Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kids. Mako was grateful she only had one daughter. Raising a child was difficult. Teaching one ... was easier. You merely had to endure them for a few hours before you sent them home. Yep. Teaching wasn't that bad. Kids were merely little adults. So bright and full of personality.

The veteran Mako stood there waiting for the young ones to roll in. She was dressed in her military uniform. She hadn't done much to make herself presentable. She had her eye patch on, because ... well otherwise it might creep the kids out she was missing an eye. Her sleeve was stapled. She was missing an arm. That was from a blast in the past. Painful. She refused the use of a prosthetic arm because ... well ... becoming dependent on something fake would make her weak. Mako would very much stick out to people. She was the hard military type. She survived and seen alot in war. War made her a bitter women, but war had almost made have a sense of comradely with her crew. Hell's Halberds was the nick name for her division.

Mako eyed the clock. If those kids didn't get here shortly... she may need to have a cigarette break. Mako closed her one eye, and then tried to fight the habit. Word would get out she was smoking again, and then Sousuke would chew her out. He might be Steward, but he didn't like being chewed out by him because of her habit.

Hanone had only just come from her last class with Harupia and was eager to continue on with her day. Her excitement at being on her last year in the academy and to continue working toward her shinobi goals was such a bright flame in her heart that she was pumped to the point of giddiness and had been since the moment she had woken up that morning.

Summer break had been nice, but Hanone loved to learn and loved to excel. She had high aspirations for her life and a fairly romantic view of what it would be to be a shinobi for her beloved Sand Village. She arrived first to her second class of the day, entering the room without so much as a knock.

Some of her spunk died at the image of her next teacher. Han was startled at the vision of her sensei. A tough looking woman, no doubt about that, with an eyepatch and a missing limb. Unconsciously she rubbed her right forearm with the other hand.

But it wasn't nice to stare.

Quickly putting back on her smile, Hanone entered the learning space and greeted her teacher with youthful enthusiasm. "Ohayo, sensei! I'm Hanone, Suna's future Kazekage!" Yep, that was her dream. Puffing up her chest, she pointed at the chairs. "Does it... matter where I sit? Or can I just sit anywhere?" The rail thin girl rose her hand up and pushed away some of her flyaway red tresses. They were literally everywhere.
Hiiii! I'm joinng this class as well, but forging the class bonuses I would have otherwise earned since I'm in another class thread at the moment. Should still count toward the class quota for Han though... I hope XD

Oh hope you don't mind that I just made your class right after Haru's >>; Shoulda asked first. xp

Blades, already sharpened.
Shoes, already shined.
Shirt, already pressed to crisp perfection.
Pants, already clean, smelling clean and fresh.

Aoi nodded, everything was in order. He checked again, if he missed something. Notebooks? He had a small one together with a couple of pencils. The boy smiled and opened the door of his studio type apartment into the living room. The boy headed straight to the kitchen to fix himself something light for breakfast. Maybe a bit of bread yes. He retrieved bread from the bread rack beside the refrigerator-freezer and placed it on the table. Afterwards, he washed a few leaves from the lettuce he had on the fridge and started cooking a few pieces of ham. Whistling as he did so, smiling as he thought of what is about to happen to him. Finally he was to attend a class, then have a job afterwards. He was happy. His matronly neighbors would check on him and give him random pieces of vegetables and warm soup at night. Yep, everything was perfect. Thirty minutes after, he was done with his breakfast, personal hygiene, cleanliness of his small space and packing everything into his holster, notebook and pencils in his pocket.

The walk towards the academy was peaceful, people nodding at him, some staring, others not caring. It was very nice for him. He liked not having to talk to everyone he meets, trying to tell them he is not to be pitied. Finally, he arrived at the Academy and wasted no time skipping towards his designated class. At his arrival, he shyly nodded at his sensei and sat at the front. She looks strong with lots of experience, although her lack of that other arm and that eyepatch made her quite a site to see, unsettling Aoi a bit.

"Sensei, I'm sorry for not introducing myself. I am Aoi, a hopeful protector of civilians." he said, standing up and bowing at his sensei before sitting down again. This should be nice.

