I would like to start off as a Genin, since Kishi's childhood was rather unremarkable and his whole backstory is him rejecting the common methods of teaching.

Combat armor

Jujigun Kishi, or as he prefers to go by, Kishi, is a 6'2" male weighting in at 190 lbs with a powerful build, chiseled jawline, and light brown hair and eyes. He keeps his hair cut fairly short and often has a bit of scruff on his face. His hands are calloused and scarred from his time working the forge, preferring to make his own weapons and armor to ensure the balance, fit, and other qualities are exactly to his liking. When it comes to both missions and combat, subtlety is immediately thrown out the window as he dons his maille and helm and charges headlong into his enemies wielding his sword or axe and shield, screaming a battle cry as he does so. His combat methods lack grace, but more than make up for it in ferocity. From firsthand experience, he knows that war is not an art. The purpose of art is to be beautiful, and no matter how graceful one tries to make their movements in combat, it will never have any beauty to it. Fighting is not an art, but a science, in which function always taking priority over form. He prides himself on his methods being ugly, brutal, and efficient. Despite his views on battle, however, he is not a warmonger. He believes that diplomatic solutions to problems between parties are the best options, but when they fail, deception and manipulation should have no place in war. Opposing parties should always meet face to face. His belief that warfare is to be avoided is precisely why he seeks to perfect it, however. He seeks two possibilities in his methods: to either make the ultimate weapon, capable of destroying any opponent with ease, regardless of their means of retaliation, or to create the ultimate defense. When all people are capable of easily destroying each other, then all people will be afraid to try to kill each other. Alternatively, when defense is perfected, and there is no way to destroy an opponent, war will cease to be a viable means to achieve a goal.
Outside of a fight, or discussion of warfare, Kishi is generally a relaxed individual, a loyal friend and ally, and should some sort of social gathering be going on, a revelrous party-goer. He's quite social, and always willing to speak to those who would listen, and listen to those who would speak. He's a bit of a white knight, and will often go out of his way to protect and assist those who he thinks are in need of it. Outside of battle, he dresses in fairly normal clothing. Usually a white t-shirt and jeans, with a leather jacket.
History:
Born and raised in Leaf, Kishi was sent to the academy for training partway through the civil war. He was generally regarded there as a poor student. Compared to the others, he lacked agility and speed, but had an excess of strength and endurance. He was fast enough to hit his opponent, but not to dodge attacks. He found many of the fighting styles didn't suit him. How many focused more on finesse and grace, avoiding damage and relying on little else to protect oneself. Due to his inability to dodge reliably, he focused on a different tactic: not giving them the chance to attack. Instead of avoiding and countering, he would simply go all in, forcing his opponent to remain on the defensive, keeping his weapon between him and his opponent at all times. If they were too focused on defense, then they could not attack. Still, his technique was not perfect, he couldn't maintain a constant offense, especially against multiple opponents. That was where he began searching for his own solution to the problem, as his strategy of constant offense could be disrupted by a fast enough opponent. Despite not excelling in the academy, he graduated, as Leaf needed fighters in the war. He was not expected to survive without being able to avoid hits from opponents. Thankfully, due to his endurance, he was fairly easily capable of traveling with whatever armor he needed to protect himself. His remarkable endurance and physical protection allowed him to see the war to its end, still, he carried more than his share of scars.
After the war, he took up working the forge in order to create weapons and armor better suited to his fighting style. Armor that could provide more protection, and weapons that would allow him to consistently harm his enemies even when he could land only a few hits.
In his work on the forge, he made himself a few weapons of his own, in particular, his battle axe, in case he should go up against an opponent armored like himself, and a straight arming sword for unarmored opponents. He favored the flexibility of the arming sword over a katana, as it provided him with multiple methods of attacking, using pommel strikes, thrusting attacks, in addition to slashing. Furthermore, it could be used in one hand with more ease than a katana, allowing him to defend himself and others with a shield.
Now he continues to protect Leaf while still using it as a chance to experiment on and perfect his methods of combat and forging. He is determined to create the ultimate defense, and with it, he will act as a shield against any who would oppose his home.
