Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Despite the fact that the journey had been relatively short compared to what Saki had been anticipting, he hadn't been anticipating travellening alongside someone else, who ironically made him feel like his trip had been twice as long. Saki wasn't an introverted person: in fact, he was more outgoing than the average person. But there was something about this person, Avaron, that just put him on tilt. Her annoying way of speaking was only aplified by the fact that she didn't know what to shut up. And don't even get me started at hew horrible habit of chewing gum. Gum is good an all, but seriously... spit it out after a while. Saki cringed at the thought of the tooth damage she was causing herself from the sand that kept getting caught in it, that she didn't seem to mind.

Nevertheless, persistence paid off, and soon enough the two had reached what appeared to be the Toraono Dojo. That said, Saki didn't know exactly what he was looking for. Beyond the structures before him appeared to be the signs of a small town forming, or rather, a small village... but sure, that could be the Hidden Sand. Could it? It was puny! It couldn't have been much bigger than the Seki district in Kumogakure.

Regardless of this fact, Saki shuffled through his pack and produced his passport for whomever would no doubt need it, if this were indeed Sunagakure's gates.

"OK, so I was totally getting the new guy. But he was like naw you go first, last time I did they got all murderized. I was like, naw... whenever I do it ends up being this busy thing. He totally said I have a gift and he has his and I was like. yah."

Without the walls to protect the village, the sand between the low-laying buildings was partly covered on one side but it did not appear that anyone was going through any great lengths to sweep away the resting sands. You see the sands shift here regularly due to the abundant arid winds that carry with it a small portion of the desert. The village itself looked like a poorly defended civilian community, somewhat dismal in fact despite being newly constructed. A recent fire had ravaged a large portion of this community, many of the stone and stucco buildings were badly charred. There were people on the streets, ambling down narrow dutsy streets but all of them where of the non-shinobi variety and looked the other way when the strangers were near. Sunagakure has had a harm time these past few years, between an incursion that isolated the village for a few days to a multiple decade long storm that essentially trapped the community underground for longer than most people have been alive. Lives are often violent and short for a shinobi, something that most learn and obviously experience. The addled shinobi is certainly a rare sight and perhaps a tribute to their strength and endurance but here there might only be one that a person could consider geriatric. Even the civilains for the most part rarely survive past middle age, the environs here are unsuitable for the slow or the weak.

There would be two things of note, a white tower that rose only a few stories above the gilded earth. That would be the Kazekage Tower, ironically outside of the hidden village for the moment as they have made slow work of transitioning to the surface over the past year. The second being a father massive fortress with a pair of standards that flapped in the breeze. The Toraono Dojo being a more obvious structure of importance than even the Kazekage Tower, this was where most visitors have been historically drawn as it led to the subterranean village but it has also served for the past few years as an entry point into the community. Avaron woul head towards the door of the Dojo, she was basically familiar with the new village set-up thanks to intelligence relayed by Fuu. Getting to the Kazekage tower was easier than getting underground but neither were particularly hard. She started to walk faster than her travel partner and came to the great pair of doors that graded the Dojo and knocked.

From atop the high structure, a figure would come zig zagging down until landing softly just a few feet from the pair. The individual did not move at considerable speed, at least not for individuals who were skills in the shinobi arts or could move considerably fast themselves. Standing, the figure would be just barely over 5 foot tall, covered in a black cloak, face hidden by a bunny mask and pink hair sloppily spilled out. Without out much of a utterance from herself, the bunny would make her way over to the two before finally sputtering out;

"Passports..."

Was it a question, was it a statement, was it an observation? Who knew. Either way, the male of the duo seemed prepared and already pulled out his official passport. Taking the item, the female would once more show her bedside manner.

"Saki? Usagi... pleasure."

It would be easy to confuse the words, even in their sparseness, as lazy or annoyed. In actually that would not be the case. Usagi's mind was constantly moving, always processing. This higher thought, or at least this more effort to think further and longer than others, brought about a very lazy speech process. Actually, it brought about a very lazy approach to any form of social interaction at all. She would quickly note all the information on the passport to a notepad she had produced, her writing speed being very fast and lengthy in comparison to her speech. She would promptly had the document back to the Kumo traveler before turning her masked attention to the female of the group.

"You...passport..."

"Ah, yes, hello there." Saki gleamed.

