Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Ripples of water ran into one another as a flat stone skipped crossed the surface of the river. He counted each time the stone skipped across the river's surface as if he was keeping a mental record. Three. Three times the stone skipped before sinking underneath the water never to be seen again. His eyes narrowed slightly and his gaze was fixed on the spot the stone sank staring at it in a analytic way. He raised his left hand to his face cupping his chin ans continued to stair at that same spot thinking how he can get the stone to go further out.

Skipping a stone across the surface of water seems like a very simple think when a person first hears about it, but actually thinking about it there is a lot of factors to consider for the best results possible. How calm the water is, and the condition of the rock to see if its heavy enough to be immune to breezes, but at the same time smooth and flat so it doesn't break surface tense. However, the most complicated part could how he needs to stand and position himself in front of the water holding the stone in a certain way. He threw the stone just a little bit higher then the last time seeing how his results would fair. Hypnotic waves were created with each skip the stone made disrupting the calm nature of the water's surface and threatening to take his focus away from the stone's progress. The stone made it to the same spot as the one before, but kept going beyond that before sinking under the water.

Seven. Seven times the stone skipped across the water's surface. A small smile formed on his face showing his satisfaction with the results. This wouldn't last long and the smile soon faded reverting backing a blank expression before he let out a sigh lazily. The boy fell backwards towards the ground without putting up any resistance expect for a small grunt when his head hit the ground, but the impact wasn't that painful and spread his limbs across the ground. His vision was filled with the many leafs that hung over head belonging to the tree right behind him. Small amounts of sunlight from the sun that was positioned in the center of the sky leaked through where leafs weren't. He can at least be thankful for the tree protecting him from the blinding light of the sun.

Rakutsu ventured outside of the village into the surrounding forest with the goal to relax a little for a change, but it seems that he was stopping himself for doing just that. The stone skipping was a prime example of this. He kept over thinking everything about it and didn't allow himself to enjoy a fun activity that would amuse a small child. That was one of his biggest problems, he over thinks things. He's never satisfied with the simple approach most of the time and always had to try and think about every small detail to use in his advantage. He did this when reading books about shinobi arts and always asked himself how he can use a move to his advantage in a certain situation. It's not like he had anything better to do other than to train and think.

Rakutsu was still a child all things considered and as such people thought he would be off playing with other children or making the most of his childhood. Those people who think this couldn't be anymore wrong. Rakutsu was the definition of a loner. He doesn't spend time with any of the other children in the orphanage or with anyone for that matter and prefers to keep to himself. This all started because of the poor treatment he received from his mean spirited caretaker. Someone who was put in charge of children with no real parents should be a person who is caring and patient not someone who doesn't want to be bothered and has a very short fuse. The other children weren't great either.

He constantly has to put up with endless taunting and harassment from most of the other kids he lives with. Both of these things make him want to leave the place and never come back, but he can't. He doesn't have money for his own apartment and until he becomes a genin he wouldn't be able to buy one on his own. He was rarely ever in the orphanage because of these things preferring to isolate himself from those problems out in a relaxing setting like this forest. Why spend time around the same people who constantly discourage your goal of becoming a shinobi?

But at the same what would be the point of accomplishing this? Sure, he has the potential to become a capable shinobi for the leaf, but why should he? Shinobi are the men and women that protect their villages with their very life because they love their village, but he doesn't. He doesn't truly care for the village because he doesn't have anything or anyone he cares about in the village. The few people he does know aren't even good people in his eyes. He's not even sure if he can call his parents good people. What caring parents abandons their child leaving them with a woman who doesn't even care for children?

Rakutsu closed his eyes as he picked himself up off the ground exposing himself to more of the sun in the process. After a brief second, he opened them once again looking up at the cloudless blue sky. Maybe he should keep improving his stone tosses?
