about it,"Out from the darkness appeared a pair of twins. A couple of beautiful girls wearing skin-tight outfits that caressed and hugged each of their delightful and well-endowed curves. Both of the women wore a rather stoic look upon their faces. Staring at the two side-to-side, the duo of Kyo and Ie could tell that the two of them had one very glaring difference. One of the women had a mole on their left cheek while the other had a mole upon their right cheek. The two women appeared to stand upon the warm waters of the hotspring with confidence dripping off of them. They had their backs towards the direwolf as if the creature was a non-factor in a fight.[lb2][/lb2]
Kyo scratched the back of his head and stepped out of the hotsprings to put a bit of distance between himself and the twin assassins. "Man, why does Ki-Moon pick some of the most beautiful girls to fight me. Couldn't she hire some more promiscuous women instead of those that want to kill me? But I guess me and Monkey-Boy could send you two packing," Kyo said before turning to look towards the boy. Kyo simply volunteered him to fight with Kyo to kill these assassins; not that Ie had much of a choice in the matter. [lb2][/lb2]
The water beneath the twins began to frost over, freezing over the bubbling waters of the hotspring, even freezing the bubbles in-place. As the freezing continued to spread, Dakota stood up from her rock and leapt at the duo in the water. It was then that the duo would find that, not only was the surrounding environment started to freeze, but it felt that time, itself, froze over. Dakota was left frozen in the air due to some strange jutsu that appeared to stop time. Kyo and Ie, however, remained unaffected by this jutsu. Kyo's eyebrow twitched slightly before taking up a fighting stance against the women. "You ready for this, monkey-boy? These two aren't playing around!" he shouted out.

Ie barely had time to blink before the next projectiles were launched in his direction. The multi-eyed stranger seemed rather dismissive of all this...which was odd considering this was an attempt on his life (and presumably Kyo's as well). But who knew? Maybe this guy had just seen a lot of action in his day. From how he sounded earlier it seemed that this wasn't his first run-in with assassins who tried to kill someone near him. After this was all over he'd have to make a note to steer clear of Hitman Magnet over here. And hotsprings altogether...

Fwish! A dart whizzed by his head, missing his face by only centimeters. Five-Eyes made some quip about him not needing his help since he was obviously so capable. If he wasn't so busy zig-zagging flying needles he might've snarked back. But since he was... "Damn right." and internal response was the best he could do. His leg flung forward suddenly just barely avoiding a dart aimed at his knee. Getting kneecapped here wasn't an option. Unfortunately being on one leg put him in a bad position when a cluster of three more darts were launched at his midsection. Not good. These things didn't look long enough to cause any major internal damage to his organs but their aim was right on. Whoever this assailant was? They were a pro. Darts, like senbon, weren't a particularly deadly weapon by themselves. But if they were laced with poison like he suspected...then he had to avoid these things at all costs. His dark eyes darted back-and-forth, taking in the positioning and speed of the projectiles. Having already dodged a few he had started to get a feel for their frequency and the direction they were coming from. (Fleeted: Thrown) Normally this wouldn't be enough to avoid them altogether but he was known for being light on his feet. And it was lucky that he was. Bending at the knee slightly on the leg that was still standing on the water's surface, he jumped. Not a large shinobi-esque leap. Just enough to get him airborne. At the same time he rotated his body, twisting as if to maneuver out of the way of the incoming needles. Not a millisecond after he moved the projectiles zoomed by. He landed harshly back on the ever-moving water, quickly resuming chakra flow to his legs and hand that supported his landing. Talk about a close call...

The Chuunin stumbled to his feet, eyes still scanning the area. Normally the youth kept to himself and only spoke when needed. But this guy killed his vibe, insulted him, and now he'd been dragged into a life-or-death battle. Needless to say he was a little aggravated... "You really think that'll work?" he spat at Kyo as he challenged the unknown attacker. No way they'd show that easy. This wasn't some shōnen manga like the ones Kana read all the time. "What dumbass would just give up their advanta-" Apparently? These dumbasses. Maybe it was a manga... "..." Words had failed him. He could do nothing but blink with a confused-slash-disgusted look on his face as the attackers revealed themselves after the red-haired man's goading. Why in the hell come out in the open? They'd have a much better chance at succeeding if they just remained in the shadows and kept firing off hit-and-run shots. Ie was quick sure, but he wouldn't be able to dodge forever. Either these two women were the worst killers in the world or they had some other goal. I'd say they were going to find out soon...but from the looks of it they weren't gonna get much in the way of conversation out of them. Damn people outside of the C were weird!

