Two long years of unfamiliar territory, dangerous predators, and talking animals - otherwise known as contract beasts - has finally led young Yanjirou back to his home. Back to Wind Country. The familiar, scalding hot sands, of the ocean-like deserts seeped between his toes - giving him a familiar feeling of agony. Yet, however painful this terrain may be, it was home. Simply having something that he recognized was comforting, as each step he took caused his feet to sink below the sand dunes he traversed.

The young Byakko decided to begin brushing up on his Ancient Sunan, as you never know when you may need it - and last time he used it, he was paid to... This language brought even more memories to mind, namely the time that he learned the language. Unlike most, as he eventually found, he actually had to study long and hard to learn the near-dead language, which ultimately made him believe that he may have a deeper understanding than those who were simply gifted the ability to utilize it.
The nearer he got to Sunagakure, the more he began to remember the task that he was assigned. Tenken, who sought the boy out and recruited him into the ANBU, had told Yanjirou to gather as much information he could about the places he visited. As much as he'd like to believe that his superior would be alright with learning about deers, and how hares can also be called rabbits, it was highly unlikely that such information would make the cut. Now, despite the several occasions that the young Byakko faced death - one of which being under the influence of a malevolent being trapped in his blade - there still existed a very real fear of death, and being told to take on some other assignment in order to become a full fledged ANBU was... Less than appealing. But that was something he would simply have to think about after arriving back in the village. For now, there was still a long, sandy road ahead of him...
