Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kami, he was bored.

A red-haired boy leaned against a stone building a short distance away from the Academy, within the Spartan Quarters. He was garbed in a purple short-sleeved shirt, covered by a black cloth vest, which had a hood attached to it. A glance down would reveal black slacks, and standard shinobi sandals of the same color. The boy was easily thirteen in age, lean and well built despite his odd skinniness. A glance at his eyes would reveal violet sharingan eyes, with three tomoe in each eye, which never seemed to stop swirling albeit in a slow, lazy fashion. These eyes were covered somewhat by eyelids which seemed to just manage to stay open. The boy twirled around a kunai in his hands, occasionally finding himself tempted to cut open his hand to bleed because it would give him something to do. Though he had just become a Genin no one had taken him in as their student yet, and so he was still free game it seemed. Although, perhaps no one wanted someone who was already trained by their parents. A small frown formed on the boy's face at the thought, violet hues beginning to stare at the students in the academy with a small hint of envy. Perhaps his time would come when he could find a sensei.

The boy turned around to see if anyone was behind him for lack of anything better to do. He saw no one of immediate concern and so he returned to watching the children at the Academy practice their kunai throwing skills. He pondered for a few moments volunteering, seeing as he could read their movements more thoroughly with the Sharingan than others could. This enabled him to be a better teacher, as far as explaining things... In theory. Perhaps. He was thinking too much, he should probably go and retrieve a D-Ranked mission for times' sake however something compelled him to continue leaning against the building as if waiting for someone or something to alleviate his boredom for him. It was only a matter of time, the boy supposed, until someone came around.

Ah, yes, the Academy. The place where all the young children of Iwagakure go to learn to become Shinobi, fierce protectors of their homeland. A better term for it would be 'child soldier', but it seemed like some people actually took offense at the notion that they were training these kids so that they could potentially lose their lives in a painful fashion. How many were sacrificed in the past in a futile attempt to stop the hate machine known as Sin? How many were easily trampled under foot or taken into blood stained jaws to feed a never ending hunger? How many had died? How many more will?

A smirk would form on her lips, a figure hidden within shadows as she looked out over the field of students. She was looking for something...she didn't know what exactly, but she was sure she would find it here. Black eyes slowly scanned the area before finally resting on a figure standing a distance away, her smirk turning into a smile. Maybe that was it? She would need a better look. It was easy enough to move from shadow to shadow, slithering eventually turning into walking as she made her way towards the boy, wishing that she didn't need so much secrecy. It was a bother to have to slink around even though she was a registered student, but she knew that any number of eyes that fell on her could belong to any number of enemies. Even now she was taking a risk much like she had with the woman at the apartments, but she certainly couldn't get anything done by staying to the shadows, could she?

"You look like your about to fall asleep." Would come that sweet, melodic voice from Yoruko's right, Sadako leaning against the wall next to her. She was dressed in a traditional school outfit, of medium height and with silky smooth hair, black as night and hanging down to her waist, and about the boy's age. She was very lovely to look at, though some could feel uneasy at how symmetrical her face was, both halves perfectly identical save for the beauty mark below her left eye. "What's wrong? You don't have any more classes for the day?"

Once again, his instincts had been direct on target.

The boy heard the soft footsteps of someone approaching him despite the perhaps unconscious intent to be quiet. He heard the soft voice behind him, head twisting to face her with red locks of hair flowing behind him over his opposite shoulder. Yoruko's violet Sharingan eyes, with three tomoe in each orb took in the schoolgirl appearance of the female before him and appeared disinterested as far as looks went. The word that seemed closest to describing her was cute, in the boy's eyes. However, the word held no true worth to him and so he discarded it for the time being. Although a smirk graced the boy's lips, he was somewhat amused at her first statement upon arrival. Truly, he had indeed felt on the urge of resting against the building, but he would never allow himself to sleep in a place like this, against a building while spying on children. What sordid excuse for a shinobi, despite rank, would do such a thing? Allowing the comment to fade from his mind, he refocused his attention on what she had said afterwards. The assumption he was a student wasn't so far-fetched for him to be insulted, and instead the boy's smirk seemed to widen, if not by a hair or two.