Thank Mother Suna. If the kids hadn't arrived in another minute, then ... she probably would have had to light up. Thankfully that did not occur. The little Porkchops arrived. The veteran was unsure what nickname to give these kids. Were they demeaning and vile names? Not really. It always gave Mako great pleasure to watch Tommy get uncomfortable with being called Porkchop. after years of missions and operations, Mako finally referred to him as his proper name, that is until he pissed her off. She watched as the first little one entered. So full of promise. So full of youth. Mako couldn't remember much of her own childhood. It was probably due to years of drink and dead brain cells. She watched as the child rubbed her own arm. The second of the little ones arrived. Like Hanone he too was staring. It didn't bother Mako. She was used to it by now. Everyone seemed to do that the first time they met her. They were never quite used to the sight of old Mako. She survived hell, and was spat back out.

"Gruntlings!"<i></i> She roared. Yes. They were her little gruntlings. They would make them into an elite fighting force, even if it killed them. "I am your commanding officer, or sensei, Masashi Mako of the Hell's Halberd division. It's my job to fill your pretty little heads to defend yourselves and civilians."<i></i> Mako reached into her coat and acquired a tooth pick. She chewed on it. This was one way of getting past the day. "Sit where you please, don't break anything. You break it, and that is thirty push-ups."<i></i> She stalked about. She moved like a young woman maybe the age of thirty instead of being nearly sixty. She chewed on the tooth pick. "In this army you work your way up. Right now you're all Gruntlings. In this army you will learn more than the basics. You will learn to crawl over the barbed wire, and you will not cry like a little girl. You're going to grin and bear it. You're going to know what to do when a terrorist scum like the Cabal comes slinking back into our world. Gruntling Aoi's got the right idea. Protect the civilians, but you gotta do more than that. You gotta protect yourselves and your comrades. Not all of you are going to share the same skill set. Some of you will be better at certain tasks than others. If you have a bomb to diffuse and your disarmer is dead, then you're probably dead too. This world is not fair, but we're going to work around that."<i></i> She spoke loudly and harshly. "You wanna live forever Gruntlings?"<i></i>

Somehow, Aoi's sensei managed to be intimidating while being disabled. To the boy, that was something remarkable, amazing, splendid even. Someday he would be as splendid as this woman, he thought. Now, Aoi had nothing against disabled persons. He had seen and encountered a lot of them during his time in the orphanage. Somehow, a good bunch of the kids there are missing limbs, had scorched skin, or missing some kind of feature on their face. But none of them looked intimidating, full of confidence like this one. Most of the ones he saw looked either depressed or extremely mild persons who won't even fight back when insulted. Not that he didn't want to help them back then, but there was nothing a frail boy like him do.

As the woman told them her name, he nodded and prepared to absorb every little detail about this woman. She was fascinating when she talked. He was right! This woman had so much combat experience, she was even one of those Hell's Halberd Division people. He knew the group as a good number of the orphans he came in contact with were from that division. Most the children were unharmed though, just placed their because their parents had too much on their plate. When she continued, somewhere along the way, they were told they were going to experience a lot of physical hardships but were gonna be trained to smile through it. Aoi didn't know how that was possible but if their sensei says it was possible then maybe it was.

"I don't wanna live forever sensei. I read a story where a woman didn't have the ability to die and she ended up so hurt she tried to kill herself but failed and then fell into depression. Watching your loved ones die one by one in front of you while you live isn't very nice from the book I've read. But sensei, how will we know which task are we good at?"

Live forever... Live forever... The words echoed in Hitoshi Yamis head. His heart began to beat harder. Faster. Through his clenched teeth he muttered "what a stupid thing to say." His knuckles turned white. Standing just outside the door to his next class. How dare she. How can she just say that. As if we can just make a choice to live or die.bthe fact is we all will die. Most of us in a way that will be to horrifying to even imagine.

Yamis crystal purple eyes just started ahead at the door in front of him. As his anger built he could feel himself losing his composure. The words live forever... Over and over again. We can't fight death. We can't escape it. Death will come for all of us. And this.... This women offers the illusion of immortality to children... Yami shed a single tear. "How dare you... How dare you. You stupid. Arrogant. Bit" Yami stopped. He felt a hand on his shoulder. Raito stood behind him. And gave him a look. I can't even describe the look. But it calmed Yami enough. Enough to open that door.

Yami oped the door. And looked at his teacher. And something happened. Something he didn't expect. He didn't notice the pphysical damage done to this women. With his blank expression he maintained eye contact. He could see the pain. The same pain he felt. The pain you can't hide. The damage done to the very soul.

For the first time. In what seemed like forever. Yami smiled. And said "I do. I want to live forever "

Oh my gosh, these are so much better fresh! Raito thought, savoring the sweet chocolate as he ate the pocky he just got from the vending machine. He was so used to eating the stale ones he and his brother found from the markets after the shops were all closed up. Fresh ones had a nice crunch to them.

