Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Hayashi Masahiko

Rank Academy Student

Age 17

Gender Male

General Description
Masahiko is noticeably tall at six feet and seven inches, wielding a lanky figure that lacks much muscle. Long and flowing violet-hued locks frame a handsome face so touched with feminity that he appears almost androgynous. His slanted eyes are often lightly lined in black, the dark color providing a warm contrast to his pale gold eyes. Elaborately circling his arms and hands are a multitude of flower-inspired tattoos, the intricate body art symbolizing the good-natured teen's love and fascination with nature.

His choice of clothing most often consists of light silks and clothes accentuated by golden accessories and other jeweled articles. The pale and soft colors are an almost direct reflection of his personality; that is, the young man bears a calm and quieting demeanor that borders on lazy. His face is prone to half-smiles and half-lidded expressions of serenity, almost as if he mentally retreats to some distant utopia throughout his day. A technical pacifist, he's a very empathic individual, often to the point that he'll ignore his own feelings and emotions for another's. Though an often calm, almost serene teenager, Masahiko is known to go into fits of rage when he feels he's been too insulted. And don't talk about his mother.

History
The son of two civilians, neither Masahiko nor his parents ever expected the boy to become a shinobi. In fact, it seemed to be destined that he'd enter a medical profession when he was old enough, as he always seemed to be helping and healing random animals and people he encountered. He never fought the popular opinion; furthermore, he embraced it, throwing himself into his studies with a gusto that rivaled the eagerness of his shinobi peers. It seemed his future was set as a doctor......

Until a single fateful day set a cliche series of events in motion. It was much like any other day in the forest for the nearly-adult Masahiko, who often brought his textbooks to a certain location to study. He was simply walking to a familiar spot in the clearing when he noticed a young Academy student practicing in the middle. Instead of calling out to him, he simply rounded his path, giving the practicing shinobi a wide berth so as to not be horribly maimed beyond recognition. The boy, unaware of Masahiko's presence, entered into a series of Fire Ninjutsu attacks. His inexperience was obvious in his uncoordinated and somehow dramatic movements, and especially in his lack of control. A single spout of red fire flew right towards Masahiko, who knew little about combating or protecting himself from Jutsu of any sort.

Instinctively, he raised his arms to shield himself, the movement fueled by a desperate will to survive. The fight-or-flight response spurred something within him, something he'd never been able to reach yet the shinobi student was just learning about. A thick wall of cherry wood burst from the ground in front of Masahiko, the chakra-enhanced barrier stopping the fiery attack in entirety, yet draining Masahiko into unconsciousness.

While the young shinobi in training lacked absolute control, he still had some amount of skill in conserving chakra as he performed Jutsu.... A skill Masahiko lacked entirely. The one barrier, while impressive in its own right, had drained him to the brink of death. The hospital he volunteered so freely at had admitted him once the young student managed to drag him to help.

It wasn't until two days later that Masahiko woke up, claiming to feel as good as ever, albeit still a bit exhausted. His parents, once so sure of his future, were more nervous around their son than they had ever been. And in truth, Masahiko was just as nervous; despite having little experience dealing with the various Jutsus, he knew the basics, as any person would. He watched, slowly becoming more and more tired, as he forced a tiny cherry blossom tree to bloom within the palm of his hand. It was small enough to be little more than a desktop decoration, but it was Wood Release, a type that many never mastered. The thought brought a smile to his face.

Of course, the 'authorities' (he wasn't sure what to call them) were alerted to this new development near immediately, and before he knew it, he was an Academy Student, to be taught to control and use his newfound abilities to serve the village in any way possible, despite his unease with violence.

Despite disliking violence, Masahiko's adaptive mind was quick to embrace the fact that he wouldn't be a doctor, as he always hoped, and he's since ditched his medical books for Jutsu scrolls and his pens for kunai (though, he's already gathered a few accidental cuts on his hands).

Hayashi
[fontsize="12"]Born within the Fire Country, the Hayashi was a once-populous Clan split into three branches. Fierce samurai claimed a single branch as their own, while powerful shinobi claimed another. The third and smallest was comprised of the strongest of the two previous branches, and they ruled as the Core of the Hayashi. These members, while masters of both discplines, were known for their bond with and use of Kikai: tiny, winged female humanoids.

Note: Hayashi techniques are classified as Non-elemental Ninjutsu.

