Ko has that classic hair and eye colour of the Yamanaka: That is to say, he has a blonde crown of hair, and glistening blue eyes to match. However, his eyes are covered behind specs that rest on his face, as without them his eyesight is very poor. His hair is well groomed and kept tidy on either side of his face.
He has broad shoulders that match a slightly toned body, as he stands a tall 6 foot 1 inch. His clothing ranges from all sorts during his days off duty from work but is often sporting that classic shinobi vest just in case something happens.
Character's Mental Description:
Ko displays the perfect characteristics of an ENTJ. Energetic, Self-confident and self-willed, charismatic and efficient. However, he is also a little arrogant and big-headed, ruthless and impatient when he begins to not get his way. Within his mind he doesn’t really believe in the needs of the village over his own goals, and the law is just something that other people have to obey. But he doesn’t feel like he has to. In a way, it’s just easier that others follow it so that he can circumvent it.
In combat, his ruthlessness begins to show when targeting enemies. The weakest is targeted and he abuses his knowledge of sense to force the strongest into attacking the weaker. He also isn’t afraid to fight dirty and use every means he has to beat an opponent. Fair fights aren’t considered easy wins after all.
Allies wise he will try his best to encourage and inspire his teammates until they become a hindrance to which he’ll ignore them for the greater goal. He isn’t into treasonous work, and he is happy that the law is there to keep potential competition in the way. But he isn’t afraid to try and escape with almost any means possible.
Friends are considered family to him, and they are family for life… unless the situation becomes dire then it may be for the best that they become long lost relatives… or something. Freedom sometimes has a price after all!
Character History:
Ko’s beginning isn’t all that exciting unlike many of the people born into houses. His parents, one Yamanaka bloodline the other of non-bloodline relations gave birth to a young boy who was 3 weeks premature and sickly. It took a long time for the Cloud-nin to be discharged from the hospital due to the complications of being born early. It took a lot of out of his mother, who would go on to not have any more children. So Ko was just left to be an only child in a small household. Ko’s frail form was due to a problem in his DNA that caused an issue to the chakra coil and the circulatory system. This had to be supplemented by small soldier pills for a long time as a kid just to keep him alive and healthy.
His father, once mednin moved to inquisitor of the Anbu branch due to his strength in illusionary jutsus, always worked hard and late. Ko didn’t know his job (or that he changed from helping by healing to hurting others), just that he admired his father for going out and risking his life for others to make sure his family was safe. But between that and his sickly mother he never really had a chance to grow and learn what it was like to have a family life.
He spent as much time as possible at the academy, taking every chance to learn more about how being a shinobi works. He wasn’t sure what he really needed to do to get to where his dad was… but he wanted to just be like him. He would even learn botany and how flowers worked, like poisons and antidotes. He would try to use them on himself to fix his chakra problems, but nothing worked.
He had begun to develop better at illusionary skills, often pranking some of his fellow students with false objects, clones and similar. Of course, without the evidence how was he going to get caught for these things? No one else could prove these illusions were even real! The only time it was evident was the fact Ko had to use the pills, showing obviously he had used chakra recently.
In this Ko was beginning to develop at a fast rate, despite being a prankster on his fellow classmates. He often used these pranks to get what he wanted and would try and circumvent class rules to get away with it. Not often successful but he was pretty good.

Ko was studying so much to become a Genin that he began to have strange dreams, dreams where it was the middle of the night and he was in someone else’s bed or house. He could move about freely, and everything felt so real. In fact, he could feel the senses of this person, the confusion on other people’s faces as they saw him act a certain way… everything was real.
He would end up waking up in his bed as if nothing had happened, only that time had moved around the same time he had been “active” in his dream. He would feel exhausted as if he had been using chakra just like when he was actively working.
The dreams were continuous every single night after training on his ninja arts. He would lie down, close his eyes, find himself inside someone else’s body, travel around in said body, feel everything they felt, begin to get tired, and then finally wake up in his own home. It was really confusing how this seemed to happen every night. Maybe the genjutsu training he had been doing was beginning to mess with his own brain.
It came to his graduation day, and his father had begun to notice that Ko was looking more and more tired, on edge and a little paranoid. He would have to bring it up after all the celebration was said and done.
” Dad,” the now young genin would awkwardly ask his father the day after his graduation. ” I’m getting these really weird dreams where I’m in someone else’s body, and that I can feel and control everything from it.” His father smiled and shook his head before patting his head.
“Son it’s probably just sleepwalking. You’ll grow out of it, and if you think that you need some help sleeping better then we’ll go to the doctors. But this kind of common for our little family. Maybe reduce the chakra pills a little bit and slow down on the training.”