The boys were lost... Again. Yami had insisted on leading the way to the next class, since Raito had managed to get them lost the first time around. Because he's doing so much better... Raito mentally murmured, at least I got us there on time.

"Gruntlings!" A voiced boomed through the doorway like a vocal cannonball. "Oh please don't be our next class." Raito said with a worried groan. He looked at the room number and sighed heavily. "Of course it is..." He could hear the teacher rant on about who she was and how she was going to make them enjoy getting hurt, or something weird like that. What struck him was the phrase "You wanna live forever". What the hell kinda question is that? Raito thought, befuddled by it, Everyone wants to live a long, happy, safe life, but not everyone can. Especially not Shinobi. Was that the point she was trying to make?

Yami seemed to take the message a little harsher. Whatever was going on in his mind caused him to mutter and mumble, his hands clenching and thin body shaking with anger. Raito could see he was talking, but it was hushed, and clearly full of bitterness. Clearly the term "Live Forever" hit a sore spot... Reaching out, and gently touched his brother on the shoulder, doing the best he could to console him, even just a little. He even gave a weak smirk to mask the sorrow he had seeing his brother so upset. I wish I could just take your pain... Just so you don't have to deal with it anymore. Raito thought. His brother meant everyrgin to him, and to see him so upset was painful.

Calmed down a bit, Yami turned back to the door and opened it. well she looks like a happy bag of sunshine. thought Raito as he saw the woman who had been shouting. With a missing arm and an eye patch, she reminded Raito of the poor vets turned beggars down in the slums and ratways.

"I do. I want to live forever." Yami said, and Raito's head fell forward. So we're late, AND he chooses to enter the room like that. Ok then, recovery time. Raito straightened up, awkwardly smiling. "Hi, sorry we're late. I'm Hitoshi Raito, and this is my twin brother, Yami. I, uh,... Yea, sorry." Real smooth, dipstick. Raito thought to himself, as he went to go sit down.

Well one class down, i hope my next one is awesome like me. Daichi walks down the hall looking for the classroom. Suddenly hearing a yellGruntlings! What?! Then hearing about living forever. Daichi peeks through the window and he sees what is to be of his next class. Normally people see some one missing a limb or an eye and think oh poor thing. But oh not Daichi, what he sees is a ninja and some one who has gone out and had adventures when they were younger. Some one who fought and made it back alive , a survivor. Daichi isn't dumb, a fool at times but he knows this world is a dangerous place and is just to dense to let it get him down. But he just thinks that's normal since he is the greatest ninja to live! Or so he honestly believes. Smiling he thought to himself. Yes!! This class will lead me to an adventure. Ill show you dad I am the greatest ninja to live and this is where i start.

Pushing the door open with to much strength slamming it against the wall. Daichi looks at the classroom and with such a big grin on his face proclaims. " that's right, i wanna live forever. I wanna be a legend . I'm the greatest ninja to ever live!" Looking at his instructor closer, his crimson eyes shining like he is watching some one famous walks up and salutes to her. Thinking to himself yes! This is how you make a first impression! Im ready to learn what ever i can to start my legend here and now sensei! Daichi turns and sits in an open seat as close to the instructor as he can. Live forever huh? That sounds Awesome, I bet my old man would just croak if i did that haha. He doesn't believe in me or what i can do! With passion in his eyes he is ready to make big things happen.

Han was pleased that she was welcome to sit anywhere. She preferred somewhere in the middle, so she slipped into a chair and removed her things from her pack; a long, sharpened pencil, white paper, a bright blue eraser the size of a cucumber, ya know.. the basics. By then the teacher was already talking, starting in fairly preachy, but it wasn't anything she hadn't heard in the past few years at the academy. Yes, fight for the cause, protect the civilians and your teammates, she'd heard that all before but it was still little more than classroom lecture than serious words to Han. She hadn't been outside the comfort and safety of the classroom really. When the Cabal had come, Han and her family had taken refuge with the other civilians (much to her disdain) and she was saved from the dangers of the attack.

She preparing herself for a good old fashioned shinobi lecture when some late ones made their way in and with quite the entrance indeed. She recognized the two brothers from her last class and the one who had entered first responded to the rhetorical point with a retarded response "I do want to live forever." Really? Han's face took on a very tired and unamused expression and she rolled her eyes. his brother seemed fairly embarrassed by the comment and simply introduced himself before finding a seat. Her expression neutralized again and she even smiled a little at Raito. Thank goddess she didn't have a brother or sister.

