Character's Physical Description:
Kyou is a petite woman in her very early twenties. Due to her sickly childhood she never really grew tall, standing at 4' 9'', which is quite the contrast with her faithful companion at her side, who now stands at a little over a meter tall himself. Whilst her figure might not show it at first Kyou is quite well toned and can easily keep up with the physical demands of her profession. She has dark-blue to purple hair that reaches past her waist and light-blue eyes, which fit quite well with her tanned skin colour.
Character's Mental Description:
One would think an orphan would have at least some sort of mental trauma, however with Kyou that is not the case. Being picked up at such a young age had given her a normal childhood, as normal as a chakra wielders childhood could be. She grew up to be a fairly serious individual, who also knows to have fun whenever she can. Overall Kyou tends to maintain a rather impassive attitude when it comes to work related areas of her life, although that quickly changes when she has some time to herself, where a smile is not such a rare occurrence. She has no real quirks and can sometimes end up not knowing when to stop talking, although she can just as often become far too quiet.

Character History:
“We can’t.” A firm male voice stated as the sun disappeared behind the sand dunes. “You know the rules. I hate it as well, but we both know she isn’t long for this world.” The man added, his voice wavering this time. Pain had seeped into his tone as he firmly stood his ground between his wife and the basket on the table. A few puppies were playing at his feet, however he wasn’t paying any attention to them at all.
“We can’t just…” The woman interjected, her voice insinuating that she was in a large amount of pain, whether it be mental or physical we will never know.
“No. The runt of the litter will be treated as such.” Her husband interrupted her as he picked the basket up and headed towards the exit of their tent. No matter how much the woman tried she couldn’t get up at all. The puppies continued their game, completely unaware as to what was going on, or at least most of them did. One of them stopped and stared for a few moments before following the man out of the tent. It was the largest and strongest of its litter and as such it was the pride of its mother, but she didn’t move from her spot at the corner of the tent.
The puppy followed the man into the desert and how long had passed was not a concept it could understand, but it was safe to assume it had been hours at this point, seeing as how the moon was high up in the sky by the time they reached an oasis. After another few minutes the man stopped next to one of the trees and placed the basket down at the base of the tree. Tears were running down his face as he uncovered what was in it. A baby, no more than a few days old, opened its light-blue eyes and stared up with him. It smiled as it reached up, further breaking his heart. “No… I can’t. I’m sorry.”
He shook his head and stood up, his gaze falling on the pup behind himself. “You aren’t a smart one are you? Let’s go back.” He gestured for it to follow as he prepared to make the long journey back to the camp, but the dog refused to move. It walked over to the basket and licked the baby’s face before curling up next it. “Very well.” The man nodded as he walked off into the night, not glancing back for even a second.
Not long after he left the nearby shrubs parted as an old woman walked over to the basket. Her back cracked and creaked as she knelt down. The puppy rose up, baring its teeth and growling, as the woman attempted to reach over and take the basket. It was going to protect the child. After all it could already feel the bond between the two. This was his master, his lifelong companion. He wasn’t going to abandon her, or at least that is what he would have thought if he was human, although one shouldn’t underestimate the intelligence of man’s best friend.
“Don’t worry little one. I mean you two no harm.” The woman smiled, her voice somehow warm and kind. “I know what you are and this might be fate.” She added as the dog relaxed, allowing the woman to take the basket, and followed the old lady as she also headed off into the night, basket in hand.
A sad story some might argue, but our protagonist would disagree. The old woman who had saved her became her mother and she lived a happy life, even though she was very sickly in her childhood. Just as he real father had stated she was the runt of the litter and she just barely made it through her first couple of years. Maybe she wasn’t going to make it if it wasn’t for who had found her.
The woman who became her mother was a former shinobi, a retired medical ninja to be exact. She had decided to take her leave from the life of a ninja and had started living in the oasis where our protagonist had been abandoned. Through a mix of medical knowledge and chakra Kyou managed to live through and slowly but surely grew stronger. By the time she was five years old she was perfectly healthy and the bond between the now grown up puppy and herself had grown immeasurably.
The Tibetan Mastiff was now much larger than her, standing at close to a meter tall, and weighing multiple times as much as her at 105 kilograms it really was a sight to behold. The black and white beast was undoubtedly her guardian and closest companion. It cared for Kyou as if was her brother.
When the girl began manifesting signs chakra usage her training began. Her newly-found mother was a strict teacher and as such it was a rather gruelling process, however it is due to her teachings that she became who she is today. Kyou joined the academy later than most would and showed much greater knowledge and understanding than many of her peers in the areas of taijutsu and medical techniques. She had little talent when it comes to genjutsu and as such she had difficulty in those areas, however that didn’t stop her from undertaking her genin exam. It was a difficult task for many as they were asked to survive in a hostile environment for a month, something which was second nature to her at this point. Finding food and shelter was easy as her companion kept her safer and her heightened senses were more than enough to help her avoid any danger. Out of fifteen students only five remained by the end of the test and one had died in an unfortunate accident.
As soon as she was able to take a test to become a medical ninja Kyou did just that. Her mother had trained her in almost everything she knew and as such it was a rather simple task once more. The test had been to assist one of the medical ninja during his rounds and that had been a brilliant opportunity to show her knowledge and understanding. That however was only the start of the harsh training as her mother began teaching her the advanced techniques, something which took years. Heck even at this point she was far too much to learn and far too many areas to improve.
