Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Walking down the halls of the hospital, Junko held a pencil and large sketch pad. He had scheduled for a meeting with an interesting individual. Ai, one of the individuals said to have some interesting skills with the bow and arrow. Since Junkos training and experience with the rinnegan, he had become even more strong minded. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to maintain the god like power.

Despite not controlling it, He knew he had the potential for the God like power. Walking into the mental division of the hospital, the medical chief of Kinjutsu surgery spoke to a rather huge receptionist chewing on bumble gum.

"He'll be ready for you in a bit. It seems like everyone's interested in this kid."

"I wouldn't be surprised." Junko said with a smirk.

"Yeah, last guy came with quite a few people. Anyways, he's quite an artist, head on back."

"I've heard and thanks." Junko said before heading to the room already set up. Taking a seat, Junko placed the sketch pad and pencil down. While he waited, Junko began to think.

Ai was brought in; he seemed some what dazed at the moment. The orderly who was directing the young and bowed to Junko as he finally got Ai to sit in the chair across from the Medical Chief. "Sorry sir, you've come after one of his rounds of treatment. He'll be a bit woozy for a bit but should improve after time."

Ai looked to Junko with a squint and blinked slowly, almost as if forgetting to open his eyes for a moment. It was quickly accompanied by a shake of his head. "Who... are you?" he asked, trying desperately to regain a hold of his faculties.

Entering the room, was Ai with a medical assistant. It turned out that Ai just received a high medical dosage. "Interesting." Junko thought shaking his head. The strength of the medication would surely take anyone for a loop.

"It's fine." Junko said with a nod. As the medical assistant left the room, Junko simply observed the boy. He was looking into the eyes of a killer. It was historical, a lethal killer perceived as your average crazy patient. Quite a sight to see.

"Who... are you?"

"Well, it's simple. I'm your new doctor." Junko said with a smile. "Tsuyoshi Junko, Medical Chief of Kumogakure." Junko said careful not to overwhelm the boy with information. Due to the medication in his system, if Junko spoke to much or to fast, he probably wouldn't catch it all. "Your file came up, and here I am Ai." Junko said beginning to sketch. It had been sometime, but maybe he still had a little talent in him.

Waiting on Ai to come to his full senses, Junko took his time drawing the first idea that came to mind the best he could. "I'll give you a few moments. Any questions you have, Ask."

His confusion was expected. But Ai found this to be quite confusing indeed.

"My file came up? What does that mean?" he asked.

There wasn't much thought going through Ai's mind at the moment. But he knew that he had never had a doctor before, aside from the people who kept him drugged up for the most part.

"My file came up? What does that mean?"

"Well, you're not a problem patient and some of the medical personnel began to ask questions. They decided to file for a psychologist just to really see where you was mentally." Junko said concentrating on his drawing. He couldn't seem to get the outline how he wanted, so he began erasing. A lot.

"Ugh. I hate when I can't get things how I want it. Anyways, theirs not many individuals with experience in psychology. I believe the medical Sennin does, but she's always busy ya know? With Sennin stuff. Your file, which wasn't much, was presented to me, and here I am." Junko said tapping his chin with the pencil as he focused.

Thinking back, the paperwork he filled out was actually quite aggravating. Hell, most paper work he filled out was aggravating. "From what was said and what was in your file, quite a few people tend to meet with you and ask questions." Junko said shaking his head. "Well, it's your turn. You're asking all the questions." Junko said going back to his illustration.

"Oh." said Ai, assuming that this was a good thing? It was still fuzzy. Thankfully Junko continued to talk, and his talking was what was help grounding Ai. He explained why he was there and also lamented about his drawing.

The young Shima took a groggy moment to lean forward to see what Junko was doing, a drawing of some bird of some kind. Ai fell back into his seat and shook his head. "It's not -- about getting it right. It's about evoking a feeling." groaned Ai. It seemed Junko's method of art was bothering him. But Junko seemed to pay it no mind, and instead continued to speak.

"My turn? You aren't here to ask me anything?" replied Ai, confused once more. "But I don't really have any questions. Uh, when do I get to leave, I guess? "

It seemed he was finally regaining some cognitive ability.

The words seemed to sink in, but Junko decided to keep it in mind and keep trying as he concentrated on the drawing. "What am I feeling?" Junko thought looking at Ai for a brief second. He could've been feeling hate, sadness, happiness, or anything. After all, he was sitting in the same room with the individual that had something to do with his senseis death.