Things might have been able to progress after that, buuuut then came the loudest of them all. The last boy entered, loudly slamming the door open with excessive force which made the girl jump a little in her seat. Training her golden eyes on the boy, she had to repeat the same gesture as before, but this time her eye roll was accompanied by a quiet snort of derision. Okay, to be fair she had announced herself as the future Kazekage, but he was even more obnoxious than herself.

The girl leaned back in her chair and nibbled on her left pinky fingernail, hoping that was all the interruptions and focused in on the marred teacher at the front of the class. Where was she anyway? Oh that's right; gruntlings. Not a very nice term for them, but then she'd also been referred to as a nuisance, a beast, a wimp and a sissy by previous teachers. She was hardly fazed.

(We're back! Yush!)

Mako's expression soured a bit when Aoi seemed to challenge the concept. "I've seen a lot of foul things in my life Gruntling Aoi. One of them isn't some sad sorry woman complaining about that sort of thing. Leave it to the fictional writers to make that sort of thing make people think poorly about immortality. I personally don't have to worry about such things ... I don't get along well with my daughter anyways."<i></i> The veteran chewed on the toothpick. Another child arrived late, with his brother. Mako stared at him. Hrmph. Go ahead stare away. Kids usually did that sort of thing. Thank goodness she was covered up. She wasn't the sort to be a model. Too many scars. Wrinkles? A few. It wasn't like she was going to win any beauty pageants. Nope. When she heard what he said, a sharp grin appeared on her face. "That's the spirit Gruntling. You'll make a good solider with that attitude."<i></i> The woman paced about. "If any of you die out there with some piss poor death, and I'm dead I'm going to give you hell in the afterlife. None of you are going to die while I draw breath. A good CO doesn't let the corp. die out. That responsibility goes double time to you too Gruntlings. As of this moment you're a squadron. You're going to work, sweat, and bleed together."<i></i> She stopped her pacing, and gave the Gruntlings a hard look. Even with one eye Mako could still give a look to send chills down the spines. "Got that?"<i></i>

One of the Gruntling spoke up about how he wanted to be a legend. He too wanted to live forever. He drove it home that he wanted to be a legend. "Legends take a while to breed, it takes time. Not impossible. The problem about being a legend? You've got jackasses who kill legends. That's their sole existence. You've got to see them first and spit in their face. "<i></i> Mako to make her point hawked up and spat on the floor. In the process her toothpick fired out too. "Now Gruntlings. One of your comrades inquired how do we know what task you're good at? Let's start with what you like doing most. Do you like the feel of a knife in your hand? Or do you like to stay back and rain hell on earth on your target with a bow and arrow? You'll want to focus on taijutsu. Get physical with your enemy. Puncture his kidney with an arrow, or cleave some of his flesh off with a good swing of your axe."<i></i> Mako made a gesture with her hand, a Kunai slipped out. She threw it, and it zoomed past Aoi and dug into the wall. Mako then formed a hand seal. She then vanished from thin air. After some time later Mako would re-appear at the back of the room. "Wanna screw with your enemy's mind? Might wanna try genjutsu. Manipulate your enemy's sense of reality, illusions will make their minds snap."<i></i> Then Mako formed another hand seal and conjured a fiery orb which hovered above her hand. She threw it at the black board. "Elemental? Theatrics? Try ninjutsu."<i></i> The fire sprinklers went off as Mako had thrown the fireball. The class would be getting pretty wet in a few moment. "What sounds good to you Gruntlings? How do you want to fight?"<i></i>

Daichi looking at his sensei with his mouth hanging open. Watching as she threw the kunai, then vanishing in thin air, then shot a fiery orb out of her hand. "Wow that's so awesome sensei!" Each and every one of those he thought would be amazing to learn and master. But he thought to him self it might be better to learn one at a time to get the most out of it. His sensei knew all three so it probably wasn't impossible to learn them all. But Daichi made up his mind. I'll learn one, master it and move on to the next. But the problem was, what to learn first. What would be his main way of fighting?