Ko would develop from being a genin, to joining the Anbu as a trainee. His prowess in illusions and ranged combat made him a perfect candidate to any of the squads in the Anbu. He hadn’t realised this is where his father had ended up during his time in the shinobi force. At this point his father had retired early from “work-related injuries.” An incident with a poison caused his dad to lose the nerve endings in one of his foot which made it too hard to carry on working.
He would continue working through his jobs, earning as much as he could to help his family. They both weren’t well but they were still here. And while they were still here then he would continue working hard and becoming a better shinobi. He would eventually lose his mother to sickness to be left with just his father. And the onset loneliness began. Despite being in a group of people most of the time, it wasn’t the same as seeing people face to face and experiencing their squeals and reactions to constant pranks. But nope… just emptiness working from the village.

Attaining Humanity.
Sickliness has been in his genetics for the longest time. Ko had been struggling with it from since birth. A low chakra level, unable to form chakra of his own for the longest time at school. A strength in only illusionary arts? While being from a Yamanaka descent was helpful in improving his illusionary techniques… he wanted more. He needed to be able to get more of what he wanted, which in this case was to not be shackled by the limitations of his own chakra. Having to take doses and substances to keep up with people wasn’t something he wanted to keep up for the rest of his life.
That’s why he was going to make a heist. A heist into the labs of the hospital, steal research on genetic splicing, somehow get it back into his hands. Then he would have to study it, find a participant with better chakra levels than he does, take some of their genetics, implant them into him over his own… and then hopefully it’ll work. Like a DNA tool kit in his hands. Just being able to piece together other people’s parts and then just add them to his own little body? Sounds like easy work… but how do you even get into the research wing?

Ko awoke from his “accident” to find himself inside the hospital wards of Kumogakure. The first part of the plan was to get within the building to be able to scout and find a perfect target for possession. That was the whole plan indeed. Possess someone with mind/body possession, take control, find the research ward and find work on some kind of genetic work. If he could find an easy how to then so much the better. But this would be the first step on how he could get into such techniques.
”Ugh my head…” he would dramatically call out, alerting a doctor nearby to his bed. He looked old enough, with a trimmed beard, yet marbled with black and grey hair. He was obviously a veteran within the industry in Kumogakure, so was a perfect target to use for his nefarious deeds. ”I-I think I split my head open when I fell.” a little pool of fake blood, a could good scratches with a kunai to the head, and a couple of gullible neighbours to hear the scream as it sounded like he fell down the stairs.
“Well it doesn’t appear to have done too much damage to you,” the doctor replied, touching Ko’s arm as the man would “yelp” in pain, causing the professional to flinch back. “But maybe it’s best to keep you under watch.” The Yamanaka would smile and nod in agreement.
” Then… may I rest? I’m tired and I think I need to get some rest to… recover.” The doctor in return would squint in suspicion before giving in. To which the Yamanaka would close his eyes until the doctor had turned around and then…
”Mind transfer jutsu,” he’d mutter, before entering the mind of the doctor. His body would go limp as if he was completely zoned out. Instead, he was now able to see and feel what the doctor was done passively. It would only be when he felt the time was right that he would take control.
Five minutes would pass and his rounds would be done in this room. Unsure of how long he could maintain this jutsu it was time to enact his plan. He would switch the minds within the doctor around, taking complete control of him. While the doctor was alerted that someone else was now in his mind, at least the body was submissive and quickly walking through the halls of the hospital.
He would ask around for the research lab, acting that he was a little confused and lost due to heatstroke but needed to collect research for work at home. A little bit of a sloppy persuasion but eventually it led him to the Karubin wing of the hospital. It was pretty easy to get in once you had your own personal doctor making his way through the hospital despite his obvious struggled.
The library was huge and hopefully in some kind of order, unlike doctor’s notes. They were always so messy just like how libraries could be. But this was no time for idle thoughts.
”Now if I was a paper on gene therapy where would I be…” Ko would ask himself as the doctor expelled curses within his mind, telling him that he wasn’t going to find such research.
” Oh Doctor-san no need for that language. Just let me do my job and we’ll be done. No harm no foul right? Just tell me where the research is and I’ll let you have your body back.”
The search would be a little longer than he hoped. He didn’t want to lose the contest of controlling the man. But Ko would find a small bit of research on what he was looking for. It looked as complete as he could get. Which was great because all it meant was following through with the procedure and then hopefully it would work.
” Thanks old man. I’m just going to go place this work in a safe area for my body to pick up when I return back there. Hope you don’t mind.” He would take the body back to the hospital wing that his current comatose body was resting in. He would slip the paperwork under his bed before walking the doctor across the hospital before releasing him from his possession.
The Yamanaka would wake up in the hospital bed, pulling off any kind of medical equipment on him, before looking under his bed and taking the research. He would then take supplement soldier pills to keep his strength back up as he tried to escape. He would just use the front entrance, waving off to the reception who were confused that less than an hour ago he was in a stretcher.
The doctor had tried to find him, but unsuccessfully the work on genetic therapy was taken by… himself. Any security near the research would have found that he would have taken it and basically passed it to a patient.

