Character's Physical Description: Ha stands at an impressive 6’5” and weighs 220 lbs. This gives him a lean look that does not do well to show off just how much muscle he truly has under his clothes. His hair is red with a few rare stripes of black/brown towards the outside, giving him the appearance of horns. While they are always hidden, his eyes are a reddish-brown color. Ha is typically seen wearing black outfits with lots of red highlighting to them, and little white highlights. He also always has his gloves on, and there are rumors he sleeps with that mask of his. White with red markings, and only tiny slits to see out of.
Character's Mental Description: Ha is a knight Templar at his core. He has his faith, and he will enforce it violently if he must. He is not, however, foolish enough to believe he can do as he pleases. A shrewd planner, he will bide his time and wait for the right moment to enact his agenda. On a social level, he shows time and again that he is not here to make friends. If he takes a liking to someone, then it is a rare person indeed. He prefers to be about his business, however.

Character History:
The country of Steel it was called. For centuries the only power was the Church. And the power of the Church was absolute. And corrupted. They worshipped a mere man, elevated him to godhood in their own minds so they could pervert the laws of the universe and claim divine right to do so. This man was the undisputed God-King of the land. For the past forty years, that man was Tenno Kiyoki. Kiyoki was the last son of his father, and managed to outmaneuver his own siblings to take the throne. He took to wife his sister, and proceeded to rule Steel.
His wife gave birth, often to sons, but to one daughter also. This girl Kiyoki also wed, and soon began a habit of marrying his own daughters “to keep the blood pure”. His sons would be used as soldiers and generals until they turned 18, at which point Kiyoki had them assassinated. Often he would use this as an excuse to remove a rival, but sometimes he did so simply to secure his own power against the new generation.
When Ha was born, he was the twentieth child of Kiyoki, born to Kiyoki’s first daughter, Ryobo Haha. He grew up in battle, his father forcing him into the army as a mere child to learn the ways of combat. His brothers were idols to the young child. Giants of power he could not comprehend. It always saddened him when they turned 18 and were sent on missions that they never returned from. He was not aware he had any sisters, nor that his own mother was such.
This dreamland of childhood innocence was shattered when he was twelve. His father’s fourth wife, Saia, pointed out that Haha’s latest birth was very difficult. The son it bore, Wakai Kirakuna, was a healthy babe if a bit on the small side, but Haha herself seemed drained. Never a vibrant woman, she was sinking deeper and deeper into depression over her life of servitude to a husband and father she did not love.
Kiyoki had her examined, and she was declared barren, unable to birth more children. Kiyoki called Ha to his throne room, and commanded him to execute Haha for this betrayal. The child was frozen to the spot when he heard these words. But Haha herself finally told him to do it, lest their king kill them both. Ha did the deed, tears pouring from his eyes as he did. For failing to do his duty with “the proper spirit” Kiyoki had Ha’s face scarred around the eyes with acid, to give him the appearance of forever crying.
Ha learned from this experience. He noticed once more his elder brethren were vanishing, and he began paying attention to the rumors of why. He attempted to bring his younger brother, Surebu Musuko, into his confidence. Musuko went to Saia and Ha was brutally beaten by an inquisitor for questioning his God-king. While Ha believed Kirakuna would not betray him, the youngest son was simply too young to help in any way.
Ha began to hone his talents. He’d always been a skilled swordsman, but he knew he would require mastery of the chakra that was prevalent in the greatest of warriors in Steel. It was during his training that he noticed he could manipulate the world through sound. A whistle could stir a breeze; a soul-ripping song of his mother could bring a blizzard of cold. It took time, years, but he revealed more and more of this gift in private through hard practice. He also took up the art of metalworking, and crafted himself a sword. A blood red blade, the metal was of the finest quality. The hilt had several holes inside of it and when swung would generate sound depending on how Ha held his hand around it. Gone was the singing, and instead he could use his blade to manipulate his chakra instead.
When his own eighteenth birthday came, he was prepared. Ha wore his armor under his clothing, and carried his sword as was the norm for him. He remained wary; knowing that he was not the first child of Kiyoki to know what was coming. What he didn’t expect was for Musuko to come to him just before first light. As blank faced as ever, Musuko explained that Ha was a threat he was ordered to eliminate by their father. His brother was skilled in the art of mental combat, and tried often to trap Ha within his own mind to make the fight easier.
Ha held onto the memory of his mother’s blood on his clothes, his will fighting through the tricks as he struggled against this unexpected foe. As the sun peeked over the horizon, Ha’s blade removed Musuko’s head from his shoulders. Kiyoki has indeed lost a son that night, just not the one he intended to.