Taijutsu? Getting up close and personal with your enemy? Fighting in the front lines toe to toe with your nemesis? Using feet and fists to dominate in battle? Daichi smiled as he thought of the adventures he could have with taijutsu. Genjutsu? Messing with the minds of your opponents? Tricking and using misdirection, messing with your enemy's mind till it snaps like a cracker? That interest Daichi a lot thinking of all the skills he could learn and where it could lead him as he grew older. Or lastly ninjutsu? Using elemental and theatrics. Daichi was sure there were lots of amazing ninjas that specialized in ninjutsu. He could be even greater than them! But one Sounded the most suited for Daichi and he knew it.

Standing up and approaching sensei, looking straight eye to eye. Clearing his throat, and said "Sensei I thought about it and I've decided. Taijutsu is what I wanna learn first. I'll learn all the others after I master taijutsu. I"ll start my legend by being the greatest taijutsu ninja ever. So I can punch and kick my way through all those who would try to kill my legend. I'll put them in there place!" Daichi looking at his teacher with eyes filled with fire ready to take on any challenge. Turns and sits down ready for what happens next. Suddenly Daichi notices his friend Yami waving over to him happy that his one and only friend is also here to. "Its destiny my friend, ha It was just meant to be"

Aoi looked at their sensei with disbelief and shook his head. He may never get why people want to have immortality so much. Its not all that special, when he thought about it. Maybe their sensei wanted to make use of that time to achieve something she may never achieve if she had such a mortal life? There is nothing wrong with that, the boy thought. Then again, whether people want to live forever or not, it matters not as he wants to protect them just the same. This thought brought a smile to the young one's face.

"
I may not agree with a lot of people who wants immortality but I don't think i can stand by and let them die just because I disagree with them. I want to learn how to protect everyone in this village whether they like me or hate me. Its the least I can do being the weirdo that I am." he answered as politely as he can. If it was polite enough, he would never know as he had never been in this kind of situation before. "Sensei, I want to be able to protect everyone so I will train the hardest and focus on that. Please help me with that."

The boy added after a bit of though. He listened to his fiery classmate and smiled. This Daichi person sure is lively. It would surely not be boring working around him. He looked at Hanone, the brothers Hitoshi - who looked like eternal opposites when it comes to just about everything from appearance to personality and decided he liked Yami better - and again to fiesty Daichi. This sure is a nice bunch of people. Although Hanone is still a mystery to him as the girl never talked much, so he didn't feel like he had enough about the girl to like or dislike her. It would come with time, he hopes.

Their sensei started a lecture about legends and jackasses killing legends. A legend huh? The boy was treated as a weakling all his life that the term legend seemed like a great idea. He wanted to be a kind of someone who can also be strong, a kind of someone who doesn't depend on the pity of others, a person who can be an inspiration to other people. Maybe being a legend would help his dream come true. He smiled and listened eagerly to his teacher's next words. But then his teacher spat her toothpick on the floor, one thing he can't stand is unnecessary messes. Therefore, he went to pick the toothpick and placed the extremely, grossly wet thing into the trash bin and went back to his seat. He hoped no one would mind that. People in the orphanage already call him on being a bit too neat. The boy just nods at them and hides when they do that but he can't do that here. He is here to learn to be strong, not to revert to his old habits. He will not hide from this situation anymore, no matter how much nervous sweat he produces.

Anyway, their sensei proceeded to tell them how to know what task they are good at. What do they like doing most? 'Reading, cleaning and cooking' his mind supplied quickly. But immediately regretted it when the teacher's next words flew out. He burned red whilst sweating nervously. To an observer, he might appear as if he's about to keel over. Pale frail boy, sweating profusely whilst blushing red like a tomatoe? And then his sensei decided to throw a kunai past him, making him gasp - more like a yelp really - outloud and he saw said kunai dig into the wall. Aoi would have been impressed if his heart wasn't beating so hard he thought his ribcage would burst any second. She then demonstrated an invisibility genjutsu and a fiery ninjutsu. Then they were asked what do they like doing. Well, reading, cleaning and cooking wouldn't' exactly help in the middle of a battle but someone must do it. He would choose one of those if he could but they were given three choices and they had to pick.

With his eyes furrowed, Aoi spoke, calming slowly down, his redness slowly waning and his sweating was getting less and less annoying. "
But what if i would like to play with my opponent's minds while saving my team mate with some kind of ninjutsu so they don't die? Is that possible?"