Kikai Host - Activated Passive
Hayashi are implanted with Kikai after showing an aptitude with the samurai and shinobi arts, to both serve as shelter for the tiny beings and enable to Hayashi to develop a powerful bond to said beings as they feast off their host's chakra. To the average shinobi, the kikai would rapidly deplete their reserves of chakra...but by the time the Hayashi are capable of wielding the Kikai in battle, their own bodies have long since developed the resistance needed to serve as a hive for thousands of small beings. Compared to the difficulty of nesting the Kikai, effects which would normally make chakra control difficult are only a minor nuisance to an Hayashi.

Ranks 1/2/3: Attacks made against the user cannot prevent them from using chakra (such as Chakra Binds) or forcibly dispel their maintained jutsu (such as the disruption secondary effect); however, the user's chakra costs are increased by +50%/40%/30% while under their effects. This passive does not apply against any Genjutsu placed on the user.

---

Parasitic Infestation - Passive
The Hayashi's tolerance for the kikai infesting them cannot be overstated; subjecting others to the same state that they, themselves, are in can give one a whole new respect towards the strength of an Hayashi. The havoc caused by countless tiny beings devouring chakra can prove outright debilitating to even the hardiest of shinobi.

Rank 1: Targets currently effected by the Kikaichū Infiltration and/or Rinkaichū Destruction deal -5% damage (applied after any other damage modifiers).
Rank 2: Targets currently effected by the Kikaichū Infiltration and/or Rinkaichū Destruction deal -10% damage (applied after any other damage modifiers).
Rank 3: Targets currently effected by the Kikaichū Infiltration and/or Rinkaichū Destruction deal -15% damage (applied after any other damage modifiers).

---

Venomous Payload - Passive
The Kikai are well known for their deadly chakra consuming capabilities, but the lethal venom that their bite can carry is often overlooked in favor of the less mundane portions of their biology. Hayashi particularly in tune with their Kikai can force their swarms to develop new types of venom which can replicate the effects of human-made poisons.

Rank 1: The user has a 'Kikai Poison Slot'. There is a full round of cooldown once the poison assigned to this slot has been used.
Rank 2: The user has a 'Kikai Poison Slot'. The poison assigned to this slot may be used once per round.
Rank 3: The user has two 'Kikai Poison Slots'. Each may be used once per round.

Note:
- Kikai Poison slots cannot be used on their own; they can only be used through certain Hayashi techniques, and the mechanics will be stated in those jutsu.
- Poisons filled in this poison slot must be stated in the user's Dojo. Cannot choose the same poison twice.
- Poisons placed in these slots have a single usage that replenishes in accordance with the rank's cooldown.
- The kikai's nature rapidly change. If any target acquires an 'immunity' (Such as through System Shock or Poison Resistance) to a Kikai poison, the immunity is only valid against the Kikai poison for two full rounds. After that point, these poisons may affect the target again.

---

Swarm Master - Passive
Kikai grow best when cultivated within the nurturing environment of a loving Hayashi host. But with a command, the Hayashi may send their swarms into a reproductive frenzy that rapidly multiplies their numbers outside their body, so long a suitable source of chakra is nearby. Kikai that are born through this method die just as rapidly however, and are unable to reproduce; no small mercy to keeping their numbers in check.

Ranks 1/2/3: When the Hayashi hits a 'target' during a round, if it is destroyed that same round, the Hayashi gains 1 Kikai Swarm. Up to 1/2/3 swarms created by this skill may be active simultaneously, with newer swarms replacing the oldest.

Note:
- See the Kikai Swarm jutsu below.
- This passive applies toward anything that may be destroyed; such as a barrier, a clone, a creation, traps, or even a PC brought to -100% Max HP. This does not apply to illusionary targets created by Genjutsu.

---

Kikai Infiltration - D-Rank Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
The Kikaichū are the first and simplest of the kikai types for a Hayashi to gain control over, and make up the majority of their inner hive. The primary usage of the Kikaichū is to silently place them on their victim, where they will silently drain the victim's chakra until called out by the Hayashi, bursting out of the poor foe's body.

Rank 1: Attempts to place Kikaichū onto the target. Kikaichu prevent the target from recovering CP, and deal (100 + 3% of the target's maximum Chakra) Chakra damage upon hit and at the start of each round thereafter.
Rank 2: Attempts to place Kikaichū onto the target. Kikaichu prevent the target from recovering CP, and deal (150 + 3% of the target's maximum Chakra) Chakra damage upon hit and at the start of each round thereafter.
Rank 3: Attempts to place Kikaichū onto the target. Kikaichu prevent the target from recovering CP, and deal (200 + 3% of the target's maximum Chakra) Chakra damage upon hit and at the start of each round thereafter.

