Name: Kagetsu Ren
Age: 9
Gender: Transgender
Sex: Male
Rank: Academy Student
General Description:
Ren's most noteable feature is his androgyny; a small figure that could by mistaken for a boy or a young girl's, soft eyes with a sharp chin and messy yet long and shining hair. This isn't helped by the fact he keeps that silvery hair half concealing his face and prefers light, plain outfits almost always including a hood that he prefers to keep up. Even his voice can be hard to pin down given how light it is and how rarely he seems to speak to others. One would be lucky to get more than three people and have them all guess the same gender.
He acts very subdued, preferring to avoid as much attention as possible and speak as little as he can. He's painfully shy and almost fearful of others, seeming content to a certain amount of solitude though he of course can interact with others if needed. He's also something of a cry baby, quick to break down when pushed too hard. It's usually at this point when he shows his true potential, often forcing himself to get through a situation just to make the problem go away with surprisingly efficient results.
History:
Kagetsu Ren is perhaps the least important part of his own history. More than himself, it was his father Kagetsu Shinten that shaped his life despite his absence. He was of the Kaguya bloodline, fierce and stubborn but ultimately considered low class among the esteemed members of their clan. The loss of his wife from complications when Ren was born took a toll on him as did the years of fighting for every ounce of respect he could get. The man tried and failed to burn down a part of the Kagetsu estate before fleeing, managing to narrowly escape and live on as a rogue. He didn't even try and take his two year old son with him.
With no parents left, Ren was taken in by his mother's brother but whatever sympathy had been given to him quickly shriveled up. He was now seen the son of a traitor with high expectations placed upon him to make up for it. He failed to live up to them at all. He was an awkward, talentless youth, docile and graceless without seeming to have even inherited the only thing of worth from his father; his bloodline. The clan's children bullied him and his elders paid him little attention. When he turned eight he was dropped into the academy with the rest of his generation and to the surprise of nobody he failed his first year. Now on his second year he continues to struggle to improve, to make things just a bit better for himself in his family's eyes.