Wait, she wanted that answer? Raito thought, staring quizzically into space for a brief moment, before noticing Hanone sitting in the very center of the class. Raito perked up and smiled at her, having remembered her from the last class they had together, and he moved to sit near her, his face slightly pink ion the cheeks. "Hey there, Hanone," He managed without sounding the least bit nervous he was talking to a girl for the first time, "Mind if I sit here?" He sat and hoped for a response when the door exploded open again and the overly eccentric boy, Daichi was it? decided to once more blow the door wide open and proclaim to the world how absolutely legendary his skills were. Oh PLEASE sit by Yami again! Raito thought, unable to conceal a snort of laughter, I'm sure he would just love that.

Raito quickly took a scan of the room as the teacher spoke of legends, and, Did she really just spit on the floor? Raito looked at the slimy toothpick on the floor, the boy he didn't recognize, clearly unnerved, picking it up and throwing it away, and starting to turn a brighter shade of red that Raito a moment before. Wonder what's got him so worked up... Just like that, the teacher started questioning them; asking what we would most like to do. "Well not die..." Raito muttered under his breath. He and Yami had managed so far, but with the city not exactly a perfect place, far from it actually, he was her, making himself better, stronger, more capable to protect those he loved. his mind was beginning to wander to the sight of Yami over their mother, when the teacher threw a kunai right passed the poor nervous kids face. Raito quickly and instinctively grabbed the nearest sharp object, a pencil, and held it up in front of his chest, body tense, unbreathing; the boy just squeaked. What the hell is wrong with this woman! She then vanished, reappearing in the back of the class, and then volleying a fireball from her fist at the blackboard.

Daichi spoke first, not to Raito's surprise really, saying he wanted to lean Taijutsu, the physical fighting, first. Raito looked at the wall as the nervous kid spoke, staring at the kunai embedded into the structure. she was hiding that thing the whole time, and Raito didn't even notice. That was skill. hidden blades in a crowd got things done in the best way; quietly. Genjutsu was the illusion thing, and that seemed...ok. Not really my cup of tea... Raito thought, still looking at the wall. And then there was Ninjutsu, the "theatrical" stuff. Flashy wasn't too bad, but fire didn't seem to resonate to well with Raito. Breaking his focus from the small knife, that he now really wanted, He raised his hand and spoke up, asking, "Oi, Sensei, with the flashy, showy stuff. Are all the elements....controllable?" Raito wasn't sure if that was a stupid question, but he was curious, and he was determined to find out. if anything, he knew he wasn't going to fight with Genjutsu. if he was to fight someone, he would make sure they were looking him in the eyes.

Legends...I see all the hope in everyones eyes. I have no doubt I will be a legend.... Yami sat in the back once again with his dark cloud above him. oh you better believe I will be a legend. I will be the one who makes the hard choices. I will be the one avoided at all costs. I will be the evil that the wicked fear. Yamis expression remains blank as he sat still in the back of the class. anyone who can attack a family just for the hell of it... No. Any creature. Those people are hardly even people at that point. They are monsters. Animals. Who deserve to be put down. Yami stopped. Calm down. You keep getting set off you crazy. You're here to learn. To be better, not for revenge. You're here for Raito. He got us here. He said try and make friends! So being.. Well you... And be social! "Daichi over here." Yami began to wave. OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE! NOT READY FOR THIS! BEING SOCIAL IS STUPID! AND WHY! WHY! WHY DID I CALL HIM OVER! OF ALL PEOPLE! RAITO IS RIGHT THERE! Yamis smile as short lived as it was vanished as he sunk in his seat. Nailed it.

Yami watched as his new favorite teacher began to demonstrate her skills. what did I want to focus on? I don't understand the concept of honer during a fight. Its a fight. Anything youcan do to win you do. That simple. Yami muttered "Genjutsu" The thought of messing with someones mind was exciting to Yami. Anything and everything to win a fight. I won't be their only opponent. They will have to fight off their own demons. The ones who are already inside them waiting. Acting as my back up.

Mako snorted at the remark of Aoi regarding himself as a weirdo. "Everyone has their own quirks. Nothing is weird. Even for me. I've seen alot, and I continue to do so. Very little truly surprises me. You've got the right attitude, that's for certain Gruntling Aoi."<i></i> That being said she did not expect Aoi to clean up after her mess. Mako nearly reached for her flask which was inside her coat. She placed her hand on it. She blinked a moment and realized that drinking in front of the kids was... probably not a good thing. Luckily with her hand in her upper coat pocket she took out another kunai. She placed her index finger into the ring slot, took it out and started swinging it.