"I did feel like taking a nap if nothing happened..." He spoke, leaning off of the wall as he crossed his arms, that same bored expression returning to his face after a few moments after responding to her. He wasn't interested in why herself had been attempting to hide her presence so thoroughly, she didn't seem to be old enough to have merited her share of foes, but appearances had a tendency to be deceiving . . .

Another reason to be thankful for his lineage, the Sharingan.

The boy barely glanced at the woman's beauty mark, instead focusing on her eyes. They were the defining trait of a person, and he was interested in seeing how her eyes were. Were they the eyes of a killer? Or perhaps the eyes of innocent? He decided to cut it short for now, not that he would know the eyes of a killer if he saw them, not yet. They weren't easy to identify, not in this village, where those who fought were near the people who cared for them. "No, my classes have been over for a few weeks, I passed my Genin Exam nearly two weeks ago... I am Murasaki, Yoruko, and who might you be?" The boy asked, watching the woman and waiting to see what her response would be.

"I couldn't help but notice...you stand out quite a bit, even if you aren't doing anything." She would say as she finally got a good look at the boy's eyes, head tilting to the side at their unique pattern. She saw this before...what was it? It was moments like this that made her feel so out of the loop, a sheltered upbringing by a cult having to do quite a bit with it. The tomoe...Uchiha...ah, the Sharingan. She gave a small nod of her head as she remembered now, the smile on her lips spreading. During this time they had been looking into each others eyes, both attempting to figure each other out. Her eyes were black, the iris' dark enough to almost blend with the pupils. The more he looked the more they seemed to darken, pulling him in, not a doujutsu but something that felt just as unnatural. And if he had looked hard enough, if he was receptive, he could see the strangest thing of all...

There was no reflection. Not of the light nor of himself, there was nothing but darkness.

A Genin! My, how exciting! I've never encountered one as young as you...you must be exceptionally talented. I take it that those lovely eyes of yours has something to do with it." She would say before the boy introduced himself, the girl taking a liking to that name. "Kiriyama Sadako, it's a pleasure to meet you." She would say as she looked away, turning her gaze towards the children who were practicing their kunai aiming. "Seems like a strange place to pass the time...what were you hoping to find here?" She would ask, a gentle hand moving to tuck a few errant black locks behind her ear. "If you're bored you should find a way to entertain yourself. Tell me, Yoru-chan, what do you like to do for fun?"

The boy stood there in silent contemplation at the woman's first response to him almost as though the words gave him something to think about. So he was inherently interesting? That could be a problem if he was going to be a stealth based fighter, although... The idea of people following him was a nice one, especially in the future. That he could attract people whilst doing nothing was a feat that many would kill for, that he had it without effort... That was very useful. His violet eyes studied the black ones with which they were faced, and noticed that they held no light within them. Were he not sure she was not an Uchiha, he would think that she had exhausted her visual prowess. While it was true that he felt pulled by them, there was no revulsion to the pull, a pure allure to the darkness with which they were filled. His eyes flashed with a bit of interest, his own lips formed into a slight smirk, as though he had something to do after all. His own violet sharingan eyes twirled around in a lazy fashion, however the held the glint of something within them. It wasn't light inside of them, it was the look of a killer.

He wondered if she could see it in his eyes, but it was evident that she hadn't noticed them quite yet by way of her continuation of their conversation. He took the compliment on his abilities in stride, choosing to respond to her comment about his eyes. "You could say that part of it has to do with my eyes. I will not lie... My parents had a hefty hand in my education. Though... I've found that fighting in a real life or death situation tends to be the best thing to learn with." He responded with a cool tone, eyes never leaving her face, to watch her expression. Her chakra system was filled with a unique energy, in his eyes he saw that it was a shade of blue so dark it may very well have been black itself. He was intrigued that her chakra was abnormal, considering that most people had a light blue chakra tint... This meant something special about her, though he could only speculate what. His eyes returned to her, ignorant of any implications that may have come from his eyes roaming her body.