Perhaps it was only because this person was ANBU, but Saki welcomed the brevity of speech from the masked figure, probably a girl from her height and her voice's pitch. Who knew? Certainly not Saki, no sirree. That would be metagame, and we can't let anyone do that now can we? Nope. Definitely not. So Saki decided he had no idea on whether or not this particular individual was a boy or a girl, and neither did he judge said individual on whatever gender/sex he/she actually was.Not to say that he or shee had to be a boy or a girl at all! No, he didn't want to discriminate against this person in the case that she was agendered, either! Saki is a tolerant man who has checked his priviledge. It was right where he left it last time he checked.

Ahem.

"I'm here on business from Kumogakure. I met her," Saki began, "A few miles from here, and decided to travel the rest of the way here together."

There was a suble sense of disdain for Avaron and her... enthusiastic way of speaking in Saki's voice. Maybe it could be played off as his throat being dry from the heat. Maybe it didn't matter (It didn't). With a joking smile, Saki asked, "You wouldn't happen to have a water fountain around here, would you?"

Akkuma was busy drinking in the entrance hall of the dojo, when he had nothing to do he usually lurked here or upon the roof waiting for visitors. A wooden pipe hung out of his mouth as he puffed on a mixture of herbs. He sat there boredom getting the better of him when there was a knock. 'Finally something to do...' he thought to himself standing up the sage grabbed one of the many water bottles he had chilling.

Walking towards the door he stopped short of the massive doors hearing muffled voices from outside. With a devilish grin the demon let his aura envelope the hall, those outside would undoubtedly feel the malevolent aura emanating from within. Deciding he would make a grand entrance, as he so often enjoyed doing. Activating his chakra sense to give his eyes an ominous glow, the Crimson orb and its daimond-like counterpart glowed eerily. With a wave of his hand the demon opened up a portal, stepping through it and closing it behind him.

Next came the fun part the demon opened a portal outside the door, the wailing of the damned could be heard as he stepped out of the hellish void. Those glowing orbs gazed upon those around him, as he went to speak he couldn't help but notice a familiar chakra on the male before him. "Greetings would you like some chilled water?" his voice warm and welcoming. Holding out the jug as he gazed down at those around him, after all it was what most travellers desired when they arrived.

The Dark Sages gaze slid to the shadow then over the woman and finally resting on the man before him. "Where are my manners I'm Miroku Akkuma, Head of the Miroku Clan." with a bow he made his introduction. "Excuse my interruption but I heard knocking and thought I would see who the visitors were." his words were warm as he spoke to the group, yet his ominous gaze never left that of the man who carried something of great significance to the demon.

Taking in a lungful of the smokey mixture he would exhale slowly, the smoke swirling around him adding to his unique appearance. Towering over the others at 7'4ft and weighing in at a massive 184kgs. Two large horns protruded from his forehead, those claw-like hands of his were massive. Behind the demon his muscular tail flicked with excitement. The Dark Sage was a being of pure muscle, an intimidating specimen. He wore his ancient Toraono battle armour, over the Toraono sigil the Miroku Clans sigil had been branded over it (a lotus blossom with the kanji for cursed on its petals). Runic glyphs covered the beings body, seals could be seen trailing down his neck and up his wrists. The footwear he wore was a pair of wooden Geta, Akkuma looked like some warlord brought to life from an Old Eldritch tale.

She never shut up.

So I know this girl, she is a little prettier than you. That like bookish thing you got with the Plain Jane junk. Yah, so anyways, she would always talk - and - talk - and - talk... It was so like annoying n'some junk. So you know what I said to her?

She snapped her gum loudly as the door was opened by a bunny. Her attention left her unfortunate victim as she announced with utter glee, Hai Bunny! Avaron greeted the ANBU lass enthusiastically, with a smile and what could be construed as an aggressive hug. Why 'lass' rather than 'lad'? - the pink hair, duh. Boys do not own or wear pink. Pink was a girly color and it was by that bias alone she came to that conclusion. It was far from logical, but she was also not the brains of the operation even if she was a lot less dumb than she seemed, her skill set was more in line with theft. If she was successful or not [in terms of the hug] it would matter little to the Sovereign as she returned to her oh so annoying facade. I totally love bunnies too! It so sucks that bunnies are on the bottom of the food chain, Ten pouted as she took a step towards the door but did not traverse the threshold because a demand was made.

"Passports..."

Bunny-bu imposed . The traveler already had his passport out and there was a near mechanical exchange.

