Character's Mental Description: Keiyaku carries a comportment indictative of his dual-natured upbringing. Within civilisation, he has long since learned to carry a sensible, even meek personality. He holds a sense of caution before strangers but proves to be very amenable and friendly once these barriers break down. When among his canine counterparts, or else among the wilderness, he carries the same fierce pride, hotheadedness and sometimes dangerous pride as do the rest of his clansmen. Partially raised by the ninken among his clan, and partially by his Shinobi parents, these two personality traits have evolved among separate environments.

- Character History = Keiyaku was born in Konohagakure, to the Inuzuka clan on the outskirts of civilsation. An upbringing of both urban mundanity and unruly wilderness. The boy's mother was closely tied to the concept of family, the clan being her life; medically trained, she mainly looked after the canine companions of the clansmen when they came to injury, or else rescuing strays from the wilds. Keiyaku's father had formerly been an ANBU captain, working closely with his faithful partner, Kiiromaru, a large, cream coloured akita dog who carried a certain air of authority in his own right. Keiyaku, himself, was raised just much by Kiiromaru as he was his mother and father, put under the care and tutelage of the old dog whenever the other two weren't around. When the boy's pre-academic physical training began, the relationship between him, his father, and Kiiromaru would become much more tense, both pushing him to ideal physical competence, for such a young age. When he was 8, he was to be fully academically enrolled.
Only a year or so later, a particular litter of pups arrived; Kiiromaru’s mate bore several new young ‘clansmen’; the three of them being quite the handful as a group, but a single one, a crème-coloured Shiba Inu, like his mother, grew close to one of the Inuzuka children. The pup was the spitting image of Keiyaku in terms of personality; meek and mild with a great sense of caution when the situation required such, but a reckless, hotheaded ball of energy among common kin. Kiiromaru named him ‘Morutobu’. Naturally, the two of then would form quite the bond, training together, learning together in the academy, truly seeing one another as brothers sharing the same soul. Of course, less dignified activities were more common; rolling around in the mud and catching rabbits – even Kiiromaru couldn’t help but crack a smile before forcing his face back into the usual haughty expression he usually held. Day by day, an cast-iron bond formed between the two ‘brothers’.
"Never take this bond for granted, Keiyaku. As with I, myself, and Kiiromaru, this bond will save you countless times on the field of battle."
"Wh-What do you mean?" The young shinobi asked, slightly unnerved at his father’s abrupt statement; such comments, however, were not uncommon from the older ninja.
"Your destiny, both of you," the man said, gesturing to the young Shiba, "the fact that you and Morutobu have formed such a close bond demonstrates your worthiness of our blood.”
Keiyaku simply gave a bemused look, looking down beside him at Morutobu the Shiba puppy who was eagerly awaiting instruction from his young master while energetically wagging his tail about.
"We form such tight-knit bonds with our canine allies that we began to act as they do, even look as they do. Those claws and teeth of yours will make for deadly weapons in the real world and that sensitive nose will be a vital tool as they have been for me." Keiyaku, naturally, he inherited the visage of his fellows; fangs in claws in place of frail teeth and nails, even a certain hyperactivity and inability to sit still when the prospect of a hunt in the forest was before him. Keiyaku still had to work to suppress this side of his nature when in company, in other words, when he was expected to sit still and quiet in class.
"Not only do we share traits from our canine allies, but they too share traits and take after us. Our ninken are far more intelligent than the average 'pet' and can intelligently communicate with us without any kind of difficulty." To most, the idea of a dog being just as much of a parental figure as his genuine father might seem strange, even unethical, but for Keiyaku, this was simply the structure of his family. This was even reinforced by the fact that growing up alongside Morutobu felt effortless; communication with him posed no barriers, almost like every bark and growl was instantly translated in his mind, and in turn, Keiyaku’s vocalisations were immediately intelligible to the young pup.
“Treasure your brother, Keiyaku. And you, Morutobu. Without one another, neither of you can hope to succeed…”
Morutobu let out an excited growl, as if trying to bolster Keiyaku’s slightly dampened spirits. He couldn’t help but smile at that; the two were ready to train with Keiyaku’s father, and with Kiiromaru and learn about all of the magnificent things they’d be capable of achieving together.
