Character Description:

Physical: Katsu stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall, with long straight black hair and a full beard for facial hair. He wears glasses for his hazel eyes and has straight natural teeth. Facial structure is natural and not abnormal in any way. His body is not level, he is shorter on the left side in every aspect and bares a lot of weight on his shorter side. He is in good shape however, but people wouldn't notice that quality in them because they would see the abnormal amount of scars on his body. He has a scar that runs down his spinal cord from a sword that slashed his back from earlier in his life and a scar on his ear from a childhood fight on a playground. But the most revealing scar is the one that is on his lips, as the scar is from a sword that slashed across the lips. In other words, he has a scar from one side of his upper lip to the opposite side on the bottom lip. Clothing all depends and will be described in the roleplay.

Mental: Overall, Katsu is deemed a "normal" member of society but he does struggle with some disorders: Obsessive–compulsive and bipolar. He isn't exactly the happiest person in the world. He tends to be a pessimistic on various issues and also believes the way to resolve an issue is to fight it out. It doesn't help he also has Xyrophobia(Fear of razors), Taphephobia(Fear of being buried alive or of cemeteries), Phasmophobia(Fear of ghosts), Thanatophobia(Fear of death or dying), Acrophobia(Fear of heights) and Merinthophobia(Fear of being bound or tied up).

So, it was finally time to test himself after nearly a month out of action aside from beating up the group that tried to end his life. That night still haunted him so much as he practically faced death in the face, and survived it with some help from the village particularly ANBU and the medical units at the Hope Clinic. But that cruel memory would have to be put aside today as Katsu had issued a challenging to anyone in the village to test out his skills. Anyone could possibly take his offer from he hoped it wasn't someone who was extremely weak or some highly intelligent because he wanted a fair and honorable fight to remember. So with that he waited at the Grounds for his challenger clad in his typically attire(see above) and rubbing his beard pondering who exactly would appear.

"Please...be someone challenging...but not overpowering to me. I need someone strong like me, but they need to be in error slightly. Yeah, shut up Katsu...you'll be fine. It is just another fight and day, relax."

“...I am darkness.”​

Having just completed a mission, Itsuke reported to his superior and took leave. But the excitement was still flowing in him and he wanted more. It was not like he could go and take another mission right away. It would take time to organize it, so left with little choice, he made way to the Spartan Quarters, his goal the Proving Grounds. A good spar might burn off his desire to... kill, to turn off his 'the one' mentality. The consequence of being taken as a prisoner to the deepest pit of the Hold turned off any desire to take a life. He'll hurt his opponent bad, though. Fear not, the arena always had medic standing by, in case of serious injuries. This allowed two fighters to go all out as they wish, without fearing the possibility of death.

And who shall today be his unfortunate opponent indeed? Donned in his usual garbs of black with his sword of white sheath strapped to his back, he was in front of a man, who too stood waiting for a worthy foe. As he stood glaring at his foe with his lilac eyes, he took in his surroundings. A wide field open for fighting, a fine sunny day. Lightly cloudy, but it was no indicator of rain. Itsuke looked over his opponent, a man with hair and eyes of black. A beard too. That was rare in a shinobi, if this man was one. Scars could be visible, a representation of strength-- or of weakness? Itsuke smirked. His blade will judge.

Itsuke grasped the white hilt of his katana, sensing Byakuya and Yoru were just as excited as he. Brandished, no blade was visible. Was this Guardian of Darkness serious, fighting a man without a blade? One could only wonder what his opponent was thinking about this. There goes this man, dark haired with a white streak grinning as he held a sword with no blade.

It truly didn't take long before the challenger had appeared before him with sword ready to attack. It seemed that Katsu was already at a disadvantage with no weapon displaying before the challenger, but he just simply smiled at the taller, lilac-eyed man as he got ready to do this. These two man both had something to prove in this fight today and one was going to go down either by the blade or by the puppets...but which? Oh the excitement!

