Glinting eyes, set shallow within their sockets, watch carefully over the stronghold they've fought for for so long. She stands powerfully among her peers, almost demanding anyone walking by to give her notice or face her wrath. There is something enthralling about her, perhaps it's her attitude or perhaps it's a feeling of indifference. But nonetheless, people tend to brag about knowing her, while trying to hide from her.
Character's Mental Description: Setsuna is a representative of tradition and order, utilizing her understanding of what is right, wrong and socially acceptable to bring the people around her together. Embracing her values of honesty, dedication and dignity, Setsuna is valued for their clear advice and guidance, and they happily lead the way on difficult paths. Believing she has the moral high ground, she struggles with keeping an open mind and accepting those who disagree with her vision. This often leads to her being judgmental of those people, and mistreating them because of that.
Character History: Setsuna was raised in the Ishikawa compound as one of their own since she was six years old. It was a happy and joyful childhood, with very few dark times aside form the early homesickness after moving to Kumogakure. Hardly any emphasis was put on preparing her as a kunoichi even though is was inevitable that she would one day join the ranks of Kumogakure. However, once she knew that she was going to take that step, the patriarch of the clan took it upon himself to train both her and her sibling. His training focused on breaking any bad habits he could find so they could be one step ahead of their peers when that fateful day would come.
Time in the academy was a challenge for Setsuna. Half of the other students seemed to all have some sort of idea of what they were doing. For example, one kid's family had been medics his whole life so he'd just follow tradition; or one girls mother was an expert in wind jutsu and would follow suit as soon as possible. Setsuna didn't have many role models, at least, none that she drew inspiration from. Kio-papa tended towards elements of the earth and his strange philosophies, but she had always thought it all somewhat silly. Auntie Kotaza had her shadows but those were a clan secret, something she wasn't privy to. Setsuna was left with too many options and not the drive to pick a specialty; that just left being a jack of all trades.
Graduation came and went. She was an exceptional shinobi, and was adaptable to most situations; unfortunately, when someone special was needed, she was never contacted. This forced her to try harder and harder to be better and better. Despite all her efforts, she was just never special. Not like the others with their bloodlines or talents. She would be stronger than the rest out of sheer will. And she became strong. Not in the way she planned, however. Setsuna became strong of mind and character, a woman's who disinterest in specialization led her down other paths of knowledge. Things such as battle strategy, the economy, and even philosophy. She was free to explore other facets of being a citizen and soldier of Kumogakure that most shinobi -- no -- kunoichi would never even fathom delving into. This is where she shined and it was quickly exploited. Diplomatic missions quickly became some of her most frequently assigned mission type. She finally had a niche and she was happy with it.
Soon she ascended to the rank of chunnin alongside her sister, unbeknownst of what storm would soon blow into her life and turn it upside down.
