Character's Mental Description: Tenrousei is a fiery young girl who has a love for adventure, food, and fun. All she wants is a full belly, and all the time in the world to have fun and play. To her, life is a game and it's one that can be harsh. Typically optimistic, Tenrousei spends most of her time exploring the academy than learning from it. She has a temper, and doesn't like to be told what to do. She can be shy, but only for a little while, and when you win her over-- she's loyal till the end.
Character History: Tenrousei is a child of the slums. She was born to a pair of lovers whom abandoned their child; they left her on the doorstep of an elder woman, whom lived in the poorest section of Sunagakure. Left in the care of the elderly woman, Tenrousei grew up in the dark not knowing a single thing about her birth parents. The only person she knew, for the longest time, was her caretaker. The old woman was cynical, old, cruel, and foul. She beat the young girl until she fell ill. Frailty over took the woman, keeping her in either chair or bed. Tenrousei rebelled, taking advantage of the woman's instability and left the home she had been locked away in all her life.
At the ripe age of seven, Tenrousei took to the streets where she stole what she needed from vendors in the markets to survive. Occasionally, she would return to the place she had known and check up on her caretaker. The elder was the only person she had ever known, and while cruel, that meant something to Tenrousei.
For several more years, she lived off of what she could scavenge in the slums. She never wandered too far, however. She got to know the area quite well, and she had made a couple of acquaintances during her adventures. She had become familiar with a few of the vendors she would steal from. When they realized the girl was homeless, they began to offer her food, scraps of whatever was left for the day. As a result, she no longer would steal from them. Instead, she'd take her five finger discount to new vendors, or to those whom had conflict with her.
One day, Tenrousei was going through her daily routine of checking the vendors when she noticed a small creature laying down in the dirt. It was a small dog, beaten and near death. Feeling a sense of pity for the animal, she took it to the vendor she liked most-- one whom happened to own a canine of his own. When she presented the dying dog to the marketeer, he informed her that the animal was gravely injured and probably wouldn't survive the night. Tenrousei was adamant, however, about trying to save the dog, anyway. So, the man gave it a shot. While the dog was badly beaten, it hadn't suffered any broken bones to whatever it was that had brought it misfortune, and thankfully, it survived. Over a couple of weeks, Tenrousei and the man nursed the small dog back to health. When it was well enough, the man released the dog into Tenrousei's care, and told her to give it a name. Uncertain of what to call it, Tenrousei pondered the concept over a couple of days. Finally, after a week's time, she returned to the vendor and exclaimed that the dog's name would be "Xei."
From the day that Tenrousei found, and helped save, Xei, they have been inseparable. The small, black hound and the girl explored further and further from the slums with each passing day-- always looking for something new. One day, Tenrousei and Xei wandered further than they had ever wandered before and got lost. They were lost in an area of Sunagakure that didn't suffer the cruelty of poverty. It was clean, and well kept. It was enthralling, and Tenrousei wanted to know more about this area, but it was late and she was hungry. With Xei, she returned to the slums to wander the small market, and gather what scraps of food she could.
The next day, she went to vist the old woman whom had raised her. There, the woman had been waiting. An look of delight had been plastered upon the crinkled face, a look that she had never carried before. Tenrousei was stunned at the sheer glow that seemed to shimmer off of the woman. When she had inquired about what was making the elder so happy, the woman explained to her that Tenrousei was to be enrolled in the Shinobi Academy. Confused, Tenrousei didn't understand. She knew nothing, and had no desire to be a Shinobi. All she wanted was a full belly and a place to play with Xei, and she told the woman. The elder had laughed and told Tenrousei that the Academy was just the place for her. Telling her that she'd have a full belly at all times, and a place to play with Xei, she easily convinced the young girl. Little did Tenrousei know, but there had been a visitor that had followed her home the night before, from her adventure into the heart of Sunagakure. A mysterious man had taken an interest in her and had paid the woman off for the child's saftey, and betterment.
And thus, Tenrousei was entered into the Academy where she currently happily resides.
