Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Physical Description:
Yuii stands at an average height of five feet and four inches tall. She hardly looks her age of twenty-six, with her too- bright large blue eyes and soft features. She is small and lithe with a well-muscled frame from a lifetime of travel and training. She keeps her light blue hair sheared off at a practical chin length and gives it no more thought. With straight back, open posture and broad movements she is animated and charismatic. People are drawn to Yuii by her bright smile and friendly if a bit too loud voice. It is easy to see her as a friend, colleague or role-model and Yuii often finds herself on the receiving end of daily woes from others. Yuii rarely wears make-up or puts thought into what she wears beyond practical application which leads to many fashion faux-pas. For all that she is friendly and outgoing, Yuii has little sex appeal. Her only three consistent adornments are a star-shaped pendant and a slightly worn rust coloured scarf.

Personality:
Yuii is a friendly, warm, and generally likeable person. She likes to strike up conversations with strangers and friends alike. She is straightforward and as honest as anyone can be as a Shinobi. One can always know where they stand with Yuii, as she will not pretend to like or be impressed by anyone. She enjoys helping people and feels a responsibility to try and fix the problems of other people's lives. She can and will happily go beyond what is expected of her to rescue others. It's hard to forget her name or face.

Conversely, Yuii's strong personality can be too much for some. She'll pull the quiet introvert into the limelight, loudly tell fantastical stories to the late night bar dweller and berate the morose to smile. She has a hard time understanding other people's feelings or connecting closely with them. Her transient lifestyle has made keeping relationships with people, friendships or otherwise, very difficult as she is quick to move on or lose interest. She never makes an effort to remember someone's name, choosing to tag them with her own tailored nicknames.

Character History: Nobody actually reads these things,
Yuii is the adoptive Niece of Kagetsu Kiyo and sister to Ming, a retired seamstress from the south of Lightning. Yuii began her life as an unaccounted child within the Kagetsu clan. At the age of five, her unfortunate manifestation of skills set her on the path of being turned out by her relatives, as her connection to the clan was never verified but through the benevolence of Kiyo, then Raikage, she was officially adopted. Kiyo had no time to raise a small child, however, and she was sent to live with one of Kiyo's past assistants, Ming until the age of eight when she decided to pursue the life of a shinobi. From childhood, Yuii has always been able to see and speak with the manifested spirits around her. They were her guides and teachers, replacing the often too busy adults in her life. She is altogether comfortable with her occult friends and through them developed a real passion and fascination with the living.From the first moment she joined the academy, it was clear Yuii was well beyond the skill level of her peers. She was no more erudite than the average child, she claimed even to be allergic to books, but her ability to absorb kinesthetically was amazing. It was a matter of a year before she was capable of taking and passing her Genin exam.

A teacher was chosen for her who was capable of filling in her knowledge gaps and keeping the energetic girl busy. The quiet, well-read Sen was chosen for this task. He requested and was granted permission to take Yuii travelling throughout Lightning Country. They spent two years, until Yuii was nearly eleven, wandering from place to place. They would take the odd low ranked mission sent to them from Kumogakure but generally spent most of their time talking. Yuii told him of the ghosts she could see and what little she knew of death. He was the first person she felt comfortable being honest with. From an outsiders point of view, they were almost inappropriately close.

Their third year of travel, Sen seemed to move from town to town with a greater purpose. He seemed troubled, almost haunted by something though he did not confide in Yuii. The bubbly talks ended as Sen became more withdrawn and Yuii stopped trying to fill the silence with chatter. He left more and more of their daily routine up to her, and soon it seemed that all Sen did was walk and read. Yuii wondered if he even remembered to feed himself.

Then, one morning he was gone. More troubling, he'd left everything behind. The notebooks he constantly scribbled in were stacked exactly as they had been the night before, every coin was accounted for. Yuii was distraught. She went in every direction and visited every nearby town but there was no hint of her forlorn teacher.