The Yamanaka would find his way back to his apartment, dark and empty as per usual. He would cough and splutter as he used up a lot of chakra just maintaining that jutsu on the doctor… but it was worth it. It was time to cure the ailment he had suffered on for a long time.
Ko read through the research, drinking a cup of coffee that he had heated up in the kettle once he had arrived back. It was long, confusing, and without a medical degree then he was going to have to attempt to wing it and splice someone else’s DNA into him.
It seemed that some genes were more dominant than others… probably why he was passed down his mother’s sickly chakra coils rather than his father’s. All he would need to do is find himself a willing “friend” who would be happy to walk into his place willingly, tie themselves up and then let him take a sample of their cells from all over… probably best to blindfold them.
He would walk outside and look for anyone with a shinobi headband. A youngish man in a slight distance would be the perfect target for this little experiment. So once again he would go to possess the target, though this time with his Name of the Rose on. He would quickly take control of the man, rushing him to his place and covering his eyes with his own headband so he couldn’t see. He would then find his way inside, opening the door and finding the rope he had left out.
Ko would tie his hands in a not, before releasing the mind possession and Name of the Rose. The young Yamanaka would then use this chance to tighten the rope, and dragging him inside. He would have to dose himself up with soldier pills to keep himself up.
It would take many more hours of experimentation, using different kinds of tools to extract things like blood, cheek cells, saliva, all sorts. Anything he could use to strip down into a way to cure his weak chakra coil. Anything to make him fully human again.
He would make a little cut in his arm, before inserting his first attempt of the gene therapy. But it didn’t seem to work at all. Looks like he missed out on temporarily deleting the DNA that controlled the chakra coil. Oops.
He would attempt to delete the cells, using a mix of his basic medical knowledge and learning from the research. He would then try once more, turning his chakra coils on just enough to heal up the wounds.
He would wonder if it worked, it the research was starting to get his abilities to full strength. He didn’t feel weak more… like he was constantly on those soldier pills. They had worn off, right? It was only smart to try it out by untying his little volunteer, possessing him quickly and then walking him out of here for about 300 meters before dropping him off.
He would eventually return to his body, finding that it had indeed improved his situation. He was no longer suffering from chakra coil weakness. Instead, he could feel like he was human. Now all he had to learn was having to not do all this so… messily. If he could just grab the cells from just touch? It would make things so much easier the next time he tried it.
Oh… he guessedhe didn’t need the research anymore. Maybe he could sneak it back into the hospital without any person realising.

He would make a little cut in his arm, before inserting his first attempt of the gene therapy. But it didn’t seem to work at all. Looks like he missed out on temporarily deleting the DNA that controlled the chakra coil. Oops.
He would attempt to delete the cells, using a mix of his basic medical knowledge and learning from the research. He would then try once more, turning his chakra coils on just enough to heal up the wounds.
He would wonder if it worked, it the research was starting to get his abilities to full strength. He didn’t feel weak more… like he was constantly on those soldier pills. They had worn off, right? It was only smart to try it out by untying his little volunteer, possessing him quickly and then walking him out of here for about 300 meters before dropping him off.
He would eventually return to his body, finding that it had indeed improved his situation. He was no longer suffering from chakra coil weakness. Instead, he could feel like he was human. Now all he had to learn was having to not do all this so… messily. If he could just grab the cells from just touch? It would make things so much easier the next time he tried it.
Oh… he guessedhe didn’t need the research anymore. Maybe he could sneak it back into the hospital without any person realising.
