Character's Physical Description: Built slim and lean, like he'd be training as a ninja, but not so intensive that he'd be someone more taijutsu intensive. He wears mostly dark colors, blacks and greys, is known to wear a nice suit and/or long dress jackets.
Character's Mental Description: One would describe his personality as listless, nihilistic, empty. He cares about things, but you wouldn't know it, or wouldn't expect it due to his outward personality. His motives are almost always hidden, and agendas only come to the forefront when he knows he can execute them properly.

Character History: Engimaru was born to two entrepenuers. His mother owned and operated a puppet and mannequin factory, used to supply not only ninja who would use them as weapons, but for kids and adults who would play or put on shows. His father owned a game company, that made toys ranging from simple spin tops and yo-yos to intense board games, and role playing games such as the best selling 'Ninpocho' RPG books, that blended the world of ninjatry with stats and role playing, it was very popular with the teen crowd! Together, his parents had an empire and he grew up well off, with his only ever real hardship being joining the academy, something every citizen had to do even if they didn't persue a career in ninjutsu.
He excelled at the academy, and was top of his class. This was due to his extreme smarts, as well as private tutors and after school activities. This lead him to get recruited by both the med-nin and ANBU, but he chose the ANBU, as it allowed him anonymity as well as silence. That was, until the Cabal attacked some years later. He was one of the ANBU guarding the school when things were going down, that's where he had been posted. Elsewhere, his parents were trampled in the street by people scrambling for safety when the explosions went off.
When all was said and done, he had inherited the empire. Both companies fell under his command, and he mourned them silently. It appeared to the outside world as though he was cold, didn't care. In reality, he was broken inside, his family had tons of money sure, but they also took time out to be together. They were close, and losing them was devestating. It did give him a new goal in life though. Finding those responsible and making them pay, making Suna pay for being so woefully unprepared. This would require stealth and guile, something he knew Suna lacked in spades. It would be too easy...

Ok, we appreciate your intentions of joining the ANBU Branch, however, before we can accept the rank of ANBU, we would like if you could expand your backstory a bit more.
Maybe you could explain why the our branch would be interested in you? Perhaps extend a bit more your AiT years?

As it stands, your background barely touches the reasons you are an ANBU.

This was due to his extreme smarts, as well as private tutors and after school activities including learning to manipulate the elements, and in the process finding his Nara lineage, minor taijutsu training, and genjutsu awareness training. This lead him to get recruited by both the med-nin and ANBU, but he chose the ANBU, as it allowed him anonymity as well as silence. This was for a few reasons, one being his tactical mind, how he thought in a battle was smooth and decisive. His ability to form and control shadow was an asset the most stealthy of individuals also wanted to both be and have by their side. He was recruited after exiting his exam for gennin unscathed, it being a rather treacherous one, as it usually is. He was exhausted, passed out at the end, but not one scratch on him. So he was an AiT, and began a rigorous training process of learning stealth, seduction, combat. He learned how to use his blood gift to his advantage in a way no paid for tutor ever would have guessed. He learned forbidden arts, he learned not so forbidden arts, and when it was all said and done, when it was time for him to graduate to a bigger role or lose it all completely, he excelled. His recruiter, and trainer, at the time, had molded him into a killing machine and in his final test they needed to see what they had done had stuck. So the test was grueling, more so than his academy exit exam. He was forced to fight some dozen prisoners of varying strengths while his superiors watched, and bet against him. They gave the prisoners weapons and armor, and removed their chakra constraints. It was no hold bars, and Engimaru came out on top in what was a glorious display of not only element manipulation, but person and personal manipulation. Once again, exhausted but not scathed. One might have asked how, was he cheating? Did he have any kind of help? It was all in the minutia of his movements, from dodging skillfully to escape attacks or using his very own shadow to manipulate those around him on a micro level. It had been a sight to see, and not one somebody could repeat to any believable manner. So, he passed and was happy for years serving as an anbu, doing stealth missions and keeping Sunagakure safe. That was, until the Cabal attacked some years later. He was one of the ANBU guarding the school when things were going down, that's where he had been posted. Elsewhere, his parents were trampled in the street by people scrambling for safety when the explosions went off.