One by one the answers started coming in. The Legendary Gruntling spoke up first. "That's one for taijutsu. With all that effort, I might even say that'd be two for taijutsu."<i></i> Gruntling Aoi spoke up next. Luckily he recovered from the fright she had given him. A wolfish grin formed on the veteran's face. "It's possible, but you're still doing one type of action, and then another. Gruntling Aoi's vote is genjutsu, followed by ninjutsu, but for my sake I'm saying gen for him. You need to know what you want first in life kiddo."<i></i> Mako wasn't a Hashigaki, but her hearing was sharp. "Well Gruntling Raito wants to not die, but how does he not want to die? What does he want to do to save his sorry arse and his squadron?"<i></i> Ninjutsu it seemed. Mako assumed he was interest in it given his question. "Elements are like pets, the better you train them, the better you can control them. I had some rookie Kyoujouran back two decades ago split the earth with us on one side, and him on the other with bad guys all over the side he was on. He didn't die, but he certainly worked hard not to have that happen again. It takes hard work to truly control an element to make sure your fire jutsu doesn't fizzle out on you when someone starts manipulating the weather. Even if a rainstorm happened, I can I could keep a fireball going steadily. It's about feeding it power to live."<i></i> She answered.

The last Gruntling spoke up. Genjutsu. Well. That was two for genjutsu, one for taijutsu, and one for ninjutsu. Granted Mako took Aoi's response for genjutsu first. "Genjutsu it is. Don't lose heart my gruntlings. Should you wish to stick with me, I'll have one of my old boys from Hell's Halbeard pop by next class, or I could even get my grandson to show you a thing or two about holding a sword, or how to meld ninjutsus to form advanced elements."<i></i> The Veteran had to give the gruntlings something to look forward to. She stalked about. "Genjutsu. Illusions. Gruntlings, tell me the five senses are. Come on. Each of you shout out one."<i></i> She awaited for them to start calling them out. "A genjutsu messes with your senses. They are to throw you off your sure footing. They are meant to put you into a state of panic and unease. You might even crap your pants."<i></i> She declared bluntly. Mako's eye began to shift and transform. She activated her sharinghan. "Doujutsu is a genjutsu that is cast from your eyes, or in my case one eye. I need only one good eye though. I've made grown men and women fall to their knees with fear in their hearts. We're covering the basics today, advanced stuff later."<i></i>

Raito sat up a little straighter, and with a bit of a start, when the teacher reacted to his silent mutterings. Gods, how good is her hearing?! As she explained that the elements were like pets, to be trained and worked with, he was interested, but his eyes kept going back to the knife in the wall. Taijutsu sounds pretty incredible... He thought, as his mind pictured himself with blades and throwing knives galore, all hidden, all secret, like a vipers fangs, poised to strike at a moments notice.

She then started asking what the five senses were. instantly Raito went to one of the only senses he trusted; touch. As a boy on the streets, collecting food for his brother was difficult, but he adapted, changed, grew. He would run from place to place, building to building, roof to roof, trusting not in his eyes, but in what he felt beneath his feet, in the small droplets of sweat forming in his palms, in the light winds that would shift randomly as the rushed passed his skin. he felt the world around him, and that was how he survived.

"Touch, Sensei. The ability to feel." Raito said, eyes once again turning to the kunai. He wanted to feel the grib in his hands, wanted to feel the weight through the muscle tension in his arm, and to his displeasure, found himself wanting to feel the pressure and warmth of thrusting it into the men that murdered his parents. he clenched his fist and let his knuckles pop, staring at the blade and letting the class continue.

Everyone has their quirks? What is that supposed to mean? That everyone has a weirdo buried deep inside them? Or that there is a lot of weird people in the world? Aoi was never good at understanding anyone anyway so he figured that maybe he should just let this situation rest as he couldn't see any possible way that the statement could bring him any harm. Therefore, he just nodded his head in acceptance. As for praises, he was used to them so he didn't blush as some people would expect. He just smiled and nodded once more. She then started to twirl a kunai around her finger, Aoi tried to focus on what she is saying instead, bringing his attention to her patched eye. He sighed and decided to just endure all of this, try to accept that there are certain things in this world he just could not help but be, uhmmm, wary of. Yeah, wary is a good word.

Everybody started answering but genjutsu won out in the end by a mere 1 point. He had to give it to her though. She made every aspect of being a shinobi sound nice, exciting. She made him want to learn all of them and be the best at all of them. But as he read in one book, he can only focus on one thing at a time and he could never be the best in everything but he can be excellent in a lot of things. He wondered if maybe he could also be good at certain types of taijutsu. Maybe. Just maybe.

