Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

That scheming old man!

To an external observer, what was happening here was that a tall girl with pink-ish orange hair, who was walking around tending to her business until a moment ago, had out of a sudden stopped in the middle of the street and started yelling at nothing.
For those who knew her, this was nothing new with Mirei Uchiha, the recently promoted Genin: she had always been prone to walking around with this perfectly mannered, exquisite facade, only to abruptly fly into explosive fits of rage seemingly out of the blue, with no apparent rhyme nor reason.

Go out for groceries, fetch the newspaper, pick up Mizuki at school on your way back: "you need to prove your trustworthiness now that you're a Genin"? Yeah right! You just wanted to push your work on me!

With a deep sigh, the girl tried to calm down. It was clear her father, the target of this outburst of rage, had successfully sweet-talked her into doing his share of the chores: getting angry over it was going to accomplish nothing now, and besides, until she finally got the go-ahead to start taking on quests it wasn't like she had anything better to do all day. Still, she couldn't really help but feel frustrated at the whole situation: was this really all she could do to prove she was worthy of being a Genin?

But still, there was no point in wondering about that right now: still grumbling, Mirei turned around, resumed her walk at a slightly faster pace... And promptly bumped into a person she had failed to notice. So much for situational awareness being a key trait for a shinobi.

Ouch, what the hell? Watch where you're going!

She angrily exclaimed: of course she was the one at fault here, because she was the one who wasn't watching where she was going... But of course, she wasn't going to admit as much anytime soon. Her pride wouldn't allow her to do so.

(OOC note: so yeah, the plan is for this to be a very basic first roleplay, a straightforward idle interaction between Mirei and the person she bumped into. This person can be anyone who feels like coming in and posting, first come first served. Also, feel free to make up any kind of previous connection between your character and mine, like I dunno, maybe she was your underclassman in school, or maybe you know her parents, or maybe you're from the same clan. As long as it makes sense for you to act like you already know her, I'll gladly play along)

Day two as progressing quite well. A walk through the park in the early morning, observing the flowers for an hour or so, then a warm cup of tea and some dango for breakfast in a nearby stall. Those things really were as good as she had heard back over at the country of Tea, though the tea here couldn't really compare at all. She hadn't expected it to, but that was easily remedied, after all she had enough herbs to sort it out for herself, plus the forests here were a true natural treasure hoard.

The rest of the day was much the same, relaxation and sightseeing, a heck of a lot of sightseeing. Truly it was a lovely holiday, away from all the hustle and bustle of the hospital. Life was good. Very good. Though now it was time to get something to eat. There was a place she had heard about, Ichiraku on the main street. This was going to be enjoyable.... until the person in front of her suddenly turned around and walked into to her.

"I'd heard people here were fiery, but I'd say that is not the way to appologise for walking into someone, is it now kiddo?" The kunoichi would smile, remaining in place. This would give Mirei more than enough chance to get a good look at the person she had bumped into. Uka was wearing a pair of brown trousers, brown walking boots, an Iwa headband wrapped around her waist as a belt and a blue blouse. Her blonde hair was brushed back in multiple braids, though the more intriguing thing would be her eyes - one brown and one light-blue, not that common of a sight really. Oh and one little detail - Uka wasn't really the talest one about, standing at just a little over five feet tall.

Mirei was puzzled for a moment: the person in front of her appeared to be a full adult, but wasn't any taller than herself. In fact, the two appeared to be roughly the same height: perhaps for this reason she got childishly cocky, instead of properly apologizing like she was supposed to do.

Uh, and who are you supposed to be? I don't remember seeing you around before.

Without even realizing it, Mirei had just done something amazingly rude: not only had she continued speaking without apologizing, not only had she addressed a stranger improperly, she had also demanded to know the name of an adult without giving her own first. Were her mother to ever learn about this, Mirei would surely be in for the ass whooping of her life.

Uka couldn't help but raise an eyebow. Clearly this girl didn't quite understand what manners meant. At all. Question was - could she be bothered to deal with this. Frankly she didn't really care enough to really do anything, though rude kids did need to be taught a little bit of a lesson. The anbu shouldn't really go after her for a little bit of a prank, so that should be perfectly alright. Poor Hikaru might not hear the end of it, but hey no harm no foul as they say.

"A bit rude, aren't you?" She would half-ask, half-state in a very matte of fact tone, with that light smile still gracing her lips "The random passerby that you just bumped into, kiddo." Uka would add before slowly raising her left hand in front of herself at hest level, hoping the girl follows what she is doing before snapping her fingers with a light exertion of chakra.

If things worked as they should Mirei should hopefully, and unfortunately for the girl, feel a sense of dread, with the herbalist in front of her as the source. It was a rather simple genjutsu that messed with one's head, rather ineffective in combat, but she just felt it might be just about enough here for the little trick she was planning.

After a few moments Uka would snap her fingers once more, purposefully trying to grab the little racals' attention as she does so once more. If everything worked as planned the girl would feel a tap on her left shoulder, with a clone of the medical shinobi appearing behind Mirei.