Special Action - Recall: For 1 AP, the user may reflexively call the Kikaichū within a single target, ending this jutsu on said target but also gaining a 'Kikai Swarm' for each round it had been active upon the target.

Cost: 1.5 AP, 300 CP.

Note:
- Flat CP damage dealt by this Jutsu receives NE damage bonuses. A target may only take damage from this jutsu once per round.
- A full hit is treated as a hidden action, while a partial hit still places Kikai, but the victim is aware. The special action is not treated as a Hidden Actions.
- If the initial attack hits, there is no maintain check for this jutsu; the Kikaichū linger until dispelled or recalled. Kikaichū are not considered a type of poison, however, anything that dispels poisons is capable of removing them.

Kikai Swarm - D-Rank Non-elemental Ninjutsu
The fundamental skill of the Hayashi involves utilizing the kikai being within them as tool in battle, releasing them in a swarm that hungers for the chakra of others. Many Hayashi are able to have their swarms create a perfect copy of themselves, manipulating them just as they can a normal swarm. However, these clones are composed of tiny being, so they cannot take contact before dispersing into the air until further notice from the Hayashi.

Rank 1: Creates a single 'Kikai Swarm'.
Rank 2: Creates up to 2 'Kikai Swarms'.
Rank 3: May use the special action.

Special Action - Kikai Clone: Upon the creation of any Kikai Swarm (whether through this jutsu or another source in the bloodline), the user may choose to have the swarm be a Clone. Each Kikai clone costs 160 Cp each round maintained. This special action does not count against the user's 'conditional' limit.

Costs:
Rank 1: 1.5 AP and 265 Cp
Rank 2: 1.5 AP and 300 Cp
Rank 3: 1.5 AP and 335 Cp

Notes:
- A Kikai Swarm has HP equal to 8% of the user's Max CP, and -8 of the user's secondaries. A Kikai Swarm may only make a single basic attack per round (using Ninjutsu Accuracy, and dealing CP damage), with their timing being based off the user's AP.
- Recasting this jutsu will remove any existing Kikai Swarm that was created by this jutsu, but not those created by Swarm Master or Kikai Infiltration. Swarms dispelled this way are not able to trigger Poison Dispersion.
- This is not a Creation Jutsu. However, so long as a single swarm is treated as a kikai clone, then this counts towards the user's Clone Jutsu limit.

---

Poison Dispersion - C-Rank Non-elemental Ninjutsu
As they grow and evolve, the Hayashi gains much more control over the evolution of their hive and nothing could exemplify this more than the technique which allows the Hayashi to force their kikai swarms to disperse clouds of poisonous gas. On it's own this would not be particularly remarkable except for the fact that it is not always the same type of poison and indeed Hayashi have been recorded wielding gases which mimicking the effects of poisons which are normally only effective through other means.

Rank 1: Blasts a target with poison gas using Nin Accuracy. On a hit, the victim are inflicted with one of the poisons assigned to the user's Kikai Poison Slot (user's choice).
Rank 2: Blasts up to 2 targets with poison gas using -2 Nin Accuracy. On a hit, victims are inflicted with one of the poisons assigned to the user's Kikai Poison Slot (user's choice).
Rank 3: Blasts up to 2 targets with poison gas using Nin Accuracy. On a hit, victims are inflicted with one of the poisons assigned to the user's Kikai Poison Slot (user's choice).

Special Action - Poison Destruction: Upon the destruction of their Kikai Swarm, the user may trigger Rank 1 Poison Dispersion against the attacker that destroyed the swarm(s). This special action is performed reflexively, and does not cost AP.

Cost: 2 AP, 2% Max CP

Notes:
- If attacking multiple targets, both are subject to the same poison chosen.

---

Rinkaichū Destruction - B-Rank Non-elemental Ninjutsu
The Rinkaichū are an extremely small, nano-sized subspecies of kikai easily ignored, but no less dangerous. These lethal beings act akin to a virus, and rapidly spread and multiply as they devour organic matter on a cellular level. If left to their own devices, they are more than capable of reducing their victims to bone.

Rank1 1/2/3: Attempts to place the Rinkaichū on a target at +2 Nin Accuracy. Rinkaichu raise the called shot level a limb by 1 upon initial infection (the user selects which limb is affected upon casting), with an additional level at the start of every two rounds thereafter. A target may only be affected by 1/2/3 Rinkaichū stacks at a time, and loses 560/630/700 HP each round, per Rinkaichū stack affecting them.