The God-king was not happy with this turn of events, nor when he discovered that Ha had fled in the night. Ha knew his father would have to fall, but he could not do that alone while the maniac was surrounded by his bodyguards and loyal army. So he fled.

Still actively roleplaying in any other threads? Yes, but keeping him as an NPC so it shouldn’t be an issue.
Also, going to apply for the Dark Sage kinjutsu here:
Four years. That was how long it took him to find his revenge. After slaying his brother in defense of his own life, Ha fled the capital of Steel and vanished into the country’s innumerable mountains. The next four months were spent fighting off assassins and trying to figure out how to pay his father back for the deeds done to the child and his family. He was weary, but his determination pushed him on to lengths that no normal man could take. He was not, however, a normal man. He was trained in the art of ninjutsu, in the manipulation of chakra. And he was pissed.
There is an ancient warning in the mines of the kingdom of Steel. “Do not dig too deep lest you uncover that which was not meant to be seen.” As he fled into one of the oldest mines in the land, that warning flashed by on a sign that Ha paid no heed to. There was an army on his heels. He knew not how they found him, but they did. Ha fled deep into the mine, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He was enjoying a meal when the arrows began flying through the window. Ha had only enough time to duck under his table before the door to the pub was kicked open and men began pouring in. He managed to slay several before fleeing through the back, but he did spy Hirakuna standing outside looking rather morose. To put a child that young into such a position was very much like Kiyoki.
The army chased him, and he fought when he could, but mostly ran away. He knew he was no match for thousands. He was only thankful for being lucky enough to slip away when he could. But they would flood this mine with men to find him, or simply collapse the entrance behind him and hope he died down here. He doubted that one, however, as Kiyoki wanted nothing short of his head in front of the throne as proof.
Ha risked a look back and wished for a moment that he hadn’t. There were so many people coming in behind him it was blocking the light from the entrance. With a sharp whistle and hum, the still air of the cavern begins to move. Arrows fly from the horde, many of them turning aside or around. One manages to break through and pierce Ha in his side. But the movement would not stop as the whistle rises in fever. A miniature tornado begins to head down the tunnel, shaking the rock walls with thunderous force.
Rocks begin falling from the ceiling of the mine, crushing men under them and blocking off the path to Ha himself. With that done, he falls back against a wall and takes several ragged breaths before the void embraces him.
He knew not how long he was out. Only that occasionally he would awaken and begin moving. His mastery of the fire element of chakra would be used to provide light. He had food and water on him, enough to last a day at least. He would move for a while, then rest, and then repeat the process. The mine was obviously going somewhere, and though it was subtle it appeared to be going down. As he went deeper, the walls began to look less like natural cavern, or even man made paths, and instead smooth and instead carved out passages. It looked almost as if something simply cut through all of the rock and left behind a straight wall.
The walls would begin to open up, and towering columns could be seen. Intricate scrollwork in the stone was soon apparent. And then he stopped using the fire for light, as something in the distance was creating a dim blue glow that provided enough to see by. It appeared he was in a large building, and not the cave he knew himself to be in. Ha pressed on, moving in between periods of rest. The wound in his side not stopping him, but slowing him indeed.
It was a church of some sort. Stone pews lined the walkway to either side of him. In some, there were skeletons. But the altar was ahead, and the blue light was coming from it. His water was empty, his throat was dry. Perhaps there was something there, anything that could help. Ha steps onto the dais and moves around the altar. And beholds only more stone. The altar itself was emitting the glow. With a soundless yell, the darkness once more embraces him.
Who is this child of man that comes to my domain after so long?
I am Shin Ha.
Shin Ha. I sense you are weary. And injured. I sense, more than these, a hatred in your very soul. It burns hot as the sun and as cold as the void itself. What could cause a child of man to hate so?
My father. He is a monster in the guide of a man pretending to be a god.
A god?! Impossible. No man is a god. Were my church still alive, were my followers still numerous, were I still powerful…I would show this man a god!
You are a god?
But of course, child of man. And you are to be my newest disciple.
Water was hitting his face. Rain pouring down from above. Ha opens his eyes, looking up at a stormy grey sky. There was grass under him. He was no longer underground, but the memory of that moment was burned into his mind, never to be forgotten. He knew what being the disciple of a true god would entail. It would not be easy, but nothing worth doing was. After a moment of letting the water revitalize him, Ha rises and looks around.
He was told where to go, where to begin spreading the word of his new master. Where to find those sympathetic to a change. And how to win them over.