She resorted to leafing through his notebooks, though she hated to invade her friend's privacy. what she found troubled her deeply and Yuii realised Sen wasn't just sad, he was deranged. Notes on preparing bodies into puppets, trapping spirits in undead carcases and converting the living into undead slaves. The more she read the more uneasy she felt

The now teenager hesitated to involve Kumogakure. They would mark Sen as a Missing-Nin and they would send someone to hunt him down. This wasn't him, he was sick, and there had to be a way to save him. She felt a deep loyalty to him after the past years, but she decided that it would do less harm to them both to involve Kiyo. Surely she could convince her aunt that finding her lost sensei was a priority. Yuii slinked back to Kumogakure like a sickened puppy. She felt at fault for losing Sen and she wanted nothing more than to be allowed to search for him. If only Kiyo would assign someone to come searching for her missing teacher then Yuii was sure they could find him. They couldn't just leave one of their own out there, even if he was out of his mind.

No. Yuii wasn't going anywhere the Kage said. She was young, a genin and most importantly she was Kiyo's niece. She was in Kiyo's care and look what allowing her to leave once had come to? Didn't she know that the pair was meant to be back nearly a year ago?

Yuii. was. pissed. She had only been doing what she thought was right. Kiyo wasn't being fair to her, and more importantly, she wasn't doing anything to find Sen. He was sick, he needed help, and she wasn't doing anything.

But there was nothing Yuii could do, not without Kiyo's permission. Instantly she regretted trusting her Aunt to do what Yuii considered the right thing. Didn't she Kiyo's decision tainted their relationship. Yuii would spend the next three years angry with Kiyo and angry with Kumogakure. Spurred on by teenage hormones, she threw herself entirely into training and missions. She found herself lashing out at Kiyo until every interaction they had seemed part of one everlasting argument.

She withdrew completely in on herself and seemed reluctant to make any new friends in the village. What if something happened to another person she cared about and she wasn't allowed to help them? It was better this way.

In that time she became a Chuunin then a Jounin, although the ranks hardly seemed to matter. Kiyo refused to let her leave the village for missions and there was a short list of high ranked missions within the village bounds. Her judgement there was accurate, however, as Yuii readily would admit

The attack on Kiyo jarred Yuii out the sullen reverie. The teen had yelled angrily dozens of times that she hoped Kiyo would die but she hadn't known how little she meant it until then. Now sixteen, Yuii was faced with a difficult choice. Did she continue to stay in the village that was making her unhappy and help care for Kiyo or did she go? Could she go? She didn't want to become a missing-nin no matter how dispirited she had become.

Gingerly, Yuii asked for any missions that would involve travel. She wasn't picky, just as long as she didn't have to go to a farm and was extremely pleased when her query was answered with something near what she had been hoping for.The 'mission' would be more like a job. She would travel through Lightning country and gather information about everything and anything that concerned Kumogakure. She would gauge the feelings that people

in smaller populations held towards ninja, process mission requests, keep an eye out for information on missing-nin and encourage parents to send children with potential to Kumogakure. Another Shinobi had already been travelling throughout Lightning country doing the job but hoped to retire soon. Yuii jumped at the offer. Who better to take up the job than her? She was sweet and left a great impression with almost anyone she met. She was great with kids, she practically still was one herself, but years of living with Kiyo had left her with the basics of diplomacy. She was a capable ninja too; if there was danger out there she could face it head-on. Finally, she could do something about Sen and in the meantime, she could indulge her love of travel.

Kiyo would have kittens when she found out of course but the now former Raikage was still hospital bound and quite comatose. She had to understand that Yuii couldn't stay and watch Kiyo in a constant state of distress over when or if she would awaken.

So off Yuii went. The first year was spent trailing after the old woman, whom Yuii called Baa-chan. She had travelled their circuit for nearly four decades following the war with waterfall. None of the towns and villages they ventured into held more than a few hundred people and most were used to the irregular visits from the old shinobi. Every place was unique and the people were always fiercely proud of what they had built. They were received with everything from warmth to wary tolerance.

In each place, they would inquire about any work the village might need to be done. It was not unknown for a town to scrape together extra Yen to hire a shinobi with water affinity help out during dry summers or to bring in a couple genin to help with crops in the fall.Baa-chan encouraged Yuii to write down everything. Names, descriptions, the state of people. She would never know when or to whom the information might become useful. That was for whatever poor sod ended up reading the dry reports they would send back to decide.