"I had a feeling that something would come to me. Be it an idea, a person, or even a creature of some sort to pass the time. As it so happens... I was correct." He responded tot he woman with a natural tone, his gaze turning to face the children who were tossing the kunai with what looked like a great deal of effort, but without the grace that he himself possessed. He had been processing her name while he spoke and simply nodded slightly in acknowledgment of the name. It fit her, he thought. As she asked of him what he did for fun... He was not sure that he should answer truthfully. It was a rather boring habit of his, as he lacked anything else to do. With no real plans for the future, he had nothing to work toward. It was something he was meaning to correct, but the boy had no interest in rushing into such a thing. Well, with nothing else to say, he glanced up at the clouds.

"I like to watch as the clouds dance in the sky, before fading into nothing. And... I take missions to pass the time. Everything else, seems dull." He spoke. 'You may perhaps be one such exception, however... If your eyes are any clue.' He tacked on within his thoughts. He decided to reverse the question onto her, curious what this young woman his age would consider fun. "What do you like to do for fun... Sadoko-chan?" He asked, tacking on her name to test the waters. Coming from his voice, the name held perhaps just a little bit of interest as he spoke it, though she wouldn't catch it were she not observant in listening for vocal cues.

A part time teacher as she was, Yuki was hanging around the academy herself. The sunny day left things quite bright unfortunately for her stealthiness. But she was a shadow user and so she was easily hiding in the darkness of a nearby shade tree. Up in the branches she watched the students she didn't know very well practice with kunai. They were young and it would be a long while before they reached the goal they were practicing for. Some were doing quite well for their age. Such was the state of the stone. Strong ninja even down to the youngest academy student.

She smiled as she watched, but soon her attention turned to a young boy nearby. He was flipping a kunai and looking rather bored. His familiarity with the kunai he was flipping indicated a level of skill that meant he was finally year or graduated despite his age. She had not met this one and wondered which student he was. If she knew his name she might remember him as she went over student profiles. It wasn't long before a girl came by and struck up conversation with him and she learned just that.

Kiriyama Sadako she did not recognize, must still be a student. She made a point to remember all graduates. But she indeed recognize Murasaki Yoruko. She was right to assume he was graduated. She remembered his bloodline was indicated as Uchiha. Such was confirmed by those violet hues and swirling tomoe she could just make out. Other notes was how young he graduated. In fact some rumor about his mission success were spreading around a bit as well.

Well she couldn't miss the opportunity to make his acquaintance

Dropping out of the tree and falling into the shadows below, she would walk out into the light of the beautiful cloudless day. Her shadowy spell would fall off her as the light hit and it would be as if she was appearing out of thin air to most skilled ninja even. Academy students stopped and stared for a moment before continuing their routines.

"Hello there" she greeted with a pleasant smile as her long brown hair was picked up and carried out behind her by the wind. Her emerald eyes held nothing but pleasantness in them as she approached. "Kiriyama Sadako" she bowed, then turning to the red head boy "Murasaki Yoruko" she then relieved her bow. She used her accidental ease dropping to act as if she already knew who they were. A lot of teaching was acknowledging students you didn't know and try to make them feel important by knowing them. So it was natural she would pretend as such, at least as far as names were concerned.

"Nice day out, how are we doing? Not many genin come back to visit the academy, what brings you here?" she asked, having already heard he was bored.

The boy looked her over, though it wasn't the leering, lustful gaze that she was accustomed to getting. He was looking through her, into her, peering into the inky blackness that served as her chakra system. It coalesced, shifted, and at one point he could swear that he could see jaws snarling at him before he returned his gaze to her face. "Fighting for one's life has always been the best teacher...it brings out the best and worst of us." His next words would cause her to smirk as she stepped closer to him, starting to like the way his eyes bore into her, there was no doubt that the boy knew there was more to her. Should she be so careless? She shouldn't, but she enjoyed this little game she played with him, this talking between them. "And little did you expect, in a way, to get all three, did you? You mus be absolutely delighted." The young woman would muse as she reached out to gently run her finger tips over his chest if he let her, eyes looking up into his once more.