The boy listened to her as she explained what genjutsu does, which differed only in explanation from the books he read. It was a technique that messes with one's senses. Something that makes people fight something that isn't real. Something that harms people via illusions. And that seemed appealing to him. The boy made a spectacular impression of a fish as their sensei activated her sharingan. It was one thing to have heard of the accursed power, but an entirely another to see it for real. It was really a lot more awesome in the books he read. It fell utterly short of his expectations but then again, maybe his books over-hyped the sharingan that's why he was so amazed at how nonstellar it looked? After his few moments of sea creature impersonation, he managed to close his mouth and narrow his eyes to normal. She asked for them to shout one sense each and one of them started shouting the sense of touch. He nodded at him and hoped for his brother to speak. His brother really made the young boy curious. Yami seemed a lot like him, though how much, he doesn't know but he would want to, given the chance.

"
Sense of hearing. People are so obsessed with being able to see their targets. I want to be able to attack them without being seen, letting sound guide their way to disaster." he muttered, awaiting the other students' answers and their sensei's reaction. This really would be a fun class.

Daichi seeing Yami sitting there, smiles runs over to sit next to him. Daichi was surprised that he called out to him. He thought and thought wondering what happened to change his attitude. Suddenly it came to him and he just knew it had to be it. I knew he would warm up to me! It was just a matter of time, smiling like he won something "Man I didn't know you where here too. Such a small world but must be fate haha since I am the greatest ninja to ever live!" Hanging his arm around Yami like he was his best bud. Friend one is secured and conquered. Suddenly hearing his sensei Daichi listens very carefully to what she said. Ha she really does have good hearing. Looking at the knife in the wall he just kept thinking how fun this class is going to be.

Everyone has their own quirks huh? Thinking Daichi asked "sensei of the three types of jutsu does one have an advantage over the other? Or are they all equal to one another? seeing her eye he was in awe. Wow that is so cool!! Genjutsu huh seems kinda hard to fight against with taijutsu. Daichi looking straight and yells out the first sense he could think of. Sight!!! The sense of sight! As a merchants son his father drilled into him to train his eyes to see anything that may be wrong with the merchandise. Day in and day out looking and staring at vases and cloth. Even though his eyes were perfect and very good at noticing the small details he hated it. It was never any fun, but this class is 100 times better. Daichi just couldn't wait to start his taijutsu training. Playfully punching Yami in the arm smiling nonstop Lets start learning!!!!

One by one answers arrived. Mako held out her hand and counted them with the class. One. Touch. Two. Hearing. Three. Sight. No one else spoke up. Mako's eyes narrowed at the class. She waited a moment. "Smell. That's one more. Genjutsu usually doesn't toy with that, but I spose some day there will be a genius who invents a genjutsu that reeks of rotten eggs."<i></i> She paused waiting for the class. No. Nothing? Okay then. "Taste. Once again ... not used as of yet. Who knows, maybe one of you Gruntlings will invent a taste genjutsu. Make your enemy have the smell of ash and death in their mouths. Quite horrifying really, but it'll be something you'll get used to, unfortunately."<i></i> The Veteran placed her hand on her hip. She nodded her head. The boys got it right. Good on the boys.

The Legendary Gruntling spoke up about if jutsus have advantages over the other. "Taijutsu draws less upon your chakra than say ninjutsu. If you want to outlast your foe in terms of your chakra reserves, I'd say stick with taijutsu. Ninjutsu drains you but you hit a lot harder. Genjutsu ... somewhere in the middle in terms of chakra use."<i></i> Mako chewed her lip. She could really used a cigarette right now. She was fighting the urge though. Gruntling Aoi liked keeping everything clean as evidenced by him picking up the toothpick from earlier. Mako searched her person. She in time found some gum. That would do her for the moment.

"Now. When you're subjected to a genjutsu, you can think of yourself being trapped, like in a cage. Now there is a ninjutsu to get you out of this mess."<i></i> She grinned. Yeah. Whoever thought of it was a silly one. "It's called cancel. Nothing special about it, the problem about it is that you need to use it and that takes time. In the theatre of war time means everything, now I'm not saying not to cancel. The problem is that it might take you some time to realize you're under the effect of one. Some of them wear off over time, or if you knock your enemy flat on his or her ass you might get freed from a genjutsu."<i></i> She paused for a moment. "Or if they break vision if its a dojutsu. Then that's another way to get out."<i></i>
