His dark purple hair usually extends down the sides of his face, and he occasionally ties his hair. The clothes he wears is the traditional Yoshihiro Clan light blue robe, complete with dark blue long pants. In his first few years living in the Leaf Village, Ichida was usually seen aloof, and a bit of an introvert, only speaking when spoken to, and not very comfortable with crowds, because he felt that he would stand out, with his big stature. However, since joining the Academy and making friends, he has opened up a lot more, and is now seen being more extroverted and cheerful.

Ichida was born in a time where the samurai were expanding their conquest, and in the midst of it, destroyed an unidentified village on the outskirts of the Leaf Village that was home to the Yoshihiro Clan, in fear that their powerful Kekkei Genkai would pose a great threat to them. Ichida was still 4 years old when he watched his parents get killed right in front of his eyes, which left a heavy emotional scar on him, leaving him to view the world as cold, unfeeling and hopeless in his early years. After Ichida's village was destroyed, the Leaf Village took him in, with the remainder of the village that was destroyed by the samurai as war refugees. Since joining the Leaf Village 6 years ago, a lot has changed with Ichida's life - he has made new friends at the academy, gained a more positive outlook, and turned into a happier person! He has also mostly put his terrifying past behind him, although he is still sometimes reminded of it from time to time.
Ichida now lives together with one of his Clanmates from the Yoshihiro Clan, Juno, whose parents were murdered by the Samurai, leaving only his grandmother, who also lives with them. Both Ichida and Juno are studying in the Leaf Village's Ninja Academy, and they are both said by their Academy teachers to be rare geniuses of their time, who appeared one in every million, due to them having monstrous chakra reserves rivalling that of Tailed Beasts, as well as their natural ability to absorb and use Natural Energy, coupled with their tough physique. However, this may also be because of their Yoshihiro Clan bloodline. The Yoshihiro Clan was rumoured to originate as a Branch Clan of the Senju, and similar to the Senju, they possessed the "body" or the "yang" energy of the Sage of Six Paths, granting them immense vitality and chakra reserves. Aside from this, the Yoshihiro Clan possessed a powerful Kekkei Genkai that was said to only be found in a single member of each generation. This Kekkei Genkai was rumoured to be able to give the user power to go toe-to-toe with the Uchiha and Senju Clans when unlocked, who were touted as the strongest out of all the other Clans. This Kekkei Genkai was also the reason why they were wiped out by the Samurai.