He talked of his pastimes, of watching clouds and taking missions, of the ennui that filled his life. Perhaps it was do to how proficient he was, a genius that has already graduated from his class at his age. Aloof, above others, he could be the kind of person that knew how good he was and found all others wanting...all except for her apparently. His eyes showed interest, and soon came the words that confirmed it. "My eyes? Oh, you flatterer you...I bet you say that to all the young ladies..." She would say, acting coy as she batted her eyelashes at him. He then turned the question towards her, about what she would find fun.

She would become silently as she looked at him, thinking it over, those black eyes fixated on his face are her smile became neutral. What she found fun? What did she find fun? What did she like? That's when the boy would see it, the first spark in those black eyes, an energy seeming to well up in them. Her smile spread and spread, revealing her teeth, slowly going from happy, to excited, to manic. There was so much she enjoyed...so many things that brought her happiness. The smell of a battlefield after a bloody conflict, the screams and laments of the dead and dying, the sound of a spine snapping under the pressure of a powerful set of jaws, the relentlessness of a passionate lover, eating ice cream on a hot summer day....

She would open her mouth to speak, unsure herself of what she was going to say before they were suddenly interrupted, her smile returning to a smaller, welcoming one as she turned to face Yuki. She had seen her around the school...she wanted to say as a teacher despite how young she looked. Black eyes looked her over, her smile growing a bit more as she returned her greeting. "Good afternoon, sensei." She would say, folding her hands on her lap and giving her a respectful bow. It seemed that the teacher was more interested in Yoruko, which was just fine for Sadako as she stood at his side, taking the moment to look over Yuki appreciatively once more.

His eyes never missed anything, not a single detail.

His Sharingan caught the snarling jaws within her chakra system, though at first he thought that his eyes were playing tricks with him. He shifted his position slightly, hearing the faint sound of leaves nearby. He knew they had someone nearby, but whom it was was of little concern to him at the moment, if they wished to involve themselves with him... They would do so, as Sadako had. The woman before him seemed to know of the pleasures of battle... He admitted to himself that this woman had gone somewhat beyond a small amount of interest. The way they were talking, it seemed that this was no mere meeting.. His gut instinct had served him well, it would do him far greater good in the long run in all likeliness. That she was intrigued by their conversation and shared the interest in him was apparent. His eyes did see everything, after all. He felt a soft smirk force it's way up on his face, his eyes flashing although whether it were the light or something else could be interpreted by the woman before him. "To say that I am delighted... Is an understatement." He spoke as he soon felt her fingers upon his chest. A split second later after she was resting her hand on his chest, he felt the hairs on his covered arms lift, as he quelled a shiver. He didn't understand this feeling that she brought upon him with a mere touch.

Decidedly he was fine with her touching him, as he made no move to remove her hand from his person. Violet eyes continued to gaze into hers, confident and cold despite the boredom that had been in them earlier. That boredom had been replaced with the interest that he had displayed throughout the course of their conversation together. This woman held this air of mystery that both served as an invitation for someone such as himself who was a curious beast by nature, and at the same time seemed confident in her own movements and speech. He was sure that she was special in her own way, the black-hued chakra was an indicator of that... Especially those jaws. The comment of finding all three made sense as he thought about it. She probably had a demon sealed in her or something... That wasn't abnormal in these times, he'd heard from his parents about people called Jinchûriki... He mentally shrugged in time to hear her response about his comment insofar as her eyes. Once again that smirk replaced itself on his face and Yoruko found himself wondering when exactly it had faded.

He could see the smile fade to a neutral one as her eyes rested on his facial features. His Sharingan eyes however, did not leave the onyx hued orbs which seemed rather distant now. That she was distracted by her thoughts was evident, but it seemed his earlier presumption too was correct in every way. The woman before him was nigh a complete mystery to him, but he found himself wanting. He wanted to know what it was that she was thinking, that would cause her to hesitate in such a manner, that she would not answer immediately. Could it be that she enjoyed things of a darker nature, dark as her eyes? She was an enigma to the man and he was determined to figure her out . . .

