Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Akechi
”This is the first time I’ve seen snow before,” the dark haired man commented, raising the hood of his white cloak over his head as he walked toward very unfamiliar terrain. He had walked from the port city into the snowy terrain, staring in awe at the snowflakes that touched against the ground as he walked through it. The rock formation and overarching cliffs gave the impression that it was nature’s gift, but the obvious path that was carved in front of him was distinctively man made. Though he had to be miles from what he assumed was a military outpost, he could tell that he was getting closer to what he presumed to be his target. Akechi could feel it in the air, he could see it in his surroundings. The density and fluctuations of chakra mixed with a snowy, wintery mix gave the impression of shinobi on the horizon…

Right in the direction he was headed…

”I’m almost there. Hopefully, they won’t be too overzealous at the gates. I’m too exhausted for a bunch of questions and skepticism,” he said to himself, readjusting the hood of his modified white cloak so that it would block the snow from his face. If all went smoothly, he’d have a place to rest in relative peace for the next couple of days. Maybe he’d even be able to indulge in a few pleasures that he hasn’t had the opportunity to indulge in after his escape.

Eventually, his path was impeded by large gates. Seemed like he had finally reached his destination or something like that…

”Hmmm… I wonder how one gets through these gates without being riddled with arrows. A knock, perhaps?”

[Requesting Entrance]

He was at the gates to meet and share information with Koumyou and Akuhei about his trip to Leaf. Someone attempted to go missing off to the east of Cloud so Kushin was standing around boredly at the gates waiting for their return when a knock could be heard. Leaning over the counter he looked at the monitor and noticed a single visitor.

Forming seals he summoned his mask, a plain shaped mask with a single teardrop, blood red, dripping from the right eye hole down half the length of the mask, three smaller teardrops, black, under the left eye, separate from it, looking more like what a tattoo would look like. He slung his medical robe over the desk and was left in a more casual hooded jacket, fur lined for warmth. The hood down.

Taking the stairs there was a chance that the person on the other side would be frustrated waiting for him, but in truth he didn't care.

Eventually reaching the top he banged on the wall to let the man know he was there. He didn't want to startle a shinobi, reactions weren't always the most peaceful, and he could hardly blame the visitor for attacking him if he'd just leapt down. Continuing an attack maybe, but there was no need for any of that.

Jumping down once the man was aware of his presence he stood still Hello.

”Well well… Speaking of knocking,” Akechi said to himself, a slight grin visible through the darkness in his cloak, watching as a man appeared to knock on the gigantic wall before him. Obviously, he had a flair for the dramatic as he suddenly leaped from the type of the wall, landing in front of Akechi with a thud as he uttered one word…

“Hello.”

”Well aren’t you the talkative one,” Akechi grinned, moving his hood back slightly so that the man could see his face and the permanently active Sharingan that rested underneath the hood. ”Hello to you too friend. Mother Nature sure is harsh around these parts. The scenery is quite beautiful but it is really cold out around these parts. Even with this coat on I’m still freezing my balls off.” There goes the small talk angle, now down to business.

”My name is Akechi. I was wondering if I could get permission to study here for a while. I hear that the Medical Institution here is World Class so I’ve been searching for this place for quite sometime. I hope I am in the right spot. This is Kumogakure, isn’t it?” The man spoke, stroking his chin in between sentences. Hopefully, he could get out of this cold sooner rather than later. He could feel a cold coming on, and being sick simply wasn’t in the plans.

Kushin noticed the active Sharingan, his extensive knowledge of Kinjutsu informing him of the likely situation before him. The man made small talk, and Kushin frowned, though the mask hid it. Though it was the reason for the visit which removed the frown. Curiosity crossed his mind and suddenly the man before him was no longer simply someone to dismiss.

Yes, this is Kumogakure. He confirmed.

Now he had to try and remember the gate regulations, he wasn't used to this.

Do you have a shinobi or Lightning Country passport I can look over? He asked, small talk had never been a strong point, even when he'd been an ANBU Trainee and spent time at the gates.

Of course he now had the reason for the visit, he just needed the appropriate documents.

”Whoa… Not even a name? Now I feel like an intruder, Mask-kun,” he giggled, casually shuffling through his pockets for a form of ID and a passport that the man could look over. Honestly, he had a Sunan passport but that thing had long expired. In fact, it was the very reason that he had been demoted in the first place. But then again, perhaps everything just happened for a reason. One gigantic, interconnected circle of destiny that forced him down this path. Now all he needed to do was find someone that followed the same path he did. People that he could use to further his own goals, and maybe even forge an understanding with them that was mutually beneficial.