"What?" the thought shot through his head as he sighed, his breath now visible to the naked eye. All throughout the bathing area the temperature seemed to drop out of nowhere. And slowly but surely the moisture on the walls began to crystalize. "Frost...but that means-...!!" Ie's feet moved just in time to avoid the encroaching ice, a chakra-assisted jump helping him backpedal far enough so that he was side-by-side with Kyo. If he had waited just a moment longer his feet would've been flash-frozen in place by the sudden frost. This was no run-of-the-mill ice jutsu though...because the large direwolf from earlier was frozen mid-air. "Just who the hell are these two..." Ie's mind continued to race. He'd never encountered Ninjutsu like this before. If they were capable of affecting the flow of time...what else could they do? Or was this not Ninjutsu at all? An illusion perhaps? It sure as hell didn't seem like one. Whatever the case, they were both in it now. Kyo and Ie would have to fight for their lives to get out of this one. It still blew his mind that all of this was actually happening. Part of him expected something dumb, dangerous, or embarrassing to happen...and this just about checked all those boxes. The Nines were gonna flip when they heard about this one. Not exactly your typical Onsen OVA... "You got enough eyes..." the boy began. "So keep 'em forward." Aside from the brief moment of surprise while avoiding the darts from earlier, Ie's light scowl had never left his face. Though...his expression might've been cool, but he couldn't stop a single bead of sweat from dripping down the side of his face.

This wasn't going to be an easy fight. And operating without his equipment limited his combat effectiveness by half. Taijutsu was his preferred method of combat and up close he could more than hold his own but ranged attacking was going to be his weakness here. He had to think up some way to even the odds. "If I can get close enough..." As the boy continued to rack his brain in an attempt to formulate some sort of strategy something went unnoticed by him. Drip, drip. Small droplets of red fell into the water below. On his left leg was a small cut, likely due to one of the darts from before. The wound itself didn't look too serious...but if those projectiles were coated with a toxin than things were about to get a lot more serious. In the meanwhile he wasn't about to give them the advantage here. Ie would stand his ground and force them to come to him. Hopefully Kyo was battle-savvy enough to do the same...

The Chronicles of Kyo-MoonRelated Information

"Shut your hole, Monkey-Boy!" he responded at the boy's quips about his five-eyes. It felt like the duo was playing with them. Noticing her lack of advantage against the two women that were back-to-back, the massive Direwolf circled around and returned to Kyo's side. There was a brief moment; a stalemate between the two groups. The sound of dripping could be heard, the crimson liquid poured from Ie's arm dripping into the water sounded like boulders falling into a placid lake. The tension magnified the noises, even the most insignificant sounds, to terrifying volumes; for him, at least. [lb2][/lb2]
"I have no idea who these two are. The one usually sent to kill me died recently, so maybe a new couple was brought out? If only they weren't trying to kill us, we could've taken them on a double-date, yeah?" Kyo said with a bit of a chuckle and a nervous laugh. Assassins from before never really gave him the shivers (no pun intended) like these two did. [lb2][/lb2]
His words seemed to have fallen on deaf-ears, mainly towards the two assassins as the one that controlled the ice said in an angelic voice, "We gave them enough time to try to fight us, wouldn't you say?"[lb2][/lb2]
"Yes, ample time," the other, the one with her back turned stated in response with the exact same voice. The Haku, of the duo, started to form handseals as the air started to turn ice-cold around them and rain started to fall to the earth. The twin with her back turned formed handseals afterward, which caused a zone of area (50x50 ft) around them to quickly form. Everything within this zone appeared to slow everything that enters it to a full stop. The rain continued to pelt this zone, creating an arch of individual drops collecting within the zone. The rain continued to gather in this zone with the Haku (that was facing them) staring at the trio with steely eyes. [lb2][/lb2]
Kyo's eyes widened before forming his own set of handseals, creating a massive wall of fire directly in front of the trio. "We gotta do something, Monkey-Boy! I have a bad feeling about this!" he shouted out. Something about that time-stopping zone bothered him. It was a tugging at his gut that, anything that passed into the zone, would come to a complete stop; including any jutsu they could throw their way.

[lb]**NEW INFORMATION**
Names: Young-Mi and Yun-Hee[lb][/lb]
Description: A pair of twins appearing to look exactly alike from one another aside from the fact that they both have a single mole upon their cheekbones with Young-Mi having the mole on her left cheek while Yun-Hee on the right. Both had piercing reddish-brown eyes with extremely beautiful faces. They both wear a skin-tight outfit that, even with how skin-tight it appeared, looked warm. They both also have long, flowing brown hair that stops below their rear-end and both have locks of hair (on the side of their heads) bound by a dull hair-tie with the image of a sparrow etched into it. They both, when they do speak, have beautiful and harmonic voices -- voices similar to the voices of a goddess; however the words spoken from their lips was cold and uncaring making (what appeared to be two goddess-like women) to be disliked. It felt as if they intentionally speak ill to keep their distance from others so they could concentrate on their jobs as trained assassins.[lb2][/lb2]
Mission: The duo of ice and time controllers, Young-Mi and Yun-Hee, were hired by Kyo's twin sister Ki-Moon to assassinate Kyo. They were given a special condition to make Kyo go through any form of mental anguish -- including killing those he 'includes into his pack' to include children and others he decided to surround himself with. Their first directive is to kill Ie (who so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time) and then kill Kyo. Whether this action had other motives behind it is entirely unknown to Kyo and anyone else that is cursed to being near him.
