Given to him on his entrance to the ninja academy, the gloves have been reinforced around the joints so as to (hopefully) protect Hiroshi as he makes his way through the inevitable battles and tribulations that all shinobi face.

Hiroshi looked down at the gloves and smiled to himself, thinking about the day that he had been given them by his father. He had been getting ready for his first day at the ninja academy when he had been presented with a box and, inside it, were the gloves. Even though he had never been a large child or physically strong, the gift of the gloves had led to the young boy practising with them night and day. Through this constant practice, he had gained more and more familiarity with the gloves, which had made his fists one of his strongest weapons.

“Why are you so fascinated by blood and that sort of stuff?”
The question was put to Hiroshi by his father, as he realised that the older man was looming over him from behind and looking down at the book that the silver-haired youth was leafing through. The book, a relatively old tome on more archaic surgical practices, was something that Hiroshi had found at the Academy’s library and had more than taken his fancy. He took a few moments to think about his answer before speaking.
“I don’t know exactly, I just sort of found myself drawn to it. I find it interesting to see the ways in which we used to heal people, and I found as well that with my sand jutsu, I seem to be much more able to make my enemies bleed when I attack them, so I wanted to see why that might be.”
His father gave him an odd look before smiling and patting him on the shoulder.
“Well, that makes sense. Have fun!”

“Again.”
Hiroshi’s hands dropped to his pocket and pulled out his gloves, slipping his hands into the soft insides of his chosen weapon before taking up a ready stance, throwing out a practice punch before turning to look expectantly at the other person. Megu however glanced down at the watch he held and slowly shook his head.
“Nope, you can do it faster. Again.”
Hiroshi sighed and pulled his gloves off before placing them back into his pockets and turning to face his friend once more.
“Go.”
Once more, the same practiced motions, but this time they felt more fluid and faster. The gloves slipped on with ease and the punch that he threw definitely felt like it had come faster than before. His friend whooped out loud and punched the air.
“There it is, nice!”

“Head, neck, heart.”
Hiroshi’s fist flew out swiftly, first striking the head of the practice dummy before following the strike up with a chop to the neck of the dummy and finally a swift jab to where the heart would be if his target weren’t made of wood and very much not alive.
“Arm, hand, weapon.”
Once more the young boy struck out, his fist colliding with the arm, hand and finally the weapon that had been flimsily attached to the dummy.
“Good, finish with the leg and foot.”
Following the instructions, Hiroshi kicked at the leg of the dummy before slamming his foot down onto the foot of the dummy and stepping back and away.
Awww yeah, I have it sorted now.