Eventually, he found his Uchihan Compound ID, a relic of a past life that had been taken away from him because of lofty, self-gratifying reasoning. Handing it to the man, he attempted to engage the man in simple conversation again. After all, conversation could be rather distracting… and a distraction may have allowed him to slide through without an official document.

”It’s from Izanami. One of the Uchihan Compounds that was destroyed a couple of years back. Ever since then I’ve been wandering around, learning all than I can about arts of medicine. If I just had enough knowledge, maybe I could’ve saved them after the attack.” He commented, his voice dipping into a more solemn tone. Honestly, he hated to talk about it but he hoped that the man in front of him would open up a bit more… especially after Akechi had opened up a bit. ”Boy… I need a drink now. Maybe a nice hot alcoholic drink. Did I mention how cold it was?”

Huh? Was he supposed to give a name? Did ANBU do that these days? Kushin turned his head slightly, only enough so that his eyes could momentarily look towards the village as his mind worked out the issues in his portrayal as an ANBU. It had been a very long time. Last time it was simply as a guard for Shin, he hadn't needed to speak during that.

His attention was gained once more as the other pulled out an ID from an Uchiha Compound. Kushin frowned, again hidden by the mask, his face had never gone through so many expression changes in a single thread. The man spoke, but Kushin didn't listen. He was busy thinking about the ID presented and what the situation was with the gate guard. Surely ID such as this was not official, so should not be allowed. However it did confirm his name, assuming that other forgeries hadn't occurred.

Wait had he said something about saving allies. He could associate with those feelings. In the end Kushin desired to help members of Cloud, that was his main desire, to make Cloud as strong as it could be. That meant that the weak would save the strong. First they would act as shields and then as mobile body parts. Though that was his way of thinking, and he knew he was alone in this. Still he could understand the desire that the man stated.

Chigokai Kushin. He said while looking at the document, introducing himself... kind of.

One moment. He placed a hand to his ear and called the Raikage Tower.

This is Kushin, I'm at the gates. [pause] I know... I'm not normally here, but I am now. Anyway I have a visitor who doesn't have official ID from a village or Lightning Country, what do I do? [pause] Okay [pause] Mmmhmmm [pause] So I have the authority to decide? [pause] Okay. Thank you.

Turning his attention back to the man and handing him his ID he then moved to the gate Your identification is not official, I'm sure you know this. But I don't care. You interest me. Come inside, I will give you a map and mark some locations for you so you can find a drink, a place to sleep and the hospital.

Kushin removed his mask as he opened the gates. Uchiha, he'd recognize his chakra either way.

At the hospital ask for Kushin and I will show you around, perhaps we can discuss what it is you seek.

”Nice to meet you, Kushin. From what I read, the Chigokai are a rather interesting bunch. I’ve never met one in person though,” he responded, slightly bowing to the man as he had introduced himself. See… opening up and showing vulnerability were proven tactics when it came to espionage. Not that this particular trip would involve spying on anyone, but the same tactics could be used in place of actual travel documentation. It wasn’t like he could just use an expired passport or say “Actually, I ran away from my village and I’m going to lose the tail here.”

So showing a bit of vulnerability, along with a name was the most prudent of options that had presented themselves in front of the young man. In fact, Kushin allowed him inside the village in spite of official documentation. Wonderful.

”Thank goodness. That was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be,” he said casually, sticking his hands back in his pockets and entering the village through the gigantic gates that suddenly lifted as he walked forward. He wasn’t sure if Sunagakure was tracking him, they didn’t last time, but he still needed to be cautious. He need to be extra cautious for the rest of his life. It was simply the way things would be from now on.

”Sure thing. I’ll rest up for a bit then come look you up. I just you’re your schedule is open, Kushin-san.”

Time to see what Kumogakure was all about.

Kushin nodded silently as he cast the chakra forged mask aside, it never hit the ground. As the man wandered into the village after taking the map Kushin picked up his robe and placed it back on and resumed waiting for his old comrades to discuss matters of his visit to Leaf.

While he waited he was curious about the man he'd just let into the village. What kind of research was he interested in? Perhaps it would be something of use, perhaps the mans knowledge would be something of value in itself.
