Physical Description
Rytuo is a touch smaller than most boys his age. Not so much as to draw undue attention to the matter, but enough to make him aware of the fact. In his adolescence he had let his hair grow long, his parents unwilling to part with his fiery red mane. Only recently when reaching his pre-teen era did Ryuto opt into the short style he now wears. This was most possibly due to his hesitance to stand out amongst his peers. His eyes doing more than enough of that on their own, bearing a mutation found in his mother's family casting them in a deep yellow hue.
Coming from a modest family Ryuto has never worn overtly fancy clothing. He typically dons the same garb most others of his station wear on a day to day basis. He is, however, an avid believer in the benefit of cleanliness. Hygiene and other forms of physical upkeep are important to him. His clothes, while not expensive, are almost always properly ironed and starched. This particular quirk is a fairly prevalent one for Ryuto unfortunately, causing him to fret when encountering filth. Even going so far as to dispose of entire outfits if he believes them irreparably dirtied.
Mental Description
Ryuto boasts a fairly cool temperament. He is not an overly anxious nor excitable child. In studies or the practice of things his normal mode of conduct is a concise maneuvering of the directions he is given. He tends to follow and put faith in the exacts, never veering from the most trodden path. While this mindset has allotted him good marks by most instructors and allowed him to advance with ease, it has also hindered him. Wholly following orders might be good in the eyes of some but it has heightened Ryuto's ambition. He has an insatiable want to be the best of the best. As long as he continues doing that, Ryuto believes he has done perfectly adequate.
His mindset is most likely caused by his moderate Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Ryuto strives for what is perfection in his eyes. This belief trickling in to not only his studies but his self image as well. Such is the cause of his drastic need for personal cleanliness. While he manages this condition fairly well for someone of his age he has lapsed in the past. This is known to most notably happen when he utterly fails in a task or assignment, especially in front of peers. These lapses are most easily identified by bouts of severe anger or depression. They are, thankfully, rare.
History
Rytuo was born to a young couple. Content with their lot in life, the two lived in bliss for a few years before deciding to have a child to make their family complete. Ryuto of course does not remember his earliest years, but he is told they were often filled with joy. His mother was a herbalist like most in her family before her. She had served as a Shinobi before Ryuto's birth but after which decided to run an apothecary instead. His father had remained a Shinobi performing his duty the only way he knew how. Ryuto was of course proud of his father, but the man was often away. The man became a figure in Ryuto's life that he admired, but knew mostly in passing. This would continue for as long as Ryuto could recall.
At five years of age Ryuto's younger sister was born. Being a brother was something Ryuto had not initially wanted, but soon came to vastly enjoy. He loved his sister deeply and was glad to have a constant friend around the house. Sibling squabbles came and went with the two, but always they were together. Around the age of nine Ryuto's father became a more permanent member of the household. Still disappearing from time to time, he had found himself within the village with a lot more frequency. Ryuto had never previously showed an interest in the Shinobi lifestyle, but would begin to do so in an effort to bond with his father. That plan would initially fail, instead beginning his impromptu training that would continue until he entered the academy.
Ryuto's father had thought it best to prepare his son in his own way instead of sending him off to the academy. Nine was too early to give his son to another. No, he would train him his own way. This time of Ryuto's life was not a happy one. He was pushed to the brink, injured, beaten, broken. Their exercises only stopping when Ryuto was sure he could stand no more. All this was done to prepare him for life in the academy. Imagine the young boy's surprise when he finally did enter, and hellish nightmare he was expecting was nowhere to be seen. Only schooling, Shinobi schooling, but schooling nonetheless.
Thus the journey of a Shinobi began for Ryuto. His destiny, his purpose, his goals, as of yet still unknown. Even to him.
