Judge, Jury, and Travel Agent [Requesting Ayumu]

[Eishi]

Damn it, I always hated going to the principal's office when I was a student even when I wasn't in trouble, and this was basically the same principle, but worse! Regardless, I had to go through the proper channels to do this stuff if I ever wanted to get out of town for a few years months, or however long it takes to get me out of a funk. I didn't waste anyone's time as I came to the receptionist desk and did my due diligence checking in for an appointment to see the kage. It only took a week because he was so fucking important or something, I don't know. Regardless, I didn't seem to have to wait long before I was escorted up to the kage's office and left alone with the man. I did a proper salute like a good boy and said my rank and file.

"Isobe, Eishi. Surgeon Division," I said neutrally as I waited for some response that he heard me and I hadn't just shouted that out into an empty room.

 

[Kogami Ayumu]

Ayumu had several meetings with shinobi scheduled that day... he'd also have several unscheduled meetings with shinobi who simply showed up looking to meet with the Raikage, so he appreciated somebody that went through the trouble of arranging something in advance. On paper, the name seemed familiar. Ayumu had a dossier for Eishi sent over from the hospital so he could skim it for a bit of background information before meeting the kid in case it would give him any insight useful for their meeting. As Eishi was allowed into his office, Ayumu was finishing up and set the folder aside, looking up to acknowledge the young Med-nin. He gave his name and title a bit stiffly as he stopped in the middle of the room.

"I thought your name seemed familiar. I remember observing your Chuunin exam. Seems like things are going well enough for you in the Medical branch," Ayumu commented. He hadn't the opportunity to look in on too many exams, so he recalled those he did. It had been a... unique exam. Not the most exciting, perhaps. Eishi, if Ayumu recalled, had a number of interesting responses to the questions asked. Ayumu gestured to one of the seats across from his desk. "Have a seat, if you like,"<i></i> Ayumu offered, not that it was a requirement. Some liked to sit, some preferred to stand.

"So, what brings you here today?" Ayumu asked, curios to see what the Med-nin was there for.

Funny he said that about my chuunin exam seeing as it was entirely written based and nothing actually happened. I was still a little bitter at the fact I got a psyche exam instead of something physically challenging or fun. I wasn’t going to refute him if he was lying, but I could believe he had a hand in approving my advancement. I had enough merits to my name back when I was an academy student that I basically skipped being a genin as it was, so who was I to argue to the pay raise?

I took the seat as it was offered as I let myself get comfortable before speaking,

“I’d like to leave the country and head over to Konaha medical facilities to advance my own study before potentially traveling to Suna, assuming I’m granted permission by them. I originally planned to go along with Kiri, but he’s a dumbass and got himself turned into a six year old as you are probably aware, so I intend to take the trip myself,” I said with enough conviction. I was never good at playing well with authority, but I was keen enough to keep myself in check when talking to the biggest player in Kumo. I wouldn’t want to be denied because I acted unprofessionally or something stupid to that ilk. I was already feeling uncomfortable enough getting scrutinized for anything knowing my own checkered past.

Regardless I was being a good little chuunin as I waited for the Raikages opinion. The only real connection I had to the man was Kiri and that was assuming Kiri hadn’t been talking out his ass about how he ‘knew the Raikage,’ I guess I was about to test that out after my name drop.

 

[Kogami Ayumu]

Ayumu crossed his legs and leaned back as the Med-nin explained his reason for a trip to the Raikage. A passport was what he sought. A fairly common request, really. Ayumu heaved a sigh at the mention of Kiri, who would have been Eishi's traveling partner if not for his affliction. There always seemed to be some kind of trouble where Kiri was involved. Regardless, with his rank Eishi didn't require any traveling companions to get a passport. He was looking to travel around the world a bit, probably to get some experiences under his belt and expand his view of the world. Many shinobi took that chance when they were of rank to do so.