Looking back down, Junko attempted again. This time, he simply doodled, but ripped the page out as the crow looked pretty stupid.

"My turn? You aren't here to ask me anything?"
"But I don't really have any questions. Uh, when do I get to leave, I guess? "

"Good question. Who ever put you in here didn't tell you? Well, you don't have to answer that. Again, it's your turn for the questions." Junko said with a pause. " I'm not sure when you get to leave this place. Maybe after a few meetings with me. Who knows." Junko said with a shrug. "mind showing me what you meant by evoking a feeling in your art? I tried to do it through a crow, but it didn't work for me." Junko said sliding his patient the pad and pencil.

Knowing the crow was the Shima's clan symbol, Junko would surely find it interesting how the child would illustrate it in his own feelings.

Ai quickly shook his head upon Junko's counter question. He was just brought here under the orders of the council; by his own cousin no doubt. That was not something he felt like sharing, but there was no harm in letting Junko know he hadn't been told. After all, with the sudden influx of people coming to see him, Ai guessed shit was going down somehow. But he wasn't going to betray her.

Junko finished speaking and sent the pad and pencil to Ai across the table. As if he hadn't been drugged at all, the boys hands caught them deftly. "A-a crow?" he said, hesitantly. That was a constant in the dreams he had while being put under time and time again. Ai closed his eyes, and his expression immediately turned to distress as a flock of crows circled about; he remembered his dream vividly. After a somewhat painful length of time, his eyes eventually opened to look at the blank page on the pad. He began to draw.

His focus shifted from a somewhat unaware child, to a master of the pencil. It worked rapidly across the page, forming shapes, shading, and lines. The form a crow was quickly becoming obvious, but it was nothing like Junko's.

This creature was flying towards the viewer, it's wings wide across the page, talons outstretched in front of it to pluck their eyes out if they let it get to close. Around it's beak, chains formed to restrict it's head movement. And finally, in it's wings were flecks of white mixed in with the black shading. Ai took a deep breath and put the pad and pencil down, pushing back across the table.

His eyes had taken on a different look now. Ai looked at Junko as a rabid dog, waiting for the slightest mistake in his movement, ready to pounce and take advantage. Though, his body seemed to remain passive and calm. Junko had brought back memories that he had been trying to suppress for a long time.

The boy had tremendous skills with the pencil. Each line, shade, and stroke of the pencil seemed to unravel the child's story. He seemed to be a professional at what he did. To Junko, art wasn't only emotion, it told who an individual truly was and by the look in Ai's eyes, he definetly was no longer your average crow.

Taking mental notes while being aware of Ai, Junko analyzed the outstanding drawing. "He's been chained and miss treated. Put to the test dozens of times. Probably killing dozens of people. Why has he been chained? Well, with the boys skills and power, people probably feared him. So, they decided to control him, careful aligning the boys future." Junko thought forming a few hypothesis.

"Tradition, Honor, and Grace" was the Shimas clan motto, but the story of this boy seemed to be just the opposite. Was his actions really honorable? Was it tradition to places mental chains on a child? Was killing an act of grace?

"You have talent. More talent then me that's for sure in the art of drawing." Junko said with a smile and nod. "You remind me of me a bit, but we have differences." Junko said shaking his head. "Hey, everyone has differences though." Folding his arms, Junko realized Ai had been broken and something dormant in him was waiting to be unleashed, vengeance on the people that put him here maybe? Or maybe the individual(s) that placed chains on him. It was up to the chief to fix him. Sure, it would be a task, but that was a part of the job. It would take time, and wouldn't happen over night.

"If you'd like, we can get to know each other more. For instance, telling me things you like and things you dislike or hate." Junko said with a pause. "More time with me means less time you have with the other medics." Junko said probably already knowing the boys response. After all, what child would want to be babied and drugged up all day.

Ai watched him look at the drawing with that look doctor's often had. He was trying to piece together the puzzle of symptoms to try and figure out the cause, but in this case, it was a boys scarred mind he was trying to put together. This gave Ai a bit of a prideful feeling. Someone was actually appreciating his drawing, rather than just telling him it looked nice before throwing it away.

Junko smiled, thus melting that malicious gaze that Ai held. He spoke as a friend, rather than a person who was there to goad him along to whatever next activity there was, or the next dose of medicine. It had been a long time since anyone like that came to visit, in fact, it was the first time ever. He wondered why she had never come to visit...

