Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Manzo walked through the woods. It had been to long since he had been on the hunt. His prey was the organization that his cousin was in. He wondered how far up the food chain his cousin was. While this was a personal vendetta against him, the entire organization needed to go away. They were a criminal organization that had for too long slipped under the radar of the ANBU. He had no idea how this was possible considering what they were doing but that did not interest Manzo. He refused to look back at the mistakes that were made. He was only interested in looking forward. He wanted to protect those that couldn’t be protected themselves and stop this evil enterprise from maiming the innocent for their own profits.

He had been working on dismantling them for a while, keeping his sights on the man that had caused Manzo to disown his own clan. The shame of it was simply to great to keep being associated with them. To aid him with that he had been working on developing a network of informants. He used lesser criminals to find the bigger ones. The very idea of it left a bad taste in Manzo’s mouth but he knew that he would get nowhere without them. Which is why he was walking through the forest today. One of his informants had given him a lead on a small hide away that seemed to have a steady supply of people go in, but they never seemed to go out. He wasn’t sure if this lead was something that might help him lead him to his quarry but it needed to be investigated either way.

As he approached the coordinates he had been given he saw a couple of huddled figures enter a small shack.

”A shack in the middle of the wood, no this doesn't seem to be strange and out of place at all.“ Manzo muttered under his breath.

Stealthy he moved up to the shack. He was amazed at how well he could move his bulk through the woods. He still felt like he was moving at a glacier's pace. But that was to be expected when you moved with the speed of the gods before and now at the speed of mere mortals.

As he approached the house stopped to listen for sound of people inside, he had just seen someone go in so he expected to hear something but strangely there was no noise coming from inside. The building was barely big enough to hold a single person, there were no windows. Which forced Manzo to creep forward and slowly open the door, just enough to peak in. At this point Manzo was simply trying to collect intelligence and did not want to commit to a fight.

As he looked in he did indeed see the insides of the small shack. But strangely there was no on inside. It was not large enough to hide anyone and he was confident that he saw someone enter but not leave.

Feeling emboldened he opened the door and walked in. Careful to walk softly despite having the extra bulk he was only now getting used to. Looking around he saw nothing that could hide a person. Since that person did not leave and they were not here, Manzo rationalized that there must be a trap door someplace.

Armed with this line of thinking it did not take him long to find the trap door in the foor. Opening it revealed a staircase leading down. Deciding to investigate further, Manzo descended into the cold dark cavern below the shack. It wasn’t long before he could hear sounds. It sounded like a single person was talking, and possible working but it was not enough for Manzo to make out what they were saying.

As he reached the bottom of the stairs he could finally see what he was searching for. It was a laboratory of sorts with a young teenage laying on the table. Standing with its back to Manzo was being, Manzo could not determine if they were male or female or if they were even human.

”You have come pretty far off the beaten path. You must be pretty lost” The being said all of a sudden finally speaking loud enough for Manzo to hear.

As it turned around Manzo was able to see who he was about to deal with. The face was what looked to be a patchwork of different people. All different skin tones were sewn together. The rest of the body was seemed to be hidden under a cloak.

”Wait a second are you the punk Tarantsu that turned down our offer to join us? Have you decided to reconsider?”

”What have you got going on here?“ Manzo asked in return, not bothering to answer this patchworks question. He had turned his back on his clan and was glad of it. The more he found about them the more he thought they were monsters. He doubted that this exchange would change his mind very much.

”Oh this? Patchwork pointed back to teenager on the table. ”This is just one of my latest test subjects. I will of course harvest the necessary organs for our business but that doesn't mean I don’t get to use this as a chance to test some of my theories. This is after all how medicine progresses.”

The thought of whatever this Patchwork was doing sickened Manzo. He had enough of the dialog anyway, not that there was much of it. When dealing with the Clan dialog was overrated. They needed to be purged from the planet like the virus that they were.

Not wasting a second he launched an attack at Patchwork, expanding his right arm to cover the distance between them. He expected it to connect only to find that Patchworks cloak was shredded from the inside. Thousands of threads came out of his body, puncturing his arm. Though they were needle like, it still hurt like a thousand needles hitting his arm at once.

