Character History:
The eldest son and head of a major Santaru Branch. Located on the outskirts of Kumogakure.
The major primary Branch, where’in the head of the clan sits is not the one Santaru Yoshi found himself born, instead when the first son of the esteemed Ichirou Branch was born, the family couldn’t be prouder, for now they had a contender for the Clan’s leadership. They wished for this, and they strived towards it.
This resulted in Santaru Yoshi having an upbringing filled with training, mastering, and preparation, all in the works for him to reach the goal his parents had set for him. They worked him tirelessly, and he bore it. He bore it all the way, his shoulders, being naught but a child’s he held firm and stayed course listening to his parent’s every word, learning all manner of skills meant for an esteemed noble, and clan head. The only artistic skill he learned was calligraphy, where he at least felt he could show a little creativity.
But alas, when he reached the proper age, and he was ready, he was sent to the Academy, he was a bit of a brat at some times, but otherwise throughout his time at the Academy, Yoshi was a striver for perfection. And ultimately worked every night, and practiced his jutsu abilities. His family sat at home, and looked unto their son with proudfull eyes, Yoshi though, kept to himself at the Academy and rarely made any friends. He only met Kogami Ayumu briefly through an exercise, where the Academy students were training, and Chuunin where assisting them in learning tactical group organisation. He worked with Ayumu for the duration of the exercise, where Yoshi felt, he could really showcase his abilities in a proper environment, for it was in organisation, and proper forms where he excelled in.
He completed his exams with top scores, even harming several examiners in the process of showcasing his lightning Jutsu, followed up with shouting and cursing at the brashness of the student he was judging. Then, during his time as Genin, out on a mission, his group was assaulted by Bear Country Shinobi, surprising the estimations set forth by the sensei accompanying them. In the fight that ensued, Santaru Yoshi, utilized every skill he had learned, throwing shurikens with rocks at bushes to distract the enemy, to see where the enemy would look, throwing smoke bombs, to hide his movements, placing explosive notes he had written in haste, where he was running around. He had taken charge, and only through his actions were they able to escape capture and escape death.
During most of his time in school, and on missions, Yoshi was a loner, he didn’t make many friends, he didn’t smile often, and he calculated his every answer. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to make friends, he just genuinely didn’t know how to really interact without planning his words carefully, he had taken a liking to reading his friend’s emotions, and thoughts, figuring out intentions, and plans through careful analysis of face, hands, legs, and general body language, every contracted muscle, every smile, every stare or look given and how it was received. He’d write stories from the interactions he saw, how Yuno’s grandfather whenever he was mentioned or referenced to, he had a bitter, and frustrated look upon him, clearly an anger or resentment towards, but his arms would contract, and his hands turned to fists, so it was clearly an anger within him. Or whenever Shii was looking at Yuno, there were signs of compassion and care, she looked at him as if they were already married, but that was only when he would be looking away. But at the same time she respected and admired his grandfather so couldn’t help but mention him every so often. Which did nothing to promote their friendship, as Yuno only got more angry when they would be interacting.
He became a bit of a savant at reading interactions, which unfortunately resulted in his own reactions being minimal, to avoid others being able to do the same thing to him, he avoided interactions in general wherever he could, simply because of this fear. What he lacked, he felt, was someone genuine to themselves, their intentions, and what they stood for, and acted upon them. The only person he would ever imagine would be one such an individual was the Kage, at the time, the Kage was Shin, but alas, by the time he were to be granted an audience, was unfortunately after his untimely demise.
Back home, with his parents, he had taken up the assignment of writing the documents for his father, taking over from a weak and frail assistant that had been with the family for decades. The young Yoshi wrote most, if not all of the official writings from the branch during this time. At least when he wasn’t away at missions. The family had planned, when Yoshi was of the right age, which was at the time he was getting ready for his Chuunin exams, that he would be married with another Santaru. Chosen by the family, and introduced to him by the family, an obligation like all larger clans had to be placed upon them. Especially those in the line for succession.
During his time as a Chuunin, he avoided his parents, as he wished to be more focused on his position within the village, more so than his position within his family, and so he went out on a lot of missions, he was relentless, and he even once escaped from the Medical facilities, just so he could go and pick up another mission from the offices.
His father got him a house within the village at large, right by the The Dawnbringer's Plaza in order to keep him inspired from past glory days. Which he genuinely took to heart.
From this house, he operated, and continually focused on striving to become better, faster, stronger and ultimately become the perfect Jounin for when the time came. Unfortunately it didn’t last long, as when the day came, and Santaru Rin, the then clan leader was reported to have committed suicide. The clan was in shambles, they mourned for 7 days, and 7 nights. Until the Clan moot would be held. The branch leaders had gathered in the Santaru Estates, where the Head Branch sits, usually. Here they held their moot, but alas, when they had called in Saeko, the daughter and next in line for succession for the leadership, her utterances were of disastrous material and supposedly, the brash, and rude nature which she exhumed left the Clan Branch heads to all vote unanimously on forcing her out of the estate, and remove her of her line for succession.
This resulted in two things.
The time after was a tumultuous one, chaotic even. The death of a Kage is a terrible thing, and the break between that, and peace happening again is always the worst of time for any town, village, or citadel. He didn’t have time or energy to focus on meeting the Kage during this time. As all of his efforts were put into hunting Shinobi leaving the village, or destroying rebel factions that had risen through the ashes of the Kage’s death. Or had risen between the ranks of those in disagreement with Saito’s rise to Kage-ship. Even more so in the frame between Saito and Shin.
What this stress, and the sheer amount of work he put in, resulted in him getting bumped up to Jounin through the Main Branch ranks.
Yoshi could definitely place this time, for himself to be one of the worst times he could be around. But the results were astronomical, and you could not deny the results that came from this time. He work tirelessly in hos own way though. Which made him barely visible to anyone who wasn’t looking beyond the Santaru Clan’s doors.
Because inside the doors he would be training, signing papers writing letters, and working, rinse, and repeat.
Now, it seemed the time had come, for him to leave the estate, and start working again with the village. His first stop, was the coronation of the next Kage.