Yuii was as good at the job as she expected to be and it pleased her immensely to finally have a purpose. In her first year, they found six new students for the village, each with budding affinities and in one case a recessive bloodline. By her third year, Yuii was able to remember the names and faces of most of the people she saw just twice a year. She could remember who was related to who and delighted over every new romance, marriage and birth. She shared in their sadness over each tragedy and loss. Every so often she found she could ease people's grief by cautiously helping with the last wishes of the dead. After a couple found heirlooms and resolving a conflict over a piece of land, Yuii gained a reputation for it.

The brief two weeks she spent in Kumogakure every six months stopped feeling like she was coming home by the fifth year.

In that time Kiyo recovered from her wounds. The attackers had nearly taken her head from her body and an angry red scar reached from her ear to the opposite shoulder. The brush with death had wounded her spirit deeper, and Yuii could hardly detect the vivid and steady person her aunt had been beneath the meek person she was now. All she wanted to do now was sit in her little garden and drink tea; both pastimes Yuii thought of as enormous wastes of time.And yet their relationship improved. Yuii could not say she longed for the company of her docile aunt, she did not mind being one of few the red haired woman permitted to see.

Yuii travelled for ten years doing her long term mission. In that time she made friends and built livings in the many small villages she visited only a couple weeks of the year. Regretfully, on the last year she was forced to leave that all behind to look after her 'sister' Ming's youngest son, who manifested Pyro abilities. Having become disconnected from the village she grew up in, Yuii went to her Sennin Ayumu and begged for a new job and was rewarded with a teaching position in the academy. She taught a number of lessons during her brief time as a teacher and thrived under the stable lifestyle it created.

Following Ayumu's elevation to the title of Raikage, he was pressured to choose his new Senin from amongst the main clans of Kumogakure. From Kagetsu he picked Yuii, as they had built a friendship in months before and he was aware of her contempt for her own family. Picking her meant he fullfilled the council's wishes without putting a clan puppet in the position. Yuii was displeased with the change, but agreed out of loyalty to her new Kage.

Since then Yuii has strived and mostly failed, to become a good Sennin. Highlights of her career have been picking a lunatic as a second in command (saeko), messing up the payment of all the academy teachers in cloud, being part of several ongoing investigations for misconduct, and conspiring to kidnap the Raikage's son. Most recently she had become 'attached' to the Leaf Anbu and envoy of Leaf, Okada Kaji.

Summary: After the near death of her Aunt, Yuii has spent the better part of a decade on a circuit, fulfilling the mission contracted by Daimyo Fukuhara Shunmyo to look after the further most villages in the northern god spine mountains. She returned to Kumogakure at the behest of one of her childhood caretakers whose son is destined ofr the academy. Yuii must learn to once again live in the walls of Kumo, adjust to her new position as an academy teacher and try to find happiness in her new situation.

CA - GhostWalker:
Unreal Understanding - Passive (3 points)
<COLOR color="#d7e1e7">Due to their experiences with the surreal and illusionary, Ghost Walkers are less affected by illusions and tend to be less fearful than others, not being completely affected by the intended penalties.
Effect: All penalties from genjutsu are reduced by 1 (if Blinding Flash would normally do -3 accuracy, they only take -2). Fear effects do not apply. 5% chance to break out of any genjutsu each round.

Genjutsu Mastery - Passive (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
With their understanding of the real and unreal, Ghost Walkers can use genjutsu much more effectively than others can, making their illusions more potent and longer lasting.
Effect: All Genjutsu costs are reduced by 10%. Genjutsu which are fully effective last an additional round before resistance checks are made, and Partially-Effective Genjutsu are treated as fully effective for 1 round after the initial use.