”It is just as well that you did not join us, we would have to waste so much valuable merchandise to make you worth while, I can’t image it would be worth it.

Even if you are family.”

This space was too confining for Manzo. He did not know if they teenager on the table was still alive or not so he dare not risk going all out and destroying the cavern that they were in. Instead he turned and ran up the stairs and out of the shack.

”DON’T RUN WE ARE JUST STARTING TO HAVE FUN” Patchwork call out to him.

As soon as he left the door he tossed a few kuni with ninja wire and explosive notes attached to nearby trees, creating a hasty trap for Patchwork when he came out of the shack.

Follow him Patchwork did. He came out of the shack without a care in the world, clearly thinking that he had the upper hand in this battle. Only to walk straight into Manzo’s trap. The notes exploded, creating a dust cloud.

When the cloud disappeared, he saw that the threads had created a protective barrier around Patchwork. Manzo did not think the explosives would do much but he did hope that they would do something. At this level of battle simple tricks like that only worked to give a slight edge against the opponents. This did not even do that.

Not wasting any time Manzo started to open his chakra gates, keeping the energies contained within him. Sure he could use it to create an attack in itself but that was a bit slower and this was not a fight for showy moves like that. As he opened the gates he also used his extra bulk to increase his size. It was because of this that he did not mind carrying it around. He had found he could redirect the mass and make himself into a giant.

Before he could launch another attack at Patchwork the threads retracted and he threw a punch, literally throwing it across the field with the threads attached. It was an unexpected move as it hit Manzo. Fortunately for him, it did not seem to have a lot of power behind it because it did not slow him down.

With enough preparations done Manzo went on the offensive, attacking all out as Patchworks strings seemed to deflect a lot of the blows. Blood was coming off his body more freely than he would have liked. It was becoming death by a thousand needles. Using his power of his chakra gates he stopped the flow of blood from leaving his body.

Quickly he called for a clone of himself, using his newly mastered Acid that immediately went suicidal and rained acid all over Patchwork.

”AHHH what have you done?” He yelled at Manzo. Manzo could see that the acid was going to work on some of the threads. Not one for playful banter in the middle of a fight though, Manzo did not respond.

With words.

With more acid, that he most certainly responded with. His hands flashed in a blur as he threw jutsu after jutsu up. He started by creating a chakra armor of acid to persuade Patchwork to stop attacking with his threads as much, then going on the offensive he decided to be a bit nasty, after all this monster was most certainly torturing children in the name of medicine, a little pay back was not unheard of.

Patchwork would feel the his stomach lining start to thin then burst, causing him to start to vomit acid. It was not an attack he could realistically do more than once, after all a person only had one stomach to burst but still it felt good to give this monster some of the pain he inflicted on the innocent of the village.

Realizing that Taijutsu just was not the tool set he needed to deal with Patchwork he proceeded to use gravity jutsu to incase him in dirt, preventing him from escaping or attacking.

”That was some interesting techniques you had there. I am sure you thought you were invincible from attacks, but there is nothing that in invincible. Everything has its weakness. “ Now that the fight was over, Manzo did not mind talking. Talking during a fight like that one was seemed to be a bit of a waste of energy and concentration. ”You are going to be going to jail now for the crimes against the village.“

Patchwork seemed to be so mad at that moment he seemed unable to produce coherent words. The only thing that seemed to be coming out of his mouth was lots of spittle, cursing and the occasional heave of acidic vomit.

Content that Patchwork, or whatever his name really was, was secure for the moment. Manzo went back into the cavern to see if the teenage on the table was still alive and if he could help.

It made Manzo’s heart drop when he finally got a clear look at what was on the table. The teenage boy was missing his eyes, his chest cavity was opened, looking like an autopsy was being done, except the boy was barely alive.

Quickly Manzo called for medical support, this was going to be more than his meager medical skills could handle and proceeded to give what little aid he could. He tried to push what he was going to do to Patchwork when he got him back to the prison out of his mind for now, but the anger kept seeping through. Manzo vowed to repay every ounce of pain that Patchwork had done to this boy back. That would have to wait until either the medical corps could arrive or the boy finally gave up on life.