"Saki? Usagi... pleasure."

"I'm here on business from Kumogakure. I met her... A few miles from here, and decided to travel the rest of the way here together."<i></i>

The stick in the mud explained how they met, a real romantical story. The time of his life was that hour of travel, the glower and the dull tone just a tell for how sad he was that they would part ways. Yeah -- she knew, bullshit. It was easy to make friends, harder to make someone tolerate you for a short time. She preferred the later, to be that obnoxious dolt nobody could stand. You would be remembered most certainly but you would not be feared. The paranoia most shinobis harbor would be ignored. Friendship was the product of a simple manipulation, the creation of a barely tolerable persona was a bit riskier.

"You...passport..."

The masked girl remained on task as she made a dispassionate request rather than engage in small talk. No fun either of them. With a sigh and a pop of a rather large gritty bubble Avaron pulled out a basic scroll, it was plain and was marked with a bit of yellow wax embossed with the symbol of Tea Country fully visible. She passed it over to the young ANBU. If the bunny-bu opened the sealed scroll to read the contents she would see the name Natsukawa Avaron and the country of Tea. It is signed by the Countess of Tea Country and under reason it states simply: an educational visa. Of course there was a lot more to this story of places and names, of annoying mannerisms and travels. Those to be discovered later. Still the passport was real, the stamp came from the the Countess herself in fact. The situation surrounding her transfer to the Soverign Academy for Wayward Youth was actually an attempt at 'rehabilitation' -- she came of her own recognizance and found the entire process fulfilling. They embraced her skill and rewarded her loyalty, whereas the denizens of Tea met her with fear and contempt.

Avaron would feel the ominous approach of another, but it was an aura she knew well. It did not leave her hair standing on end, even as the abyss spewed out a man nearly twice her size. She would decline wordlessly with her hand the offer of water. Her attention would remain on the ANBU as she asked simply, "am I admitted?" Rather matter-of-fact in comparison to her previous attitude. This interaction would soon come to a close, she had a job to finish - the one Six had obviously failed in. To recover what was left of the Cabal -- dead or alive, but preferably injured in either case. The Daimyo has a new role for them to play ~

What Happened:
- Gave the ANBU Bunny her passport, she is from Tea Country
- She ignored Akkuma
- She is preparing to part with the Cloudy; leaves topic if not stopped
- She tried to hug the Bunny, if so the ANBU would feel slightly sleepy but not terribly so.

The female of the duo would unleash her energy like a downpour. Within her first breath, the individual would already approach Usagi for a hug. The masked female, without hesitancy, would hug the individual back as a small yawn would escape behind her mask. Tenken's selection of his close personal unit was not based on character quirks or odd behaviors, but results, unfortunately each member of his group was incredibly odd in their own right, so a random hug while guarding the gate did not seem too out there. After that awkward reaction to both greeting a masked person and in turn responding to a hug, the female would begin to express her love for bunnies. Behind the mask this would bring a smirk to Usagi.

"I like'um too..."

Getting side track from the female, who now drew her interest more from a personal level, she would turn her attention to Saki.

"Water..."

The door would begin to open and a big figure would emerge with water. Making a mental note, Usagi would not only recognize the description of the person from the ANBU Sennin's debriefing, but would then hear him state his name solidifying her deduction.

"Inside there.... thank you, enjoy Suna...."

With that her business with Saki would be concluded. Usagi would then take the document from the female and begin to take down her detailed notes of the person, while Akkuma began expressing his interest in Saki. She personally did not pay much attention to the demonic figure as that was not her mission today. Her assignment was the gate, and he was already in the gate so his existence was just filler. Looking at the document she would notice a few things that would cause her to question the female she now knew as Avaron.

"Avaron... nice name... Tea... I like that...good place?"

She had not done much studying on Tea Country, is was not part of her overarching larger mission. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the full briefing of the named Sovereign members had not occurred, whether it was the Sennin being lazy or cautious, so the name would not set off any immediate alarms for the diligent Usagi.

"Welcome to Suna... both enjoy stay.... Akkuma..."

The bunny mask would turn to him and the pause might have given the impression she had more to say, but she did not. She also did not care what inference could have been or might have been drawn, she merely had some reason for saying the name so she did. With that the Bunny would wait a moment to ensure the visitors made their way into the village or if they had any questions before she would depart from the scene.

