Sparks flew within the hanger space that belonged to the group behind the Bishamonten Project as Raijuta looked on over his lead engineer's project that she was actively working on. Sparing glances to various monitors around the room from time to time to check the readings being fed back to their machines, the expression on his face was pensive. The destruction of APU-00 at the hands of Katsuo had taught them a great deal. Much more than they expected it would. The conclusion that APU-00's chassis design was insufficient and cumbersome was valuable but the true fruit borne from the experiment had been data on Katsuo himself. Raijuta had declined to inform the young Sunahoshi that they'd been testing him as well if only because he hadn't been sure how Katsuo would react to being a guinea pig to their efforts.
With the information taken from both the combat readings of APU-00 and Katsuo himself they'd made considerable strides in their efforts in the last few weeks. Raijuta had little patience for Fuurika's quirks and ticks but he could not argue with the results. She was every bit the genius that her file had indicated that she was. She'd taken the information that they'd collected, combined it with the study they'd already done and gone into seclusion for a few days. At first Raijuta had been concerned that she was having some sort of mental breakdown over the destruction of her creation but when she'd called him up from her apartment and shown him the advances she'd made it became clear that what she was obsessed with wasn't the destruction of APU-00 but rather overcoming it. Katsuo presented an obstacle to her work. A challenge. And she intended to defeat him in the only way that she knew how-- iteration on her craft.
Raijuta for his part was not an engineer. He was one of the foremost authorities on the way a human being's chakra network and neutral network interacted and functioned in the Wind Country but he had no talent or understanding where machines were concerned. The work they were doing together blended the two sciences in a way that many would likely condemn them as insane at best. Monsters at worst. That meant they needed to be careful who they involved and to what degree. But the other major reason for the Bishamonten Project's major success thus far was Raijuta's connections and ability to plan ahead. He was already planning the next phase for their work and to that end had extended an invitation for another high-profile shinobi of the Sunagakure military to join them in the Bishamonten hanger -- one of the two ANBU Sennin named Roku.
The mission reports stated that the sennin had lost a limb-- more specifically an arm --during the battle with the colossal reanimated corpse of Barnyx and that presented a unique opportunity for the Bishamonten Project. He'd put in a mission request to borrow some of the Sennin's time in much the same way that they had done with Katsuo and now were merely awaited the appointed time, which was rapidly approaching, for Roku to arrive at the hanger.