Katsu looked at the man and said: "So you are my challenger today? Hmmm...very well. You look ready to fight me as I am ready to fight you. But before we begin this battle, let me introduce myself. My name is Katsuharu Katsu, yours?" He would wait for a response with words or actions depending on how his opponent would go about doing this. But for now, he just stood in place and smirked at the man probably driving him insane from that smirk on his face...Hell it would drive Katsu crazy if someone was just smirking at him. Katsu knew he should be more cautious with a unfamiliar face in the village, but he didn't care. He was ready to prove himself to the world and more importantly himself again!

His opponent was just as eager. Interesting. The man spoke but Itsuke heard nothing except the request to introduce himself. His mind was beginning to focus, to prepare for the moment of his blade connecting with flesh. A man of few words, Itsuke never spoke more then necessary. He figured his first name was good enough, the only information needed.

"Itsuke," He said. Now looking to his katana, he uttered, "Into the shade, Byakuya,"

A blade of blackish-purple began to form, slowly coated with shadowy wisps. Itsuke turned his head up and looked at his opponent. His eyes spoke volume of his readiness.

It was luck that had her spectating a fight between two very powerful Shinobi, though she didn’t know that yet. So there she sat, at a safe distance, to see what kind of skills these Shinobi would reveal.

And after a few more seconds of smirking, both competitors started their arsenals. His opponent had decided to go with his sword which hadn't surprised Katsu one bit as Itsuke was flashing the blade around prior to their fight, and Katsu assumed that he would be using that flashy sword anyways. But no worries were needed as the medic activated his sharigan on his opponent and withdrew his three puppets that he had spent countless hours training with and were more close to him than anyone else in the village including his girlfriend and parents. These little creatures saved him from death multiple times, and this fight would look like another bloody near-death experience. But Itsuke countered with summoning a shade, but Katsu saw right through it and laughed to himself. It was a wise move to try to make the battlefield level, but nothing got by those eyes of the medical Uchiha.

But then the attacks on his opponent missed completely except the one that brought out Itsuke moments after he hid from Katsu. This irritated the Uchiha because he had planned ever so quickly how he was going to attack Itsuke, and it all failed. But, he just sighed and nodded at his opponent. There was no reason to get upset or he would make some idiotic decision which would cost him this match probably. Closing his eyes momentarily, it was time to step up his game and put away the kiddie gloves that were on for the first seconds. Things were going to pick up finally!

Uchiha?

Itsuke had heard of the legendary Uchiha and their Sharingan, but it was his first seeing it. So of course, as soon those cursed eyes appeared, Itsuke became cautious in making sure there were no eye contact yet while focusing entirely on the man. He was a swordsman, eye contact would not be necessary to cut down his foe. Not only that, the man called Katsu somehow withdrew three mean-looking puppets. As a Guardian, Itsuke had seen many things, but puppets? Curious, most curious.

Four on one was not fair, so Itsuke summoned a Shade, a companion that has occasionally aided in several missions of his. He knew the Uchiha probably saw through the move, but he was expecting nothing less. The Shade was merely the first step. One of his opponent's puppets breathed some kind of gas, but Itsuke stepped out of the way long before the gas made contact on the area he was just standing at. He seized the opportunity to wrap himself in darkness and went in hiding wherever the shade was. All he had to do was wait for the right moment to strike. But...

His opponent relented by using a multiple-attacking technique, where one of the strikes hit home. Knocked out of the shadows where he stood in front of Katsu, Itsuke was treated to another gas-based attack, but his honed senses tingled and he remained still. As soon as this gas neared, he disappeared, only to appear behind Katsu in an instant, clearly having struck a vital area as blood spurted. One of his fastest techniques. He doubted Katsu could've followed his movements, even with that legendary Sharingan. "Word of advice, do not blink,"

[Ii Hissori]

What an interesting place to grab a bite to eat! As a trainee and medic, Hissori often worked in the arena in Kirigakure. He would help the people after they lost, by healing them even for emotional supports. Sitting in the front row, Hissori would take out a sandwich and begin to eat it. It was simple thing of turkey, cheese, and lettuce. Buru was of course with them. He too enjoy a good fight, until the lazy Hissori would just enjoyed to watch them.