Sound Mind - Boost (3 point)
Restriction- Can only be purchases a maximum of 3 times.
Because of their many encounters with the supernatural or unreal, Ghost Walkers are far less affected by the strange or illusionary, giving them a calm mind in the face of the bizarre or unreal.
Effect: +1 Genjutsu Save

Ghost Illusion - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- B Rank and up
Ghost Walkers have the unique ability to make their illusions physically present, making them that much harder to resist and avoid. Their skill in this often confuses others as to whether such things truly exist or not.
Effect: Gives Genjutsu a Physical Presence. The victim makes a check against the users Genjutsu Difficulty as normal but also must make a check against the users Ninjutsu Accuracy upon initiation. Upon a successful Ninjutsu Check, all damage dealt upon the target deal +10% damage. This technique costs Hp equal to 15% of the Cp Cost. This may only stack twice on a single target.
Notes:
- Each round a Ninjutsu Check is also made between the user and the victim following Genjutsu Rulings. If the Ninjutsu Check fails, the additional +10% damage is negated.

Ethereal - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can only be purchases a maximum of 3 times.
Ghost Walkers can often take an ethereal form, hence the name. In some cases, they remain partly ethereal almost all the time, part in the world, and part in the world beyond.
Effect: -5% Physical damage taken

Burrowing Spell - Passive (2 Points)
Certain barriers are no use to employ against those attuned to other worlds, as their ghostly sight and senses bypass them entirely. Such overcharged spells have a tendency to be more potent than average as well.
Effect: All Genjutsu bypass barriers, and deal 40 Illusionary damage per Jutsu Level, per sense. This damage is automatically dealt each round the genjutsu is maintained, and cannot be avoided or reduced in any way.

Mind Over Body - Passive (3 Points)
With so much focus on their minds and honing their chakra, Ghost Walkers often find their minds recover so much more quickly than their bodies do, especially while in their native state of befuddling the mind.
Effect: User gains back 2% CP every round they use a Genjutsu.

Ethereal Weapon - Independent Special Move (3 Points)
Long have Ghost Walkers sought a viable means of attacking while in Ghostly Form, and here it is--a weapon of sharpened chakra itself, striking with piercing force and able to be held by even the intangible.
Effect: User creates a pure chakra weapon of any type that is able to pierce half of all damage reduction, including Ghostly Form. This weapon is treated as being augmented with the augments Spirit Link and Mirage, regardless if the user posses the augments. The user may replace either Spirit Link or Mirage with a single purchased augment, but this must be declared upon creation. Weapon must follow all weapon creation rules for the user's rank, and costs 100 CP and 1 AP to summon and 100 CP/rnd to maintain.

Ghostly Form - Jutsu (1 point)
Restriction- A-Rank and Up
The culmination of their supernatural power, a Ghost Walker can use this technique to turn completely ethereal for a small amount of time.
Rank 1: User turns ethereal for 2 rounds. While ethereal, the user only takes 60% damage from physical attacks, but still take normal damage from Ninjutsu/Genjutsu. User also deals 60% less physical damage to others, unless they are using Ethereal Weapon. The user takes +25% damage from Evil/Holy attacks.
Notes: This counts as a Chakra Armor.

|Abilities:
1) Defensive technique
This ability allows you to defend more efficiently. With this ability you can reduce damage taken, block attacks, and tire your enemy out.

Information:
Prerequisites: E Rank

Effect:
- When in defensive mode, the player receives -1 to accuracy per +1 to dodge instead of the normal +2 dodge -4 Accuracy defense penalty.
-The maximum amount of dodge for accuracy they may swap is 4.
- -10% Damage Taken while in Defensive Mode

Note:
-This is not a style/stance, and may be used simultaneously with another style.

2) Hyperactive:
They move fast, they think fast, they even talk fast, these are the people that seem to bounce of the walls nonstop, and rather than grow weary of their constant zealous charisma, tend to grow even more energetic. Common among children, and often carried into adolescence, these are the people that can never quiet seem to sit still for more than 5 seconds, and always seem to be on the move.

Effect: The user regains +3% of their Max CP back at the beginning of every round.

3) Duelist:
A master of card battles and dice games, the user is undefeatable so long as they believe in the heart of the cards. A duel is an age old custom, extending back to the beginnings of modern combat. Those skilled in the exchange are well suited to fighting in one on one combat.