"I see. A journey of self-discovery or improvement or whatever," Ayumu commented, looking away to open a drawer and fish out a passport application form. He placed it on the surface of his desk and began to jot down a few things based on what Eishi had said. "I did something similar soon after I was able to get my own passport," Ayumu commented idly as he finished writing and looked up once more. "We do have an alliance of sorts with Konoha. Suna on the other hand... we have no quarrel with them, but Wind Country seems to be in a state of perpetual turmoil. Civil war, even. Travel there isn't restricted, but I'd definitely recommend caution," Ayumu advised. Few Kumo shinobi had visited Wind Country since the disaster that was the international Chuunin exam where somebody had tried to essentially kill all shinobi in attendance.

"How long do you estimate your trip will last?" Ayumu asked, the last box to check off on the application.

It seemed this was going far better than I had expected, though, maybe my worry had just been paranoia expecting some kind of resistance to me leaving the country. I was glad that that wasn't seeming to be the case, though. I knew I had to keep my 'professional' face strong during this as I listened to him giving me some of his thoughts along with some pretty obvious information on the current 'situation' between and inside the big three nations. I was somewhat annoyed that he stated it like I didn't already know. I mean, for real, It's not like you could be a rock in this profession if you wanted to get anywhere in life. Despite that, it wasn't like I was about to tell Ayumu my feelings as I simply nodded.

"I don't know, probably a year in Konaha and another in Suna. I plan to come back for a month or two to check in before I take the longer of the two trips over to Suna. Beyond that, my plans are pretty flexible," I answered after thinking over the question for a few moments more. It wasn't like I had too many ulterior motives, honestly. Sure, I was planning on going bar hopping and enjoying myself without Osu and Kiri being on my ass, but I really did earnestly have a plan to get some insight into the other villages methods. I had to say, however, the idea of getting drunk, fight and avoiding the ANBU over there sounded just as profitable fun dutiful as a shinobi of this village, I rationalize to myself. Regardless I took my time as I thought it over a bit more before asking.

"Any need for a trained mednin on my way over to Konaha, perchance? I'm probably going to be breaking most contact once I pass the border until I find a temporary residence inside the city," I offered, not really expecting anything to come my way, but still acting the good little shinobi as I waited candidly for a response.

 

[Kogami Ayumu]

Ayumu jotted down the details of Eishi's expected timeline on the form, adding in some flex time because international travel always seemed to take a bit longer than expected. That pretty much covered what was needed for the passport application. His rank gave him the necessary qualifications so there wasn't too much red tape to go through beyond this little meeting. There were a couple of things he'd need to do afterwards but he'd be able to wrap it up fairly quickly. Ayumu signed off on the application at the bottom and then opened his desk drawer to produce a stamp which he placed next to the signature before putting it away again. Finished, he slid the application across the desk to Eishi as the Med-nin asked about any needs he might have for a Med-nin on the way to Konoha. Ayumu thought for a moment, but there was nothing that had specifically come across his desk.

"Nothing in particular, but you can check with the mission assignment office to see. At any rate, your application is approved,"<i></i> Ayumu responded before gesturing to the application between them. "Take this down to the passport office and hand it over, they will put together your passport and take a picture to go with it, then you will be good to go,"<i></i> Ayumu explained, giving Eishi his next step. There wasn't any more red tape involved, it was just a matter of physically assembling and printing a passport for the Med-nin. The passport would come to Ayumu's desk briefly for his final stamp of approval and then be handed over to Eishi.

"Is there anything else I can do for you today?"<i></i> Ayumu asked.

"Oh" was all I could say as I nearly flinched my eyes open in surprise.

"I had honestly expected more pushback, but whatever, I'll hundred percent take that trip then," I said without too much more of a complaint. I took my time finishing off my drink before bowing as I went to leave the Raikage's office and stepped outside. I didn't want to look to anxious, but I was more than pleased to get on out of there. I felt a little ridiculous now if nothing else. Seems I was super stressed for apparently no reason. I know I hadn't fucked up being respectful and what not, but from what I could tell the Kage seemed pretty chill for his position. Man, was Kiri actually right about him? I questioned to myself as I took my time getting on back home and ready to leave.