- Katsu, you didn't have enough AP to finish your actions. Initiative doesn't reduce the cost of your action, it reduces the time cast of your action. Ap/cp cost are paid normally.


- Admin and rules of engagement ruling state you guys HAVE to post and send actions in between each round. The 48 hour rule can be bypassed like this, but not the sending actions or posting in between rounds. Failure to do so again will result in said offender being modded in defensive stance as per rules of engagement and admin.

Poisoned. Tsk. It was hurting him, but he had faced worse and he could feel the poison weakening. Seeing the situation called for it, Itsuke immediately took up the Iaido stance. This way, his sword was sheathed but due to training since youth is able quickly draw and redraw it over and over. Itsuke's mastery in this stance is so great, his opponent could not possibly see the blade. The Iaido's firmness is such that he is easily able to brace himself for an incoming attack and strike at the same time. Katsu would learn the meaning of his words of "Do not blink."

And the Uchiha might have just done that. Blink, that is, as Itsuke cut him once more. More blood gushed forth, not just from Katsu. Not a moment after slashing Katsu, Itsuke coughed out a small amount of blood. Such was the dangers of using the technique he just performed. It was different from his previous attack and Katsu might even notice it, like a small piece of his soul was damaged. If so, good. Because it was.

Taking the opportunity to swing his sword again, it seemed the young Nanjirou had missed. But perhaps it was more a diversion as Itsuke's Shade struck Katsu. Although the Shade moved out of the way of Katsu's next attack, a stream of flame, the range and strength of it ensured no escape. No escape for all, except for Itsuke that is, who disappeared and was now behind Katsu, unable to vanish completely. His lesser twin took the brunt of those flames. Seeing a perfect opening, though, Itsuke swung his sword toward Katsu's head, only to have... missed? The Uchiha was more nimble than he had thought.

Stepping back, he re-thought his strategy a little. While some things did not go his way, it was now time. The darkness hungered for more blood and he'll have to indulge it... just this once. Regardless, the battle was too far along not to let it rampage. He could control it, anyway. Surely.

Moments after the two man had exchanged words with one another they were off to fight each other. It seemed the first moments of the fight were preparing themselves to attack the other. Katsu had activated his bloodline's most unique characteristic being their Sharingan eyes to help him have better vision of the battlefield and brought out his closest allies: Shi, Kibou, and Kiotsuketene to aid him. This would've all been fine and dandy if the Uchiha hadn't lost vision of his opponent as he couldn't distinguish between the two figures and ultimately wasted his chakra trying to harm the wrong figure on the field. However, this failed attack didn't stop him as he transmitted poisonous fumes on the field which hit both figures meaning he had hopefully hit the real Itsuke and not clones. But quickly, one of the figures disappeared which prompted Katsu to use Shi's Thousand Arms Manipulation to draw out the one who went away leaving blood spilling from the figure which he was assuming was the real Itsuke considering the jutsu he had never allowed any blood to be displayed. Hell, most of his jutsu that created clones or anything else dispensed right after they were hit. Katsu followed up with another poison-related attack and hit his mark, but let his guard down and got hit badly and cut open. With these few seconds into the fight, both men were focusing more now: Katsu with Precognition and his Mangekyou Sharingan, Itsuke changed stances into assumingy a clan-style he was living in.

The next array of attacks seemingly left little harm to the men aside from burns and blood. Katsu was wounded more heavily and blood was seeping out even more quickly, but he had missed some of his attacks but managed to conjure up enough chakra to still hit his mark. This fight looked like it was going to end with straight out head-on-head attacks, but Katsu had a plan in place and hoped he would be able to execute. The time wasn't now to use the big bang, but it was approaching quickly if this fight continued the way it was going.

Looking at his opponent, he brought back his three puppets and placed them back where they rightfully belonged. He then looked at Itsuke with a smile on his face and said: "I believe that is enough for today. I appreciate you sparring with me, and next time I know we won't be holding back at all. Good day."

He then waved at his opponent and walked away from the field, it was a shame it had to end so quickly but they both would have to admit they did learn some things from one another and their paths would definitely cross eventually.
