Personality: Since early childhood, Shuro has shown himself to be very dependent and self-confident, at times even appearing arrogant and condescending to others not inside the Kagetsu Clan. Due to his isolation, he is incredibly perceptive and intuitive, quickly realizing situations for what they are. After constant harassment from his Clan for the shame brought on by his mother, he has become stern, aloof, and cold towards others, following all the rules to the letter, chastising any who disobeyed them and willing to abandon his comrades to finish tasks in an effort to fix his standing within the Clan. This also seems to make him an indifferent person, uncaring of the events around him and only caring to finish the tasks before him, showing an unflinching desire to be the best at anything he ever does and working harder if he fails to do so. In this regard he is extremely ambitious and thus goes to great lengths to restore his image within the clan.
In truth, Shuro is a rather solitary, factual person. He is apathetic, often speaking bluntly about sensitive topics and ignoring his comrade’s problems, preferring not to involve himself in other people’s matters. As he is ostracized by his clansmen, he is alone for most of his spare time, spending hours reading and training. He has buried his emotions deep within himself, and as such is viewed as cold and uncaring by many, showing a stoic type of personality. Shuro chooses to maintain a quiet solemnity rather than outwardly express his emotions even in particularly tough situations. He does however have a deep hidden fury towards his mother, blaming her for the suffering he has had to endure.
A rather interesting trait of Shuro is that despite being extremely perspective and having eidetic memory, his sense of direction is relatively nonexistence often forgetting where he was going and getting lost though always blaming it on other people or situations rather than admitting it is his fault. Rather ridiculously considering his memory, he tends to easily forget people causing most to believe he doesn’t pay much attention to introductions. He is also fairly sensitive to embarrassing situations, responding violently or childishly as he is unaccustomed to attention, especially when flirted with as he often reverts to child-like reactions. He also seems to regularly revert to drastic measures to solve simple problems, causing him to end up in rather compromising and worsening situations. As such he is often called the idiot genius for his prodigal ability and genius level intellect with seemingly idiotic traits.
Physical: Shuro is of average height for a boy his age and lean in appearance. He has gray eyes, not a dull, unremarkable gray like that of concrete or stone. Instead it’s often stated that his eyes are like the ashes of a fire, beautiful but also cold, many feeling struck by their coldness, as if a stab of ice. The beauty of his eyes are like a piece of art that nobody can understand, leaving people who stared confused and uncomprehending. They were exquisitely beautiful though dark, showing no sense of kindness or compassion, or any feeling for that matter. It was a masterpiece, an art that can be awed and lost inside of, reminding people of the emptiness that life could be.
His hair is short, cropped and often kept neatly trimmed. It is green in color, the kind of green that pushed its way through the piles of gritty snow that the Lightning Country was known for, reminding one that spring still existed. In contrast to his eyes, the green of his hair was the churning, passionate green that the ocean turns during a storm, a color of the forest after it rains, of tadpoles making ripples in the pond. It was the kind of green that brings hope to life, creating an exotic appearance in contrast to his beautiful yet cold eyes.
Suro is known to consistently wear his training gi as he often found training his body religiously in an effort to grow stronger. His training gi is a dark forest green, looking almost black in the night which is monochromatic with his hair and matches his family lineage color of the Kagetsu Clan. He is normallyt seen sporting earthly tan boots to protect his feet, finding it more comfortable than the traditional sandals worn by many students or clan members. He is often seen carrying two bamboo training swords, often using this in his sword play training. A plain white belt is often seen wrapped around his trousers, keeping his uniform in check. He also has a haori jacket in dark green he keeps meticulously clean as it sports the clan insignia on the back.
History: Born to the Kagetsu Ko family of the Kagetsu Clan, Shuro is the product of infidelity on his mother’s behalf, causing him to be born in a shameful manner to the Kagetsu Clan who take bloodline and marriages seriously. His mother’s husband abandoned her after her indiscretion, and she soon stopped taking care of herself which eventually led to an illness which she succumbed to shortly after. This led to the child be orphaned and only having the clan to lean on, however he was ostracized for his birth situation and was considered a shameful disgrace of his late mother.
Shuro was raised in isolation during his early life, taught the art of shinobi combat by members of the Kagetsu Clan as was required but never being shown love and affection and never treated fairly by the older members of the clan. The children were also discouraged from socializing with him and as such he was the clans dirty secret, being primarily left to his own devices and being treated as if he never existed. This left an unbearable agony in his heart which turned into hatred for feeling abandoned by his mother as well as her birthing him under such horrible circumstances. He summarized that he would need to abandon emotions and become a great shinobi in order to be accepted by the clan. This led him to gain an obsessive mentality towards being the absolute best, spending all his time and effort training and educating himself in the way of the shinobi.
Being part of the Ko family, he is known to be a tremendously skilled physical combatant, however it was discovered he possessed in eidetic memory, allowing him to be a prodigy in his training and studies, instantly being the top of his generation. However due to his position in the clan, he was not offered too much extra training as most would be. This forced him to train on his own more often than not, being given the bare minimum required for all Kagetsu Clan members. He spent many days training his body, often placing himself in dangerous and insane training methods in order to improve his physical condition. His prodigious skill only caused more resentment and harassment from the other children and members of the clan, most wishing misfortune on to Shuro. He however had grown accustomed to such treatment had decided to abandon his emotions, figuring that long term success and fame in Kumogakure in the future would change the clans view of him. As such, he begins his life in the Academy with his goals in sight, hoping that by being one of the best once again that he could gain some acceptance from his Clan.