It was then that the tree rustled, and in Yoruko's perspective, time ceased to pass at all. A soft step back and a twist would have him facing towards the woman, his hand snapped towards his pouch and drew out the kunai ready to strike. The violet Sharingan eyes spotted a glint of metal as he witnessed the Iwagakurian symbol upon a band of metal. He slowly drew himself out of a combat stance, and the kunai found its way back into his pocket. The violet Sharingan stared with a bit of an annoyed look in them, a frosty glare in the direction of the woman. He had seen Sadako's lips open to form what it was she was going to say... Though he would ask her again later, he was sure. For now... He had this to deal with. The woman introduced herself as an Academy teacher, though to be truthful Yoruko did not recognize her. He long since had stopped caring about who taught him what, as the lessons were useless to him. Everything he would have learned from the Academy he had learned from his parents at least three years prior. Those cold eyes of his took in the youthful appearance of the woman and he found himself staring at what seemed to be an azure tint of chakra. In addition, he felt a slight chill run through him. He was unsure of the meaning of this color of chakra, but at least there were no jaws snarling at him this time.

The boy saw her bow, and speak their names without introducing herself. He assumed Sadako bowed as she introduced herself, however Yoruko would not show such respect to someone whom had been, as far as he was aware spying on their encounter. He crossed his arms, the warmth of the woman's touch not forgotten in this young man's mind. He decided that despite her intrusion he would try to be somewhat polite... Though he would not grace her with a bow, he would instead speak in a tone somewhat frostier than before, despite his Uchiha lineage. "If you have been there for as long as I believe you have, then you already know. I was waiting for something to transpire... To occupy my time and my thoughts, and as you can see.. I have found that something... Or rather, someone. Now, who are you, that you might know our names and not introduce yourself?" The blunt tone was there, present quite audibly in the tone although it laced with irritation subtle as a leaf just beginning to die among very much alive leaves. He knew that the teacher would not have missed his drawing his kunai, and he was doubly sure that Sadako hadn't either. This did not concern him much, however . . . They knew that he wasn't to be trifled with idly, that much he had hoped was clear.

The young Yukata ignored the closeness at which they were portraying. It was not uncommon for kids to get a bit out of hand sometimes, but the female corrected her stance, and nothing need be said about it. A simple raise of her eyebrow displayed the discontent with the display of affection at a school. However what she could not ignore was the Uchiha's reaction to her approach. He was so cold and dark, in personality anyways. It was not the type of person she would want near the students about. His drawing of the kunai in the area was rather harsh estimate of his surroundings. Over all, she could tell he sensed her presence before she made herself known, maybe just barely, but way over-reacting. His words confirmed it.

"Woah woah, no need to be hostile. You should be more respectful like your friend here. I apologize for not introducing myself. I am Yukata Yuki, a teacher here at the academy. Part time anyways. I just wanted to see how you all were doing. As I stated, I was interested in why a genin was hanging around the academy so freshly from graduating. Most run off" She said trying to remain polite and pleasant despite being upset with his attitude. "I assure you I wasn't dropping no ease, I was simply watching over the students from above when I noticed you two. I apologize if I made you feel as such, though I did over hear your names is all" She promised.

These two were making her feel awkward. She should be more at ease, but something was off about them and it bothered her so deeply that she could not pinpoint it. She could tell this conversation was going to be short lived. And that she wanted to get away from them. But as a teacher it was her job to pursue Miss Sadako and make sure she behaved.

"Young miss, Might i request saving such physical show of liking someone for outside the academy?" She asked rhetorically. "After all most the students around here are much younger" she hoped she would understand. She wouldn't want to involve the dean in this.

God it felt so weird trying to be teacher like to someone barely younger than herself. But it was her job. They need not know her age.