Information
Prerequisites: C Rank

Effect:
- +2 Accuracy/DC and +10% damage towards a single target. User must choose target at beginning of battle. Should the target be KO, or no longer in the battle, the user may choose another target. Targeting any other opponent (excluding clones) from the initial target will nullify this ability for the remainder of the battle.
- +10% chance to auto-dodge the targets attacks
- -2 Dodge/Save to any other opponents targeting the user

Notes:
- When choosing a target, the user must declare what type of Accuracy or DC buff they wish to receive. Either Melee, Ranged, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, or Puppet. The type of buff remains constant as long as this ability is active.
- Clones are considered an extension of their owner and all above effects will still apply.
4) Contract Mastery:
The ancient power of the bond with a Contract Summon can go even deeper than just summoning. By forming a special symbiosis with one's contract, a warrior can attain an even greater power.

Prerequisites: C-Rank, Must have a Contract, Contract Summoning

Effect:
- Contract Summoning's E-B rank summons AP cost is reduced by -.5 AP, and A-S Rank Summons AP Cost is reduced by -1 AP.
- Upon summoning a contract the user may choose one of these buffs to apply to it by paying +20% of Contract Summoning's CP Cost:
The summoned contracts receives +10% Damage, and -5% HP/CP Cost to all of their techniques. (Only reduces HP/CP Cost)
The Contract's Max HP/CP is increased by +5%. (This adds to their total Max HP/CP upon summoning)
The Contract gains +3 Melee/Ranged/Ninjutsu Accuracy, +3 Genjutsu DC, +3 Melee/Ranged/Ninjutsu Dodge, or +3 Gen Save. (User may only choose one for their contract to receive. Ex. You do not gain +3 Melee and Ninjutsu Accuracy you may only choose one of the buffs)

Special Action - Symbiotic Relationship: By paying 2 AP and 4% Max HP/CP from both the user and the contract the user may have one of the following effects happen.
The user may reduce their Secondaries by -1 to give their contract +2 Secondaries.
The Contract may reduce their secondaries by -2 to give the user +1 Secondaries.

Notes:
- The user can teach up to a maximum of 3 people the secrets of their contract. The user being taught may roleplay to obtain the contract instantly after approval from the Contract Team, but cannot enter the contract realms prior to owning the contract of that realm. Players that obtain contracts this way may not use this ability to teach others after them. Only 1 person may be taught at a time, after which a 2 month wait is required to teach again.
- The user may only use Symbiotic Relationship with one Contract Summon at a time.
- Symbiotic Relationship lasts for two full rounds, and requires one full round of cool-down before it may be used again.
- The cost of Symbiotic Relationship may not be reduced by any means.

5) Concentrated Focus
With a sharpened mind, a shinobi can strengthen the bonds used to restrain enemies.

Information
Prerequisites: C-Rank, 2 Bind Jutsu Mastered

Effect: The user's binds have a -5% chance of being escaped from and binds which break upon the user losing a portion of their Max HP or CP are now increased to 20% Max HP/CP.

Special Action - Tighter: Once per round, the user may attack the target of their own bind, allowing them to Auto-Hit with B-Rank and lower jutsu. The bind will still break once damage is dealt. This may only be done twice per battle.

6) Shattered reality:
As proficient as they are to tricking their foes to fall for their illusions, they can take away their illusions in a snap of a finger. Such action distorts the minds of their prey, mixing in reality and fiction within their selves and inflicting severe mental trauma in the process.

Information
Prerequisites: C-Rank, Must have mastered 3 Genjutsu

Effect: The user may choose to Shatter a Genjutsu which they are maintaining that is active on an opponent. This requires an Attack Roll against the targeted opponent using the user's Genjutsu DC against the target's Genjutsu Save and causes them to suffer 750 / 1,500 / 2,250 / 2,650 / 3,000 / 3,375 Illusionary Damage if the user succeeds. Shattering a Genjutsu costs 0.5 AP, CP equal to 10% of the shattered Genjutsu's initiation cost and immediately ends the shattered Genjutsu regardless of the success of the user's Attack Roll.

Notes:
- Illusionary Damage inflicted by Shatter scales on Rank E / D / C / B / A / S.