Almost as if on cue, a massive figure seemingly appeared from nowhere with a pitcher of cool water for the travelers. Saki let out a little chuckle at the timing, whether it was intended or not, and gladly took a cup. He nodded to the man in a silent "thank you" and turned his attention back to the ANBU momentarily. It struck him as curious that Avaron decided to reject the water, especially in the way she did. Silently doing things didn't seem to be her speciality. Suddenly, it had seemed as though she had grown serious. Had Saki known her better, he might have though more into it, but he didn't pay it much more attention than that. It was odd that she now showed a more down-to-earth side of herself, but to be perfectly honest, Saki didn't really care at the moment, he had planty of other things on his mind, like, for example, finding the person who would presumably to save his life. Speaking of which...

Akkuma introduced himself.

Saki shuddered for a moment.

"*This* is Akkuma? He's huge. He's... definitely like how Kaza described, at least from what I gathered."

Saki painfully swallowed down a large gulp of water from the cup and avoided eye contact for the moment. He had never been one to deal with pressure very well, and here he was face-to-face with the person who he had been warned of.

"Was he waiting for me? Is he upset? What's going through his head right now?"

Saki's mind was racing every direction possible. There was somethign about that sly smile on Akkuma's face that unsettled him. He looked like the kind of person who could be plotting your murder, all while smiling and having a pleasant conversation. He didn't trust it.

All this time Saki's head was doing mental gymnastics, the bunny cop had admitted them. Faking a smile of his own, Saki bowed slightly.

"Thank you very much. Stay safe now, Avaron." he would say before turning to the giant next to him. "And as for you, Akkuma..." he said, nervousness wavering his voice, but not breaking his sense of humor, "you're a very strange looking water fountain. Thank you."

Saki swallowed painfully again, but this time it was the lump forming in his throat rather than water.

"I suppose I was looking for you, but I didn't think you'd be this easy to find. I've got a present for you from someone you know." he said, pulling a small, smooth stone out of his pack, tossing it to the man-demon-horned thing. "Shall we have a chat somewhere else?" he inquired, holding his hand in the direction that he assumed the village was.

Akkuma would nod to both parties as Saki accepted his water and the women known as Avaron would decline his offer. 'Perhaps she is not used to demons...maybe she just has urgent business.' he thought to himself uninterested in what her business was for he had something of greater importance to deal with. Waiting patiently for them to finish the entry procedure, Usagi the bunny guardian of Suna spoke his name and he looked down towards her. Although she said nothing else, perhaps she was just taking a mental note of his arrival. Giving her a wink he would turn his gaze back to Saki, the man seemed extremely uncomfortable with the demons presence. The sage even began to wonder if he had come across the stone by means of force, if that was the case Akkuma would dine on his flesh and soul. Then again perhaps he had just found it or maybe he was uncomfortable with the fact the massive demon before him held him intently in his gaze.

A slight chuckle escaped his lips as Saki bowed slightly bidding his travelling companion farewell before turning to face the demon. Saki's voice wavered as he spoke his next words to the demon and the beings shark-like grin spread even wider, before bursting into loud laughter. "Indeed I'm one of kind..." he would say nodding as he was thanked. He noticed the shinobi before him gulp, apparently he had more to say. 'Maybe he is trying to work up the courage to discuss what he wants, then again he could be deciding whether or not it was a good idea coming here.' he thought with an internal chuckle.

Listening to the shinobi's next words he couldn't help but smile "Is that so...well as I'm sure you'll discover I'm full of surprises." he would say warmly awaiting this present that he assumed was the stone. Sure enough he tossed the stone to the massive being he caught it between his thumb and index finger. Kaza's chakra signature was unmistakably infused into the stone, it seemed he really did have business with the demon. His next words told Akkuma that he suspected their dealings would be secret as he asked should they chat somewhere else.

"Most interesting...indeed follow me we shall head into the dojo to discuss business further." gesturing for the foreigner to follow him into the dojo. Turning he would begin walking into the entrance hall, grabbing two of his bottles of liqour and a couple glasses he would continue down one of the many hallways. Hopefully in the company of Saki after all they had much to discuss and Akkuma was oh so eager to discover what this man wanted from him. Along with how he could make it benefit himself, after all humans could not obtain something without losing something of equal value. That was the law of equivalent exchange something he believed to be quite true. At least when not dealing with family, for he was known to make exceptions for those close to him.