Ai shrugged. "Mmmm okay, well..." he said, taking some time to think. No one had really asked him anything like that. "Drawing is fun I like that, I just wish I had more to use than what they have here. I don't really like the rooms or the people here, most of them are like super weird! I miss food most of all. I really liked food! But the stuff we eat here is like... I don't know, some shitty oatmeal or something. Oh! I realllly like hunting people, it's my favorite. But I really don't like it when they don't die right away. The sounds they make really hurts my ears if they don't shut up right away..."

laughing a bit, Junko surprisingly Nodded in agreement. "I've tasted the food here, been in the rooms, and seen some of the people. So, I know how you feel." Junko said with a pause. "As for hunting people, I haven't done that for quite sometime. The adrenaline rush was something else back then." Junko said reminiscing.

The child's response was an interesting one indeed, something Junko didn't expect, but the child was a Shinobi after all. "Killing was a privilege or game to this child huh? Maybe a fun way to prove himself or a way to make good of the bad times. Interesting." Junko thought as he continued the conversation. "When's the last time you killed? If you want, we can exchange stories. I don't get the privilege of talking about it that much. Believe it or not, Some people don't like the discussion." Junko said awaiting for the child's response. If he wanted, Junko could go first.

Ai nodded his head affirmatively, though he didn't often think of it as just a chemical reaction that gave him the rush. No it was the challenge that people presented and overcoming that challenge that gave him his jollies.

"Yes let's! The last time I hunted... oh I can't even remember to be honest. Used to hunt down bad guys in the forests around Kumo all the time. Or at least I think they were bad guys... not sure. Eventually it wasn't just one person at a time. I'd be sent in to take care of merc groups or stuff like that! Those were the days, back before..." he paused. "This." he said, gesturing with his hands all around him.

"What about you? I didn't think anyone else like me was out there-- When was the last time you hunted?"

"This."

Looking at Ai, Junko once again calculated the boys words. "He didn't know if they were bad guys or not. He was definitely a pawn in a game of chess. But with his power, he could very well have been a knight. Or a queen protecting the king." Junko thought as he nodded.

"What about you? I didn't think anyone else like me was out there-- When was the last time you hunted?"

"Last time. Well, let's see." Junko said thinking a bit. "I was in a squad of 3 or 4. Their was these group of men kidnapping children younger then you. Things had to be put to a stop, so we slaughtered majority of the men. It was so many bodies." Junko said shaking his head. "Justice had to be served in the end. We had to make those people disappear."

"If we wouldn't have, those individuals would've continued to torment the village. Judging from your story, you've made quite a few disappear. From what you've said though, you hunted based on orders. What gets me is... You're in "this"." Junko said referring to his predicament as he looked around the room.

" I would think that you would've been properly recognized and received the proper attention for your actions by the person that gave you the orders right? If not, why not find a new individual to give you orders so that they could appreciate your fun hunting capabilities." Junko said with a smile. Perhaps the young child needed the right guidance more than anything. "As Shinobi, we protect the people that gives us our orders, but why should we if the individual(s) doesn't properly support or be their for us?" Junko said with another pause.

"No ones here for you. You've been here quite sometime, and judging from your enthusiasm, I'm probably the best visit you've had. What I'm saying is, be a leader and if you must follow, follow someone who'll come visit. " Junko said calmly as he awaited the child's response. He knew Ai would understand despite his age. After all, the boy was classified as a chuunin and the medication seemed to fade awhile ago. Junko didn't talk to scold the child or strike a nerve, but to get him to think out side the box. Perhaps he'd find a new route in life.

Ai listened with peaked interest to Junko regale his tale of hunting. Though, it wasn't quite what Ai had in mind, he closed his eyes and put himself in the situation Junko described. Shivers ran across his body as he imagined the sheer amount of bloodshed. The young man cared not for justice, but the rush of the kill ; making people disappear was something he could relate with, thankfully.

Junko then shifted his words to focus more on Ai. The young Shima nodded his head at Junko's assumption, but became somewhat confused as he continued. Thankfully the chief would explain his point for the young man.

His words seemed two faced. With each statement, there was a fact given, and a counter argument afterwards. It boiled down to something pretty simple for Ai to understand. If the person who holds the leash doesn't treat you properly, why do you keep following them?