"Boo!" The clone would go before suddenly disappearing just as it had appeared, the feeling of dread disappearing along with it. Question is how would the prank actually work out?

When the clone appeared and then disappeared, Mirei finally paid full attention to the person she had ran into: between the jutsu she had just used and the headband the girl was only now noticing, it was clear this woman was a shinobi: a foreign shinobi, in fact, at least judging from the symbol on said headband.

The realization hit her like a ton of brick: she had just disrespected a senior shinobi. She had just disrespected a senior foreign shinobi who, for all she knew, could very well be a dignitary of some sort. She had disrespected a senior foreign shinobi on her first day as a Genin: so much for establishing herself as an exemplary kunoichi!
The more she thought about this blunder, the more she felt a suffocating sense of dread take hold of her: unbeknownst to her, the woman's jutsu was fanning that particular flame, making her despair even worse.

I'm sorry!

She finally exclaimed, bowing deeply to the woman

I really don't know what possessed me to behave that way, I was very upset because of my father, and without thinking I... I'm really sorry!

As she raised her head again, tears were flowing down her one good eye, not that she was even aware of it.

Ugh, if my mom ever learns of this, she's going to kill me... And all because I was angry like that! This is all that scheming old man's fault! So please, I'm seriously ashamed of myself here: will you forgive me just this once?

And it was rather clear that her plan worked perfectly. Far, far too perfectly. She had managed to absolutely terrify the poor girl. Well this had horribly backfired, or well it had succeeded far too well.

"It's quite alright. It's just being young, so don't worry about it."

Uka would quickly glance around, trying to find something that could help deal with the situation at hand, anything at all. Within a few moments her gaze fell on a nearby ice cream stand. She would quickly make her way over, grabbing a cone of the chocolate variety and quickly making her way back over just as the girl finished her apology and raised her head. The herbalist would quickly extend the cone over towards Mirei still with that same smile she had kept the entire time.

"Really it's quite alright. I wasn't expecting that little trick to be quite as effective. Sorry for scaring you that much."

Of course I'd be scared, I just caused a big blunder! You don't know how scary my mother is: if she ever learns of what happened here today, she wi- wait a minute...

The full implication of the woman's words keeping in mind that she was a foreign shinobi, was finally starting to dawn on Mirei

... What trick? What are you talking about? What did you do to me?

But before the woman could answer, Mirei vigorously shook her head

You know what? It doesn't matter. What's done is done, and I was rude to you first, so let's just leave it at that. My name is Uchiha Mirei: I don't know how long you plan on remaining in our village nor your business here but, on my part, I'll make sure to not cause you any more trouble in the future!

"Well, you know." She would chuckle, glancing over to her left before focusing back onto the girl. Uka would raise her left hand up to her mouth, mock-coughing into it. "Seeing as how you introduced yourself it's only fair I do the same. I am Uka, the head of toxicology over at the Hope Hospital of Iwagakure." The medic would tap her headbang belf buckle with her right index finger before offering the girl a light shrug and taking a lick from the ice cream Mirei had rather obviously ignored.

"Amplifying an emotion that is already going out of control is easy, especially if you can distract the target enough." Uka would raise her left hand, snapping her fingers much like she had earlier. "From there you just need to apply a little bit of chakra in the right way. Obviously having another point of distraction helps as well." She would tap her lown left shoulder with her left hand.

"Or to put it simply. Genjutsu." She would note, half-expecting the girl to be confused by wht she just said, especially considering her reaction so far. "Nothing permanent and something I've already dispelled, so I really wouldn't worry about it too much. Though I do feel a little bit bad for doing that, so how about I make it up to you? Would you like something to eat from the nearby stalls?"

Mirei took a moment to ponder those words.

Genjutsu... My father is supposed to be this exceptional expert of Genjutsu, but he never teaches me anything. I would love to learn more on the matter, and yes, I would also love to grab something to eat at a stall, have a chat, just chill out. Unfortunately, right now I cannot: I need to go pick up my younger sister at school, and I really can't be late to that.

She ventured a meek smile

However, if Uka-san is going to be in town for a while still, I would love to meet again when we both have more free time. If, uh, if it's not too much of a bother for you, that is: for such an important-sounding foreigner to be in our village, surely you must have some important business to attend!

She was a rather talkative one for sure, but no matter. In a way it was better to be this way rather than far too silent, but one had to really wonder in this profession of theirs. Oh well, there was more than enough time for the girl to develop further as a shinobi, a long, long time.

"In that case don't let me hold you up. Family takes priority. You are fairly likely to find me around the forest of death. I plan to spend a lot of my time gathering herbs there."

Uka would smile lightly, gesturing towards the direction the girl was originally headed towards. If the girl was to look away then the foreign shinobi would quickly slip into the crowd around them and disappear from sight, something fairly easy to accomplish when a vast majority of the people around you were at least one head taller than you. If not then she would briefly incline her head to Mirei before walking off towards a nearby dango stall.