It took a further three years to get the required people together. Ha wandered the country, he wandered outside of the country, he even hired mercenaries when he could using money obtained by robbing his father’s tax men. But now he had it. It was not the largest of armies, but it was fervent. And it descended upon the country like a tidal wave. Villages fell, followed by cities. And in each, it was the same. Those who fought, died. Those who refused to renounce Kiyoki, died. Those who did not submit to the true god, died. After tales of entire cities being put to the torch, many converted when he arrived.
It took Kiyoki some time to respond. In the previous years the army had scattered wide looking for these rumored rebels. Kiyoki needed time to bring them together into a single fighting force, so he sent Hirakuna with his own company out to stall and harass the rebels. Ha was proud to note his brother seemed to be much better at command than he himself was at that age. He was also taking note of the skill of the other with a gun. And the fact that Hirakuna purposely missed shooting Ha himself in their few encounters.
It took only a few skirmishes before the company was encircled, and the men began to be slaughtered. Hirakuna requested a cease fire and asked to speak to Ha. This was granted. Ha, though happy to see his brother, remained determined not to let his emotions betray him. Hirakuna pled for his men. Ha declined to accept the plea. Hirakuna begged him to stop the invasion, to simply flee Steel. Ha refused. Then Ha offered to let Hirakuna himself flee if he swore to never draw arms against a worshipper of the true faith again.
As his last remaining brother was cut down for refusing this command, his men once more fell upon Hirakuna’s company, killing them to the last.
He then began a lightning assault, attacking the different divisions of the Steel army as they tried to gather in the capital. No less than four went down before the rest arrived, significantly lessening his father’s forces. Still, the clash between the two forces was nothing short of a blood bath. Ha took to leading his men by example, his blade and ninjutsu clearing vast swathes of enemies from before him that his men would fill with arrow and bullets before rushing in themselves. It began as a charge for the Steel forces, then became a stalemate, before turning to a retreat and then a rout. His men were thorough, chasing down the survivors and putting them to the blade as they could. Nothing stood now between him and his father.
Steel was different, yet the same. The city looked much the same, but the people were shut in their homes and hiding. It was likely because thousands of men were patrolling the streets. Ha himself led them, forcing his way into the Church and Palace. His father’s bodyguards fell quickly to the numbers he brought. And then his father was there, sitting on the throne. He looked old. He looked weary. And he looked far too alive for Ha’s liking.
Kiyoki was not an easy target. He had decades of experience in combat, and much like Ha was learned in the arts of the shinobi. Ha ordered his men to stand back and engaged his father. It was a brutal, fast fight. And in the end Kiyoki knelt before him, bleeding from his arms. And begging Ha not to kill him.
”Do not beg. My mother did not beg for her life. She was stronger than you. You are simply a coward, too weak to accept fate.”
As Kiyoki’s head rolled across the floor, Ha ordered his men to find Saia that she might join him.
Child of man, you have done well.
I am glad to hear that. Though now with my father dead, what shall I do?
You will continue your work. While my church is bad once more to this land, there are many other lands out there. All must learn to follow my word.
And how am I to do this? Steel was hard, and I had ample resources and knowledge of the land.
Child of man, do you forget who I am? I am your god. And you will be given power to do this task!
Teams had been working for weeks to clear the rubble. It took time, but they did open the passageway. Ha led a small procession, his twelve most loyal followers, into the depths. The men were suitable awed as they went deeper and deeper, uncovering the underground ruins from which sprang the spirit of revolution in a nation.
As they came upon the altar, Ha had them each stand in a circle, and he himself climbed atop the altar. The blue glow was calming. It was peaceful. He closed his eyes.
Child of man. It is done.
Ha opens his eyes, looking about. His twelve companions stood still, silent and vigilant over his form. Their faces were stern, and their demeanor threatening. As he climbed down from the altar, Ha took note of the bundles of clothes under them with some confusion. He didn’t recall anyone having extra clothes, much less each of them.
With growing dread at the coming knowledge, Ha turned to the altar. What had he done?
What you must. These men gave their beings that you might spread the word of my glory. They are with me now in my home. They will remain here, their spirits forever guarding my being. And their power is yours. Go, go and convert, Son of God.”
So it was that Ha left Steel. The sacrifice of his twelve companions was indeed noticed. He wasn’t sure why his lord wanted him to see the spirits of the afterlife, but he could. He could also manipulate his own chakra in more interesting ways. He would need to experiment with that.
Steel was left behind. His lord made it clear to him to not return. There was a world to convert, and Steel was not somewhere he would need to ever return to. Nor would he want to. They were governing themselves under the doctrine of his god now. And they would not stray.
His wandering brought him to the land of Fire. And when he heard that Konohagakure was looking for able bodied shinobi, he felt an urging to join them. He was certainly something they could use, and he felt that this land would in turn be of use to him.