Sadako turned her eyes towards Yoruko for a moment, unable to help but be amused at his tone and manner. It was rare to see a human who was so open about their feelings, even if thy happened to be particularly negative. Her eyes looked back at Yuki as the other woman began to speak. It seemed that Sadako's memory was correct when it came to Yuki's role as a teacher at the academy, surprising considering how young she was. Ah, but should she really be all that surprised by it? This place was created to turn young children into shinobi, and taking into account the mortality rate of that profession it would make sense that younger people would have to step up and take leadership positions. As the woman talked Sadako could sense the unease within her, trying not to smile as she enjoyed how awkward the woman must have felt. Accused of spying on her students, having one of them draw a weapon on her...she was sure that she wasn't ready for that.

Yuki had turned her words towards Sadako now, and though her face didn't reflect her feelings she didn't like at all how she was lecturing her. She didn't like authority, resented it, a chaotic individual like her hating any restraints placed on her person. She wanted to open her mouth, to respond with a song, to deafen the woman and make her kneel....but she wouldn't. Her cheeks turned pink, delicate hands moving up to cover them as she displayed all the typical signs of embarrassment. "I...I wasn't doing anything of the sort! We were just talking!" She would try to defend herself, looking away as she folded her hands on her lap. "I barely even know him...you shouldn't jump to conclusions like that, sensei!"

It would be a lie to say he wasn't pleased by the unease he caused within her.

His eyes did not miss that her unease was genuine, obvious to him as she seemed rather defensive. His violet eyes watched the woman before him less like a hunter, much more like the bored expression that was found on his face earlier. This woman presumed that he was being rude, when in reality... It had been her intrusion which was rude. The two of them had been in an obvious conversation before she'd jumped in, and as a result he was allowed to be visibly irritated to an extent. In fact, all things considered his behavior was minor when compared to other, rowdier boys in his time at the academy. He'd been smarter than them too, and wound up getting every one of them kicked out of class on more than one occasion, though the staff had never caught onto him, since he did not outwardly provoke them into attacking him. A mental smirk formed as he recalled those days at the academy, where he felt such complete control, as well as power.

His mind returning to the current situation he was deciding how to continue this conversation, he noticed the uneasiness was still present as she addressed Sadako. The way she addressed Sadako caused him to garner a slight frown. She had done nothing over the top, a hug would've been more noticeable. Though he was not complaining about the little bit of physical affection he had received, nor did he belittle it. His eyes came to a slight narrowed position as the tomoe stopped rotating. "It as Sadako-chan says... Yuki-san." The young man paused in his vocal musings as his position shifted to one of boredom itself, one arm dropping down to his side as the other rested in a relaxed manner upon his hip. "There was nothing inappropriate about her behavior, she saw something upon my person and saw fit to remove it." He stated in a calm manner, any hint of irritation gone. That he was irritated was a sure thing, but he felt no further need to let the woman before him know. His parents had taught him quite well how to mask his emotions, and to be blunt, it was just another reason that he loathed them.

As he finished his musings about his parents he would twist around, and look into Sadako's eyes without tilting his head. Those eyes hungered for more, curious what those words were that she had left unsaid mere minutes before. Though it was a simple question, her hesitance to answer had left him with an undying curiosity. That curiosity was to be sated, post haste. There was never any question that he would not receive his answer, it was a sure thing. He spoke after a few seconds after having responded to Yuki and her accusation towards Sadako-chan. "Though I am hungry... And this is a lousy place for conversation... I'm in the mood for some Tempura, how about you, Sadako-chan?" He asked, beginning to step past the girl for her to follow behind. He spoke in an incredibly low voice that only she could hear as he walked past her, whispering just low enough for her to hear.

"What would you like to dine on?"

Yuki frowned. She had not mistaken the sexual tension betwixt the two, but they had her vocally. She would just let it roll off, as they seemed to into each other to hold conversation. Honestly they had something off about them. Something intensely off. She would research into them and keep her eyes on them. She sighed as they would leave. "Enjoy your evenings" she stated, still being polite despite the cold reception her greetings had met.

"That sounds like a terrific idea. Have a good day, Sensei!" She say cheerfully, waving towards the woman before turning and following Yoruko, heading off into the city.