7) Healing Factor:
While everyone possess a natural recuperation rate, recovering over time with rest, there exist many who tend to just...keep coming back for more, and don't learn when to give up. Persistent to the end, It is hard to keep those with this trait down for long before they spring back up, regardless of the injury.

Information:
Prerequisites: D Rank

Effect:
- The user gains 3% Max HP at the end of each round.
- All Medical Jutsu are +10% more effective on the user.

Special Action - Quick Healer: At the end of a round the user may choose to pay CP equal to 5% of the damage done to the player during the round, to regain 5% of the HP lost by the player during the round.

8) Elemental Aura (GhFo):
The bright flare of this aura is visible on the user when activated, chakra of their natural color visible to anyone who cares to glance at them.

Information
Prerequisites: A Chakra Armor Mastered

Effect:
- Chakra Armor cost .5 Ap less than usual, and gain +1 to overall round limitation.
- While Chakra Armor is active, any Secondary Effect chances of the same element used by or against the user are treated +/- 10% in the user's favor. This only applies to the effect's chance of activating, not the actual effect itself.

9) Jutsu expansion:
To be able to break a jutsu's limitations and have it act as though it wasn't limited simply to all assumed limitations is the sign of a true master.

Information:
Prerequisites: B-Rank

Effect: Allows the user to increase the rank of a Jutsu and all associated effects with it. Jutsu AP cost is increased by .5AP.

The new OOC rank jutsu (ex: E to D) gain the following values in order of D/C/B/A.

Offensive Jutsu - Damage gains 630/650/2400/2950
Barrier Jutsu - Barrier health gains 565/585/2160/2655
Clone Jutsu - Hp/Cp % increase 10/5/5/10, Increased accuracy of 2/1/3/3

For all the above:
Chakra cost gains 200/280/1470/2000
Secondary Effect % chance gains 6/3/15/27

Note:
- May be used once per round.
- Taijutsu damage and Chakra values gained from this ability are lowered by 25%
- Puppet damage and Chakra values gained from this ability are lowered by 40%
- Genjutsu damage and Chakra values gained from this ability are lowered by 50%
- This ability cannot be used with BL/CA/Kinjutsu moves.
- This ability only works with initially B Rank and lower jutsu.
- The jutsu counts as 1 ooc rank higher and receives all associated restrictions. Eg. B-Rank jutsu being used with this ability will count as an A-Rank jutsu and cannot be used with other abilities or effects which require a B-Rank jutsu or below.

10) Elemental Illusion:
At a certain point, the users chakra becomes more attuned to a particular element and begins to take on properties of said element. When using Genjutsu to fool the senses of others through chakra, the traits taken on are often magnified within the clouded minds of the victim. Having slightly warm fire-based chakra for example, could cause their target to experience searing burns for example, while earth-based chakra may create a tremor-like sensation.

Prerequisites: D Rank, at least a Minor Affinity to the chosen Element

Effect: The user may choose to have their Genjutsu take on properties of a single Base Element they have a Minor Affinity in; only one effect may be active upon the target at a time.
Fire - The victim takes +10% Damage from all damage types.
Wind - Accuracy debuffs inflicted upon the target persist 1 round longer, regardless of their source.
Lightning - The victims actions cost +10% Ap.
Earth - Dodge debuffs inflicted upon the target persist 1 round longer, regardless of their source.
Water - The victim's actions cost +25% Cp.

11) Jutsu mastery:
The user knows their jutsu inside and out; they have such a complete understanding that they know how to conserve as much chakra use as possible and still obtain the same results as a less skilled shinobi would using far more energy.

Prerequisites: C-Rank

Effect:
- All Jutsu cost -10% Chakra, this includes Maintains.
- All Chakra cost penalties from choosing to use 'Special Actions' are halved.

Notes:
- Example: A Special Action that requires 20% of the CP paid, would now cost 10% of the CP paid.
12) Mind Overflow:
Skilled illusionists who prefers to dominate their foes through the power of Genjutsu. Overlapping and controlling simultaneous illusions on a person's mind to force their own body to unconsciously follow the illusion, mentally straining themselves and rendering them more vulnerable to the illusions.

Effect: Targets effected with the user's Genjutsu take +10% damage from all damage types.
