It had been a week since the incident with the sandworm had happened. Kasen had spent the majority of the first 3 days unconscious, her body trying to expend energy where needed. Given that Kasen had the healing properties from the shark dna and genetic engineering done to her system, she had accelerated growth and the clotting from the chigokai blood infused with her own only sped up the process. When she had came to she noticed the hole was still visible, but it appeared to have closed a bit, most of the flesh in the middle having woven itself back and not it was only part of her skin that was sunk in, still visibly healing around the area. After a quick assessment she had realized the tendril had spared most of her vital organs. It was still incredibly painful once she had sat up and applied some healing jutsu of her own, but the wound still needed lots of gauze and bandaging while it waited to revitalize itself. She found it incredibly painful to move, sitting up made her incredibly dizzy and she had to clench her jaw to do so. Kaen hadn't left her alone, she could tell by the bags under his eyes and sitting in the chair beside her bed. She was thankful to have access to this small clinic. She took a deep breath, remembering the trauma he experienced. She managed to use some of her energy to quickly heal his back, she couldn't stand if he suffered any longer trying to take care of her. Tears came to her eyes as she thought of all that had happened.
She had realized that until she had finished healing a bit more, she would be unable to walk without extreme pain searing through her body. So she had been tethered to a wheelchair. She sighed. She couldn't burden Kaen asking him to take care of her, after he already did so much. He wouldn't look at it like a burden but she didn't want to put that on him. No, she sent a quick letter out, a letter for hire, asking for a temporary caretaker. She would pay well, after all their employer always set them up with very good pay after information was transferred to her. Kasen wheeled herself outside, sitting with a blanket in what would be considered their "garden". It didn't grow flowers, it was the wrong type of environment, but she had a small herb garden that managed to survive. And it was sunny and there was a nice breeze, catching the smell of salt and brine from the sea.
Oh how she wished that she could go out there. Although a wheelchair in the sand is about as effective as running on wet ice. The smell of the ocean brought thoughts to her head about Samebizu. She had been trying to talk to her ever since she woke up. As far as she could remember from being unconscious, she didn't remember seeing or hearing Same once."Same? Will you talk to me? Please....I miss you." The silence was deafening. Kasen found herself starting to cry. She pressed both hands to her face, slightly hunched over as deep sobs wracked her body. It didn't help that her torso started throbbing in pain either. She placed on hand over the bandaged area and rubbed it tenderly. Her hand then fisted in the fabric of her shirt pulling slightly as she tried to stop the tears from falling. She knew Same was mad at her, but she hadn't ever ignored her like this. It hurt her worse than any flesh wound ever could. Kasen sniffled and placed her hands in her lap. She wasn't sure if she should wait outside or go back in and maybe rest. Someone had responded to the ad she had put up, she was supposed to greet them today. It was probably wise not to show them how broken she truly felt. She wiped away the last of her tears but couldn't manage to bring a smile to her face. Now all she had to do was sit and wait. Not much else she could do anyway.
