It would begin suddenly, the line humming as power flowed through it. Even the cold would not stop the flow of electricity as the message went down the tubes, through the air, however the cables went that it flowed along. The universal language, morse, would be the message. A simple question meant to have a simple answer, with luck sent directly to a not so simple leader of the village.

Cousin, we have at our gates a person claiming to be from your village, one Li Bububeri. They claim to be a reporter for the Daily Bugle. If possible, require verification as they were found skulking around the entrance to the village. Please respond with all haste, caverns are horrible place to sit and wait.

Isaki Kushin. Isaki Kushin. There is a message for you at the telegraph office. His headset suddenly erupted into life startling him for a moment. A telegraph huh? Had to be his wife's family then. He wondered what they wanted, though was always amused at how they contacted him instead of her. It made sense really, he usually had information, she usually didn't. Well, unless it had to do with clothes. Rolling his eyes he left the office informing the secretary there where he was going.

Arriving at his destination shortly he looked at the small old man with the greying beard and rounded spectacles who worked there. Then behind him and saw a bed... well... someone took their job far too seriously.

Ah yes, you're Isaki Kushin aren't you. Here you are. The man said, Kushin took the piece of paper with the message on it.

So one of the family over there wanted to know about someone Kushin hadn't heard of before.

Calling the tower he asked about the person who was named, holding the conversation around the side of the telegraph building. She was a civilian, some intern at the local paper, no-one very important, no-one very likely to cause issue. She was also from Cloud. So he had the answer he wanted. Now he needed to verify that she wasn't in the village currently.

Ending one call and starting another he spoke with the editor and chief of the newpaper. She was heading to Mist, should be there about now. Kushin thanked the man, and ended that call.

Walking back around to the man he tapped on the window. The man looked at him and then pulled over a piece of paper.

The old man read back the message. Kushin nodded and then let the man get to his work. The tapping sending the message letter by letter, a daunting job for anyone who would have to deal with people who prattle much.
