Name: Hachiashi Kumiko
Age: 10
Physical Description: With pale blond hair that drapes down to her shoulders and vivid crimson eyes, along with skin that seemed almost like porcelain, Kumiko looks like a girl who hasn’t seen sunshine in years. This is not due to not going outside or anything like that; rather, this is because she inherited her family’s resistance to being sunburned. Her height is short and her body is slim, such that her arms and legs are of the slender variety. The noticeable feature, however, is the fact that she has six arms in total. Her touch, soft and supple, lacks the rigid callouses from rural life that should have lined her hands. Overall, she portrays the image of a charming doll-like child even with her multitudes of arms—at least, appearance-wise.
Mental Description: Kumiko is a cheerful and upbeat girl. Not the smartest cookie in the jar and not very knowledgeable about technology in general, but she makes up for that with her enthusiasm, determined demeanor, and insatiable curiosity. Unfortunately, that very same curiosity has also gotten her into trouble more times than she can count. It is certainly one of the reasons why she came to Konoha in the first place. Of course, there are some things in life that need to be experienced because one can truly find out their real selves…
History/Bloodline Application: Those born of the Hachiashi clan cannot escape their heritage. With their six arms, they bear the gifts and the stigma of their ancestors. There is no need for names or introductions; one look is all that one needs to know those that bear the Hachiashi ancestry. Scattered throughout the world and generally seen as outcasts, they have splintered throughout the many long centuries.
In the Fire Country, located within a rural farming village that was secluded from most of the technological evolution that the country as a whole was experiencing, was a very small community that retained their Hachiashi heritage. Their lives were simple, but they stayed isolated from the rest of their small village—by choice rather than from any external coercion—always wearing trench coats or long shawls to hide their multitudes of arms, even in the heat of sweltering summers. They made their living through selling their farm produce and webbing. In spite of what many would think, it wasn’t a bad life; the web they produced actually garnered a high enough income that they could live rather peacefully. From childhood, from the moment she grew her extra arms, she was taught that not everyone would understand her—that her friends and even her future mate would need to be carefully chosen for her to ensure the secrecy of their heritage. That was how her mother came into the family, and that was how her future husband would too. However, was that what she wanted? To hide in the shadows for the rest of her life, her days predetermined but always a little bit fearful of the uncertainty ahead? On one dark evening on a day like any other, she packed her small bag and ran away from home, leaving only a farewell note behind.
At the gates of Konoha, a bedraggled child wearing a over-sized shawl that reached her ankles appeared. With lips dried from lack of moisture and unsteady steps, fueled only by the rumors that came from careless tongues, she came before the gates of the village and its stern-faced guards. From there, she voiced her desire. From there, her future began.