Special Action - Rinkaichū Jacket: User may instead maintain Rinkaichū Destruction as a Chakra Armor for 2 full rounds. Melee contact (attacks using melee accuracy against and by the user) make an Ninjutsu check; victims failing this check are inflicted with a single Rinkaichū stack. Up to 2 Rinkaichū stacks may be placed on any individual target each round Rinkaichū Jacket is active, and Rinkaichū placed this way are assigned to a random called shot limb.

Cost: 2 AP and 820 Chakra.

Notes:
- Both HP and CP damage dealt by this Jutsu receives NE damage bonuses. Damage is deal upon hit, and at the start of each round thereafter.
- A full hit is treated as a hidden action, while a partial hit still places the Rinkaichū, but the victim is aware.
- If the initial attack hits, there is no maintain check for this jutsu; the Rinkaichū linger until dispelled or recalled. Rinkaichū are not considered a type of poison, however, anything that dispels poisons is capable of removing them.
- The user chooses which limb this attack affects upon casting (if not specified, it is random). This Jutsu does not receive standard Accuracy penalties normally associated with called shots. Once a limb reaches 'Fractured' (or 'Broken' if the Hayashi has the Called Shot ability), the Rinkaichū affecting said limb move to a different limb (chosen at random). This Jutsu cannot raise the level of Called Shot: Weapon.

---

Queen's Pheromone - B-Rank Non-elemental Ninjutsu
While all Kikai sent our are female in nature, male Kikai do exist within the Hayashi and serve a unique function. If released, they can release a special pheromone that Hayashi and their beings are able to track down with relative ease, allowing them to locate and discern movements on their target once the male kikai is in place.

Rank 1: Attempts to place a King Kikai on a target using Nin Accuracy. While active, grants the user +2 Awareness towards this target and all Hayashi techniques that partially hit this target are treated as a full hit.
Rank 2: Attempts to place a King Kikai on a target using Nin Accuracy. While active, grants the user +3 Awareness towards this target and all Hayashi techniques that partially hit this target are treated as a full hit.
Rank 3: Attempts to place a King Kikai on a target using Nin Accuracy. While active, grants the user +3 Awareness towards this target and all Hayashi techniques that initially partially hit this target are treated as a full hit, while bloodline attacks that miss this target are given a single reroll.

Cost: 2 AP and 560 Chakra.

Notes:
- If the initial attack hits, there is no maintain check for this jutsu; the King Kikai lingers until dispelled.
- A full hit is treated as a Hidden Action. An Awareness Check is made each round maintained for the target to become aware of the King Kikai. If successful, they may remove the king Kikai for 1.5 AP.

Devouring Insect Tornado - A-Rank Non-elemental Ninjutsu
The final technique of the Hayashi abandons all subtlety, and is relatively simple; overwhelm their opponents with a swarm of creatures encircling them in a tornado of chakra-hungry beings. While not particularly damaging, these creatures constantly drain their victim's chakra, and have the additional effect of shutting down attempts at recovery, both natural and otherwise.

Rank 1: Strikes at 3 targets. A target affected by this jutsu cannot recover HP, and loses 200 CP each second; this jutsu lasts up to 10 seconds (a full round). If an affected target casts a clone, creation, barrier jutsu or summons a contract, then they will automatically be affected by this jutsu as well.
Rank 2: Strikes at 3 targets. A target affected by this jutsu cannot recover HP, and loses 225 CP each second; this jutsu lasts up to 10 seconds (a full round). If an affected target casts a clone, creation, barrier jutsu or summons a contract, then they will automatically be affected by this jutsu as well.
Rank 3: Strikes at 3 targets. A target affected by this jutsu cannot recover HP, and loses 250 CP each second; this jutsu lasts up to 10 seconds (a full round). If an affected target casts a clone, creation, barrier jutsu or summons a contract, then they will automatically be affected by this jutsu as well.

Special action: If the user has any Kikai Swarms active when this Jutsu ends, they may choose to destroy one Kikai Swarm and repay the CP cost to extend its duration for another full round. This may be repeated at the end of each subsequent round, however each time this is used the amount of Kikai Swarms which must be sacrificed is increased by 1. (i.e they must sacrifice 1 swarm to extend it one round, 2 swarms to extend it again after that, 3 the following, and so on). If this action is used, there is a round of cooldown after this jutsu ends, at which point the Kikai Swarm-sacrifice cost resets to 1.

Costs:
Rank 1: 3 AP, 2040 Chakra
Rank 2: 3 AP, 2300 Chakra
Rank 3: 3 AP, 2550 Chakra

Notes:
- May only be used once per round.
- Damage from this jutsu receives NE bonuses[/fontsize]