Ai assumed he knew what the man was saying, but had to question whether or not this was a good idea. "Well... they did send someone to visit me once. Told me they were going to find some way to get me out of here. But then she said it was like ten times harder to escape from here than from the underprison..." Ai replied with a solemn look down at the table. They weren't the type of people you crossed. Ai's expression turned from grim to happy. It had been along time since his tell-tale smile had shined on his face.

"You sure have been nice, sir Junko sir. I just-- I feel-- Yes, you have been the best, for sure! Maybe, if you can get me out of here I can hunt for you? If you ever need anyone killed, that is, is that what you are saying? After all, I wasn't good enough for her-- I'm not much good doing anything else."

As expected, the boy understood Junko and the point he was trying to make.

"Well... they did send someone to visit me once. Told me they were going to find some way to get me out of here. But then she said it was like ten times harder to escape from here than from the underprison..."

"Ah, I see." Junko said with a nod. "A prison break huh? That would've presented a problem if executed correctly." Junko thought as Ai continued.

"Well, following me would be quite different Ai. You'd hunt to protect me, yourself, and the rest of the family. I'd hunt to protect you, me, and the rest of the family. Simple enough?" Junko said grabbing the sketch pad and pencil. As Ai advised earlier, Junko evoked his emotions into the work. The years of struggling alone, the bonds he created, and the love he now shared was now put into a single symbol. In a matter of moments, the chief was finished. With a smirk, he revealed the Tsuyoshi symbol of the white tiger.

"Once again, I said family. It's the thing people like me consider precious. So, want to follow me and my family or just me overall? Well, I must know that you won't cross my family and return to her that got you in "this". Junko said with a pause. "You truly done with her and you'd truly betray her? You truly want your freedom? Prove it. Tell me the truth of "this". Start to finish and I'll get you away out here today." Junko said in a calm manner. "Give me the truth and don't worry about anything else, I'll protect you as a leader. A true leader, no matter what." Junko said speaking more like a father figure more then anything. In the end, the boy was alone, mistreated by the Shima clan, and needed a new purpose. Depending on his next words, Junko would fix the broken child. No matter what.

Ai's brow furrowed quickly as he spoke. He had never really hunted for an ideal such as that. Sure he had been given targets, but the true reason he killed people was because it was fun. Anyone really could have come up to him and gave him a job and he would have done it.

But things were different. He was trapped in this place with no outlet for his violent tendency. The only thing that had provided some kind of help was the art that he dabbled in. Now Junko was offering him a way out that had some chains attached to it. One set of restrictions were paid in exchange for another. "Simple enough?"

Ai weighed the pros and cons.

He continued to speak, making it clear that he didn't want Ai returning to her. The one who got him into this. Ai's expression turned to worry for a moment, his blue eyes drilling against Junko's impenetrable gaze. His lips formed an O for a split second and he looked away. He was speaking of Haruka. He wanted to know the truth!

Ai's eyes began to move rapidly from side to side. The only reason he strove to do any work for the village had been her. If she hadn't been there to motivate him, he'd likely have been put in the underprison a long long time ago.

This was too much for him. The prospect of escape. The price of it being to betray her, the only one who he ever actually had any resemblance of affection for. He began to shutdown; he began to turn inward. "I-I. I'm tired. I can't do this right now. I'm s-sorry." he stuttered, quickly standing up and backing away from the table. A watchful orderly quickly stopped him from backing into any furniture. "I think we are done here. I'm taking him back to his room."

Ai's weary expression looked to Junko, his eyes beheld pain. His knuckles were white from clenching his hands into fists so hard. This place had definitely took it's toll on the poor boy.

The boy began to seem overwhelmed at Junkos proposal. It was understandable though. After all, once Ai began to follow Junko his life wouldn't be the same.

"I-I. I'm tired. I can't do this right now. I'm s-sorry."

"I understand Ai. It's okay. If you need me, tell someone to contact me. We'll meet again, you've done well today." Junko said as the boy made his exit. "Just as I thought. It'll take time." Junko thought as he stood. "Quite some progress though." Junko said picking up the sketch pad to observe his drawing along with Ai's.

"Yoshi, I won't be needing the ANBU Sennin for the boy. If he ever cooperates, he'll be a splendid Shinobi for that branch along with you, and also a great asset to the clan. Rather he bears the Tsuyoshi name or not. His loyalty is the question though. Anyways, carry on with your business." Junko whispered into his mic.

Leaving the room and the mental institution, Junko gave his good-byes.
